#74 Charbroiled Pork Chop with fried eggs
    Mary A.

I've been to the Devonshire location before, and in my opinion, it's better. I ordered the #74 Charbroiled Pork Chop with fried eggs. The pork was really good and flavorful, and the food came out pretty quickly. However, there were a few issues. It took a while for someone to take our order, as the staff seemed to be talking and laughing behind the register. The rice also tasted stale, and the knife given to me still had food residue on it. Overall, the pork was good, but the service and food quality/sanitary issues made this visit disappointing.

Pho So 1 was one of the least impressive Vietnamese spots I've been to--especially for California. The broth in both the pho and the bún bò Huế tasted... off, and the noodles were soft, soggy, and overdone. The bún bò Huế in particular was disappointing, with more bone than actual meat. To their credit, it was a busy night (surprisingly it was still not too noisy) but there was still plenty of seating, and my party of three was seated quickly. Service, however, was inconsistent. There seemed to be too many wait staff, as our table was approached 3-4 times within the first few minutes to see if we were ready to order. After that, it was the complete opposite--it became difficult to get refills or even flag someone down for the check. We eventually got tired of waiting and I had to go up to the cashier just to pay. Overall, not a great experience. Between the underwhelming food and uneven service, this isn't a spot I'd go out of my way to return to.

I ordered the Pho #1 and egg rolls, and they were both very good. The broth was flavorful and perfectly seasoned, while the egg rolls were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The service was friendly and attentive, and there was plenty of parking available, which made the visit even more convenient. Overall, a great experience, and I'd definitely come back again. Oh and the thai iced too was good as well. Decent overall pricing.

Today was our first time dining at Pho So 1 in Chatsworth. It is located in a shopping center and their entrance is on the street side. Upon walking in, we were greeted with friendly faces We were quickly seated, and had our order taken. We both placed an order for a number 18 which is chicken and chicken broth. The broth was tasty, the chicken was soft, and the noodles were perfect. The bowl was a 10/10. The service was insane because we placed our order and we got our pho is less than 5 minutes, lol. Overall, I was greatly surprised with their service and cleanliness for being as busy as they were for dinner time. I will be back!

Large menu of Vietnamese food at a spacious clean restaurant that's great for large parties. We tried a beef vermicelli salad and a hen with red rice. They were not bad, but not great. The noodles and rice were cooked well, but the meats were on the dry side. If we return, we'll need to try what they are known for, the soups. The service is very speedy. And plenty of free parking in the lot.

I've been a Pho So 1 frequent customer for years, and while I've visited every location in the San Fernando Valley, this one is my favorite. The space is clean and bright, and the service is fast. The food is consistent between the different locations. This my go to spot for Vietnamese food in the valley.

Went here on Friday night to try out this branch of Pho So1. My partner ordered rare steak which is no16 but when the soup got in the table it no15 with tripe here they only have one size huge bowl but it's not hot enough. I ordered the charbroiled beef & egg roll with rice & pickled veggies. The beef is on the dry side while the egg roll is so crunchy and dry not the usual texture. The evening is not that busy lots of available table we didn't wait. Music is not loud. The server took our order as soon as we're seated. The restaurant has a clean well lighted dining area and right number of staff to customer ratio.

(+) Reliably fast, almost suspiciously quick but you know it's an efficient kitchen (+) Clean, bright, one big open room (+) Big bowl of pho and the usual topping accessories, perfect for a cold winter evening or rainy day (+) Boba drinks, smoothies, slushies, usual colors & fruity flavors (+) Pay at the front, tell them your table #, that's authentic Viet style right there

The new Pho spot in Granada Hills is ! Super clean, fast service, and no-nonsense authentic Vietnamese food. We stopped by before heading to the Dodgers game, and it did not disappoint. The Pho #1 combo with the egg roll was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend checking this place out.

Been to Pho So 1 plenty of times before finally sitting down to write a real review. I've tried both the pho and the Bún bò Huế here, plus their egg rolls. The egg rolls are next level--super crispy, not greasy, and perfect for wrapping with the herbs and lettuce. I've had egg rolls from other Pho So 1 locations, but the ones at this spot actually felt lighter and less oily, which I loved. The pho has been consistently aromatic and comforting on the days I visited. The Bún bò Huế, though, wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to, and the noodles were cut surprisingly short, which made them hard to pick up. The pork leg/shank was also on the tougher side. I'm used to getting a different veggie plate with BBH, so having to use the standard pho herbs was a bit disappointing. The interior is modern with tons of big TVs--great if you want to catch a game while you eat. Service is quick for the most part, but I'd skip the bánh mì. Mine took over 30 minutes to come out (even after checking in at the 15-minute mark). It wasn't anything special flavor-wise, and they forgot the mayo, so it was pretty dry. Overall, for what it is, I'm happy to have another solid pho spot in the Valley. I'll definitely keep coming back for the pho and egg rolls.

It was the perfect evening for some Pho. Apparently everyone else thought so too! We first went to the location near us, a smaller restaurant and a crazy wait. We ended up at the Chatsworth location which is quite large inside, with a waiting area, lots of tables and an about 8-10 counter seats. It went pretty fast, once we put our name down. I ordered the Pho with rare steak, brisket and well done flank. Hubby got the beef stew Pho and my son got the vegetarian Pho. All of our orders were quickly served, large portions, perfect temp and really delicious. What makes Pho So1 most appealing to me is that they use rice noodles, which are great for my gluten sensitivity. They have a large menu and everything that I saw looked really good. Definitely recommend trying Pho So 1.

