Their menu July 2025

This taco truck is pretty pricey depending on what you order. I was in the plaza this truck is parked at and was craving nachos so I checked out this taco truck parked on Reseda in front of Northridge University Center. I saw they had nachos on the truck menu but didn't list the price which I can see why. I asked the lady working the window how much was nachos with asada and she give me the price which I thought was pricey. I asked how much was the nachos without any meat and she said the same price which shocked me because it's just chips and cheese. So I didn't believe it was worth the price here. They take online order as well and I couldn't find nachos listed on there, maybe I'll try their tacos next time.

I had the opportunity to take this amazing experience and it was "FIYA". The fries was cooked with a crispiness and they seasoned it . It was great for that pop of seasoning that would pop up from time to time. The meal was heavy, I couldn't finish it, really made for 2 people. The meal cooked perfectly, you see the pic. This was a great experience !

Shrimp and salmon taco with chipotle aioli.

Came here to try out their salmon and shrimp taco. They have two tables and chairs where you could sit and eat there. Pretty good service, they were fast. First and foremost, solid size taco, two tacos is enough to fill you up, which is why I'm giving it a three star and not a two. Apart from the size of the taco, I'm a bit disappointed. No flavor in either the salmon or shrimp. The guacamole salsa, green, and red salsa no flavor. The chipotle aioli was by far the only thing in the taco that had some flavor and spice and made the taco a bit better . The tortilla was also a flour tortilla , hence the size , if it was a corn tortilla maybe it would've helped with the flavor issue. Perhaps the rest of their food items are better seasoned ? Maybe ? Idk. But the salmon and shrimp, hard pass.

Their meat is super mid & their asada fries tasted old & cold & could've used more cheese/ guac & sour cream Their mulitas are a joke; super small & have no toppings; just cheese & meat inside, it's literally a mini quesadilla My husbands California burrito was good & the only decent thing from the few items we tried Would not go back

Queso Birria tacos w/consume

We got 3 asada tacos and 3 queso Birria tacos. The consume was not all red and oily like you usually get. SO flavorful and delicious!!!!! The asada was packed in and the tortillas were super fresh. Definitely going back to try a burrito.

I have been to this taco truck a few times and it has always been a good option. These are good tacos. The service is generally pretty quick as well. I love where they are stationed because there is always a lot of parking, I don't see that ever being an issue here. My friend and I stopped by and ordered 2 tacos de asada and 1 taco al pastor each. They are good tacos but nothing special imo. The tacos are pretty small with what I consider a normal portion of meat for the tortilla size. The asada is lightly seasoned and cooked just about right. The meat texture was soft and missing a light crunchy factor (personal preference). It wasn't dry but it wasn't juicy either. The Al Pastor was decent, it was a bit on the drier side and the flavor doesn't come kicking at you, but it was good with the toppings. As you can see from the picture there is no pineapple in the taco. They used corn tortillas which were soft and an excellent pair to the tacos. You can't go wrong with either the red or green salsa here. Plus the limes they handed us were very juicy. Bonus points because the tacos are not greasy! I would definitely give them another shot and try some of the other items on their menu. If you're considering stopping by, I would recommend giving them a shot and trying it out for yourself.

California burrito Asada.

I got the Cali burrito and steak quesadilla. A Cali burrito has fries instead of rice and beans. I am rounding up from 3 1/2 stars. It was just ok for me. I think Casita Taco in Noho has the best steak quesadillas and this one doesn't really compare. I read several reviews that stated the burritos were huge here but it was similar size to everywhere else. I prefer Taco Llama for some reason. I will try their traditional burrito next time. Their chips were really good and that's what stood out for me. Check them out for yourself.

First time stopping by at El Tacote on a Friday night. It wasn't packed and there were only 3 people ahead of us. We were craving for their Carne Asada Fries, Chicken Taco and Birria Taco. El Tacote definitely satisfied our food cravings. Hands down the best tacos and Carne Asada Fries in the San Fernando Valley. We really like El Tacote because not only do they have delicious tacos, nachos, burritos and fries they also have quality food items and meats with good price points. I've also noticed how consistent they are with providing excellent customer service. Their food portions are also on point. El Tacote is one of the many small businesses and food trucks that we love to support in the San Fernando Valley because not only are their food items really good, they are consistent with practicing quality and customer care.

