Ordered via UberEats. The food packaging was good. I ordered Halo-halo, Ube tart, and Chocolate milkshake. They were a tad sweet for me.
I love coming here, their jasmine calamansi is amazing and always gives me energy for my day. They are always so kind to me and go above and beyond in their food service. I will be coming back here for the rest of my life I fear
*My overall impression is somewhat biased since I really enjoy ube, and outside of that preference I would consider this a fairly average café experience.* Parking: Cafe 86 is in a plaza surrounded by other small businesses and restaurants. It's off Reseda and its parking lot is usually a hot spot among people. There is a good amount of parking but depending on the time, it fills up quickly and can feel tight trying to maneuver your way through and find a spot. Ambiance: Cafe 86 is a, they specialize in coffee and matcha and truly have an expansive menu featuring lots of delicious ube variations. There is a good amount of seating in the cafe, from normal tables to a couch to lounge on. The interior of the cafe is lined with brick and the warm lighting casts a soft cozy feeling. There is ample space to sit and enjoy your drink. I'd even say it's a good spot to study as it is spacious and does not get too loud. Drinks/food: We've tried the Iced Ube Matcha latte, Iced sea salt latte, Iced Ube Latte, as well as the Ube truffles. I love the ube flavor and it pairs perfectly with their matcha. They don't use the highest quality matcha but the ube flavor carries and still provides a nice tasty drink. The iced coffee was good, a little too sweet and kind of just an average latte, nothing to write home about. The ube truffles are something sweet that hit the spot if you have that sweet ube craving. They are soft and chewy and just the perfect bite. I am definitely biased in general because I really like ube so if you aren't the biggest fan you may not like it Overall this place does make their drinks on the sweeter side so going half sweet is smart if you don't want a blast of sugar. Service: Everyone thus far has been extremely friendly and welcoming! Overall: Cafe 86 is a solid spot if you are in the mood and have a craving for sweet, ube forward drinks and sweets. The menu is fun and unique, especially for anyone who enjoys ube flavors. The cafe itself offers a comfortable, inviting space that works well for hanging out or getting some work done. While the drinks can run on the sweeter side and some of the drinks are just average, the overall experience is still enjoyable. The friendly service and relaxed atmosphere is a calm choice for a new casual cafe stop, particularly if you are there for their ube specialties.

After dinner at Manila Sunset, we had to stop by Cafe 86 for Filipino desserts with our guests. We ordered the Upside Down Halo-Halo, Mais Con Yelo, and Ube Truffles, and they definitely hit the spot. I've been to Cafe 86 a few times now, and it never disappoints! I'd like to give a special mention to the Upside Down Halo-Halo, which is loaded with toppings. Just a heads-up though: it's very sweet, so keep that in mind if you're watching your sugar intake. The ambience was really nice too. I loved the artwork on the walls as it added a lot of character to the place. The only downside is the price as it was a bit on the expensive side at around $60 for five people.
First time here and loved the vibe. Not much to look at from the strip mall door but they did a good job of making it comfortable inside, with a few games and soft cushy chairs. The menu was full of all kinds of goodies. I got the matcha Ube latte and it was the perfect blend of sweetness and matcha. Highly recommended if in the area. Staff was very friendly as well.
Huge selection of treats and drinks! Their ube cakes are fantastic (especially the cream cheese frosting). I love the texture of the ube truffles, but could do without the coating. Their Thai Tea Monster is also great. It's not too sweet and the Oreo crumble is a delicious touch. The employees inside are so sweet and helpful. They have an immense amount of patience with my indecisive personality. Parking here can be tough. The lot is big, but there are many other businesses competing.
Who wants UBE?! Get your ube fix here. This place has it all. Ube cheesecake. Ube shakes. Ube ice cream. Ube tres leches (which I have yet to try). They ran out by the time I got there. They even have ube bread pudding! Had the Monster shake, bread pudding, and cheesecake. All of which were just fantastic and OH! How could I forget? The ube pop tart! Flaky, lightly sweetened with that ube drizzle on top. It's the perfect little treat with a cup of coffee, hot or iced. One note on ordering the bread pudding. It comes with the option of the ice cream on the side or on top, warmed or not but it won't let you select more than one option on the kiosk. So if you are taking it to go, just let them know to have the ice cream on the side. I recommend indulging sooner, warm that puppy up and of course, a la mode. A clean, cute little cafe that is worth bringing your laptop or book over to, enjoying a treat and vibing out. 10/10, would recommend.
The drinks were rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced--sweet without being overwhelming. The ube flavors really shine, especially paired with the smooth texture of the drinks and desserts. Everything tasted indulgent but still well-crafted. The dessert was just as good--soft, flavorful, and topped with the perfect crunch for contrast. You can tell Cafe 86 knows exactly what they're doing when it comes to ube. It's a great late-night dessert spot with a relaxed vibe and consistently solid quality. If you're an ube fan (or trying it for the first time), Cafe 86 is a must.
Yummy yummy yummy! If you're as big of a fan of ube as I am, you'll love Cafe 86! The Ube Tres Leches is an ube sponge that is soaked in coconut, evaporated and condensed ube milk and topped with whipped ube halaya and a crunchy layer of cashew meringue. It is nicely dense and tasty with excellent ube flavor balanced by the sweet Tres Leches and nutty cashew . For some reason mine didn't have the coconut flakes, but it's just so good. A real treat to have. The Ube Ice cream is very straightforward and expectedly delicious. It is something that you can easily pair with any of their pastry choices, and I'll be sure to explore more of their menu. Ambience wise, it is a cute little cozy space, and feels especially warm and inviting during the rainy day.

