I've been coming here for a long time, and it's been amazing to see how much they've improved and revamped everything over the years. The place looks great, and the quality has only gotten better. What really keeps us coming back, though, is the service. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they truly make you feel valued every time you walk in. We always feel like VIPs here. Great food, great service, and great people--highly recommend!

This is my FAVORITE spot. Consistently great food every time. The pho broth is top tier, and the egg rolls are perfectly crunchy and full of flavor. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the space is clean and inviting. I've tried so many pho spots all over LA, and this is the one. The broth is clean and rich, and the noodles are always cooked to the perfect consistency.

Whenever in the area, we always come here especially during the cold and rainy seasons. I haven't been in a while so I was very surprised to see they've updated the entire restaurant. It looks very clean, simple but very pleasing to the eyes. We always get a big bowl of soup which I can never finish so I take home half of it. Broth is very flavorful and delicious. Meat is tender. Veggies are fresh. Service is fast. Free parking in the back of the restaurant.

The last time I was here was more than 15 years ago even before it was renovated. Ambiance: this place is now different from before. I love how clean the inside is and newly renovated. What I love the most is that they dont leave the clean untensils, saucers on their tables like any other Pho places, they give them to you and it is place on a small basket complete with soup spoons, real utensils wrapped in napkins, and tissues. One of my only concern which was the same as my last visit was, the long hallway entrance in the back area, it is still the same, it has this weird smell that I have to cover my nose and it kinda look nasty...i just hope they has renovated that back entrance as well and made it more welcoming and inviting. But over all the inside of the restaurant is neat and clean. Food: ordered SEAFOOD pho, Yangchiw Friedrice and Vegie Fried Spring Roll. EVERYTHING was delicious! So flavorful and decnt amount for the price. Service: Everyone was friendly, fast and helpful. We'll be back for sure.

Cold night, perfect for a hot bowl of pho. This spot was conveniently on my way home from work, which made it an easy choice. There's a dedicated parking lot behind the restaurant--always a plus. The interior is huge, and the servers were very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the large bowl of Pho Dac Biet along with cha gio. The broth was clear, flavorful, and leaned slightly on the sweeter side, which I enjoyed. The egg rolls were tasty and nicely done as well. While nothing quite beats pho in the SGV, this place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the SFV.

This was our go-to pho for the last decade, but over time, the quality waned and we transitioned to Pho So 1... BUT since the new ownership, the tables and menus have changed for the better, as well as the food! Pho Dac Biet was $12 and Goi Cuon was a whopping ~$7. The broth is now clearer and has more depth in flavor. Parents and I are a fan! However, the meat:noodle ratio kinda lacking; it could use more meat. The sauce for the goi cuon wasn't our fave and the rolls themselves weren't bad. On a Tuesday afternoon, we got seated immediately as there were only a handful of tables occupied. Service is relatively fast. Will pass on the goi cuon next time, but def coming back for the pho

Not worth eating here. The food is just bad, nothing can help it. There is no quality control too. I have not been here in a long time, and now I remember why.... The food is not good! And nothing has changed. The egg rolls were probably the best thing, and even then, it was mainly filler inside. The fish sauce is horrible! Who the heck made that?! Must be old as heck? Bad bad bad taste. Even adding lime and garlic chili couldn't really help it! Inside is spacious, and we went on a rainy day, it should have been packed! Nope, it was quite empty, why? We should had known and just walked back out, but we tried.... The pho broth was weak and not great, so I asked for nuoc beo which translates to water fat, the fat on top of the broth, all the flavor.. still not great. The meat was not cooked long enough, it was very hard and chewy. We ended up leaving most of the food and just calling it quits to go eat elsewhere.

I don't eat pho but my boyfriend does, so when he feels like eating pho I will happily accompany him and get a rice dish. Sadly for me this time when my food comes out my meat is cold, like it had been waiting out for a while. This was really upsetting on top of the fact that we waited a long time to order. However I did order some pork rolls and those were warm and delicious so I was happy to fill myself up a little with those!

A local Vietnamese pho spot! I like that this spot uas had a nice interior remodeling! The lighting is brighter and wakes you up when you come here for a late dinner. It also seems like the TV was upgraded too. Ambiance is calm and relaxing everytime one comes here. Easy process with choosing what you want from their laminated menus. Staff here are full of smiles and bring out your food quick. It feels like the pork chop plate has kind of slowly gotten more bland, (same with the egg rolls strangely) but they are still yummy. Pho here is pretty adequate, I usually add more sauce and flavors with the condiments left on the table. Pretty easy dining experience and there's metered parking (but you need to pay, unless after 8pm!) plus a parking lot in the back.

Ordered the vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and beef.

Ate the whole thing! Been coming here for 10+ years and will continue to come here. Some of them even recognize me. A go to spot!

