Greatest chicken in Los Angeles my favorite place in valley. Love this place . I bring my family here

Best Damn Neon Signage.
Randy B.

Finally had the opportunity to check out Best Damn Chicken in Chatsworth and it was definitely top-notch. Chicago Family-owned and operated, BDC brings the flavors and the fixin's. Located in a small, packed strip mall, the parking can be a bit of a challenge, but once you navigate inside, you'll be met with a loud, boisterous, "DAAAAMMMMNN...YOU HUNGRY?!" Why, yes...I am. Simple menu loaded with lots of delicious Southern treats including fried chicken, fried catfish, banana pudding among others. My girlfriend and I decided to share our orders of a 6-piece GRAN Wings and a 3-piece GRANDMA Catfish, served up with fries, coleslaw and banana pudding. My girlfriend also went for the blue Koolaid DRANK. We also got choices of various dipping sauces, BBQ, Mild, etc. Service was efficient and friendly. When our order was brought to our table, some sauces accidentally dropped on the floor, spilling some on my shoes. The gentleman was very apologetic and even offered us an additional banana pudding to take with us. I appreciated the hospitality and the kind gesture. The food itself was amazing. The chicken and catfish were fried perfectly. Not too crispy and not underdone. The seasoning is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Incredible flavor dressing some of the most delicious and tender fish and chicken around. I was definitely craving more! The fries and slaw were also on point. The Banana Pudding is also OUTSTANDING! Smooth, creamy, homemade goodness that left us wanting more. Which is a good thing, right? The Koolaid was sweet and delicious! The environment is relaxed. A few flat screen TVs showing sports and 90s Hip Hop, with some mellow beats pumping through the speakers. About a half dozen seating areas with chairs and booths to hold about 30-40 people on a packed day. Check out their midweek lunch specials as well for a great meal at an affordable price. Best Damn Chicken lived up to my expectations and beyond, with quality food, service and atmosphere. Forget KFC, the folks at BDC bring the Chicago heat and love to the San Fernando Valley. Check them out and support a great family-run business!

Randomly found this location, very hidden area. The server was pleasant and kind. Ordered the banana pudding. Enjoyed it, will have to try the chicken another time.

2 wings

Inside this plaza is a place with some of the best damn chickennn! I got 2 wings which were super yummy and my favorite part. The chicken was juicy and the breading was perfect. I got the classic sauce, but next time I'll get ranch. The classic sauce was a little too sweet for me. The fries were ok, not much seasoning on them. I got a red kool aid which was also pretty yummy if you're craving kool aid. The food took maybe only 15 min which was super quick. The service was great !!

I've already come to Best Damn Chicken twice and I can say without hesitation I will be back many many times. I had never had, let alone heard of 'Chicago style' chicken prior to visiting here. It's a fantastically flavorful, yet light breading. It has all the crunch you'd expect from fried chicken, but because it's so light, it's also not super oily. It almost feels like a 'healthy' fried chicken. I opted to get the sauce on the side so I could really experience the breading and I'm glad I did. I feel like the subtle seasonings would've gotten lost in their bold, flavorful sauce. The coleslaw that comes with the combo is very KFC-esque. It's up to your personal taste on if that's a good or bad thing (it's good in my opinion). Everything is incredibly fresh. You can tell all the chicken is made to order. It's piping hot when it comes out to the point where you really need to slow down just so you don't burn your mouth. Every time I've ordered, the food has been delivered by the chef as well which has added such a personal touch to the whole experience. I love it. The real star to me, however, is the banana pudding. I'm not going to lie. I'm not a huge banana pudding fan. But I have raved about it constantly since trying it the first time. It has a slight cheesecake texture to it and a bit of that artificial banana flavoring that I personally love. My only real complaint is that they don't have a large size. Best Damn Chicken is really amazing chicken. It's absolutely worth a trip and dealing with a small parking lot. I guarantee you won't regret it.

Kids Catfish
Jordan S.

Tried the Kids Catfish Meal from here and it was so good! If you are a fan of Catfish I recommend you try their catfish here. It's seasoned really well! The bread is just white bread so there is nothing special about it. The fries were good and had a little seasoning. The catfish was the star of the show though! It came with a fruit juice and they gave me grape juice. I wish I asked them for a different flavor because I was not a fan of the juice flavor I got. They have a parking lot so no need to worry about parking. If they have a lot of to go orders or mobile orders, you might need to wait awhile for your food. Had to wait awhile for my food due to this The restaurant did not have many people inside so it was relaxing. Staff is nice and friendly.

