Lets get into the stuff that really matters though: Banh Mi Dip: Have you ever had a bahn mi with a side of broth to dip it in? If you havent this is your call to action. This banh mi is filled with brisket, pate, onions, and paired with a side of oxtail broth. By itself the banh mi slapped nicely, but when you actually get that dip in the broth it takes it to the next level. One of my favorite new bites in the city. Definitely get this. Spring Rolls: Fresh, standard, but also pretty huge. No complaints here. Get these. Fish Sauce Wings: These were nice. Nice, light, and crispy batter with a full of flavor fish sauce. I wouldnt come thru here anytime without having this as part of the order. Get this. Viet Coffee: Solid. If you want that punch me in the mouth flavor with the slap you to wake up caffeine this is what you're gonna want to get. Get this. I chopped it up with some of the workers while I was there. Justifiably expensive. This review is only for the ribeye hotpot and brisket sandwich dip. I never had a vietnamese sandwich for $17 but they do not skimp. It's loaded with juicy beef brisket and a side of bone marrow broth. Very unique and hearty. The ribeye hotpot is sold at market price and I got it for $38. It's a bit of an experience turning pho into a hot pot. They give plenty of ribeye slices and your typical bean sprouts, lemon, onions, leafy greens. Can definitely feed 2 ppl. It also comes with a big side bowl of noodles with the broth and that was more than enough. The broth was delicious and quality of the ribeye was good. I'm from the bay and there's plenty of pho restaurants even outside of Viet town but some places just have that overly salty flavor, I thought the broth was very well made here. The shop is a little small and can be hard to find seating. Hope they are thinking about expanding! It's definitely delicious! read more

A very popular spot for Banh Mi and Pho. We loved both the Chicken and Grilled Pork Banh Mi. The meats were so juicy and perfectly charred with the grill. The bread was also made super fresh that the inside was fluffy while the crust was crispy. Perfect amount of sauce and fresh herbs as well. Service was slow and chaotic, however. We got to Saigon Drip Cafe on a Saturday about 11 am and we just beat the lunch rush because after we sat down the crowds never stopped coming in and the to go orders never stopped appearing on the counter. This place is super popular and they recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary! They even have a free selfie cam and a Taylor Swift stand up in the lobby for great photo ops! We were greeted warmly by the staff and they even offered us a free small order of chicken wings if we left an online review for them. The food and drink at Saigon Drip Cafe is so yummy and the place was hopping! I bought a Mango Black Tea for my drink along with my complimentary Yelp sandwich. We ate in the restaurant and got to see the crowds and the staff working throughout our visit. I noticed the menu prices were rather affordable with several sandwiches offered at $10. The hotpot entrees served here seemed rather popular with the customers as well. Several people had those while we were there. I loved my sweet Mango Black Tea and tried my daughter's Taro Milk Tea and it was also delicious. Little cafe serving pho, banh mi, and vermicelli bowls. It's located in the middle of pioneer square, so not a lot of parking, but street parking is not impossible. You order at the counter and then can take a seat. I ordered the pork vermicelli bowl. It came out pretty quick and we were offered waters as well. But since it's counter service, that's the extent service wise. The vermicelli bowl itself was okay! I liked the thick cut pickled radish and carrots. The egg roll was super fresh and crunchy. The pork was also nicely seasoned and they gave pretty generous portions of the meat. My only gripe with the place is that it's a bit expensive for what it is. There isn't anything standout special about this place that warrants a $20 bowl. I'd definitely be open to trying the banh mi though, since that's what they're known for! It's like what a philly cheesesteak should have always been. The tender cuts of meat have the perfect ratio of meat and fat, and are marinated in a lightly sweet and savory, umami-rich way. The bread is perfectly fluffy and just the right bite. The balance of mayo and ultra caramelized onions add the perfect balance. All the parts come together for a rich, flavor-packed experience and dipping it in the broth completes it 100% - the bun soaks up the spiced slightly star anise, cinnamon broth perfectly. Service was super fast. My only wish is they had for-here, as the default is to-go containers. I went during Friday dinner on a cold night, there wasn't a ton of people there - not sure if it's just the particular location in ID but this place deserves so much business. We first heard about Saigon Drip Cafe through the Yelp Elite Badge program, as Saigon Drip was sponsoring a Yelp event. In past events, it's usually a group setting at a specific time, so the experience at the event would likely differ then what you might expect/experience if you were to walk in off the street to place an order. However, this event was an all week event that pretty much (in the interest of full disclosure) provides a free Banh Mi sandwich to Yelp Elite members that drop by within that one week timeframe. So, in that sense, I feel comfortable to say it's pretty much the exact same experience as when you walk in off the street, you place your order, wait for it to be prepped, and it's provided free of charge. They are located right in the heart of Pioneer Square, just around the corner on S Washington Street. The ambiance was really nice, decorative, whimsical, engulfing me in a sense of welcomeness. It's obvious a lot of thought was put into all of the many touches of the charming decor scattered throughout their eatery. In the words of the immortal Rowdy Roddy Piper in the movie "They Live" ... "we came to do two things, eat ~vegan~ food and write/share our thoughts" (admittedly, I might be paraphrasing just a slight bit ). We ordered, we ate, we conquered (our appetites), and now ... we write (insert dramatic audio queue, or just ask Alexa to play one of the 5 songs from 95.7 the Jet Seattle, whatever works for you, really!). In addition to the complimentary Banh Mi sandwich, I placed an order for an additional one as well, in this manner my wife could enjoy a full sandwich of her own and we could properly patronize the establishment for their generosity! For both sandwiches, we opted for their only vegan option, the Vegan Vortex, with tofu and vegan mayo. I'll never get tired of expressing my gratitude when an eatery places a vegan labelled item on the menu instead of me having to guess at what might be "accidentally vegan". With all of the above being said, and without further adoo .. let's talk about .. the vegan food! I thought I was dropping by for a sandwich, hadn't realized that what I truly signed up for was an experience. Their Vegan Vortex Banh Mi was so ridiculously amazing! The first exposure you have of the sandwich is through the senses of your sight and smell as the sandwich just screams *fresh* and there's such a variety of delightful smells that envelope your senses as you go in for your first bite. There's a lot going on here and my job is to break it down for you. From the first bite, you are completely reeled in, delving into a pillowy soft, warm, flaky baguette that just melts in your mouth! Bite after addicting bite just continues to snare you in further. As you continue to explore the sandwich, you're hit with the freshness of the carrot shreds and cilantro, the tofu flavored perfectly and with a nice soft bite and chew, the thin jalapeno slices I had definitely will kick you into tomorrow but in a delightful way that has you asking "thank you, may I have another!". If you're a fan of that kick, you'll love the jalapeno slices and appreciate the reserved manner they employ them, just the right amount without overwhelming the sandwich. If you're not a fan, simply pull them out lol. Last, the vegan mayo is tasty, with also a good amount to bring every bite together but not so much as to be .. too much. Given the myriad of elements in this sandwich, balance is important, something Saigon Drip Cafe has on point! This place definitely lived up to the hype, starting from the modern decor & stylish ambience to the actual dishes that had a slight twist to their traditional counterparts. I tried the Chicken Wings, Banh Mi French Dip, and Bun Bo Hue Hot Pot: - The wings had a nice glaze of caramelization with the fish sauce - packed of goodness of umami flavor - The Banh Mi French Dip is where it's at! Fatty brisket and mayo-intense sandwich that you dip into this rich pho broth. Reminds me of a Philly cheesesteak with an Asian twist. Would have loved it if this Banh Mi had a more decent amount of pate, but that's just me and I heart my liver spread - BBH Hot Pot is only available during weekends and there's a reason why: this dish is humongous! You build your own bowl of BBH with noodles, all the fixings, beef slices, short rib, and, yes, even pork blood. Large portion that can easily feed 3-4, and the staff will come over to refill the broth for you Finally, have fun with the selfie machine there, as well as the Taylor Swift cardboard cutout (lol). First time trying the banh mi drip and I finally get the hype now. I have been here once before for their bun Bo hue hot pot which was aightttt. This time we happen to be there during happy hour and was able to use my $10 reward towards another item. I decided to get 20 fish sauce wings fries and boba. The sandwich was incredible and probably the best thing I've had in a while - meat melts in your mouth and the broth for dipping was so flavorful. I'm definitely coming back to try their pho from how good the broth was. The bok bok b*tch was good, another option to get. Their other banh mi options looked good as well, but you have to try the banh mi drip. Wish it came with a side of the veggies w/ the order and not as an additional charge, but it tasted so good that it's forgivable. Pleasantly surprised! I was craving bahn mi so