Although the restaurant wasn't busy when we came in, my husband and I waited nearly 20 minutes after being seated before anyone acknowledged our table or brought us water. When our waitress finally came over, we ordered both drinks and food at the same time to save time. She couldn't answer basic questions about the menu, and when our drinks arrived 15 minutes later, my husband was served the wrong beer. After that, we waited another 40 minutes with no food and no check-ins, while several tables that arrived after us were served first. We eventually had to ask another worker to find the manager, because our waitress was nowhere to be found and we wanted to leave. About 10 minutes later, the manager brought out our pizza, which was room temperature, and didn't even acknowledge that we'd requested to speak with him until we brought up our concerns. He apologized and comped our meal, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food wasn't worth the wait. The pizza was bland and cold, and the service was some of the slowest and most inattentive we've experienced. We wanted to support a local restaurant, but we will not be coming back to this spot. We popped in on date night after catching a flick at the AMC Porter Ranch 9 and found ourselves walking in and enjoy the beautiful entrance to this pizzeria Italian style ristorante (restaurant or "restaurantria" in Q speak). Greetings came right away from the host. She asked if it was our first time and where we like to dine. The inside was pretty awesome and I think we made eye contact with the manager, or someone with manager energy, very stoic and welcoming at the same time. We found ourselves wanting to dine outdoors as it was a beautiful night. Our table was right along the pathway for the pedestrian and vehicle flow of The Vineyards at Porter Ranch (shopping, entertainment and dining open mall). Great views and very spacious patio with railing and plenty of light. Our server was very attentive. And told us about the specialities and sizes. My boyfriend said we had to try their deep dish Chicago style as it's what they're known for from their early day journey's in Palo Alto to their locations in San Francisco, Hawaii and north Southern California via Porter Ranch, Los Angeles. I was very inclined to agree. My boyfriend isn't vegan, but very vegan friendly and we decided to share a 12' vegan pie. Vegan Deep Dish (or Pan) is a whole wheat flavor trip of extra fresh garlic, spinach, oregano, red onions, daiya cheese, and some of the truly best house/homemade tomato sauce you'll ever have, it would pair excellect with their malbec, zinfandel and/or house red the best though a nice rosé or their sangria make fun awesomeness on the pallet as well (for white wine I'd say go pinot grigio). Loved their vegan friendly menu including pan, neapolitan style pizzas (Spinacini or Classic Veggie). I believe the Mixed Green Salad can be made without parmesan as can their insalata (also hold the focaccia croutons for me). Super accommodating with loads of vegetarian options (most indicated by a v symbol on their menu) and a handful of vegan options I'm grateful for. I know bae would absolutely try their Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicago Ultimate, Special, Salsiccia and numerous others. And a few of these were recommended. Aside from incredible pizza Patxi's has a ton of Starters, Soups & Salads, Sandwiches, Piadinas, Desserts, Beverages including a variety of fountain style, lemonades, juices, ginger beer, still or sparkling water... Even root beer floats, and if they ever add a dairy-free option for that, I'm all in! Incredible daily deals during the week like 20% off Delivery Mondays, 20% off Takeout Tuesdays, $18 Dine In All Day special for Beer Buckets and daily Lunch Combos from 11am to 3pm. The beer selection is solid, but the wine selection is pretty perfect. And if you want to pix it up for the star of the show, pizza, they offer a BYOP options. Leo manages the place. They have the absolutely best Chicago-style deep dish pizzas. I drive 16 miles to pick up pizza from this place. I used to frequent their Palo Alto and Santa Barbara locations earlier, so was familiar with their amazing quality, and was thrilled when they opened up a location not too terribly distant from my home. They have a great, yet casual, vibe in their restaurant. I've dined here a couple of times, and each time the service has been wonderful. Met a friend here for early dinner. Parking was horrible. I circled around for a bit before I found a spot. Once inside we were greeted and seated right away by our server. He was very warm and friendly and explained the menu to us since it was my first time. We ended up getting a chicken pizza, artichoke dip and a Caesar salad. Patxi's definitely had some hits and misses on this holiday weekend, and some of the misses are things that SHOULD HAVE BEEN ironed out in the beginning months of a restaurant opening. The thing is, this restaurant has been open for AT LEAST two years, if not three, so there are NO excuses. First of all, there was only ONE waitress to work an entire restaurant, and that included inside the restaurant AND the patio service. Seriously? There is NO excuse for that. There should have been TWO waitresses for inside and perhaps a third for outside, but that's being generous. Instead, there was one. Secondly, there should be one busboy to handle cleaning the tables of departing customers. Instead, there were ZERO. The one waitress they had was expected to take ALL table orders, keep everyone's glasses filled, bring food, AND clean tables... for the entire place. So instead, plenty of tables remained uncleaned, so when new patrons walked in, there'd be no place to sit. I sure didn't blame HER. It was the owner's fault for not hiring enough help. HOW CHEAP IS THIS OWNER? Oh yeah... the owner was running around, too, half crazed because they were so busy... and UNDERstaffed. Just ridiculous. But here's what REALLY got