The Best Damn Chicken really is the best damn chicken! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was top-tier -- friendly, welcoming, and on point the entire time. The wings were perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor in every single bite. The fries were hot and fresh, the coleslaw was creamy and refreshing, and the Kool-Aid was the perfect sweet finish to the meal. and don't forget the banana pudding. OMG! Everything was delicious and the vibe was great. I'll definitely be back -- highly recommend!

Craving fried chicken, I found Best Damn Chicken on Yelp and decided to give it a try -as it rates so highly on Yelp. I ordered the 6 piece chicken wing combo (Gran) $17.99 and it comes with fries, bread and coleslaw. Such a deal for full chicken wings and sides. Seasoned shoestring fries and coleslaw were amazing. Now the chicken, you got to try it yourself -cause it's crispy, moist and has hints of lemon and pepper seasoning (lmk if you taste something else, lol). All very tasty. Choice of side dipping sauce -I got buffalo, but TBH doesn't needs the side sauce. Made fresh to order, so keep in mind the wait, but I didn't mind. Inside seating with a couple TV's -one of them had music videos, setting the vibe and it had 1 customer grooving. Service at the counter was nice and loved her warm farewell -with saying, "have the best damn day!" Lol, I did and your chicken added to living it. Small free parking lot, located on a corner strip mall -don't be sketched by the strip club on the same street but couple blocks away.

The fried fish. Be still my beating heart! This place is such a hidden gem. Some grade A soul food. It's a casual spot, with super friendly service. I was so surprised to see they had kool-aid. It took me back to childhood! I had the blue flavor and it was so refreshing, not too sweet actually! I ordered some wings with the hot sauce on the side and boy was it spicy! Definitely a hit if you are a spicy food fan. I got an order of the banana pudding for dessert and I thought it was incredible. I loved the soft cookies on top. Overall, a super heavy meal, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend!

Fried catfish and wings (both regular size)

I was craving some fried stuff and came to try this place out. It's kind of hilarious that the guy at the counter greeted everyone with a 'Damn, you must be hungry'. They were a little backed up so the food took a little longer to come out, but I think it was well worth it. We got the fried catfish and chicken wings. I typically use fried fish as my barometer for how good a place is, and they did not disappoint! I guess because it's a hot chicken style, it came with options of hot sauces rather than tartar sauce, and on a bed of a slice of bread, but I didn't mind. Their hot sauce is about as spicy as franks red hot (or maybe it was franks?), so nothing crazy there. The fried fish itself was more on the softer side of crispy, but the fish inside was great, not overdone at all! Also no complaints about serving size on the wings, even though it was only 4 of them. Definitely a great experience and will be glad to come back.

So we went back and Brandon recognized us! Had another amazing experience; - when has someone asked how you are doing from behind the counter? "How is the pizza Puff?" damn good I said! - Does that happen at other establishments? Service was over the top. - And it wasn't a floook, the wings were again meaty, not greasy, and the outside batter had a nice crisp to it and so flavorful, that's definitely special, I am a confirmed wing-loving-woman. - I Got to try the pizza Puff, and surprise, they come in 3 filling options, Beef, Pork, Spinach( vegetarian). Basically, it's a "Pizza Pocket"...yuummm. - Delicious!! 4 thumbs up, ok that's 4 Yelp Stars... - Hubby got the Catfish again, he ate it so fast, and didn't share,I never saw it much less was able to snap a pic of it. Needless to say, he liked it a lot. 4 Thumbs up. - - Now I have to go back to try the Pork & Beef Pizza Puffs!!! - While there, many take out orders flowed thru, obvious repeat customers. - And several walk ins were; like us greeted by name, more repeat customers coming back for the best darn/damn chicken, and we know why. - If you find yourself nearby, check it out. I'm so glad Maddy organized the Yelp Experience there back in February.

