I love Happy Ice since I discovered them about 5 years ago at a Vegan Festival. Then I stopped by their Melrose location. I had my company cater them. But I didn't know about the Northridge location and I had to stop by once I saw it. I ordered something completely different, it was the Pineapple Upside Cake and it was sooooo good and refreshing. The citrus was perfect and not over the top. They will allow you to sample.. There's plenty of seats to choose from and in a plaza so ample parking. It was clean and vibrant. The associate was super kind and patience.
So so so good! I was very excited to go here since I've never had italian ice before, and needless to say it exceeded expectations! Bingsu/Korean shaved ice is a regular fave of mine but they tend to be very dairy-based and it can be difficult to find a place w/ something similar in texture and that has dairy-free options. And this place has just that. This is the perfect spot for those looking for more fruit-centric refreshing flavors or even the sweet pastry-inspired dessert selections! A small portion of water ice is approximately 3-4 sizable scoops! And a small portion of the gelati (water ice + soft serve) specialty is approximately the size of a McDonald's parfait. My partner got the summertime (strawberry, cherry, watermelon(?) flavor and I got the peach cobbler inspired cup with gelati. I was hoping they'd have the apple pie one but it wasn't listed on the menu when we were there. Regardless, still a very tasty and amazing treat to cool down with! Service was helpful and you're welcome to try samples of anything. Was very shocked to see that employees manually swirl/mix flavors while scooping rather than have tub with pre-swirled flavors. I'm sure that takes some skill! Ambiance is very fun with lively and colorful decor. The music on the speakers can be pretty loud esp the further back into the store you're sitting at. 5000000% would go here again, would love to try the other flavors and maybe have a bigger portion when I have more stomach room bc it was that good I almost wish we had dinner elsewhere right after instead or before LOL!
This was my first time trying Happy Ice, and I genuinely couldn't decide between one of their classic flavors or one of the Joylati specials. I ended up ordering the Banana Pudding in a small. I was expecting more of the signature Happy Ice, but the dessert was mostly custard. There was custard on both the bottom and top with a relatively small scoop of banana Happy Ice in the middle. Because of that, the banana flavor ended up getting a bit lost and wasn't nearly as prominent as I had hoped. That said, whenever I was able to get a bite of just the banana Happy Ice, I enjoyed it much more. It was refreshing and made me wish there had been more of it. Next time, I'd probably skip the specialty option and order one of the plain Happy Ice flavors instead. Overall, it's still a solid dessert spot in the area, and I'd definitely come back to try one of their classic flavors. If you're deciding between a specialty creation and the original Happy Ice, I'd probably recommend sticking with the classic.
We love happy ice! It's become a tradition to visit the first day of summer vacay. They have banana pudding and strawberry shortcake now, too. I tried the banana pudding and I'm going to have to come back for more soon because it was delicious! Service was great, lots of customers came in as soon as they opened. The ambiance is nice, there is plenty of indoor seating available if you want to enjoy your ice cream there.
Parking lot is large , but some spots are 15 mins. And it's a busy area. I got the summertime . Watermelon , mango and strawberry. Very tasty. But it's not shaved ice, which I love. (I could tell from the sample I like it but wouldn't love it. )Could see would be more appealing when it's very hot. Large is big enough to share.
Came here with my sister and my friend to check this place out and we were not disappointed. Everything was so good! I ordered the caramel apple cheesecake joylati and the ice cream was very rich in flavor. Also tried the banana pudding joylati and that was also so delicious. Easy to find parking and there was indoor seating. It was very clean inside and the workers were also very friendly and very helpful in answering our questions since it was our first time here. Will definitely be back again!
My family is from Philly and this reminds we of water ice but in Cali. Every scoop jam packed with flavors, it doesn't turn into slush but stays the perfect consistency and it's the most refreshing snack you could have. We came and it was packed out the door, with only the owner and one other staff member running the show and they didn't disappoint, these two ran this place and the crowd better than most restaurants I've been to with triple the staff. The music in the background creates nice vibes for when you dine in. This spot is a must have no matter where you are in SoCal, you need to make the trip at least once. *not sure of the two flavors (Banana pudding and Peach Cobbler) are permanently on the menu.

