I recently was in search of a new sandwich spot here in the valley and saw an Instagram post about this spot. I was really impressed with this Sando, and the bread is really really good. It was nice to have a sandwich that isn't just stuffing a bunch of ingredients in it. Will definitely try again.

BBQ Chicken Flatbread without Onion and Cilantro
Jordan S.

I ordered take out and got the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. I enjoyed it and liked the white sauce they used. I was eager to try the flatbread that I ate a slice before taking my picture haha. Nonetheless, it was pretty good! I took out the onion and cilantro and I was happy with that decision. I think I would add more BBQ in the future or ask them if they could. Parking is okay. The parking lot is usually busy because there are many stores in that area. Staff were nice as well.

This new sandwich shop in Porter Ranch is awesome! Their sandwiches have so much flavor! Great service, clean restaurant and so many choices to pick from! They have sandwiches, salads, soups & flatbreads! I got the Brisket sandwich and kinda just chose my toppings but everything tasted hot & fresh I loved it! If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely stop here and try something else!

Had a followup visit to Sourdough & Co. today where I dined in with my mom for a lunch date. We had the pleasure to interact with Cesar & Randy. Cesar was extremely kind, and Randy made our sandwiches to perfection. This was a 5-star visit, it was clean inside & pleasant to sit & enjoy some delicious food. You gotta try the Guava Lemonade to cool off on a hot day. Service was wonderful, we can't wait to come back.

Stopped by today and got the turkey pesto sandwich , the bread was the star to me, really good sourdough with a nice chew. I will be back to try the French dip and a few other hot sandwiches that I saw them preparing while I was there. Friendly fast service.

Sourdough & Co. in Porter Ranch is bringing fresh, quality comfort food to the neighborhood. Their signature sourdough is the star soft on the inside, perfectly crisp on the outside and the kind of bread that makes any sandwich instantly better. The deli style sandwiches come stacked with fresh ingredients, and the soups pair perfectly for that cozy, satisfying combo. The shop is bright, clean, and quick with service, making it an easy go to for lunch or a casual bite. A solid addition to Porter Ranch for anyone craving simple, well made classics.

My mom found this new place off of Facebook and wanted to go check it out to see if the reviews were telling the truth about how good this place was. This place is located in the busy porter ranch plaza, surrounded by other local restaurants. Upon entering this place, we were invited by welcoming workers and I wish I would've gotten her name but she was amazing. She gave us her recommendations on her favorites and other customer popular items on the menu. I appreciate that she took my allergy into consideration. The food was overall good, however I don't think it is worth the price point that they are selling it at. At that price point I would rather go to Jersey mikes or another sandwich place. The inside the restaurant, you can sit and enjoy your food but outside has amazing scenery to enjoy it as well. Overall not too bad

Great bread! That's the only thing I liked about their sandwiches. We ordered pastrami and ham they asked us 101 questions!!! Hard to understand what the they were asking and I had to repeat few times what I wanted. The meat portion was very small basically you are paying for bread and lettuce!!!! Small little 4" sandwich costs $10 and the 6" $14. Much prefer Jersey Mike's or even better, Brent's deli. I rather pay a little more and get a better sandwich.

I have a love of San Francisco sourdough and I've always wished there was a restaurant that could give me my beloved clam chowder in a bread bowl so I was so excited to see Sourdough & Co. was coming to Porter Ranch. I was so excited to find a place that would be able to scratch that food itch. Unfortunately, the mark was missed for the whole experience. I came in about 40 minutes before closing & was the only one there. I thought to myself 'Great! Should get quick service!' Unfortunately, the man working the register had to have me repeat my order 3 times (clam chowder in a bread bowl and a drink. Nothing crazy) and then took forever to put it in the POS. Maybe he was new. I don't know. But it was somewhat annoying. Next, I sat. And sat. And sat. Took maybe 10ish minutes for my meal to come out. I know that's not a ton of time, but when you're the only person in the restaurant and you're just asking for essentially a scoop of premade soup, I expected things to come out almost instantly. I think it might have something to do with the fact that they toasted the bread bowl (a nice touch I will admit) but even with that it felt like it took way too long to come out. The soup itself was ok. Plenty of clam in there which I appreciated. And it was decently thick. But it was overly salty and I would've loved some celery or some other veggie mixed in for a variety of texture. What I really was disappointed in, however, was the bread. Like I said, the toasting was nice. But the bread tasted more like French bread than sourdough. It was soft and lacked that distinct sour flavor that I have come to love. It was just...not what I was hoping for. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Very inviting. But, my experience just left me wanting more. And maybe I just had an off experience. I will probably go back and give them another shot, but will try something other than the soup. I can forgive a single bad customer service experience. But if they aren't nailing the sourdough, the item the restaurant is named after, well I just can't recommend it.

