Roomate has picked up some House Roots coffee for me before and I distinctly remember loving the cookie. Went again today on my own and the team there was very very sweet. Love matcha so I got their Ceremonial Latte and it was 10/10. Everything about this place is 10/10. I loved the aesthetic of the shop and it deserves a much larger space. Would recommend any time of day ^_^

The beans are perfectly roasted, and there's a clear attention to technique behind every cup. The menu offers a thoughtful mix of classic favorites alongside a few creative, well-executed specialty drinks. Food options such as burritos and acai is also available. This Chatsworth coffee house could easily be overlooked in the SFV, but it absolutely deserves a spot on your radar. It's the kind of place that quietly delivers excellnce without needing to overstate it. We ordered the lavender latte and it was hands down one of the best I've ever had. The balance was spot on; just the right touch of sweetness, with the lavender delicately infused so it complemented rather than overpowered the espresso and milk. Smooht, aromatic, and incredibly satisfying. Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or looking to enjoy a thoughtfully crafted drink, this spot delivers with consistency and care. A hidden gem worth seeking out again and again.
I've been going to House Roots since they were serving coffee out of the church, and it's been awesome to watch them grow. It has become one of my favorite coffee shops, and I always look forward to the weekends and the random weekdays when my wife and I get to stop by for a drink. Their coffee is consistently great. A few of my drinks are the espresso tonic a perfect drink for those hot San Fernando Valley days, an iced unsweetened oat milk matcha latte, and an iced Americano. But the Choconana Latte is our absolute favorite it's delicious. My wife also appreciates that they're happy to adjust the sweetness of her lattes, which makes every drink just the way she likes it. We can never walk in without checking the pastry case to see what's new. It's become part of the experience, and somehow we always end up leaving with a pastry. And if you ever see the banana pudding in the cold case, don't think twice it's absolutely dangerous in the best way. So good! One thing that really stands out is how efficient the team is. Even when there's a line out the door, the baristas keep things moving without sacrificing quality or friendliness. They work hard, and it really shows. If you visit in the late afternoon or evening, you'll catch my favorite view of the shop. The way the sunlight comes through the windows and casts the window sign onto the wall is a pretty cool sight. It's one of those little details that makes me appreciate this place even more. The Chatsworth location doesn't serve their breakfast burritos, but if you ever find yourself at one of their other locations, do yourself a favor and order the Korean Braised Short Rib Burrito. It's one of the best breakfast burritos we've had. House Roots has become part of our routine, and we're grateful to have such a great local coffee shop in Chatsworth.