Omg I didn't know this place had made its way to the valley! Let's start out by saying it's the best Italian Ice anywhere !!! I happened to pass by the shopping center on my way home and when I saw the signage marquee I was beyond excited. I made a u-turn, parked and went into the store as fast as I could! I've frequently visit the location on Melrose and have use this vendor for catering in the past. But now it's close to home. I walked in and my smile was a huge as could be. The decor and colors were amazing. The artwork eye catching and the seating was cute I ordered the largest size of the rainbow flavors. Delicious. Creamy and mouth watering. You just try this place!
So so yummy! Water ice and vegan soft serve = fabulous combo. I came in on a Saturday night and although there was a long line it went by very quickly. There's a few tables to sit and enjoy but they were all taken, but it's a cute date spot. I got the strawberry shortcake joylati with nondairy soft serve, and the rainbow water ice (combo of all flavors). I enjoyed that it wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and the flavors stand out. The strawberry shortcake was my favorite, it had a great combination of textures between the soft serve, water ice, strawberries, and crumb. Definitely a repeat!
Was able to finally try HAPPY ICE! I heard about a black owned dessert shop as they were vendors for a grad school event and was happy to find they have a storefront. When I entered I was greeted by staff and informed of the process and the flavors. I purchased the summertime specialty which had strawberry watermelon and mango. It was delicious and refreshing. The storefront was fairly sized with plenty of seating and parking. I'll definitely return to another happy ice location closer to home.
HAPPY ICE in Northridge?!?! Don't mind if I do! This location is close to CSUN in a large shopping center frequented by Matadors. Large free parking lot that doesn't seem to run out of space. There was a short line to order. Our giant party was easily accommodated by the the super friendly, supper HAPPY staff. Flavors were good. Ice has great texture. Trusted the server and she gave us an awesome choice. Also, she mad it really pretty!
The cutest happy place! Came with the kiddos for an after school treat! Such a happy vibe and wicked happy I've! My son had his joylatti way and it was adorable! Color changing spoons! They have vegan options and I just loved the ambiance here! Kids cups are packed so well variety of things to choose from! Downside? Just the crazy parking from the busy plaza but worth the wait!
Came to Happy Ice after lunch because my son has NOT stopped talking about this place And I totally get it now! He got mango + blue raspberry, and I went with watermelon + blue raspberry because apparently we both have a serious love for anything blue raspberry. They were so sweet and offered us samples, so of course we happily tried the mango and blue raspberry before deciding. I even added ice cream because... why not? I love that they have monthly specials too, so there's always something new to try. The whole place has such a fun, colorful, happy vibe. And now that my brother has moved to the area, I already know we'll be back often! Always love discovering and supporting locally owned, minority-owned businesses. read more
The Place- Clean The Service- Friendly Tried the Biggie size which is their largest. One really hungry person could eat it or two kind of hungry people could share. Has the Summer Time which was good but I did wish it was a little more tart. That may have been my fault and next time I will try some other flavors to get that punch I am looking for. Parking- Shares a fairly large parking lot with many other businesses. I did not have trouble finding parking but I could see that it would not always be that easy. read more

Came here for the third time & was a bit disappointed. It looked like the ice cream machine may have been out because the team members were scooping what looked/tasted like regular vanilla bean ice cream out of a tub. It ended up tasting okay but I wish the employees would have mentioned something when I ordered, considering the vanilla soft serve is one of the main reasons we come here. I've been wanting to try Happy Ice for a while now and I'm so glad there's a location near me now. It's located in a bit of a busy parking lot with lots of other food spots. Very family friendly ambiance. Great service, we got a quick run down of the flavors and I tried the rainbow rocket. Super yummy and good for a hot day. I love how it's non dairy and water based! It is a little pricey, a small was about $6. I'm definitely gonna bring my nephews here to try it out. read more