Cup of clam chowder

My mom and I decided to try this new sandwich business once we saw it in the shopping center lot. We seen that it was new and it only has been open for a few weeks and when we went inside they had a really good menu and others I was inside eating Gave good feedback on the food and said that it was good so we had to try it. It's pretty quaint inside and small, but very cute and very clean. Customer service is very exceptional and they have really good personalities and take their time to prepare the food fresh. I ordered a small cup of clam chowder and the turkey sandwich on gluten free wrap. The clam chowder was so fresh and hot and very delicious next time on my cheat day I will get the bowl with the sourdough bread. My wrap was very good too and it made me meet my calories for the day lol. The prices are a little higher than an average sandwich spot but as well worth it cause it's very good quality and great taste ! I will come back here ASAP because I do want to try their Caesar salad with the side of soup. They also have a kid menu that's reasonable if you have kids. Is plenty of parking it's right next to Ralph's in shopping center in Porter Ranch. Plenty of parking ! I highly recommend -Marshay D.

Italian flatbread

Sourdough & Co. A sandwich so small, it brought tears to my eyes from laughing at it!.... So I stopped in after seeing a few Yelp reviews and figured I'd check this place out. Walked in and was greeted by a young employe and an older manager. Super friendly staff. I asked about the Reuben sandwich and if it came with Thousand Island, and they looked at me like I asked for a spaceship. Nobody knew what that was. LOL So I asked what they do put on it, and they told me it comes with their house spread. It's a roasted red pepper mayonnaise with honey crystals, garlic, onion, and some other mysterious "proprietary spices." I also made sure it came with Swiss and sauerkraut, and they said yes, so I went for it. I got the small because I also wanted to try one of their flatbread pizzas, which they claim to be famous for. I ordered the Italian to keep it classic. The Reuben came out first and immediately started laughing. It looked like two sliders. I've never seen a sandwich that small before. I mean, ten bucks and the pickle was literally bigger than the sandwich. But here's the twist. It was actually really good. The sourdough roll was soft with a little crunch, the pastrami was tender, the cheese was melted just right, and that coleslaw with the house spread gave it a creamy little kick. Tiny but tasty. Then the pizza came out and saved the day. Great size, plenty of cheese, pepperoni, olives, bell peppers, onions, and that sauce had a nice tang to it. It had that comforting, familiar flavor but still felt fresh. So overall, I had a good time here. The staff was cute and friendly, even if they didn't know what Thousand Island was. I just wish the sandwich was closer to sandwich size. Would I come back? Maybe. It was weird, funny, and honestly pretty tasty. So who knows?

French Dip Sandwich
Steve S.

French Dip Sandwich: 4.9 of 5 Sometimes the first bite tells the story and my first bite was incredibly special, it was love at first bite! I ordered the french dip sandwich and as I bit into it, I initially tasted the freshness and the flavor notes of the hot sourdough bread--perfect crisp on the outside and pillowy on the inside. As my taste buds worked their way past the awesome bread, that's where I tasted the thinly sliced beef, which was temperature-hot as well, tender, juicy and just very flavorful. And as you dip the sandwich into their au jus, the delicious bread is soaked in the sauce, the flavor profile amplifies and you're taken to Flavor Town. A pretty perfect sandwich. I was very impressed by the texture and the flavor in each bite. You have a choice of a 6 inch or an 8 inch and I went with an 8 and never looked back. The customer service was on point and the place is small, clean, with a few tables inside. Definitely a good addition to the Porter Ranch neighborhood. Will be back for more!