Delicious summer treats--enjoyed their unique style of traditional halo-halo with ube ice cream, leche flan, etc. and refreshing hibiscus drink. Excellent, friendly service from Ino, Bri, and the whole team (they truly deserve a raise!). Great spot to study work with power outlets to charge phone, tables, chairs, and clean environment, with chillaxing music vibe. Unfortunately, the bathroom was out of order, but Ino kindly recommended a nearby alternative (Ubatuba). Thank you so much, God bless!
Came here on a recommendation from a friend. On this day, it was pretty empty; except for a few students on their laptops. The vibe was calm. Good music. There is a martial arts studio next door and class was in session. You can totally hear them. Oddly enough it didn't bother me . I ordered a Halo Halo. It was delicious. I really enjoyed the flan on top the most. But overall I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely order that again. But I am curious about some of the pastries and some of the other drinks. Can't wait to bring my daughter

Such a good underrated spot for some drinks with their filipino-themed flavors and some teas!!! My friends and I decided to come here because of a really good deal and we were all saying that we should come here more often because of how good the drinks were. You can either order with the staff or order through the kiosk on the right side. You have an option to type on the text box if you need to change the milk to oat milk, for example. I always ask for just in case they do have oat milk so if you have any special requests, depending on how busy it is, might be better to talk to someone to order!!! The Tiger Tea was really delicious and was a good amount of sweet. The Mermaid drink was a fav from my group. I really liked the Milo and the Ube Milk teas. They were pretty quick with the orders so it's not too crowded inside of people waiting. It's very cozy inside and there's warm lighting and some books too for people to read. With today's heat wave in the SFV, it felt like the perfect excuse to finally try the halo-halo from this Filipino bakery/café that's been sitting on my "Want to Go" list for a while. One thing to note: they open late--12:30 PM. Parking was easy, and there's a decent amount of seating inside. I happened to be the first customer of the day. Don't expect the warm, smiley Filipino hospitality right away--just head straight to the counter and place your order on the iPad. As for the halo-halo, it's definitely not your traditional version. It wasn't bad by any means, but it's quite different from the halo-halo I grew up with and the ones I enjoy whenever I visit Manila. If you're looking for a modern take on the classic dessert, you may appreciate it more than I did. Prices are pretty standard for Los Angeles, and they accept Apple Pay, which is always a plus. read more

First time visit to this local spot. Stopped in after dinner with friends. Nice atmosphere, warm wood interior. Low lighting and plenty of tables and chairs for customers. Some couches as well. Filipino baked goods offerings are mostly Ube flavored. Extensive drink menu with Filipino flavor profiles as well. Limited baked goods at this time of night. I purchased the ube truffle and it was delicious. I always like to try Chai from different cafes I visit. Their Chai latte was smooth, earthy, not sweet. I enjoyed it. Perfect place to meet a friend during the day or after dinner for a drink and chat. I would have liked more options for drink sizes. All iced drinks were regular size. Hot beverages were like medium and small drinks only. They have a Cafe 86 rewards program you can easily enroll with your phone number. After having lunch at Hanoo Kalbi, my parents, my parents friends and I had to pass by cafe 86 for filipino dessert and drinks, the halo-halo and the dessert were delicious and sweet. The service was amazing and friendly staff with a smile, the ambiance was great and cute cozy space to relax. I love to read a books while I'm having fun with reading it!! We enjoyed it and we will come back next time!!! read more