I've been seeing the Peach Cobbler Joylati all over Instagram and knew I had to come back and try it before it's off the menu. Oh my gosh it was the best dessert I've ever had! My friends and I went to go get some Happy Ice after our dinner. It's a yummy sweet treat that packs a ton of flavor! You can choose between the gelati (vanilla only, from the machine) or the water ice (hand-scooped, and can be any mix of flavors of your choosing or the ones on the menu). You can also do both with the gelati on top! Toppings you can include for free is condensed milk, white chocolate, crushed oreos, and sprinkles. The water ice was smooth textured and perfect for a hot day. You can also get free samples to try out a flavor! The lady was super friendly and nice! Price wise, the small is $6 but I didn't finish it and had lids for to-go. Meanwhile some people don't mind grabbing the pint size (bigger than large) to have more for future also! My mix of flavors was yummy and went for what I was going for! (Sour apple, blue raspberry, pineapple, mango). PS Bathroom has a code but make sure you knock first because there's no lock if someone is inside! read more

This place hits every time ! So refreshing, cold, and delicious. I always go for the classic All Star which is basically a rocket pop flavor. It's crazy how fast they move to create your ice cream everyone is always friendly and welcoming. Wish they had later hours especially during the summer so me and my boyfriend are always rushing to get here before they close lol if you want something different besides ice cream or gelato try this! read more

Happy Ice is a must-visit! They have many flavor options and combinations that there truly is something for everyone. The staff was welcoming and took the time to explain the menu since it was our first visit. You can even combine their Happy Ice flavors with soft-serve ice cream! My dad ordered the dairy soft-serve (they also offer oat milk) on a waffle cone and it was really good! I couldn't make up my mind, so I went with the All Star a popular combination of Cherry, Blueberry, and Lemonade. Everything we tried was delicious and we will definitely be back! read more

I have known about happy ice for a while but never knew they cater! They give a huge chests that stays cool for 5-8 hours. You can get up to 4 flavors and they have signature ones to choose from. You can't go wrong with any flavor really. I'm so happy they brought this to the valley because they were far from me in LA for the longest. The staff was so nice and helpful. They helped me to my car as well. The parking however is very tight where they are located so be careful with backing out. It was also super busy on a Saturday. I plan to go back and enjoy in the store. Thanks happy ice! read more

I went in with a crazyyyyyy long line and noticed they only had two people working. Yet, despite the busyness and madness of only having 2 people to handle all that business they had such warm customer service and upbeat spirits. The service at Happy Ice is always great. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and consistently goes above and beyond to create a memorable experience. The vibe is always fun with the loud music. In honor of Black History Month, we had to try the banana pudding ice, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. You could immediately tell it was made with real ingredients. Seeing the fresh bananas when walking in set the tone, and you could taste that authenticity in every bite. The flavor was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced--not overly sweet, but full of real banana flavor. What made the visit even more special was the experience they created for my son. I asked if they could make something in Spider-Man colors, and they happily put it together for him. Seeing his excitement when they handed it to him made the moment unforgettable. It showed how much they care about their customers and the experience they create. read more

Loved!! My sister and I needed a pick-me-up and this was perfect! True happiness in a cup! Well , to start Kelsey was absolutely brilliant! She is the most friendliest person to talk to and has outstanding customer service! My grandpa and I's first time here at Happy Ice and it was such a great first impression. We will be definitely coming back again. This place has been on my list when they were only on wheels. I also forget to grab some on my way out from downtown Disney. You can imagine my joy when I found out they opened a location here in the valley. The place is spacious, clean and has plenty of seating. I had a warm welcome upon entering and was immediately helped by Liz, who informed me about all of their flavors/options. Think of this place as a Rita's (IYKYK). Liz offered all of the possible samples and even suggested the perfect gelati combination. I couldn't recommend this place enough and thank Liz for providing such great customer service and making our first visit great. Definitely coming back here..all the time ;P read more

