A Chinese buns and dumpling stand. Very popular stand for a great reason. Very delicious bbq pork buns. Line may be long but service is pretty quick. We also tried curry buns and shrimp and chive dumplings. All were very delicious and defenetely will return to get more.

I went to Mee Sum in the late afternoon and was happy to see that their usual line was not very long. I ordered a Vegetable Hom Bow and a red bean sesame bun. It seems like they are known for their pork buns, but I'm pescatarian, so I was happy to see some veggie options. I really loved the red bean sesame bun. It was the perfect consistency with a crispy outside and doughy inside. The vegetable hom bow was not my favorite. The texture and the bread was nice but the flavor of the filling was a little too sweet for me and reminded me of ketchup. I'm sure this place is popular for their meat pastries, so maybe next time I'll try one with seafood.

Delicious pastry shop in Pike Place! Try their matcha sesame ball and pineapple bun as well! Fast service! 5/5 - Baked BBQ Pork Hombow - Well seasoned pork in a warm and soft bun! Filling and savory. An absolute must try if you visit this bakery!

Mee sum pastry was recommended to us when we visited Seattle. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised to see a wide array of different pastries to select from. We were able to order a few must try items and share it with everyone. The pastries were fresh, authentic, and affordable. Definitely recommend it!

I have a hilarious story about Mee Sum Pastry. I grabbed a BBQ pork hom bao to share with a friend, and while I was enjoying my half, a tiny bird swooped in like a ninja, snatched it right from my hands, and dropped it on the ground. Shockingly, that half bao met its end faster than I could have eaten it! My friend, feeling sympathetic, kindly offered me her half. The bao itself was tasty. I've had similar ones near home for a bit less, so the prices here are slightly higher than what I'd expect for Chinese pastries. But if the birds are anything to go by, they give it a solid 5 stars! The wait was a lot shorter than what social media shows, but it could also be a slow season for tourists.

This place is truly iconic - it's been around forever and remains a beloved institution at the market. I always make a point to stop by for some combination of the char siu skewer, baked hum bow, and sesame ball. They also offer classic Hong Kong and Taiwanese-style drinks, hot meals, a wide selection of Chinese pastries, and even have a dedicated boba shop right next door. Service is quick and casual, dim sum counter-style. You order at the counter, pay, and they assemble everything right in front of you for takeaway. It's efficient, no-frills, and exactly what you want in a market staple.

I have been seeing Mee Sum Pastry on my FYP and I knew I had to check it out when we were in Pike's Place Market. Trying to pace myself, I only ordered a the baked bbq pork bun and their large shumai. Ummmm, can I just say how the shumai was so big and the filling was so flavorful, juicy and delicious. It was around $6 for one so I only ordered one since I wanted to pace myself but I kid you not it was probably one of the best bites there. The bbq pork bun was good too, it's super similar to what we have in the Philippines I just wish it had more filling. The line can get a little scary but everyone is so fast and efficient you're barely in there for long so definitely make your way to Mee Sum Pastry.

First thing we tried at Pike's! We got the steamed hom bao and baked hom bao. I generally like the baked version, but the steamed one came out hot! Both were really good so I would recommend both. For $5, it's pretty steep though. As someone who frequents the SGV, the prices and taste really can't be beat there.

Shu mai and shrimp and chive dumpling

I had heard so much about mee sum pastry off of social media and I was dying to try during my trip to Seattle! My sister and I wanted a small bite to hold us over as we were trying a lot of foods within the vicinity of pike place market. We had gotten the shu mai and shrimp and chive dumpling. Hands down it was the best shu mai we have tried, it wasn't super fatty and it was surprisingly light. The favors were really tasty. The shrimp and chive dumpling was pretty good but I would definitely reorder the shu mai over and over again!

Super friendly lady smoothly stirred our attention (and wallets) into this spot for coffee while we were walking around the area. We tried some espresso based drinks (iced americano and iced mocha) and both were delicious with surprisingly good quality espresso. They also had a huge variation with drinks falling into "[insert a noun] fog latte" and chai categories which was intriguing. They seem to be very popular as we saw people lining up there all day, looks like their pastures and dim sum are very popular! Keep in mind that this is not a sit-down spot and you'll have to keep moving after grabbing your snack and/or drink

Tried their BBQ Pork Hom Bow, BBQ pork on a stick, and the Chive Shrimp Dumpling! I wanted to try their Egg Tarts but it was sold out! I was there before closing so if that's your fav like me, go when it opens. Located in front of the Public Market- Downtown Seattle- if you love Chinese Dumplings, and Pastries, this is the spot!! The BBQ pork breading is nicely breaded- not thick where the dough is overpowering the meat- there was actually more meat! This was my fav- I like a nice buttery crust, and this is what it gave! I will be back!

