Yellow curry needs more fish sauce. It was too sweet. Server was nice but did not pay attention at all. He spoke with 2 other men who were visitors of the restaurant occupied this server's time, talking and laughing and never paid attention to our needs. Thai tea was tasteless. Egg rolls were ok but red sauce was a nasty taste. Cream filled dumplings were good. My dad had a tooth ache tonight and wanted some soup that's easy to eat. I told him my go-to place for soup is Jaopaya, but I moved out of the area and haven't been for a while. Told him to order our go to - lemongrass hot & sour soup with pineapple fried rice on the side. When he brought it home, I accused him of ordering the wrong dishes. It was THAT different, and not in a good way. Then he mentioned there was a sign that says the restaurant is under new management. The hot and sour soup had tomatoes in it, and extremely sweet. Threw me off. I'd never reorder. The pineapple fried rice also doesn't taste the same, and the pineapples are a dark orange color. Extremely confusing - we weren't sure if they were even pineapples. Great food, quick service ( in person and take out) and close to work so added bonus. I've visited twice in the last few months and always delicious. Nothing too fancy inside but the food is exceptional. So far I've tried the veggie egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, shrimp pad see ew, sweet and sour pork and of course the Thai tea. Everything is fresh and huge portions, you'll always have left overs. Otherwise easy street parking in front and a small lot in the back as well. Man, I'm not sure what happened. Jaopaya used to be my go to! This last time they really dropped the ball. My order was wrong and the pad Thai had absolutely no flavor. I even had my husband try it because it was so weird that it didn't taste like anything at all, only oil. Also, no shrimp like I ordered (and paid extra for). Tom yum was good, but had like four pieces of chicken in it which was disappointing. Maybe it's because I ordered takeout later in the evening? Regardless, this was a complete miss for me. There was a perfect blend of sweet and savory, with a substantial portion that was enough for two meals. I also enjoyed a thai tea along with my dinner. It was a nice addition and was delivered without ice, which meant it did not get watered down before I was able to enjoy it. The amount of sweetness in the drink was perfect. We can here craving some Thai food for dinner. My girl friend and I had experienced their food before but through another friend of ours who recommended we order to go and we would just eat at their place. So after remembering where they were located, we decided to go. We came in hungry and ready to eat. We looked at their menu and decided to order the Dinner combination of pad Thai chicken and shrimp, pad see ew, red curry and combination fried rice. The food was so good!!!! All three of us were silent eating our food because of how good and tasty it was. The food came out really warm and ready to eat. Once we got all our food we just dove right in. We kept eating and even forgot that we ordered their Thai tea. The lady who was serving everyone was so nice!!! We were patient of course do to her being the only waitress/waiter. When she finished taking our order, she even have us looked over our order on the pad she was writing on to make sure it was right. And we definitely appreciated that. She also walked around a lot to make sure the customers and us were doing well. She even refilled our waters and Thai teas!!! She was amazing!!! At the very end, I was so full that I finally had time to look around and appreciate the decorations they had. Right above our table there were cute elephants. And I love elephants!!! The place was amazingly decorated. They do their best to keep it clean for sure!!! You can tell with the atmosphere of the place. I have ordered through DD several times, and this last time was a disaster. The pad Thai was literally tasteless. Not kidding--it was like they forgot the sauce! I have attached a photo to demonstrate that the dish looks great, but look at the color--there is no flavoring at ALL in the dish. Zoom in on the noodles - lots of oil, but that's it. Have you ever seen Pad Thai that lightly colored/sauced? I haven't. Completely tasteless. I have had a *lot* of Thai food, and obviously Pad Thai and Pad See Ew are the litmus tests. This is one of the best Thai places around. I came in for lunch (orange chicken, Chinese Broccoli with Crispy Pork, and Shrimp and Noodle soup). Total bill with tax and tip was $39. Service is great, and they check in on you often. Food is delicious. Much less sugar than other places on the orange chicken. I have a feeling they make their own sauce, because you can actually see orange slices in it. Also, it doesn't feel like a sugary, pre-packaged type thing. I order from this place via Door Dash a few time's but only remember to leave a review this time. Their dinner special is a great deal. I've had their red curry which is pretty good but really it's the price which I find attractive about this place. The fried rice upgrade for $1.50 is definitely worth it.
