Came here as part of my Yelp rounds and this Thai spot absolutely impressed. From the moment we walked in, the aroma alone told me we were in for something legit. The food was outstanding extremely bold flavors, perfectly balanced spices, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. The Pad Thai I ordered had that ideal sweet-tangy depth, the curry was rich and comforting, and the appetizers disappeared for way too fast. You can tell the kitchen knows exactly what it's doing. Service was on point friendly, quick, and attentive without hovering to much, The staff made great recommendations and really added to the experience. The vibe is warm and inviting, not overly fancy but still feels like a place you'd bring friends or even a date. Solid energy all around. Incredible food, and incredible value. We regularly try to come up with a reason NOT to order at Awesome Thai and we can't. For a fraction of the cost of most other fast casual food, it's tasty and the portions are very big. Not to mention they don't skimp on the protein in their dishes. Rounding up to 4 stars but really might be closer to 3.5. I've only ever gotten takeout so can only speak to that. Portions are generous. That's always a plus for me when it comes to Thai (or Indian) food because when you see the little 2" container in your brown paper bag, you get sad. And mama don't wanna be sad. Price is reasonable. My wallet doesn't run and hide when I want to place an order, which is a plus for me, and the business, because I end up ordering more food. None of the curries come with rice. OK, I get it, me... see above for your comments about pricing and stfu. But it wouldn't hurt to throw a rice in for a larger order, amirite? As far as the curries, I've tried the panang, the green, and the yellow. The panang was a big miss for me so we never got it again. I like the flavor of the yellow but the potato is always undercooked, which is a bummer. The green is just what I expect and enjoy. The drunken noodle is second only to my favorite Thai place of all time, which is high praise from me. I really enjoy what's going on here. Recently tried the crispy sole and that was a hit. Also the papaya salad is a nice fresh appetizer to break up all the heavy foods. Will continue to try more of this menu and report back! read more

Delicious Tom yum! I live very close by, and often crave Tom yum soup, but am a little picky about it. The sourness factor must be there, with zero sweetness. Awesome Thai got it right! Why did I only discover this Thai place now? My husband and I enjoyed everything I ordered (Drunken Noodle Medium Spice with chicken, Chicken Satay, Yellow Curry Their yellow curry here is one of the best I've had!! Lots of chicken, potatos, carrots. It's very flavorful and the curry sauce was amazing like I could eat rice just with the sauce itself. It is on the thicker side too which means they did not dilute it with too much water unlike other thai place where curries are too watery and couldn't taste the flavor. The Drunken noodles (medium spice) ...OMG this is to die for!!! I love basil and I never knew this kind of noodles has it. Its better that padseeeew and it also has flat noodles FYI. As for the Chicken satay, it comes in 6 sticks with generous sizes per skewr and it goes well with their very yummy peanut sauce!!! The best peanut sauce I've had ever!!!! with Chicken). I ordered ours through Uber eats but based on how my order was prepared and request were accomodated, I couls tell that they provide such high customer service. Lastly, they are so generous too, I asked for extra peanut sauce and cucumber for the satay and they did gave me the extras which nnormally other Thai places just ignores my requests. Their lunch special is 10/10 and I've been ordering it for years. $10 for enough food for two meals is INSANE in this economy. They are just up the road from me and the food is always piping hot and extremely fresh. I will say that I've only had their curries and that I've not tried their other dishes- however my husband is fond of their Pad Thai and absolutely hated curry until trying this place's version. While it's certainly not 100% authentic- it's literally the best you're going to get in Los Angeles because Los Angeles has a severely lacking Thai food scene. Awesome Thai is literally SO AWESOME! This has been our go-to UberEats spot since last year. The prices are great, especially with the discounts on the app when you order over $30, and the food tastes amazing. I used to work at a Thai restaurant with Thai chefs, so I'm very familiar with Thai food, and this place has authentic Thai food. My boyfriend always gets Pad Thai, and I usually go for soupy dishes. I've tried their Boat Noodle Soup, curries, Tom Yum, and Tom Ka - haven't been let down by a single one! We got Pad see-ew last night and it was DELICIOUS. It's take out only with no seating available, however the layout of the restaurant seems like it used to be a sit down restaurant prior. The orange chicken was crispy, albeit the sauce was slightly slimy. The pad thai leaned too heavily on tamarind and fish flavors. However, the pad see ew shone with its delightful taste. I was cat/house sitting in my old town where i was raised when I had a craving for some Thai food. So one day as I was walking with my daughter I walked passed this place and decided to try it out, twice! Man is it delicious. Flavor after flavor. This review will be mainly a comparison w Box Thai. We usually order from Box Thai but they up charge for online orders and found this place to charge the same items for $5-8 less. Our usual Thai order consists of: - Tom kha soup 4.5/5 on medium spicy level. Compared to box Thai, it is much more creamier so it looked more coconut milk. It still had the tangy taste but I prefer box Thai's because that one is more tangy and spicy and less creamy lol - more balanced by a bit. Portion is equal as BT's and charged $13, where BT charges for $17. - crab fried rice 5/5. Used real crab like box Thai and $8 less for the same portion (cost $14 where BT charged $22). Tasted really great too and compares to BT. The one con I'd say is they leave huge slices of tomatoes in there so it takes away from the soup. I prefer if they were cut in fourths. - spicy drunken noodles at medium spice level 4/5. Same portion as BT but cost $11 ($6 less than BT). Medium spice definitely had the same kick but we didn't think the flavor hit as high as BT. Overall, I would go back to order again as you can get the similar taste and quality for less cost for a place 5 mins away from our usual Box Thai order. read more

It was one of those nights where I did not want to make dinner and came across Awesome Thai while searching through Yelp! It's pretty close to me and I'm surprised I've never been before. Once I placed my order it was delivered about 45 minutes later which I was super impressed by. I got the Pad See Ew and it was my first time ever trying this dish and it was delicious! Love the noodles it comes with. I added a side of white rice for $3 because I like the combination with my noodles. The Thai Tea ($4) was also good and it made sense to add one with my meals.