BBQ pork skewer and curry hum bao

Came here around 645pm on a Thursday. No line and met the cashier right away. She seemed like she had a long day or something. Ordered the bbq pork skewer and the curry hum bao. Both were warm, tasty, and hot the spot.

Popular Chinese dim sum stand in Pike Place. There are usually long lines here, especially on weekends. We went on a weekday early. We ordered one baked BBQ Bao and one steamed BBQ Bao. Both were delicious. The filling is good and has a generous amount inside. We also ordered Sesame Balls that were good. Service was quick and friendly. The stall is filled with a lot bakery items and very attractive from street level. It's good to have Chinese takeout here in Pike Place and I'm sure it'll be here forever.

Greetings at the door were kind of awkward can't explain how or why, it just was lol. Since it was just myself, I opted to sit at the bar. Found seating at the oyster bar. Was greeted pretty quickly by Brandon. Service from waitstaff was kind of on the slower side (I had to grab my own menus since some time had passed... not sure if this was supposed to be handed to me at the front or not), it also took a bit to get my order and tab. But once i ordered the food came out pretty quickly (just got oysters, a beer, and chowder). But my waiter was def super friendly! Could've just been an off night. I think the saving grace here for my experience was Brandon! Glad I opted to sit at the oyster bar. This was my first time into Seattle, therefore first time visiting Elliot's. Appreciated the tidbits of knowledge he dropped regarding the oysters - honestly made me appreciate it more! Had him pick 6 different ones since I didn't have any context of the different species of oysters. Chatting with Brandon also felt like catchin up with an old friend. The oysters were delish! Super fresh and my favorite was the shigoku. The amount of oyster choices they had were overwhelming, in a good way! The spicy crab and corn chowder was also bomb, which was also recommended by Brandon as I was originally just going to try the classic/regular one. Id totally come back here again next time in town.

So when I woke up still craving shellfish, RockCreek was the call. It was the right one. A dozen oysters to start: Kumamoto and Shigoku. Clean -- no grit, no sand. Whatever they're doing back there, it's working. The brine was full and present in every shell, and the mignonette hit that rare sweet spot of light but actually seasoned. The Winter Old Fashioned? Get it. It was so delicious. Then came the crab Benedict. The side salad alone was worth writing home about -- big, buttery, peppery leaves draped in one of those feather-light vinaigrettes that sounds simple until you try to replicate it at home and realize you can't. But the real star of the entire plate was the potatoes. Crispy outside, genuinely fluffy inside, seasoned with conviction. A masterpiece is not too strong a word. Closed with a glass of pink wine. Was eyeing the bottle with the piglet on the label, but it was bottle-only -- a distinction I find increasingly arbitrary as a former server and bartender. One day that policy will be a relic. Not yet, apparently. Best brunch I've had in Seattle in two years. Highly recommend.

Upon walking in, we noticed the server was pretty quick to take the initiative to push a couple high tops together since most of the tables only sat 2. (Didn't think I needed to ask after mentioning a severe allergy) He just stepped away and looked like he was trying to find out from someone in the kitchen. He came back shortly after and gave us our options. We ordered a few different things to share, oysters, the fish dip and mussels tostada. The vibe we got was that he did not enjoy serving us because we had a child with us and I seem to be asking him too many questions. That is the impression he left with us. I will say the oysters were very fresh and enjoyable. We also got the crab Mac n cheese which was cheesy and tasty. We asked him for some more chips since we ran out quickly for the smoked oyster dip. He seemed annoyed but got us more. I could overhear that he sounded more pleasant with the other guests surrounding us. The mussels tostada flavors were nice but I didn't love the texture of them which is totally just my preference. He dropped off the check shortly after and noticed there was a 18% gratuity which I found out is standard for downtown Seattle. Being in the industry I do think it's a courtesy to mention it when dropping off the check to a guest. On another note, I did think the seafood tank in the center was cool because you could see all the geoduck and oysters they were offering. Overall, I think we wanted to enjoy our experience more but the servers attitude and demeanor towards us was off putting and we just tried to eat quickly and leave. Don't think we'll return to this location.