me. All of the above was just me observing what I saw... and I saw a lot. My husband and I had been sitting there a good 15-20 minutes when 5 friendly moms and their 8 active children walked in for service. The moms were all attentive to their children, keeping them in line, but kids will be kids, and what works best in those situations is to get some distractions going on, which the moms provided... and get them some food. FAST. However, instead of us getting our food first, which we should have because enough time had passed, and because our orders should have gone in early enough because we had already been there awhile, what ended up happening is that our food came out LAST... it came out AFTER the food came out for the 5 moms and their active children. It came out right after another family of 3 who had ordered at the same time as the 5 moms, AND THEN, our food came out... a good 30-40 minutes after we ordered it. And it was lukewarm to cool. Now my husband never cares about that kind of stuff, BUT I DO. At the very least, if you're going to give me my food long after it should have been brought out, at least give it to me piping hot... not cool to lukewarm because it had been sitting out for too long, for G-d knows how long. Don't do THAT to me because that will only anger me. Nothing else bothered me... even understanding why the moms requested that their kids' food come out ASAP. I totally get that... I had kids, too. I have grandchildren now, and I know how this works..... but to the restaurant, don't mess up MY order because someone else tries to get you to move faster. Our order should have come out a lot earlier anyway, perhaps even before they all arrived. Who knows, but they didn't, and I don't know what happened in the kitchen to cause the delays with our food, but what I do know is that I sent my food back. I refused to eat something that should have been given to me HOT. When the waitress tried to explain how a few sprigs of arugula "might've" cooled an entire dish off, I just shook my head back and forth as if to say, "don't go there." She immediately switched gears and asked if I'd like my food heated up, and I told her that would be great ! All of the above are new restaurant kinks, and this isn't a new restaurant. This is a case of a cheap owner who doesn't manage his restaurant too well. And here's the thing... the FOOD WAS REALLY GOOD !! I got a Greek salad that was huge, extremely fresh and tasty. I didn't even have to ask for extra dressing; there was enough on there!! My entree, which was delicious once heated enough, had pizza dough surrounding a mixture of mozzarella cheese, chopped chicken, artichoke dip, and some arugula. It was fabulous. My husband had a meatball sandwich in foccaccia bread, which he loved, along with a Caesar salad that was also very tasty. The only negative on the food was their version of garlic cheese bread. It was pizza dough turned into "knots," and while the texture was wonderful, crunchy on biting into it but soft and pillowy upon further chewing, it just had no appreciable garlic or cheesy aspect to it. There was some parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, but as they baked the knots, the parm cheese got dried out, nothing gooey or traditionally "cheesy" about it, and again, no garlicky aspect whatsoever. I would easily return to this place again. The garlic bread is a miss, but everything else was really good. They just need to work on how to run a restaurant, but the food is worth coming back for more, to be sure. read more

The 2 hostess seemed overwhelmed with all the people that arrived at the same time. Shockingly bad pizza and service for the price My wife and I went to Patxi's in Porter Ranch for dinner and walked out wondering how this meal cost us about $75. It was **disappointing** on almost every level. We ordered a 12" mushroom pizza (around $24), a 14" make-your-own with cheese, garlic, and basil, and a Caesar salad (about $13). The mushroom pizza was extremely greasy, with a heavy, one-note oily flavor that was not enjoyable at all. The make-your-own cheese pizza honestly tasted like a frozen, store-bought pizza - dry, bland, and almost cardboard-like. The garlic was basically nonexistent; maybe one small piece per slice, with no real flavor, as if it were old. The Caesar salad was just as bad. For the price, the portion was tiny and could barely feed a child, and it had almost no dressing or flavor. To make matters worse, the salad was forgotten and then brought out with the pizzas instead of beforehand. Service was also poor. During this very dry meal, our drinks were refilled only once, and we eventually had to go up to the front just to get our check because our server had clearly forgotten about us. Being charged for soda water at the end felt like insult to injury on top of an already expensive, unsatisfying meal. Overall, this was a terrible experience: overpriced, low-quality food, weak flavors, and inattentive service. I wouldn't pay $20 for what we got, let alone what we were actually charged. I have been wanting to check out this place for a while as I heard that their Deep Dish Pizza was very good and is the main attraction. I went last night for dinner for the 1st time and was told that their Deep Dish Pizza machine was broken. The waiter let me know that I could get the Pan Pizza instead and he told me that it was basically the same as the Deep Dish. I tried the Pan Pizza and it was pretty good but was told by other patrons that it is not basically the same as the Deep Dish. What I wanted was a 14"(this is the largest size) Deep Dish Pizza and what I got was a 10"(this was the only size offered) Pan Pizza for $41 out the door after tax and tip. I would think that if your main attraction is down that you should offer your customers something extra to acknowledge that what happened was out of the ordinary, that you value their business and want them to return to try what you are known for another time. read more

