If I go back to recall one of the first Thai restaurants I had visited when I settled in the SFV, it would be Thai Bamboo. This is another eatery that has stood the test of time. That alone should tell you that the only way that can happen is that the food got to be good. And yes, it always has been. That is a feather in the cap to the Chefs. They have a wide menu with numerous selections and mouth watering pictures of their dishes. In the good old days, I used to come here for dinner. Now, it is more for lunch. This way, I get their wonton, soup and salad too. The salad has too much peanut dressing (I think it is sauce) and I should have remembered. It destroys the salad. This time the soup was served luke warm and was diluted. The main dish, Pad Prik Khing with Beef was a knockout. The beans were well cooked and soaked, like the tender beef slices, in a thick and spicy (I asked for that) gravy. The aroma, the Thai spices, the taste was exotic. Decided to stop by for lunch during the week and it was a great experience. Parking is hit or miss with the Tesla charger station being right next to the restaurant. Staff was friendly and sat my group immediately. The Thai Coffee and Chicken Satay stand out for me. Not too loud inside the restaurant and there is outdoor seating as well. Very disappointing experience. I ordered the house special butter chicken, spicy Thai basil beef, and fish with ginger sauce, and none of the dishes met even basic expectations. The food was extremely bland and poorly prepared. The spicy Thai basil beef was basically a pool of water with what tasted like boiled beef, no proper sauce, no flavor, and nothing close to authentic Thai basil. The fish with ginger sauce was just as bad, watery and lacking any real ginger flavor. For the price, this is completely unacceptable. There was no quality, no attention to detail, and no authenticity in any of the dishes. It's honestly hard to understand how food like this is being served. I hope management seriously reevaluates their kitchen standards, because this was a waste of money and a very frustrating experience. read more

Came to try their pad see ew and boat noodle which were very Americanized. Pad see ew had carrots (authentic does not) and (mostly) broccoli stems; flavor was too sweet. Boat noodle soup was not good; tasted like it came from those instant noodle packets with meat that was questionable. I've seen this place for awhile but finally decided to try it out. It's a small restaurant with a covered patio. Nice and chill. It's also right in front of a Tesla Supercharger if you need that. You can literally eat and watch your car at the same time lol.. There are a lot of parking spots but it can get busy since there are other restaurants and stores in this plaza. But nothing too crazy. Still pretty convenient to park. I had the Chicken Yellow Curry. I like spicy food but I started with medium just cause I wasn't sure of their levels. Also so my friend could try it. Perfectly mild for my taste but definitely will try hot next time. Either way it was really good! My friend got the salt and pepper chicken. So nice and crispy with jalapeno. She had Thai ice tea which she said was really good. I had the Thai ice coffee but it was a bit too sweet for me. Next time I'll see if I can have it less sweet. The menu has pictures which made it hard to decide. They all look good! Definitely returning to try other dishes, like the house special shrimp. This is my Thai restaurant go-to in SFV. I've been here many times and their dishes all have been delicious! I really like their wonton soup bc the broth is so garlicky, salty, sweet, and tasty to my soup-loving soul. They serve a good combination of veggies and meat. I also recommend their specialty Thai Bamboo rice dish which is stir fried protein of choice with a side of veggies and rice. Very delicious and filling as well. Of course, the drunken noodles are bomb here! My gauge for Thai restaurants is how well they cook their drunken noodles. They surely passed. They have good lunch combo deals too. Service is decent. Thai Bamboo was highly recommended to us by our friends. So glad we decided to try them out. This eatery is very welcoming and bright. It has positive vibes. We love how the sun shines through the windows. The lady at the counter and our awesome waiter Anthony was excellent. Anthony even made recommendations and we were happy to oblige. We ordered the Salt & Pepper with chicken, Yellow Curry with chicken, Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea. Our meals came with white rice. The yellow curry was delicious. Spicy level is medium with chunks of chicken breast. The curry is very flavorful. Glad we tried it. Salt & Pepper chicken are battered chunks of chicken breast with black pepper and salt along with jalapeño. This was very fulfilling and really good. We also enjoyed the Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Iced Tea. The taste of the coffee was just the right amount. It was not too sweet. Can't wait to eat here again and try other food items on their menu. Wanted to try some new local Thai food, and stumbled upon this restaurant. I order a chicken pad see ew, spicy fried rice, and a Thai iced tea. Let me start with the customer service, the lady taking my order was very pleasant and had a warm personality. The ambiance and the vibe of the restaurant was nice, small restaurant and can have people sit outside and enjoy your food. Now the best part, the food was absolutely amazing and very tasteful. I wish the spicy fried rice was a little spicier but overall tasted amazing. Thank goodness the Thai iced tea tasted really good and authentic, it's hard to find a place that does good Thai iced tea. I walked into Thai Bamboo in Northridge expecting lunch. What I got was a full-blown quest worthy of The Lord of the Rings. I ordered the curry chicken, extra spicy--because clearly I feared no mortal man (or digestive consequences). One bite in and I was sweating like Frodo in Mordor. That curry didn't just have heat; it had a fiery Balrog living in it. And I, foolish mortal, chose to pass. The Pad Thai? A comforting Samwise Gamgee of a dish--reliable, a little sweet, and the true hero I didn't appreciate until the end. By the time I finished, I felt like I'd crossed mountains, battled internal demons (read: spice), and come out stronger. Doordash / delivery review. Got a $100 haul of food for my birthday while I'm sick. Ordered some tried and true favorites and tried some new amazing stuff. Favorites: Tom Kha Soup: 5/5. ORDER THIS IF YOU ARE SICK (or not). The broth is creamy and tangy and loaded with veggies. My brother tried it and said: "it tastes like everything!" Which it does lol. I always feel better after I eat this. Crab Rangoons: 5/5 crispy even with delivery wait. My wife is not a fan of Thai food but said these are the best she's ever had. Great filling and perfect dipping sauce. Pad Thai: 5/5 the classic is great here. Sweet and tangy sauce. I like to get a side of their crazy awesome peanut sauce to dip the (sometimes bland) pieces of meat in. Pad See Ew: 5/5. Chewy flat big noodles in a great sauce... kind of tastes like the pad Thai sauce and American brown gravy had a baby. Packed with perfectly cooked broccoli and carrots. Great scrambled with an egg the next morning for leftovers (if available lol). New tries (in order of mind blown): Larb Salad: 5/5. The name needs an upgrade but HOLY WOW. The best way I can describe this is ground beef ceviche. It's cold and marinated in a sauce that feels like a punch to your tastebuds. Acidic, complex, and herbaceous in a way I've never had. "Cold ground beef salad" isn't a huge selling point and I didn't have high expectations when someone else said this is a must order. I will get this every time now. I got my food scissors and cut up the big pieces of cabbage to make it a more uniform salad. Would be crazy good in a lettuce cup and healthy/high protein. Yellow curry: 4.5/5. I'm not a huge fan of yellow curry with Indian food but this flavor is amazing and completely different. Deep warm spices and over the top creamy. The only downside is the chunks of potato and carrot are way too big! I made a bomb "fried rice" the next day with the chopped up leftovers. BBQ Pork Ribs: 4/5. These are over the top if your bar is oven baked ribs. If they were even kissed on the grill they would be a 5/5. I tried this restaurant once and honestly cant remember why I never went back. Well.... I was in the parking lot charging my Tesla and kept smelling something that smelled delicious. I decided to try the restaurant that was sirectly facing me and went to order while my car waa charging. I ordered the thom khai seafood coconut soup, the fried tofu and the chicken sate. Everything was really good. The soup was literally amazing. The flavors were perfect. The chicken sate was excellent as well. I always get extra cucumber sauce. The fried tofu and sauce were also delicious, although the tofu was a bit watery. Still tasty and fried perfectly. All of the food items ordered were really fresh. My main entrees of the spicy eggplant and pad thai were delicious. However, the service is why I'm only leaving a 4 star. I should leave a zero star but I know how impactful reviews can be to a business. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer. First, it looked nothing like the photo. It came out drenched in batter and you wouldn't even recognize the dish. I showed my server and he said he'd make another one for me to go and I said it's too late now because we already ate our meal. I don't understand the service of "well, unlucky kitchen staff made it poorly". Instead of crediting us for the appetizer- they apologized. I will never return here or recommend this place. Even writing this review upsets me because the main entrees were delicious. Thai food is, for sure, one of my top choices for Asian cuisine since it combines the two things I love most in terms of food: insane amounts of sugar and muscle-building levels of beef/chicken/seafood. This places was... just ok? The service was excellent but Thai people in general are warm, friendly, approachable and overall wonderful so, for me, that has always been a given when going to any Thai place. The atmosphere was great. The place was clean and there's even outdoor seating. The food? I came here with my boss for lunch and he made some interesting observations that I didn't quite catch, since my head is usually in the clouds: the wings were Costco wings that had been deep fried from their frozen state, but the center was still cold. Also his Spicy Basil Chicken was just ok. I, on the other hand, had Beef Pad Thai and Chicken Satay, cause I'm basiq :D. The Pad Thai was quite decent but the noodles were a bit on the thinner than usual side. The Chicken Satay was quite good. I did like the place but given that I've tried so many other places since moving to SoCal from Florida (a state sorely lacking in good Asian food places) in 2019, it definitely did not crack a spot in my top 3. Speaking of which, my top three Thai restaurants in SoCal are (in no particular order) Taste of Thai in San Bernardino, Pailin Thai Cuisine in Thai Town, and Kanok Thai Bistro in Costa Mesa (P.S. I also love the Oxford comma). This place is definitely good if you're in the San Fernando Valley and don't feel like driving insanely far to satisfy your Thai cravings, though. I always enjoy the food at this location. One of my favorites is their Silver Noodle Seafood Salad which is Silver noodle with assorted seafood, red onions, green onions cilantro marinated in sweet lime juice. Also a great choice is their Seafood Red Curry which is Shrimp, squid, fish fillet, mussel, imitation crab meat, bamboo shoot, bell pepper, and basil leaves with red curry paste in coconut milk. The flavors are delicious and well worth the try. The staff is great as they will answer any of your questions. Parking is in their lot across from the Tesla charging station rows. read more

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in the valley! Also one of the most reasonably priced Thai restaurants around, while also providing great quality! All their soups are amazing, some of the best Tom Yum with Shrimp you'll find! Love their Pad Thai, BBQ chicken, and my absolute favorite is their Green Coconut Curry with chicken, which is so savory and packs a punch with flavor and heat and lots of veggies. Great lunch specials too! The ambience is pretty basic, but nice & clean!!! Service is usually good, but I've had less than stellar service a couple times, where it was very obvious the waitresses were not having a good day or would sigh/show a little bit of attitude when I'd ask for something simple, like hot sauce on the side. A couple times during dinner, we'd be sitting waiting to order, and the waitresses and waiters were either scrolling on their phone or watching some sports game on the TV, and we had to get their attention multiple times. I ordered the boat noddle soup last time and same thing. I don't know what it is about the soups but it always comes out extremely tasteless. Good thing I ordered a beef salad as well because it was the only thing that was tasty. Probably won't come here unless it's a last resort thing. Not sure if it's under new management, but I've came here for years and it wasn't till after Covid that I started to not like the food nor the service. I've always loved coming here and never had an issue until today. I called to place an order, but the background noise was so loud it was nearly impossible to hear. Instead of acknowledging that, the staff blamed me and said they couldn't hear me. When I called back, a woman answered and was doing a great job taking my order, but again the loud background talking made it difficult. She kept saying "you're breaking up," when really it was the noise on their end. I was almost finished placing my order for the glass noodle soup (shrimp only, no chicken, with a lemongrass broth), when the man I spoke to earlier suddenly got back on the line. He was rude, condescending, and again told me he couldn't hear me. At that point I just said to cancel my order, and he hung up on me. Very disappointing experience from a place I used to enjoy. It's a no for me. My 1st time eating at this restaurant. I've had Pad Krapow on the east coast and San Francisco (the best I've ever had) and this is the worst. Chicken had no flavor, no effort cutting up the peppers and hardly any basil which is the staple of the recipe. This was nothing more than bland chicken stir fry drowned in nasty sauce.