I love this place just as much as their Devonshire location! This place is cute and updated. I love the service! It's some of the same people from their Devonshire location so I was received with the same warm welcomes as I always have. I am a repeat customer to the Devonshire location because of quality and affordability. I will be a repeat customer for the same quality and service here. My #6 was a delicious and hefty with protein as always. Spring rolls with pork and shrimp are a must try.

This is the 3rd Pho So 1 I've been to and the new location in Granada Hills is the same as all the others in the best way possible. Service is fast, the food is fresh, and you leave here with your belly full while somehow feeling refreshed. Interactions with some of the staff can be "off" at times, but it's due to a language barrier, so I would never hold this against the restaurant. The interior is the nicest and most modern of all the locations I've been to, so this will be my go to for the up coming chilly months!

The chashu was disappointing: lean and chewy--more like steak found in pho than the tender pork I expected. The wait for a table was long in the hot sun during lunch. And it's still an inconvenient location to get to in terms of parking--little Tokyo is as busy as ever. We had to share a table with some other, really loud patrons. The air conditioning was broken. I got the fried rice, previously one of my favorite side dishes here, but the Yakimeshi rice was too dry and disappointing. I added garlic and soft boiled egg to my ramen. The garlic flakes were too big/strong and overpowered everything. The egg was good. Since the noodles and broth are the most important parts and were both decent, I'd keep this place at around four stars. But there are a lot of other ramen places to try in the area. Original from years ago: Overtook Daikokuya as my favorite ramen place. I love so much about the place except the wait. And the parking, which doesn't validate as long as it used to. Beef was tender and moist and loved the caramelized onion too. Rice was delicious too, not dry nor mushy. Served with pickled red ginger. A very satisfying bowl. Sat at the bar, so watched them make udon from scratch, which was nice. WAIT LIST There was a line when I got there, just as it opened. It wasn't long, but everyone wrote their name down on a wait list. There's a sheet of paper placed on the table outside. Please write your name down ASAP, as that will help in making sure that you will grab a seat. Also, the lines are disorganized too, so it's best to write down your name, so no one cuts in front of you. It is a small restaurant. Limited seats. CUSTOMER SERVICE It was okay. Everyone got in the restaurant in the order they came in. Service was quick and there were no delays in taking orders. The server came by quickly and dropped off the check as she saw that I was nearly finished with my meal. PARKING Parked at Joe's Autoparks. It was $15! I did not know until after I paid the ticket. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. There was another parking garage next to Joe's, but the price was the same! Would I come back again? Not sure. Given that the udon wasn't what I expected, it may be my last time here. That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. It's the kind of detail that softens an otherwise middling meal. So, Little Tokyo ramen crawl: two down, verdict still out. The people have been great. The noodles? I'm still waiting to be impressed. I actually became aware of the existence of this restaurant *because* they had a happy hour sign out in front, advertising, among other things, $4 salmon poke "tacos" (which was definitely actually a tostada, but still), and $3 nigori sake to go with it, which sounded pretty bomb - when I passed by the sign on my way to an event at Death & Co nearby, I took note of it but wasn't interested in food. However, when I left that event, an event I thought was going to provide a lot more food than it actually did, I absolutely *was* interested in food, and remembered that the sign advertised not only a traditional happy hour (open until 6 weekdays, 2:30-5:30 Saturday/Sunday), but also the same prices during a reverse happy hour (8 to close weekdays, 9 to close on the weekend). Given it was, at that moment, just after 8 on a Wednesday, I knew exactly where I was going to get the second half of my dinner from. Funny enough, I will say, the salmon poke that drew me in, was just... good. Don't get me wrong, if I were offered them for free, I'd eat at *least* a dozen. They were quite tasty - also like 2 bites worth of food (so eating a dozen of them would not be remotely difficult to do.) Salmon poke is wonderful, but if I wanted poke, I'd go find a poke place - even $4 felt a bit pricey for the size (they're $6 when it isn't happy hour), so I'm glad I decided to also try their karaage. Their karaage is BOMB - some of the best I've had, honestly. $7 for a 4-piece order of their karaage, by contrast, feels like a very reasonable price, and $5 (during happy hour) an absolute steal. Great karaage, great sauce, super fulfilling. The happy hour on karaage would be enough of a draw by itself - but separate from that, so would the $3 happy hour on sake, including both a regular house cold sake and a nigori. As you can see from the picture, they also intentionally overpour their sake, which is not only a very pretty presentation, but also an impressive amount of sake for $3 (heck, for DTLA, a pretty impressive amount of sake even at their normal $5 price). They also have $6 happy hour shochu/sake/juice cocktails that looked pretty good, though I didn't try one. Service was great, too - sometimes you can tell a restaurant is less excited to serve someone who clearly just came in for a drink and a snack, but that was not my experience here. Verdict is, I definitely want to come back and try their ramen sometime, but I would definitely make sure to do it either before or after their prime dinner hour, to take advantage of happy hour pricing. (And I would definitely get more of that karaage as a side. I will probably also make a point to do so as a snack, subsequent to any future events I go to in the area that end around 8 on a weekday, as well, for as long as that happy hour remains such a draw, price-wise.)

Every time I've been there hasn't been a wait. Price (4/5): To compensate for taste I do think the price needs to be lowered a bit. The tsukemen to me was definitely worth it. Ambiance (4/5): Cute little modern shop. It won't fit many big parties but it is perfect for duos.