My husband and I are frequent visitors here, and the pho is absolutely amazing--just like the bowls we grew up with back home in Vietnam. We love that we can mix and match and customize the meat combination depending on what we're craving that day, and even order an extra bowl of meat when we're feeling extra hungry. The manager has noticed that we're regulars, which makes the experience even more special. He's given us free drinks when our family came to visit, and once even surprised us with an extra bowl of ribeye bone--so delicious and incredibly thoughtful. It's little gestures like these that make us want to keep coming back. The food is consistently flavorful and comforting, exactly what we expect every single time. This has truly become our go-to spot whenever we miss pho and can't think of anywhere else to go. We always bring our family here when they're in town, and we never leave without full, happy bellies and warm hearts

The place itself is not that big, maybe 8 tables throughout? They looked short staffed because the person cleaning up the tables was also the person taking the orders and bringing the food, while it seemed like only one person was working in the kitchen. Nonetheless, service was good and the wait was worth the quality. They've got some other viet staples like banh beo and banh xeo which I have to try at a later time. We ended up getting the fried calamari as an appetizer and it was surprisingly good like Italian restaurant quality, and of course eggrolls. The eggrolls were fresh and crispy and I appreciated that they actually give you a lot of lettuce and herbs to wrap with them. For the mains we got the bun cha Hanoi and bun thit nuong. I think without the appetizers the portion sizes were a little smaller than I would've hoped for but the taste of both were good. This place is a quaint, little hole in the wall with quality, authentic Vietnamese food that exceeds expectations.

The fact that you get 5 is still nice. Whenever I'm in Reseda, it's really only to go here. Trust me, it's worth the trip since this is my "go-to" Vietnamese restaurant for 23+ years. Appetizers: Egg Rolls - 9.8 / 10 Quite possibly the crispiest, crunchiest egg rolls literally anywhere on the face of this planet. These are the egg rolls by which any other egg rolls that I eat is measured by. Granted my "Filipino Card" could be revoked for saying this, but if I had to choose between these Vietnamese variants over my heritage's Lumpiang Shanghai , I would have to go with the former. Soup / Pho: #9 Pho Ga - 8.5 / 10 I usually order rare steak pho myself, but since the person whom I always go with orders this, we just split a large rather, she's nice enough to me 1/3 of her generous large. I appreciate the simplicity. A pure, clean, chicken consommé with thick, juicy slices of chicken breast. I really only ever eat chicken soup when I'm sick, but I will gladly make an exception for pho ga. Entrée: #43 Bún Nem Nu'óng Thit Nu'óng (Heo Hoac Bò) (Charbroiled Pork or Beef, Grilled Pork Ball with Vermicelli Noodles & Vegetables) - 8.9 / 10 Hot take: when I usually get Vietnamese food, I don't get Pho unless it's raining (I know, I'm weird with this weather / temperature psychological thing). That said, the #43 hits the spot every time. Do yourself a favor & get this with beef (you can choose between charbroiled beef or pork). The (sliced) pork meatball is like a nicer, meatier spam. Throw that on some chilled rice noodles & round that off with some sliced vegetables (cucumber, carrots, daikon radish) & you've got a nice variety of flavors + textures. Bonus points for always getting directly seated as soon as you walk in. Looking back, I'm glad that one of my sister's former boyfriends introduced her to this place back in 2003. It had been a while since I visited my places in Reseda and I wanted to see if they're still as good as before. Sandwich Express did not disappoint! Back in the 80's I lived in Northridge and had a Vietnamese co-worker who was a friend and fellow foodie. He introduced me to banh mi and Sandwich Express, and I'm so glad he did! Starting with their amazing banh (baguette rolls), they're baked fresh daily. They're crisp on the outside and perfectly soft in their interior. Not too dense or thick - just the right crisp and airy bread to filling ratio that you want in a banh mi! You can also buy baguettes to take home. Back in the day they were 3 for $1! Yup, apparently I'm that old... today they're a couple of bucks, but still worth it. Sorry I failed to take pics of my sandwich when it was freshly made, I was just so excited to go back in time to this little corner of Reseda that looks like it hasn't changed! The photo shown is the next day.. and that's only HaLF of the sandwich! The lady at the counter was so sweet! Don't assume rudeness for challenges with communication. I was nice and she was kind in return. There's a language barrier and at first she was shy, but once we worked through the English-Vietnamese translations with the help of Google, I was able to ask her if they sell Kho Ga La Chanh (Chicken Jerky) - and she ran excitedly to the back and produced a sealed bag of their homemade jerky! Not the same flavor profile as the stuff I buy in San Gabriel Valley, but it's a start! I'll bring them a sample the next time I get a batch to see if they can mimic the sweet spice. Theirs is a little more "five spice" forward. I placed my order for a #1 "Dac Biet" sandwich, "extra pâté, extra veggies". That's my default sammie by which I judge all Bánh Mi and I'm here to say that even a day later, right out of my fridge it's still THE best Banh Mi in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys! Bright, fresh, generously filled.. and the magic bread. I happen to know that a local chain of popular phô restaurants buys their bahn (rolls) daily from Sandwich Express to make their own sandwiches and to serve with their Bho Ko (stew)! If you're wondering for reference where my bar is set, my go-to banh mi spots in San Gabriel Valley are Bánh Mi Hue Thai and Banh Mi Hoa Phat. ~IYKYK~ What has changed at Sandwich Express? It's not just sandwiches anymore AND they have a few tables inside where you can sit down to eat! They don't have my beloved Soda Xí Muội (salted plum soda) or the lime version either. Just canned and bottled American sodas, but that's not a deal breaker. Check out the posted menu pics. Bún Bò Huě, Bò Kho.. the owner did suggest calling first to make sure these items are available on the day you want to come, but she boasts that it's very authentic! They even have broken rice dishes with grilled pork chop (Cóm Tãm Súòn)! I read in another review that the original owners sold. I don't know if this is accurate or when it happened.. but I didn't see the older people that were often in the kitchen so it's possible! Back to the changes - they have desserts now, too! They also cater! What?!? No longer cash only, they accept Visa/Mastercard. I'm so glad we stopped! They still hold the #1 spot in the area. Convince me otherwise!

