HAIR on pizza :_( and it's DEFINITELY NOT MINE! My family and I have been coming to ChiChi's Northridge for a very, very long time! Never have I had bad service or bad food. I always get a cheese pizza and it's usually perfect! Not this time, sadly! I usually will say something to the server, but this time I did not only because I was with my 7 yr old niece that loves the cheese pizza here and if I were to point that out to her, that would've been the end of it and she's already picky to begin with. That's why I sent an email right away. I emailed with a picture and let them know what happened. I did not receive any reply. I also messaged them on Instagram and did not receive any reply. So I hate to do this on Yelp, but I have no choice. I was really upset and grossed out/disgusted. PLEASE do a better job of checking the food that goes out to customers. I am very big on customer service and had I received a response to my email or message on Instagram apologizing or something that would've made me feel a little better and I wouldn't have written this review. It hurts me to do so. Acknowledging me and the situation and speaking to the kitchen staff to make them aware and pay attention to the food that goes out. I have worked in a kitchen. Chi Chi's pizza is definitely a family favorite. Their pizza is good. There's spaghetti is bomb and their ranch is very tasty! The staff here are nice. The restaurant is a typical Italian restaurant. One of my favorite pizza places! But I have to say--their pressure-fried chicken with potatoes is amazing. So hot, crunchy on the outside, soft and juicy inside. I was so obsessed with the chicken that I had to take the pizza to go. I've been here many times, and the taste is always consistent, with the same friendly staff working here for years. I've been coming here for years with my family and it's never disappoints. It was super empty during lunch time on a Saturday but the food was all fresh and amazing! We started off with their sourdough rolls and butter, always hot and fresh. We also got an anti pasto salad,and pepperoni pizza. The salad is fresh and filled to top with veggies and mozzarella cheese, also comes with a generous side of Italian dressing and ranch. The pepperoni pizza was yummy as well, next time I will ask for it to be cooked a bit crispier. The kids pizza also came with a side of house made potato chips, I had no idea they even made these here. They were cooked kettle style. Providing feedback on the establishment and the cost associated to dinner for 2. Haven't been to Chi Chi's in 10+ years and nothing has changed except higher prices. The restaurant is beyond dated, the Men's restroom resembles a truck stop in the middle of the desert - it was beyond gross and disgusting! It needs immediate attention and a remodel if they're going to charge $90 for 2 small salads and 2 individual sized pizzas - we will NEVER go back based on what you're paying for. Hands down my favorite go to spot for Italian food. Brought my mom here for her birthday. We ordered our favorite antipasto salad, hands-down one of the best. I love the cheese they use! This is one of my dad's favorite places to eat for past 15 years or more, so it has a lot of memories for me. This particular location is pretty busy on Friday night. Their pizza is delicious and actually one of my favorite things to add to my order is their garden salad with Italian dressing. They nail the marinara sauce perfectly so you MUST order a big side of it. My dad loves their juicy meatballs and orders it as an appetizer before pizza comes. They even make their pasta from scratch! My dad came here from Italy when he was a teenager so for him to love the food here, that says something. They stay consistent. I'm not saying it's authentic Italian, but it's pretty darn good Italian-American. Our waitress handled a table of 10 of us with ease and a smile and we really appreciated her. Would be 5 stars but the decor is outdated, chairs look beat up, and it seriously needs a good cleanup and re haul. But...I'll always come back here with my dad and siblings. read more

I visited this restaurant twice last week, and unfortunately the same server Tom left a really negative impression both times. During my most recent visit on Sunday, I witnessed him yell very aggressively at one of his coworkers. The coworker appeared to be a teenager, and it was uncomfortable to watch. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, speaking to a colleague that way in front of customers felt unprofessional and created an unpleasant atmosphere. The food and restaurant itself were fine, but seeing an employee treat a younger coworker with that level of disrespect made the experience disappointing. I hope management addresses this and promotes a more respectful workplace. read more