Worth the try if you're being spontaneous! Service here is prompt and fast! Workers are willing to entertain your questions as needed. The ambiance of the place is slightly small. During busy days. It's almost impossible to get a seat, place feels more of a to-go kind of coffee shop, so pick your days accordingly if you're planning to study or hangout out with people. Overall, it's one of my go-to coffee shop in the area :)
Discovered two new favorites! Seasonal- Chestnut Dream : Chestnut infused latte with salted chestnut cold foam, garnished with holiday spice powder Sandwich- TRUFFLE JAMON BEURRE: truffle butter, cornichon, swiss, focaccia I love the salty sweet cold foam on the Chestnut Dream. I'm obsessed. The focaccia is soft and the combination of all ingredients is a win. This was a very tasty sandwich.
This cute little spot is a great quick stop. There's a small parking lot right outside, which makes it super convenient, and the inside has a few seats. I ordered the Choconana Dream and the Matcha Dream. The drinks came out really fast, which I appreciated. The Matcha Dream was smooth and creamy, though the matcha flavor itself was pretty mild. I still enjoyed it, and I'd definitely try their other matcha drinks next time. The Choconana Dream leaned much more toward the chocolate side, with just a very subtle hint of banana. I was hoping for a stronger banana flavor, but overall it was still a good drink. What really stood out was the staff. They were incredibly sweet! Definitely a nice little spot with good drinks and great service. I'd come back to try more from their menu!
Small parking lot but I think there's plenty of parking on the street to the side if you don't mind walking. The lot is really small with only a few spots. I ordered the Matcha Dream. It's a bit... salty. Not sure if I like this one. It's not bad... might grow on you the more you sip... I'll keep it at 4 stars because I had tried another drink before and I think I liked that... I just can't remember what drink it was. Ambiance is chill. Not for big groups. Service was also quick.
House Roots is definitely a staple & favorite in the Valley. Matcha isn't too milky but I loveeee their matcha tonic. It's definitely my go to & if & when I order something different, still really good, but I wish I would've ordered the matcha tonic. We've ordered their lattes, cold brews, & espresso tonic. Whether it's espresso or matcha you're into - their drinks are amazing! You can taste the quality. Their poppy seed lemon cake is a must grab. I only wish there was more seating because it's a place I'd like to hang out at!
My coworker and I passed by on our way to work at 7:15am. I wanted to try their banana coffee drink, they were kind enough to make it half sweet. The bottom part is the coffee and the top is a banana cold foam with cocoa sprinkled on it. It was a subtle banana flavor. I enjoyed it very much. We also tried the turkey sandwich. It was delicious, even for breakfast. We also ate the banana chocolate walnut bread; moist and subtle banana. All in all, good quality and flavor. Will return.
So I wanted to grab a coffee as well as a quick lunch bite for my lady, and found this place on Yelp - happy to have found this gem. It's an ideal Café - nice people ( employees and customers ), a simple menu, a clean look, and good service. We grabbed a hot Salted Butterscotch Oatmilk Latte, an iced Lavender Oatmilk Latte, and a Cortado. All three were fan-flavor-tastic with great aromatics. The sandwich selection was simple but appetizing: Egg Salad, Turkey & Cheese, and Mortadella with Pesto and Mozzarella. The lady at the counter suggested the Turkey, but once my wife saw the Mortadella offering, it was a closed deal. Their sandwiches are made in house, built with good proportions. The proteins in all three were generous while the bread was hearty and fluffy. Just the right amount of sprouted greens, dressing, and cheese for the mortadella. Grabbed an egg sandwich to go. Prices were fair and comparable, quality was high, and the customer service was pleasant and conversational. Coming back here again.
Been wanting to try House Roots Coffee for a while! It's so many coming to the valley and I'm happy today I tried. I did not order food but next time I want to try their turkey sandwich. I got the sweet latte and it was very good!! Not to sweet and it has many levels of sugar how you want Your drink. They also have non-coffee drinks. The service was really good and fast! Very clean inside and modern. Has a few seats to sit down and eat. Parking in lot and convenient!
Super glad to finally check out this spot. I got the EINSPANNER DREAM drink for coffee, which has milk and housemade salted vanilla cold foam!!! You can add an extra pull of a shot for $1.50 more and modify the milk as well for .75 cents, with oat and almond options!!! It's nice and strong coffee, and it gave me the push I needed for the rest of the day. There's an underground parking garage but I'm not sure if you can park there because I was walking in from the area. I like that there's plenty of seats outside too and some seats too inside, although they aren't super comfortable and this spot is more like a quick 30 minute chill spot to hangout at. My friends hyped up the food here, especially the burritos. The KOREAN BRAISED PORK BURRITO was super yummy and delicious. There was braised pork shoulder with garlic, scambled eggs, tater tots, sharp cheddar cheese, chipotle aioli and pickled jalapeños. A pretty filling burrito. i love the simple, yet whimsical, earthy design choices of house roots coffee - upon entering, you feel welcomed and relaxed. there is a wide selection of pastries and sandwiches, as well as quick breakfast options from the fridge section. they also sell coffee beans and merch! i got an einspanner dream (less cream top to reduce sweetness) - i immediately took a sip from the cream, delighted by the generous topping of cocoa powder, and it was indeed dreamy and creamy! the coffee still shone through as strong and smooth, so the drink overall was a 10/10. price ($6.50) is reasonable too as many specialty drinks these days are $7+. friendly staff, bright environment, free parking lot. the space is small, but there are high chairs and a long table that could be good for a brief work session. read more

Always love finding a new coffee spot, and even better when it's closer than expected! Stopped by House Roots Coffee and had a great first experience. I wasn't sure what to get at first, but the staff was super friendly and took the time to ask what I liked before making a few suggestions. I went with their ceremonial matcha latte and it did not disappoint. Smooth, perfectly balanced, and you can really taste the quality. They source their matcha directly from Japan, and honestly, it was on a whole other level compared to most matcha I've tried. They also had a nice selection of baked goods that caught my eye, but I'll save those for my next visit. The space itself is cozy and clean with a few seats if you want to hang out while you wait for your order. Service was quick, and the vibe is very welcoming. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu! read more
House Roots is the best locally owned coffee shop in Valley. You have three to choose from in the North Valley and I've been to all of them. The quality of their coffee is fit for coffee nerds -- you don't need to add cream or sugar to enjoy it. I know good coffee. Trust. read more
i took my cousins here before our disneyland trip and it got me through the day! ive been on such a coffee kick recently and had this on my list to try! the shop is super cute, friendly service, and the drinks were amazing! i forgot the name of the drink i got but i was like a chocolate banana mocha or something along those lines. we even tried a couple of the sandwiches and they were really good. i definitely will be returning and lwould love to try some other drinks! read more