Margherita was too salty, and the deep dish was overly undercooked! You could see the raw pizza dough from the bottom of crust up to the thick layered dough crust at end of pizza. Not even close to buttery crust i've been reading. The worst thing about this situation is that the restaurant was really slow that night inside. Then the manager wants to tell me that the dough starts raw then they put sauce on top so it might seem like its not fully cooked smh. Really! Worth a trip to Porter Ranch. From the service, the food, the ambiance, and the price range for the food ALL worth it. When we arrived at the restaurant we were instantly greeted by a wonderful server. I wish I would've asked for her name because she was amazing. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. The day was nice so we opted for outdoor. They have many different options of pizzas, from deep dish, pan pizza and thin NY style pizza. I ordered a spinach deep dish and my husband had my thin NY style pizza, our friend ordered the favorite deep dish. They all looked amazing and let me tell you they were. I have been to this restaurant several times at this location! We love the taste of the pizza- the tomato sauce is really good at Patxi. Unfortunately we have notice that the pizza quality/consistency is not the same every time we visit. It has been awhile, so perhaps what we experience is due to cut back, but looking around the restaurant we noticed other tables' pizza to be different than ours. We noticed that our pizza seemed deflated as a stuff pizza- it almost seemed like a pan pizza- The crust was not high and the fillings lacked volume. This has become one of our go-to spots. The service here has always been great, there is not 1 server we've had that has not been good at taking care of us. We love getting the deep dish, it's saucy and they use good dough. We've had the thin crust before, it's not bad but that's not what you come here for. The cheesecake is also surprisingly good. The outdoor seating is a little more attractive than the interior, and they have heaters! Our server was great and attentive, and even cut the first slice of the deep dish pizzas. We ordered a few appetizers and Italian salad beforehand. Italian salad was excellent packed with load of flavors. Burrata Bruschetta is must have and very unique. Not your traditional bruschetta. Patxi's comes with arugala, roasted tomatoes and whole garlic, topped with burrata and pesto. Flavor profile was amazing and so addictingly good. We came here expecting an authentic Chicago deep dish pizza and had an extremely disappointing pie 1. The pizza was literally served to us cold, sauce was cool to the touch 2. Cheese was not fully melted 3. Dough/Crust was still raw and uncooked 4. Undercarriage was barely browned 4. No crisp whatsoever on this pizza just a chewy undercooked cold mess I noticed I'm not the only reviewer to have this exact complaint. Which means they should warn you ahead of time and recommend asking for it cooked "well done". I really wish I knew this ahead of time, because we were deeply disappointed. read more

I went to Patxi's a couple of days ago with my family. Mario was our Server. We ordered buffalo wings, buffalo Mac N Cheese and Patxi's Meatballs as our appetizers. We ordered a couple of lemonades and a sprite. The wings were cooked really well that we ate them so fast. The Mac N Cheese was amazing! The meatball had such a great flavor. Mario took the time to explain the differences of Deep, Pan and Neapolitan. He also explained the cooking process and why it takes a certain time to be cooked. We appreciate his patience and professionalism since it was our first time at Patxi's. We ordered the Deep 10" 5 meats and a 10" Spicy BBQ Chicken. My sister ordered the Patxi's meatball sandwich. We took Mario's suggestions and order an Italian chopped and two Caesars salads while we were waiting for the pizzas to be made. The Italian salad was really. We got our pizzas and Sandwich shortly after we ate the salads. Mario did a great job taking our empty plates and refilling our drinks without having to ask. The pizzas had so much flavor and my sister loved her sandwich. The pizzas by itself is a lot of food. We ordered a couple of boxes and ordered dessert and ate it so fast. I wish I would've taken pictures of the food but the food must be good if you don't take pictures. It's a decent size restaurant with a patio but everything was clean. Side note: Mario's service made our experience memorable. He was very professional and welcoming. We saw him helping everyone in the restaurant. At one point, he was seating people, taking phone orders, charging to go orders, cleaning tables, helping his coworkers and still smiling. All the staff kept coming to him for everything. I believe he's the manager because everyone was coming to him for every little thing. He also was talking to other tables to see how their experience was going. Mario gave us great recommendations and guided us through the menu. He was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. It's rare to get that type of service anymore. Thank you Mario! I've been putting off trying the place for the longest time! My boyfriend and I pass by it all the time on our way to the AMC. I have a friend from chicago that wouldn't vouch for its authenticity as deep dish pizza so I always just walked past it. Objectively speaking as somebody who's never tried true chicago deep dish pizza, it's delicious food! The crust was nice and crunchy and wasn't mushy at all. The tomato sauce was nice and tomato-ey and the cheese pulls are glorious. I wish the veggies within the slice were more cooked through. The bell peppers were still crunchy and so were the onions. Altogether still delicious! Minestrone was okay, the pasta was undercooked but I just like soup. Service was great, and ambiance is very peaceful. Great for a nice quiet intimate dinner but also probably great for larger parties, lots of seating. read more