found this place on yelp and visited on Sunday afternoon. The employees were pretty friendly - they highly recommended the bahn mi drip, and said we will even get a refund if we don't like it. One downside was that the tables were not cleaned so we cleaned it ourselves. But the food came out pretty quickly and we really loved everything! Bahn mi drip (5/5): the bread was so perfect - crispy on the outside and soft in the inside that wraps super juicy and tender beef with flavorful caramelized onions and mayo that comes with a side of broth for dipping. But I preferred the beef in bahn mi drip over the grilled pork. My girlfriend and I really wanted to try the pho hot pot but it was unfortunately sold out at the time, so we each got the banh mi drip (their top seller) instead. The baguette was crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The dip was also good in combination with the banh mi, but alone was a bit too salty. Ordering was simple--just place your order on the tablets, sit down, and wait for them to bring out your food. It wasn't busy when we got there (around 6:00pm on a Friday) so our food came out within a couple of minutes. The ambiance was decent, a very casual sit down environment. There was a nice variety of seating, decorations, and even a little photo stand to take some pictures. I stopped by saigon drip on a wednesday around 2pm and it was a great time! My friend and I were just looking at the menu outside and were lured inside by the smells and really friendly workers. I was greeted multiple times and asked if I needed help so I appreciated how attentive and personable the staff here are! They also gave recommendations and a run down of the menu. I love banh mis and these are their specialty, so I got their most popular item, the banh mi drip ($16.54). It's beef brisket with a side of beef bone marrow soup. I thought the flavor was great and the beef was so juicy!!! I will say the soup was on the sweeter side which surprised me and I think a more savory taste would have been better. The banh mi drip was something I've never seen or done before with my banh mi. Basically the banh mi comes with pho broth, which you dip your banh mi that contains pho brisket and caramelized onions into! This gives off a savory flavor that elevates the whole idea of a regular banh mi. I would highly recommend the banh mi drip. The WORLD* Famous Chicken Wings in the flavor Haunted Heatwave were good, but boy were they spicy! My boyfriend had to down water to calm down. The flavor is definitely manageable if you have high spice tolerance like me, but definitely be sure to order drinks to go with it. The Cafe Sua was rich and strong for my boyfriend, I'm not a coffee person so I didn't really like it. I really liked the Passion Fruit Mango Limeade though! It was very refreshing and perfect! We drove in from Portland and arrived just after 5 PM. Unfortunate because we realllyyy wanted to try their betel leaf banh mi. A lot of menu items aren't available after 5pm. We'll have to go back some day to try it! We did end up getting the cold cut and the banh mi drip. Both were really great, even heated up the next day. I also loved that they were super dog friendly. Xin chaó. Great pho. We both ordered the beef - I ordered small, which is plenty, in my opinion. Broth is on the sweeter side compared to what I'm used to. They use cinnamon and maybe something else. It's delicious. Hit the spot on this rainy Seattle day. You walk in and order via the monitor, they will call your name when ready and bring to your table. Fast, good service. Cute spot! read more

We stumble upon this restaurant since it was so close to our hotel. When we came we were greeted very kindly and received a few recommendations of what to order. The restaurant is very cute. Their phrase is "from Saigon to Seattle" and the interior is very Vietnamese inspired but mixed with American culture. I loved it. The banh mi drip was so delicious. The bread was crunchy and the filling was juicy. It was literally dripping even before I even ate the sandwich. The broth it came with was steaming hot and complimented the bread. Really wanted to love this place, but just didn't. The food: I've never in my life seen "market price" hot pot. Like what in the world? The bahn mi dip was greasy, but good. It didn't come with pickled veggies inside though, you have to pay for those separately. All it comes with is cilantro and onions by request. For the food on its own, 4 stars. The place is small, but bright. However, the chairs don't have backs on them, which can be challenging for people who have back issues, have coats (no coat hooks anywhere either), or have handbags (probably many of us) - at least provide a basket or something? We ordered two drinks - one limeade regular and one limeade salted. When they were brought to us, server had no idea which was which and acted like it was crazy we'd ask him or expect him to know. Wtf? Finally, it's another one of those order yourself at a kiosk at the counter, get your name called to get your food, then bus yourself places, but still has 18% as the minimum tip option. read more