So glad I made a pit stop here! Was craving a matcha tea so I picked one up with a blueberry bran muffin. The cashier had such a positive vibe during the interaction I couldn't help but leave with a smile! The matcha was solid, smooth, no bitterness, and almost a touch of a natural sweetness. Was in the area and needed a quick lunch and always looking to try something new. Located in an outdoor shopping center and parking was easy. Ordered the turkey sandwich; comes with arugula, Dijon mustard, mayo, cheese and turkey. It was really good; I liked the flavor, would order again. Featured this 'out of thin air' focaccia but not sure I noticed any difference. I also ordered the kougin amann which is basically a croissant shaped different and topped with cinnamon sugar. This too was really good, nice crisp and flavor. Topped it all off with a salty butterscotch latte. He said it was their sweetest drink so I asked for it less sweet and it was perfect for me. Small shop with a few seats, great/fast service with simple but effective menu. Would definitely come back. read more
I didn't realize there was a location over here until I passed by it the other day. I decided to come in to try it out, I grabbed an iced chai with almond milk. I like how they add all the cinnamon on top and how it's a lighter chai with a hint of spices. They have a small menu with variety of coffee and teas. They also have pastries and some sandwiches to grab a bite to eat. Inside I wasn't expecting it to be so small, very minimal seating.. no patio seating. This is a more of a grab and go kinda spot. I finally got the chance to stop in and I love it! Cozy place with several seats and an expanded bakery selection ! I was glad to see bread offerings by Out of Thin Air for sale. Their bread is delicious There was a wide variety of parties as well. We chose an orange snail (danish) and a custard danish with earl grey custard and blueberries. Both were delicious and would get them again For drinks we got a latte and a lavender latte and they were both delicious Service was friendly and prompt and there are coffee beans for sale and something new - instant! The instant coffee is delicious and will make a nice addition to our roadtrips because you never know what the coffee situation will be while traveling I've used the self contained coffee pour overs by other companies but that leaves you wish trash to dispose of and you need hotter water . Instant is so much easier and I am happy to report it is delicious and the packaging is cute as heck! I can't wait to go back read more
I have been going to the House Roots in Granada Hills for a few years now but my absolute favorite location has ti be this one in Chatsworth. Always such a great vibe with kind and friendly employees! I have found this location to always make my drink to perfection and I love the variety of food offerings! Good Matcha and friendly barista. What more could a girl ask for, it was my first time going to House Roots, so I took the cashiers recommendation for the Matcha and it turned out so yummy. Not only that, the barista was so sweet and friendly. I could've stayed there for an extra 10 minutes just talking to them. 10/10 would recommend. read more
Such a cute spot! Was visiting family in the area, saw this spot on Yelp and decided to try it out. The interior is clean but warm, and I love their display of pastries as well as their refrigerated section with other types of grab & go foods (sandos, etc). Everyone at the counter was welcoming, which really added to the homey vibe of the cafe. I ordered one of their seasonal drinks: the Chestnut Dream. I'm personally a sweet coffee kind of gal and this was up my alley! My husband ordered the Peppermint Mocha and an Almond Yuzu Croissant. The mocha wasn't my favorite but the croissant was pretty good. Overall a solid place for coffee and pastries if you're in the area! read more
So excited that House Roots opened a location closer to home and expanded their menu to include more pastries and sandwiches! I'm picky about scones and theirs are one of the best I've had. Soft and tender crumb inside with a crisp exterior. So far the only sweet option I've seen is blueberry but I'm hoping they will expand to other flavors like apricot/peach or strawberry. I did also recently try the bacon cheddar chive scone and wasn't as much of a fan so I think I'll stick to the sweet options. Sandwiches are also good although prices are on the high side. Drinks are also decent (I do like their iced sweet latte) but I think their pastries really shine. read more

Love the vibes. Delicious sandwiches made in house, available in the case. I think this is Asian owned which is why I wanted to come and support. It's also just hip and design forward. The drinks are also unique- got an apple chai-der today which was very fall. Seating is limited to a small corner bench and bar. Nice modern wood decor. Popular on a Sunday. Easy parking. My bf and I have been going to their original location in Granada Hills for years now! We don't go as often as we'd like since parking is insanely small and always packed. Sometimes we park at the Taco Bell across the street and walk lol. We decided to drop by for the first time at this new location since it's now on our daily route. They're always super busy when we drop by which means it has to be good, right? Exactly! The staff are super sweet and good multi taskers. They chat with you while they make your drink and prep your food while taking payment. Their iced sweet latte is my go to but I definitely want to try their matcha and other items next time!! We always have to pick up a few salted chocolate chip cookies because they make them fresh and they got the thick salt flakes which makes it even better! Great vibes at this new location and love that it's in a much bigger parking lot amongst other shops. Looking forward to visiting more often and trying out their food! IG: @ammysalamii read more

House Roots never disappoints !! I've been to their other location & was thrilled to discover the new spot ( or at least new to me lol) on Devonshire. The service is absolutely amazing, everyone is so friendly , helpful and knowledgeable about their coffee. They are willing to talk to you about what they serve. I got my go to americano which was absolutely delish, got a bag of whole beans that I went through way too fast. The actual store/shop is very cozy and they have a display of baked goods and other packaged drinks. I also got some cool looking bread which I don't remember the name (didn't last long enough for a photo op) so definitely check out their bread/ baked goods as well . Definitely recommend this spot read more

First time being here. Coffee was delicious. I tried their seasonal nutcracker latte and their sweet latte. The sweet latte was the right amount of sweetness (agave was used). The girls taking the orders were so kind and helpful. read more