I ordered what should be a simple order, an Italian Style roast beef sandwich, which was described as "Dripping with Beef Juice, Fried Bell Peppers." There wasn't a hint of peppers of fried peppers (not one) and it was not dripping with anything (although they offered a small cup of au jus). Not sure why it took us so long to try this place -- maybe because we don't make it out to Northridge often -- but I'm glad we finally did. The food was good and the experience enjoyable. What we ordered: a round of fresh salads. My mother added chicken strips to hers, and my husband had a Caesar with grilled chicken. We also ordered garlic bread (in addition to the complimentary bread), and for my daughter, a cheese pizza -- which was yummy. The restaurant is kid-friendly, well-kept considering how long it's been around, and offers solid salads and pizza in addition to other Italian fare which we'll have to try another time. The atmosphere has a charming old-school Italian diner vibe, so don't go in expecting anything fancy or gourmet. The food isn't "outstanding" in the traditional four-star sense, but when you add in the friendly service, generous portions, reasonable prices, and nostalgic feel, it all comes together to make this a solid four-star spot. The food was excellent. We had the following: -Buffalo chicken wings which were juicy and very flavorful. -Large pizza w/ Jalapenos, pepperoni and mushrooms. This pizza was incredibly fresh and was so good. Note that this pizza tastes even better the next day (Heat it in the toaster). -Pasta with meat sauce and meatballs were amazing. -Bread basket: fresh and so good. The service was the best we've had in a long time. Alex M. was our server and I can't even begin to explain how amazing he was. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Our server constantly checked on us, refilled drinks, and food came out very promptly. The food overall was okay. The sourdough rolls were really good. Grilled chicken salad was also tasty and probably one of the favorite dishes. For main dishes we got spaghetti with meat sauce and a small pizza to try. They claim to make their own pasta so I had high expectations. However the pasta was a bit of a let down. There was not that much meat in the sauce. The noodles did not taste freshly made. I loooove Italian food and this place checks all the boxes of what Italian restaurants are all about! As soon as you walk in you're immediately greeted with friendly staff. Our large group was seated right away and our server was super nice. We shared the wings and OMG, they were so darn good! Probably the best wings I've ever had! They also gave us warm rolls while we waited for our food to arrive, and I could've eaten the entire basket. My bf and I opted to share a combination platter which included spaghetti, cheese ravioli and rigatoni and it was so good. The homemade pasta was simply AH-MA-ZING! Having grown up in Santa Clarita, Chi-Chi's was an institution. I stopped here for the classic cheese pizza and I'm very sad to see they have dropped the ball so significantly. Sadly they all share the same hub kitchen and quality and flavor has declined at all the locations. The pizza which my family all used to love has fallen off the most. I was really disappointed with our catering order. We ordered 2 pans of shell pasta (each $66), tray of chicken, tray of eggplant Parmesan and dz rolls. This came out to $350 which included a $40 tip. The chicken was good and I was happy about the eggplant Parmesan. My disappointment is with the pasta. When I had placed the order I asked how many people one tray would feed. They gave me a range from 5-16 people which is pretty wide range. We had 18 people so I assumed 2 trays would be enough to give each person at least 1 to 2 cups of pasta. When we opened up the pans of pasta they were not completely filled. In the past these pans used to be filled to the top. Paying $66 I would expect the pans to be filled to the top. read more

Came here for a birthday celebration with a group of 10 (we made a reservation ahead of time) on a Saturday night. The vibe really felt like stepping into a restaurant in Italy with all the plants and decor, giving it that cozy, authentic feel. The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was creamy, rich, and easily shareable between 2-3 people. The Golden Pressure Fried Chicken was crispy and came with salad, potatoes, and a roll. Wings were crispy and juicy--we tried both the Buffalo and Golden Wings. The pizza (Chi-Chi's Choice) was solid, and just one slice was filling. For a group of 10, 1-2 pizzas, 1-2 pastas, and 1-2 orders of wings would've been more than enough. Parking is public in a shared plaza, so there were still plenty of parking. We've always been to their Lido Pizza location in Van Nuys and love it, so we decided to try Chi Chi's Pizza to see how it compares. Chi Chi's has much more space in Northridge than Lido and has better parking because of it. It's a shared parking lot (with Tesla charging stations if you're fancy schmancy) so it's never impossible to find a spot. The interior is huge with lots of booths, tables and a bar section near the front. There's also lots of natural lighting inside from the glass windows while Lido can get pretty dark! We ordered grilled meatballs for an appetizer and a medium 3-topping pizza (pepperoni, pineapple and mushrooms) for an entree. They served complimentary sourdough bread with butter while we waited. The food came out after a decent/fair wait. We weren't the biggest fans of the meatballs though and thought it was weird that they were served dry as the dickens! Sauce was served on the side but it still wasn't very tasty. The pizza was ok but Lido does it better. Overall, even though we liked crossing Chi Chi's off our list of places to try, Lido Pizza is smaller but better in most ways. Van Nuys surprisingly just has better ingredients than Northridge I guess! One annoying thing about both are the restrooms - you have to enter through two doors to get to it and they're small as hell (single person size). Chi Chi's has lunch specials Mon-Fri from 11AM-2:30PM if you're on a budget. Gluten-free options are also available! read more

At our time at Chi chis we ordered a margarita pizza and the spaghetti with meat sauce. The spaghetti was short from great. The pasta was just so rubbery and not enough meat sauce was put on. The pizza was good. The service was not great as we were ignored and had 3 other tables near us being attended to attentively by our same waitress, Kenya. Until it was time for us to leave that was when we finally were asked for a refill. The ambiance was nice but a few months back was much better and the service was more attentive back than that it is now. Overall won't be recommending chi chis anymore and won't be returning anytime soon. Unless they change their service and pasta from being abysmal. read more

Everything was delicious but the pasta sauce was salty. I didn't like it but everything else was fantastic. I've never been here but the moment we got out of our Uber drive over we were seated immediately with a great booth! As if they were expecting us!
