Loaded Papa

Tried the loaded potato and wow--it's enormous! Definitely a plate you can share (or take home leftovers). Everything was super fresh and flavorful, from the toppings to the meats. You can tell they don't skimp on ingredients, and it's packed with flavor in every bite. The staff was really friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. If you're craving something hearty and delicious, this spot hits the mark. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

I finally tried these tacos at the WhatsUp SCV food truck event in Santa Clarita. The tacos looked delicious so I got 8 The pastor was delicious, one of the best pastor tacos I've ever had. The chicken was also very tasty with a bit of charring on the meat, which I liked. The asada was good, not great and was a bit salty. My favorite part of the taco was the tortillas (hecho de mano), they were thin but still has great flavor. The guacamole was also delicious and perfect consistency. I'm glad I finally got to try!

This has to be one of the best taco spots in LA! The staff is super friendly, making fresh tortillas and cooking everything to perfection. The al pastor is definitely a must-try (15/10 for sure) and also the asada is a 12/10 - so good! I also got the Pineapple Agua Fresca, it was perfect, not too sweet and really refreshing. The service is great, and the food is straight-up amazing! If you're looking for a late night snack this is the place to go.

Having an Angel's in Chatsworth is great... Not too far a drive from Northridge mall or CSUN. We went one late Thursday night and the line was short as they were within an hour of closing up for the night. We got asada tacos ($2.50), al pastor tacos ($2.50), asada queso tacos ($3.50), asada burritos ($10), asada vampiros ($4.50) and al pastor loaded potato ($15). They were are really good and everyone was satisfied. The al pastor was full of flavor and a perfect bite with that pineapple. The asada was tasty in the burrito. You can never go wrong with that. Service was quick, friendly and we will for sure come back again when in the area. Love their salsas (green for me), the red is for those that can handle waay more than I can. Ha! I also like how they have agua frescas too. Pineapple for me, horchata for my cousins. The loaded potato is insanely huge and packed with so much food. Located just outside the parking lot where Vons & Wells Fargo are at the intersection of Mason & Devonshire. There are a couple of tables if you want to eat there which we did. Or most people post up by their cars just beyond the property wall of the parking lot. The time we went, they were posted up at the Devonshire side of that intersection. I'm gonna guess they always are.

Smashed up from the aluminum foil but still good!

One of the Angels Tacos location without a crazy line! Been here a couple times now and there has never been a long line. Safe to say this location serves what know and love about Angels and if this is your first time, Bomb Tacos, quesadillas, queso tacos, mulitas, burritos, vampiros, etc. DO ORDER THE AL PASTOR! The best. The habanero sauce is good and spicy. Plus the tortillas are homemade! Angels is consistent no matter which location you go to. ENJOY!

They changed locations around the corner. They used to be off of Mason, in front of Rite Aid. Now they moved around the corner on Devonshire, in front of Vons. Same people, same great food, but different spot. This is my go-to spot for Mexican street tacos. Till this day, I still haven't been disappointed. I'm picky when it comes to eating real street tacos. Not all are the same even though they look the same. I must say though, they do have some really spicy sauces. Zelle is accepted, but cash is best. Overall, it's a must try. Quesadillas handmade corn tortillas, burritos, and my favorite - Tacos with cilantro, raw onions, avocado sauce, salsa, and grilled onions.

Fresh made tortillas with packed filled meat that is very flavorful! Would definitely come back for these tacos! Cash, Zelle or Venmo only!!

I was excited to try these Tacos and they were good just not amazing! I tried the Taco stand on Balboa & San Fernando Mission and I think that spot is a little better! Service could've been better. Tacos are tacos, they're hard to mess up but people come back for the experience! Not bad, but probably wouldn't come back!

This spot should be so popular ! The tacos are so filling and bomb. They're always ready to serve you. Thank you!

Amazing spot for Mexican food in the valley, and with super friendly staff as well. Would highly…read morerecommend! I came for lunch Friday afternoon around noon with 3 others and it was pretty busy as it was peak lunch time. You can tell it's a popular spot. You order at the counter first and then get a spot. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but it was super windy the day we came, so no one was sitting outside. I got the Alex burrito without cheese and sour cream for $13.25. Asked for a recommendation for the meat and was told their al pastor is really good, so I went with that. I liked that they call you as they're making your burrito, so you can customize it further (which kind of salsa, onions and cilantro, do you want it cut in half, etc.). As a picky eater, I really appreciated that. We all got burritos, and one friend paid an extra 3 bucks to make it wet. Chips come on the side, and you can help yourself to salsa at their fresh salsa bar. This is the first taqueria I can remember that has a mild tomato salsa without raw onion and very little cilantro. I was excited to see that finally there's a salsa I can eat. My Alex burrito was one of the best burritos I've had imo. The proportion of meat to beans to rice was perfect and the rice tasted great. The al pastor was amazing: super flavorful and smoky. I usually feel like most burritos taste about the same to me, but I definitely found myself enjoying this one more than usual, which says a lot. Also, they're generously sized here. I wasn't able to finish mine despite my best efforts and packed the last quarter to bring home for dinner. I'd like to end my review by mentioning how polite and friendly everyone was, from the guy taking our order to the guy making the food. I was really impressed by this as well, since taquerias usually aren't exactly known for their service. I can't wait to come back!