Food truck with so many delicious options! Parking was super easy as it's in a big shopping center. Two folding tables with chairs set up in front. Waited about 10 minutes for pastor fries, a quesabirria, and a supreme burrito. All were delicious! Will be back. Prices were okay, definitely not cheap but not expensive either. Fries were $16. Taco was $5. Burrito was $16 think?

Had a craving for some carne asada fries so of course had to drop by El Tacote and ordered the Loaded Asada fries! Takes a few minutes but they're quick. Food is made to order and well worth it! Danny took my order and was very hospitable and helpful. He introduced me to Boing! beverage. Yes I'm late to the party lol. Never tried it and Danny suggested the guava. Goes great with the carne asada fries. Not too sweet either. As always the carne asada fries were delicious. Fries were just right. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. Not dry like some spots. The carne asada was tender and very good. Thank you El Tacote!

Nothing like a food truck with awesome tacos! Looking for a spot in the area for a late lunch and there it was. I took a moment to review the menu, layered with several pictures of tacos and tostadas on the windows. The woman was nice taking my order. There are tables and chairs set up for eating on the spot. The plate is a great value, at $12 for a set of 3 street tacos with rice and beans. I also threw in a shrimp taco for good measure. All were delicious and hit the spot.

Fancy ordering on screens

The first time I went on a weekday in the middle of the day, so it was super empty and not the best because nothing was being made fresh- the meats and potatoes were kind of just sitting in bins so although the flavor was there, the cooled down temperatures really affected the taste. HOWEVER, I visited a few more times after that, these times all late at night, which really turned my experience around. I think at those times there were a lot more people and long lines, so everything was being made fresh and it being hot just made the food taste so so much better. I love how the toppings are all self-serve, and the hot potato is my favorite side. Carne asada, lengua, and al pastor are my go-tos. You'll want to add hellaaa green sauce to everything- I could literally drink that stuff straight. Love the big easy parking lot here, I'll mention that I saw a few security people checking all the cars and plates so I wouldn't recommend trying to park here and walk somewhere else!

I was able to snag two tacos for $4.50 that tided me over until dinner time. Now: bring your car because there's no place to sit! I arrived on foot, so dined standing up. Quite a variety of means - I'm a "safe" eater and enjoyed pollo and asada. I loved the self-serve salsas; the green salsa was delish and had a good little kick to it. Happy to have found this spot, and want to come back! 2026: 32/100

For for first timers, I'd recommend ordering the Villa's Trio which is what I got. Those come with the Ranchera Asada quesotaco as well as the Papas con Chorizo and Black Bean con Pollo quesotacos which are a trio exclusive. All the tacos were meaty, flavorful, and crispy. You honestly don't even need the side sauces since the tacos are already flavorful on their own. Great quality. I also got the Watermelon Agua Fresca which was refreshing, tasty, and sweet. Goes well with the tacos. I also got the Jamaica Agua Fresca, but that one was a bit too tart for my liking. The line can get long, so I would prepare to wait for up to an hour on weekends. There's ample free parking at the grocery store lot nearby. For seating and tables, it's limited and competitive. You just have to get lucky if a spot clears up as soon as you get your food. I also like how the restaurant handles crowd control. They allow a couple of people at a time to go inside, order, and get their condiments. You wait outside until they call you for your food. I like that it didn't feel crowded while I was getting my condiments. I highly recommend this spot and I will definitely be coming back.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We only got the carne asada and the al pastor but it was so good we went back in line for seconds. The meat was very flavorful - the carne asada was thin but still very tender. The al pastor, I think uses a fattier cut than some other places but keeps it from drying out. The tacos were leaking meat juices still. The surrounding streets are quite dark at night but the parking lot the stand is in, is well lit and there is a covered seating area. We went on Thanksgiving weekend and there were maybe always 15-20 ppl in line at any given time. I imagine there are longer lines in the summer.

We ordered just a couple tacos - one asada and one tripa, based on reading numerous recommendations that those are what to get here. $3.50 a taco which is not bad for a restaurant taco. It's a cool casual vibe here. Seating inside as well as the patio. They have tasty looking horchata and other agua frescas. Colorful walls. They bring your food out to you by calling your name. The tacos were loaded with a pretty decent amount of meat and toppings. But sadly we were far from impressed by the flavor. The asada was okay and better than the tripa, but it paled in comparison to our go-to taco trucks in the area which only costs $1. And the tripa was strange to eat in taco form. The tripa is crunchy small pieces so it just feels odd to eat in a taco. Maybe if it was just served as an appetizer to eat by itself, but even then, it kinda just feels like you're eating pellets. Don't see the hype unfortunately.
