Appetizers: Egg Rolls - 9.8 / 10 Quite possibly the crispiest, crunchiest egg rolls literally anywhere on the face of this planet. These are the egg rolls by which any other egg rolls that I eat is measured by. Granted my "Filipino Card" could be revoked for saying this, but if I had to choose between these Vietnamese variants over my heritage's Lumpiang Shanghai , I would have to go with the former. Soup / Pho: #9 Pho Ga - 8.5 / 10 I usually order rare steak pho myself, but since the person whom I always go with orders this, we just split a large rather, she's nice enough to me 1/3 of her generous large. I appreciate the simplicity. A pure, clean, chicken consommé with thick, juicy slices of chicken breast. I really only ever eat chicken soup when I'm sick, but I will gladly make an exception for pho ga. Entrée: #43 Bún Nem Nu'óng Thit Nu'óng (Heo Hoac Bò) (Charbroiled Pork or Beef, Grilled Pork Ball with Vermicelli Noodles & Vegetables) - 8.9 / 10 Hot take: when I usually get Vietnamese food, I don't get Pho unless it's raining (I know, I'm weird with this weather / temperature psychological thing). That said, the #43 hits the spot every time. Do yourself a favor & get this with beef (you can choose between charbroiled beef or pork). The (sliced) pork meatball is like a nicer, meatier spam. Throw that on some chilled rice noodles & round that off with some sliced vegetables (cucumber, carrots, daikon radish) & you've got a nice variety of flavors + textures. Bonus points for always getting directly seated as soon as you walk in. Looking back, I'm glad that one of my sister's former boyfriends introduced her to this place back in 2003. Still on the quest to find the best pho in the SFV, so I found myself back at the pho chain Pho So 1--this time at the Reseda location. Big plus: huge FREE parking lot in the back I came in around 8ish PM. The place was busy, but my order came out in a reasonable amount of time. The pho broth was very flavorful (I eat my pho as-is), though I really wish it was piping hot. They use the egg roll wrappers I prefer, so that was a win. I also ordered the combination fried rice to-go--portion size was decent, but flavor-wise it was nothing exciting. Service was just meh. I've definitely had better service at their other locations, which was a bit disappointing. Been coming here for 25 years. It used to be 5 stars but the broth has lost its depth and flavor over the years. But it is still very comforting and tasty. I like asking for the fatty broth in the side. This was one of the OG pho places in the valley. The egg rolls are phenomenal. Pair it with a Vietnamese coffee or avocado shake and it's a very good meal. Service is hit and miss. Always fast but not always super friendly. It's my little go to pho place in the valley. There's actually quite a lot of locations in the valley. I've been to a few as well as the one in semi valley. Honestly, Simi valley is slight better in my option. But this location isn't bad. It's pretty small compared to the others but it gets the job done. There's a small lot that's next to the restaurant but it's also next to a bigger lot that's shared with a few other businesses. Also street parking out front. It basically gets down to busy right when you walk in. Why is alway when you are seated, they literally ask are you ready to order...lol... Give me a couple minutes at least... Straight to it, if you want pho this is where you should be. They have a pretty big selections. Rice dishes as well as stir fry noddles dishes. If you're ordering any of the pho, it'll be out within a couple minutes. Side condiments come out pretty fast and the pho literally a few minutes right afterwards. Broth is made ahead of time so that makes it easy when arranging the dish. I normally get the special, which is number 1. Basically comes with everything. You can add extras for an additional fee. It does the job and I've always been satisfied with the meal. Price wise is really good. It's affordable for a big hearty bowl. Food has always been good. After a fiery debate with my Vietnamese hairstylist about Pho spots in LA, she convinced me to try this particular one and in this particular location only. I've been to other locations, but the hairstylist said that this one is the original one and it was more special and of higher quality. She was absolutely right! I ordered Pho Tai Chin bowl, that comes with brisket and rare steak. The large portion came in a huge bowl and the broth looked great-- clean, clear, without any weird tiny things floating around. It tasted very fresh, healthy and delicious and nourishing. The noodles were perfectly cooked, not sticking to one another and perfectly complementing the beef broth. The meats, both the brisket and rare steak that cooked itself in front of me, were very tender, lean and tasted great. I normally dip my meats into a combo of hoisin and sriracha sauces and send it right into my mouth. Into the pho bowl itself, I like to add the provided thai basil, jalapenos and then squeeze in 4 pieces of lime. I finish it off with hoisin, sriracha sauces and I mix everything up. What you get is a completed pho soup creation as recommended by the fine folks in the Vietnamese community, that's also a Top 3 Pho in SFV in my book. Verdict? great, delicious, good quality pho spot, with very generous portions. The place is large with 20 some tables to accommodate many parties. The customer service was good. Was feeling a little under the weather, so what's better than a nice hot bowl of pho? I ordered for pick up and my order was ready right when they said it would be. The staff when I got there wasn't the most