I went to Sourdough on Wednesday with my sister. As always we had a great lunch. It has become our go to place before knitting at Starbucks! What I love is the food is always fantastic and fresh. The restaurant is spotless and the staff so friendly . I had the bbq pizza flat bread and had plenty to take home for the next days lunch. My sister had a Cobb salad that she said was so fresh and wonderful that dressing was not needed. I cannot wait to go back on Wednesday and try something new! Oh wait we haven't even talked about the cookies that rival mine. I'm especially partial to the lemon or chocolate chip. They are crunchy and soft at the same time and Make for a great afternoon snack! I can't say enough about this pka

A little bit of not too much this cost me $25 for a sandwich smaller than my hand.

But as beef stew goes...it wasn't stew-ish enough. Mostly because it has some strong seasonings, and the pieces of beef were cut really small, so it was more like a beef stir fry. That said, it was really tasty. Very flavorful, and the quality of the beef was good. I can see myself going there again. As for he place itself, the staff were nice, though going at lunch meant they were a little (and understandably) distracted. The website makes it seem like it's just for pick-up or delivery, but they have a couple small tables, both inside and outside. And I do mean small. Two people max. There's also a decent sized parking lot (the place is in a mini mall), and there's usually street parking, but at the moment Wilshire is under construction, so plan accordingly.

There is sometimes street parking but the availability is rough, it's tough to park, and even one of the meters we ended up at just didn't work. They only charge a $5 cash service charge though, which isn't bad. We were lucky to be seated right away, even in a packed restaurant. The restaurant has a surprisingly modern design, and is comfortable for as small as it is. We were quickly served their signature kimchis and barley rice. The kimchi, particularly the yeolmu (young summer radish) kimchi, has a unique flavor profile well suited to their food. We ordered 2 bowls of their plain kalgooksu, 1 bibim milmyun, and 1 tteokbokki. The food came out fairly quickly. The kalgooksu was as expected the star of the show. The anchovy broth brings a savory complexity that seems impossible for a soup made from just dried fish and a few other ingredients. It even has a rich, almost thick, quality to it that is surprising for a fish broth. Their noodles, the titular kalgooksu, have the signature irregularity and chew of knife cut noodles. I appreciate the vegetables that always come in kalgooksu, like potato, pumpkin, and zucchini, which offer an earthy heartiness to the light soup. My only complaint is that the potato is in huge irregular chunks, and is barely cooked, though I feel like I have had this issue with many of the kalgooksu bowls I've had over the years. The bibim milmyun was solid. I think that I prefer the texture and flavor of naengmyeon buckwheat noodles, but the milmyun, which are made with mostly wheat flour, still provide a satisfying chew. The sauce tasted bright and fresh, especially with a splash of added vinegar. It also came with a small side portion of spicy pork and some rice paper to wrap. The tteokbokki was the one let down of the meal. To be fair, I wasn't expecting much out of tteokbokki at all restaurant like this whose specialty is essentially the opposite. I ordered the tteokbokki as a "safe pick" for a picky eater in the group. It turned out to be a bit mediocre in our opinion, and that friend ended up enjoying their kalgooksu anyways. If you're looking to try this dish, it's definitely one of if not the best I've had in Southern California, so I'd totally recommend it. I'll also warn to steer clear of the Garden Grove restaurant of the same name and specialty. I think it's a disappointing mimicry of this place.