Was in the area and stopped by to use the restroom and grab a milk tea for the road. I decided to get the upside down halo halo instead because it's their most popular item. Super unique ube slush and vanilla ice cream on top with cereal and jelly and boba! Very interesting dessert! Fast service and great ambiance to hang out. read more

I love this Cafe! Great for dates, studying, and grabbing pastries to go. I love the Ube Monster here and the upside down Halo Halo. The products are on the pricier side but in my opinion are worth it. Portions are good and I love the authentic Filipino pastries this cafe brings. Workers are kind and efficient. Highly recommend checking this place out. read more
Went here 2 weeks ago to buy halo-halo and ube flan. It's a small place with a few tables and chairs. Most of the customers that were there seemed to just chill and have drinks. There's free WiFi I guess - since I was there already I ordered grilled cheese and pastrami sandwiches. I highly recommend the halo halo and ube flan. The ube flan was really just a moist ube muffin/cupcake that's topped with a slice of flan. It's a bit pricey for 1 piece - I bought 5 pcs for the whole fam. It's really filling. I wouldn't recommend ordering the grilled cheese (too bland) or the pastrami (mustard was overpowering) - better off getting that from a deli but it wasn't bad if you're in a bind and want to have something solid with your drinks. read more

There's a computer stand where you can do your own orders and two guys behind the counter get your orders together for you. They're pretty quick! Great drink menu selection, but more on the pricey side| Has a parking lot. The upside down Halo Halo is now $8.50 !! Expensive but a good treat/dessert. My all time favorite spot to go to when I'm craving ube. Their Upside Down Halo Halo is the one I always order. They're also known for their flan ube cupcake too which I always get, such a good combo. I also recommend their ube butter bars. Parking wise, this location was pretty packed and I had to do a few circles to find a parking spot. (I usually go to the Artesia location and always able to find parking spot in front by the store). The staff here was friendly and a chill place for you to do your own thing/study/or catch up with friends. read more
I very rarely come here nowadays because of their super late hours. Very odd for a "cafe" to not open till 12:30pm on a daily. It's wild to me that I have to wait to get coffee so late and it honestly didn't bother me so much until today. We were running errands and decided to grab coffee since we had a late start. We weren't done with errands but since this is a bit out of our way, we drove out to it before wrapping it up. I forgot this place doesn't open until 12:30 and we got there shortly after 12. We walked around a bit to kill time since we were already out here and might as well get boba with my coffee, right? So wrong. The worker finally opened the door right at 12:30, we walked in along with some others who were waiting as well. I ordered an iced cookie butter latte with boba and the guy said they didn't have their boba ready yet. I was like ok, I get it, sometimes it's finishing up or needs an extra 15 minutes. Nope! He needed a whole 'nother HOUR. I was beyond in disbelief. I don't know when they come in to prep but boba definitely does not take that long to cook. Also? Opening at 12:30 on a daily and they weren't even READY? That's pretty sad. I ended up getting my cookie butter latte anyway because we already waited forever and made our way out. Even the customer who ordered after me was sad that he couldn't order boba for his child. Very disappointing and didn't think I'd need to lower my rating for this place. 3.5, love that there's a filipino cafe! i did find it a bit pricy though for drinks and bakery/dessert items. the drink was good though - i got ube latte with added espresso. also ordered ube tart, their halo halo pudding (comes with ice cream), ube cheesecake, and ube crinkles. really liked the desserts (50/50 my family didnt like them as much but i thought they were good) the place had a really nice cozy lighting but can be packed depending on time of day. read more
I've never had a halo halo before and wanted to try one so don't really have anything to compare to but the signature halo halo was so good. I love all things ube and the ube ice cream on top hit the spot! I enjoyed the crunch the Frosted Flakes gave this dessert and all the variety of jackfruit, boba and jellies was quite a taste and texture experience. I also took home an ube cheesecake and it was delicious! Service was great, and an overall good value, read more