The lady at the counter is one of the rudest people I've ever met. 2 stars because the older man…read moreis nice and their bahn mi's are decent. I called and tried to order off the menu I found on Yelp. Apparently I tried to order something they don't have anymore (beef stew) and she started yelling at me and hung up on me. I still wanted the bahn mi's, giving her the benefit of the doubt and assuming we got disconnected. Nope, she hung up on me again . By then, I was only a few minutes from the restaurant so I walked in. She realized that I was the one that called, she gave the stink eye walked away. The older gentleman stepped in, and helped me. Mind you, I was patient and polite with her the entire time. Not sure if she's the owner or an employee, but she seems either ultra sensitive or just hates people in general. I understand sometimes there is a communication barrier and cultural differences, but this woman is straight up rude. She needs to retire. If she's the owner she needs to hire someone that doesn't hate people to replace her.

Love Pho, and this is a great spot here in Northridge. Been here many times and started a review…read moreand realized I never finished it. The restaurant itself has a lot of seating, all inside, nothing outdoor at this location. Inside is clean and practical. It does have a beautiful painted mural along the entire wall which I don't believe was there before, but whomever did it, did an excellent job, pretty cool. The staff is super friendly, the food comes out fast and they come around often making sure we had everything we need and keeping drinks full. Places that keep my drink full are places with great service typically. I almost always get one of the Pho soups, but tonight I decided to get their Cornish Game Hen with veggies and rice, a chef's special. It was very, very tasty. The hen was done with a really crisp outside and super tender inside. I added jalapeños and cilantro as well. Excellent choice. My wife got her vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and egg rolls with fish sauce on the side. This is also an excellent tasting dish and I would recommend either of these as well as the Pho here and pretty much everything here tastes amazing. Unfortunately, I did not get shots of the menu. They are located at the corner of Nordhoff and Reseda. Large parking lot with plenty of parking. Enjoy!

I don't understand the raves and great reviews... but what do I know…read more. The service was ok, not great, not attentive, quite slow. There wasn't even a lot of people there. The inside was decent, at least it was clean. The food.. man, I was disappointed. I hoped the banh mi was going to be good, because we don't have a good banh mi place in the valley. The ones down the streets are hit and misses all the time, just depends if you're lucky. This one let me down, and the server was boasting that they make the bread in-house with their own secret recipe... sure buddy, too bad it's not that great. The pho was a let-down too, the flavor was not great, nor was the quality of the meats. Not worth the try.

Ordered take out and this did not disappoint…read more Haven't ordered here before, but my go to is pad Thai and chicken satay. The pad Thai was great- the noodles were saucy. The chicken satay was good as well- the chicken was juicy even though sliced thin. Overall, I would order from here again.

Its in an old strip of storefronts right off Reseda, with street or parking behind the building…read more Atmosphere inside was pleasant enough, you can see the kitchen and has a long bar along one wall. We got there minutes past their lunch time so ended up ordering from the dinner menu. It wasn't very crowded two other tables were occupied. We're not huge eaters, but unanimously agreed that the portions weren't generous especially compared to the price point. One person in our group ordered a yellow curry (vegetarian with no tofu) for $19.95. They literally got a small bowl and for some reason had to order the rice separately as an add on, it was ridiculous. I'm not sure if that was a one off or the waiter randomly decided it would be extra, but every other Thai restaurant I've been to includes the rice. So essentially all my friend ordered was a small bowl of vegetarian yellow curry for $20... I ordered the Khao soy which was good, and the third person was satisfied with their Kung Pao shrimp. I'm giving it the 3 stars for the service which was fast and he was on it.