friendly, but I was just popping in and out so we didn't have too much of an interaction my order traveled well, including my Vietnamese coffee. Online instead of the Vietnamese, coffee was strong, and they weren't lying. It's really good! I ordered the Pho Ga and I was surprised that the chicken wasn't dry. I feel like they experienced that a lot with chicken pho. There was a piece of chicken bone in my soup which I didn't really find appetizing. the broth was good, however, and the bowl came with lots and lots of noodles. The large size was almost too big for me, but it was only $1 to get the large. overall the prices were pretty fair. I would order takeout from this place again. I have been coming to this place for years, particularly on Friday's after a long week of work. My comfort food. However, the service just gets worse! I called and the lady told me I'd get a free soup that I opted not to go get. Went today, and decided to give it another chance, ordered a small chicken pho. Extra greens on the side. What did I get? A LARGE! Charged for a large, and no green. Just 4 tiny leafs of basil. When I brought up to the girl that I had requested extra greens, onion, and Jalapeños, she argued. Then went to the back and only got 4 pieces of Jalapeños. I wanted to leave the food and get a refund . They are open because of their customers! this is my go-to pho restaurant. perfect plaza to get my groceries at (bangluck market) and nail supplies (magic nail supply). the parking lot is almost always full and is kinda set up weird so drive carefully! there is also parking along reseda. there is a big dining area-- i've never had to wait to be seated. the pho comes out very quickly. this visit, i was very happy to see there was a really good amount of meat in my bowl! i like to keep my steak at the top of my bowl to keep it medium rather than overcooking it in my broth! make sure to ask for sliced onions on the side! i also love the fried spring rolls wrapped in the fresh lettuce for a nice crunch. the quality is very consistent here and i don't recall any problems. head over to the front seat area to pay because they typically don't bring the check to your table. read more

If you want delicious pho in a HUGE quantity, then Pho So 1 is the place to go. Im not sure if there's parking behind the store as it's located on a busy street. Every time I've come here, I've been lucky to find street parking (metered). The prices here are great. I like to call them "inflation busters" because they didn't exorbitantly raise them like other restaurants. For that reason, it remains a staple in the valley and a strong competitor to other chains in the area. The broth is delicious and the meat portions are generous. I always come here when I'm craving pho. There's a 3% service charge if you plan to pay by credit card, no minimum, if that's something that you need to know. Came here on a rainy and dark Tuesday evening around 6 pm. Plenty of parking behind the business. We were greeted and seated immediately. I was surprised and happy with the number of options on the menu. I would definitely like to come try their other entrees besides pho, such as the rice porridges or the specialty items. I always struggle with not getting pho at Vietnamese places, even though I love other Vietnamese dishes, I'm always craving a "simple" soup! Maybe next time I'll choose something else while my partner gets pho and we can share. I decided to get a large #18 pho tái (rare steak) and the #83 chá giò (fried egg rolls). I have gotten both of these items at Pho 999 next door so I wanted to compare. My partner got a large #14 and an avocado smoothie with boba. The food was ready quickly and service was fast and friendly. The pho was delicious. I could taste the spices and the richness of the beef broth. They provided a ton of rice noodles. Nothing to complain about at all, a delicious bowl of pho. The egg rolls were a bit on the pricier side but were also delicious! There were 4 thick ones with fried rice paper wrapper. The flavor was strong as was the fish sauce dipping sauce. It was served with lettuce, cucumbers, mint, and pickled carrots and radish. Now to compare to pho 999: they are both delicious. I prefer the pho tái at pho 999 because they give more broth (and I think more meat) and less noodles, which is my own preference. The broth at pho 999 also has stronger spice flavor but I think Pho So 1 broth is more beefy. The fried egg rolls at Pho So 1 are a million times better, I wouldn't get the pho 999 ones again because they are less flavorful (albeit cheaper). Pho 999 has a strong flavored avocado smoothie. Pho So 1 has a more expansive menu but Pho 999 has longer hours. So in conclusion, both are good choices depending on what you want. I will definitely go back to both, potentially getting items from both locations at the same time! read more

Super rich and steamy broth spooned to perfection. This pho joint is great for generous portions crunchy savory egg rolls and creamy sweet avocado smoothie. It's mine and my partner's holy trifecta. We came for the first time on a Sunday night around 8pm. The parking lot behind the restaurant had a lot of availability and there was not wait to be seated or served basically!! It's all indoor seating from the looks of it and had a good amount of tables and workers. The service remained great and proactive through out our experience. A lot of noodle, unfortunately it didn't come with beef balls even though it's considered a combo meat (I know some other Pho places do), also to give credit on the menu it doesn't show meat ball on the combo list, so at least they are clear about that.