I'm soooooo glad that we have a HAPPY ICE in the valley I was in the area today having lunch and decided that this was gonna be my sweet stop I've been to the Melrose location several times but this spot has more room and more PARKING. Service was excellent and cheerful as always I was greeted with a smile as soon as I got in. If you ever need a pick me up....visit Happy Ice. Your mood will instantly change for the better. The atmosphere or ambiance is very umm...HAPPY Today I chose my own 3 flavors....yummm. read more

I enjoyed this place! Happy Ice is like having a melted-down popsicle with a large variety of flavor options to mix and match! You also add ice cream. It's a sweet lover's dream. The price is affordable, and the portion size is generous--a small size was substantial enough for me, while the larger portion was big enough to share. The staff was knowledgeable and welcoming. The location is small but cozy! I highly recommend it if you love ice cream and popsicles. I got myself and my two children each a cup around $20 plus tax! :) read more
My friend has been to their other location and told me about this new one when they were still "coming soon"! Haven't gotten the chance to try it till today. Parking lot is a bit busy and almost always full here but if you don't mind walking, the parking towards the Reseda end of the lot is almost always vacant. My bf and I shared a Regular: Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, Lemonade topped with Vanilla Sweet Cream. I love how they scoop all the flavors together to make it look all multicolor and cool! The flavors worked perfectly together and I highly recommend the vanilla sweet cream topping. Didn't catch the worker's name but he made sure to have that "happy" tone in his voice and greeted every single customer who walked in. Plenty of seating and even have the option of high top seating (bar stools). Absolutely delicious Italian ice and love that it has its own home here since it's a rare find amongst all the froyo and ice cream spots around. I'm aware of this company because I sell batteries to production in hollywood.@Lemeir Mitchell was on the show Black Ink Compton and I was introduced to he's Business from The show. I came across the truck one day driving around Los Angeles pulled over got a icy. Took a picture of my icy in front of the truck and was featured on Yelp Happy Ice page. I stand behind this company so much with their product. We don't have ice in Cali, he brings the back east missing component here. I'm so excited that he has a valley location in northridge. Whether you see the truck or go to the standing store in Northridge you will not regret your decision. He's branching out with a lot of new flavors like banana pudding. peach cobbler & He also has Dole whip. On his Tic Tac he shows you he makes everything fresh daily. Nothing like variety. I was looking for a new dessert place and ended up finding my favorite one - Happy Ice is SO good. We got the seasonal peach flavor with non-dairy soft serve which actually had chunks of the skin in it, so you know it's actually real. It was a great treat without being overly sweet and was very refreshing. I'll definitely be back! read more

We went for an evening sweet treat. I got the Summer Time Gelati-- the flavors are Sweet Watermelon, Strawberry, and Mango Tango. The cream and ice together are a cool twist, but the flavor profile doesn't quite hit where it would make me crave this often. I probably wouldn't get this weekly for a sweet treat but would recommend Happy Ice for friends who are looking for something different. Think summer festival energy in a cup: colorful and unique. The staff was very friendly and wasn't busy around 7pm. It might not be my forever favorite, but it is a good pick-me-up on a hot day. read more

I saw on TikTok that they were doing banana pudding flavor for black history month and had to come try it before they stopped it, and OMG Im so glad I did! It wasn't too sweet, and the banana flavor was so yummy! I hope they keep this flavor! The service was great too! We will be back! read more
Finally got to try this with our kids. We all loved it. I like this kind of dessert because I am bot into sweets. Its refreshing for me, my kids loved the falvors too and you could also add vanilla ice cream if you want...the service was incredible, I assume their college kods and they are so nice and helpful.