FRIES Regular

At first thought, to call an eatery, "Best Damn Chicken", could be considered pompous, if not presumptuous, at best. So I had to try it out, to see what it was all about, and if their claim was indeed, warranted. Especially, if you think of it, in the context of the vast sea of competing chicken places, in the SFV and LA areas. Can they produce the best chicken that I have ever had? Read on to find out. This establishment is located in Chatsworth, specializing in fried Chicken and fried Catfish. I got the Gran chicken wing four piece combo to go. It comes with coleslaw, and french fries (my choice) or you can have veg sticks (next time). When I was driving home with the package, the aroma was distracting and intoxicating. I wanted to actually stop by the side of the road, to chomp on it, but it took a lot of strength to resist. Instead, I had their fries while driving, which were super. So what about, the main attraction, which was the chicken? It was spectacular. Deep fried, but not oily, and not the usual over battered crispy coating. Instead, this formula used a mix of cornstarch, flour, and something more secret, to deliver a savory and smooth even coating that had a unique crunch and bite. The chicken meat in all the four pieces was tender and succulent. It was truly exceptional. The wings themselves, were not too big not too small just the perfect size to hug the bone and harness flavor. Easily can be, the "best damn chicken" wings I have had. Wow. Thank you for that and for the high class carry out customer service.

Family saw this restaurant on the Black in the Valley FB page. Came on a Monday during lunch. Corner strip mall with some parking. Restaurant clean inside and out. Just opened 9/25/25. I was greeted with their "special greeting". The owner was friendly and helpful with helping me decide what to order. We shared: "Grandma" (catfish) 3 pieces, fries, coleslaw & 1 slice of white bread and "Li'l Mama" 2 chicken wings, fries, coleslaw, bread and a juice box. You are able select a dipping sauce to go with each order. I selected Chicago. The fish was a tad bit salty. However, the fish was fresh, the the chicken was cooked well and the batter was crunchy and flavorful. Homemade coleslaw was enjoyable (and I'm not a big fan of coleslaw). The sauce has a great flavor. Give this young business a try!

The food at Claudine's for the most part is delicious and most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Second and last is the man in the front who I just learned today was the manager. His tone becomes unpleasant and abrasive anytime you ask a question, he lack accountability for his own mistakes, and he seems more focused and preoccupied on managing the line than anything else. I thought he was hired as the greeter not the manager because I only really see his focus being the line and who can walk from one line to the next.... Unfortunately it is getting to the point where it starts to ruin the experience before I'm even able to get to the register and it's sad to see that there are other reviews that have the same concerns.

I'm a visual person, and I really miss the before times when a unique theme, carried out with great detail, was something many dining establishments strived to provide. I have so many fond memories of walking into a place dripping with eye catching decor. There used to be so many of them that carried out a theme with an attention to detail akin to how Disneyland delivers successful concepts. While Claudine's vibe is not quite a high elevation of theme, it does provide vibrant visuals. The main interior wall is packed with great artwork suggesting a comfy farm-to-table experience. The counter where you order also showcased beautiful and unique baked goods to tempt you with those sweet treats. If you haven't been, you can expect that there might be a line. When we got there the line was tiny. We barely had time to start looking at the menu before it was our turn to step up and order. My companions on a Sunday morning were Dear Hubby and Sweet Granddaughter. Mind you, this isn't cheap food / fast food. It's elevated fast casual dining. We ordered / paid at the counter, collected a number, then seated ourselves. One little critique there - they have two cash registers, but despite a growing line, they only had one open. Also, it is pretty loud inside, so it can be hard for guests and staff to hear each other during the ordering process. It was a glorious day; not too hot. It was perfect to sit outside on their covered patio, overlooking the shared landscaping between Claudine and Islands. It took a little while for our freshly prepared order to arrive, but not overly so. SG ordered her standard of chicken nuggets and fries, only they offer potato wedges and high quality chicken breast pieces. The breading was tasty, and the larger than bite-sized chunks of chicken were perfectly prepared. The quantity provided for a "kids meal" offered so much food that more than half went home for a second serving later in the day. SG also enjoyed the red velvet frosted donut she ordered. DH dove into a very plump breakfast burrito, stuffed with all manner of good savory breakfast fillings. I thoroughly enjoyed trying their "Baby Dutch mini pancakes". They were served three ways - with real maple syrup (what a difference "real" makes), with strawberries and whipped cream, and the best surprise - with lemon cream sauce and blueberries. So amazing! I also tried the S'mores dessert, and was compelled to share with SG, who just "had" to try it, too. Very delicious. The only thing that to me was overpriced was the side of bacon - 4 pieces for $7.95. Mind you, this is nitrate-free, and it was very tasty. Little add ons did drive up the total bill. The quality is really good, and no one left the least bit hungry. We will definitely be checking them out again. Definitely a gem of an indy restaurant.