When you come in, there is a sign that tells you to order before being seated. My sister and her bf had yet to arrive so I placed a sizeable order for the 4 of us. Luckily, they were there (waiting in the car) so I told them to walk over so we can be seated. I ordered 2 orders of chiayi chicken (1with white rice and 1 with brown rice), 2 orders of thousand layer pancake (1 with egg and 1 with egg and cheese), shrimp wonton, dance dan noodles, wonton noodle soup, hakka mochi and forbidden rice pudding. For drinks we had a few of the shaken iced green teas and 1 taro milk tea (my sister said it didnt taste like taro) Everything was great. I was surprised my sister's bf liked the food. The chiayi chicken was good with a bit of the chili sauce (sambal). The thousand layer pancake was good if you dip it in the black vinegar (mixed with chili oil and a little soy sauce). The shrimp wonton were surprisingly light and tasty. The dan dan noodles was balanced my medium thin sliced cucumber. Everything was portioned very small so you can try everything.we didnt get additional sides because were getting full. The desserts was what I was looking forward to and it did not disappoint. The hakka mochi reminded me of the soy pudding stalls in singapore that had mochi balls filled with a black sesame paste and peanut paste inside. This is what the hakka mochi was but in dry soft chewy form with black sesame and peanut grains to top it off. For my sister, it reminded her of the filipino dessert pichi pichi. The forbidden rice pudding reminded me of a soupy version of the filipino dessert biko. It had chunks of sweet potatoes and tapioca. Also very good but my bias is the hakka mochi. It's been sitting on my saved list for a while, and honestly, this turned out to be the perfect opportunity. The space itself is bright, clean, and welcoming with warm woody tones throughout. Casual setup where you order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I had already looked through the menu beforehand, so the real challenge was narrowing down what to order for one person. I failed at that... and I'm very happy I did. Started with the Pig Ear Salad 滷豬耳朵. Braised thin sliced pig ears dressed with soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, scallion, and cilantro. OMG. So good. Tender, flavorful, perfectly braised, with that satisfying chewy texture done right. Also got the Fried Peanut Salad 五味花生 with garlic, cilantro, scallions, vinegar, and Thai chili. Super crunchy, bright, refreshing, and honestly addicting. I added a cup of the Hot & Sour Soup 酸辣湯 too. Organic tofu, beech mushroom, carrot, bamboo, woodear mushroom, and egg. Super comforting with a really balanced tang and peppery heat. Not overly thick or heavy like a lot of Americanized versions can be. Exactly the kind of soup you want during a long travel day. For noodles, I ordered the Dan Dan Noodles 擔擔麵. Sesame-peanut sauce, cucumber, cilantro, crushed peanuts. Delicious on its own already, but I ended up adding some of the fried peanuts from the salad into the noodles and it became even better. Then the Three Cup Chicken 三杯雞 with sesame oil, soy sauce, rice wine, and Thai basil. I do wish it had a little more wok hei, but overall the flavor was still really comforting and savory. Extremely good with rice. Had a glass of Gewürztraminer alongside everything, which paired surprisingly well with the spice and aromatics. Their wine list leans more organic / natural wine focused, which felt very LA in a good way. Ended up sitting at a high top next to one of the managers and had a great conversation throughout the meal. She ended up hooking me up with the Traditional Shaved Ice 傳統刨冰 with grass jelly, red bean, boba, sweet potato balls, taro balls, brown sugar syrup, and condensed milk. I was already planning to order it anyway, and wow... I finished the entire thing. The brown sugar syrup was incredibly fragrant. Packed the leftovers to-go, and that ended up becoming my dinner after landing in San Francisco later that evening. Flight cancellation somehow turned into a really great food day.

I understand that it's a busy Sunday evening, but there is no one at the counter to take the order…read morefrom a long line of customers, but there's sufficient time to redirect traffic because the line was getting so long that was blocking the entrance.. It's very poor workflow, not to mention negligent customer service. The management should really take notice before business goes under.

I've noticed a lot of people ordering other dishes every time I go, so I'm definitely looking forward to trying more of the menu, but I keep coming back for the basics because it's just that good.

We also added beef brisket since my friend wasn't a big fan of cartilage - more for me! The pot itself wasn't too deep, though there was a good portion of protein cartilage. Also important to note that rice was NOT included! The brisket add on came as a pre-cooked brisket that was added in after, as it didn't initially fit in the pot. The staff member told us at the time that broth refills were free. However, when it came time for refills, they said it was only one time - poor communication. Paying was fairly straightforward, but for future visits, I'd likely just come for their lunch special sullongtang after this experience.