Great food, great service!…read more Hostess was generous with her time and energy. The food arrived fast and was fresh as heck. When I finished my meal I asked to use the restroom. My new favorite Mexican spot on the west side of the valley!…read more Love this place! I should preface my review by saying that I only leave Yelp reviews if I really loved, or really hated somewhere (be it a restaurant/bar/store/hotel/whatever). Luckily Chavela's is somewhere that I love!! Chavela's was previously "661 Tijuana Tacos", which my wife and I tried once and didn't enjoy. We went back to give them a 2nd chance, but they still sucked, so we didn't go back again. Around 6 months ago, we noticed that there was a new sign up, so we went in to check it out. Thank god, this was a whole new restaurant with new owners, a new cook, and a new menu! (and not just a rebranding of the old place). We decided to try them and OMG, they're FUCKING AMAZING! Pretty much everything appears to be made from scratch, in-house, from the tortillas to the chips, salsas & guacamole. Since that first visit my wife and I have ordered takeout probably 10 times and have never been disappointed. Customer service is excellent, with friendly cashiers both in-person & over the phone, the inside of the restaurant is clean and well laid out, the menu is simple & easy to read, and their "salsa bar" has a good selection of always freshly made salsas, stays well stocked, and is never too messy. We also appreciate the pricing. Chavela's is about 20% cheaper than another local scratch kitchen Mexican spot, that my wife and I loved, but had to stop ordering take-out from because they were just too damn expensive. Here are my recommendations from Chavela's: - Birria anything! Their birria is PHENOMENAL. And their consomme is *chef's kiss*. One of our favorite things to order (and great hangover food) is their birria quesataco combo + consomme to dip the tacos in. Lots of places that have birria & consomme make the consomme super, super salty, and if they're reheating & re-using it, it makes it saltier and saltier each time. Chavela's makes their consomme in the morning, and when it runs out, consomme is done for the day. If there's any left at the end of the day, it goes home with team members. They don't reuse/recycle consomme to the next day! I also love their birria soft tacos and the birria quesadilla. - Asada & al pastor soft tacos. Soft, tender meats with tons of flavor (onions, cilantro, salsa) on homemade tortillas. What more do you need! Vampiros. FIRE!!! Try them yourself and refute me. I dare you! - Tortas. I've only tried their Cubano torta so far, but it was fantastic (and huge). - Chips & Guacamole. All made in-house, with tons of flavor in the guac, and just the right amount of salt on the chips. My ONLY complaints are that they don't do machaca, so we can't get machaca & eggs or machaca burritos, they don't make albondigas soup, and they don't have any kind of customer rewards program or something along the lines of frequent customer cards, etc. Fingers crossed they'll add all these things in the future! Overall, Chavela's is a great Mexican restaurant that is well worth spending your money at!

I'll usually go…read moreto a taco truck when I'm craving tacos but I have been wanting to try this place as I drive by it often. So much regret. So I ordered over the phone for pickup. When I got to the restaurant it was crap parking, and not inviting at all inside. But I kept a positive attitude and got instead, no greeting from the girl. I smiled and said hi to the girl working and she literally just stared at me with the coldest face. I paid for my food and said thank you and again not a smile, not a wave, nothing from anyone. Okay so most important - the food. Firstly, I got the asada fries. The fries were cooked decent but there was just no flavor at all. It also was cold and clumpy as if it'd been sitting a while which was odd bc I got there 10 min after ordering and ate it no more than 10 min later. Then I got 2 plain asada tacos for my kids - so dry and over cooked. The tortillas over powered the meat for all of the tacos, very thick and just not good. And the asada meat was like the end meat in a party tray, just all the burnt bits. Then I got pastor tacos, these weren't as dry but didn't taste like typical pastor tacos. Not impressive but probably the better out of the entire order. Which isn't saying much. Lastly and most upsettingly, it was raining today so I was craving some Birria tacos. Which is what I ordered for myself. When I got them it was not Birria. I asked the girl and she said it's Barbacoa which is the same thing. It was not the same thing. The meat was again super dry, not saucy at all, and just stuck in between regular dry tortillas. Such a letdown. Not one of these dishes had flavor, like not even salt, and the 2 salsa options were very basic also. Definitely will not go back. Also the radishes to go were not fresh in the slightest.
