Good food and nice location. The service is mediocre. Everything is done via cell phone. We got there and there were empty tables and staff standing around. Instead of helping us when we said 2 she rudely told us to check in. We were there a couple of days before and someone asked us how many and walked us to our table. It was a Friday night. Not particularly busy at 9pm. Reasonably priced. Small portions on some items. I had the beef stew. It was very good on a cold rainy night.

So delicious!! And any restaurant with the option to eat delicious food for under $10 in Seattle deserves ten stars. Our favorite was the beef steamed dumplings! Next favorite was the pork soup dumplings! We will absolutely be back to try more. Can't wait! I will be dreaming about dumplings

Decided to try Dough Zone on a Monday for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. There is paid street parking, if not there is a paid parking lot right behind the restaurant. The staff were friendly and we were seated immediately by the window. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean; the bathrooms are right outside and need a code to get in. The prices were so good that we tried a variety of dishes. We ordered the Green Onion Pancake, Sweet and Sour Cucumbers, Dan Dan Noodles, Yibin Noodles, Chicken Potstickers, and Chicken and Vegetable Won Tons with Spicy Sauce. We also got their Ube Milk Tea. Great balance of flavors. The filling for the dumplings and won tons are a little dense but still good. The cucumbers don't look like much but they have such a nice crunch and super refreshing. The milk tea had good ube flavor without tasting artificial.

It was fairly quiet for a Friday afternoon. We came in and it looked nice, clean, and friendly. They were helpful with the menu and recommended some items for us. We got their original tan tan noodles, soup dumplings and one other item to try. Overall I would come back to try more items on the menu.

I can't believe I had to travel all the way to Seattle to experience the best dumplings I've ever had! My girlfriends and I wanted something different aside from all the chowders we've consumed all weekend and took a short walk here from our hotel. I wouldn't suggest walking, just uber or drive if you're a local. Now let me tell you about the food! We shared a few items and everything we ordered was so damn good! I was so busy eating I'm surprised I was able to take a few pics of the food. It was honestly the best dumplings I've ever had, so flavorful that my mouth is watering as I type this! And it was super affordable too! If I visit Seattle again this is where I'm going first! Happy eating!!

Today was great as no line was there even for a weekend. I was taken to a table next to the window. Food was always good but the seasonal crepe was a little bit too sweet to me. I still loved the tea, which was strong and robust.

Dough zone seems like to be a great restaurant for those that enjoy chatter in the restaurant and eat meat. Unfortunately, neither of those are me. Dough Zone does not have that many vegetable options. The veggie options I got were good quality but felt very basic in profile. Coincidentally, my favorite food was the cucumbers. For example, the veggie potstickers only had 2 vegetables I think. Though this restaurant is very efficient. They were pretty quick and they picked up our order as soon as we waived them over. The food was fast to come out too. I wish they had better dessert and drink options too. I also think the price was good but matched the middle ground quality. The servers don't have great recommendations but they try their best

Spacious, conveniently-located, great service, and amazing food! This was our first meal upon arrival in Seattle, and it hit the spot! You need to get the soup dumplings- everything about them is perfect, including the ginger/vinegar sauce and the broth. The potstickers had a uniquely crunchy outside I've never seen before. And the Chinese crepe packed some heat in addition to crunchiness. We filled out what we wanted on an order sheet that was on the table, and each item came out when it was ready. The staff were the best mix of attentive but also left us alone when we didn't need anything. Highly recommend!

The food quality here is on par with the main location in Bellevue, but the service here is top notch! It is not just my imagination; I had Dough Zone elsewhere just the night before and it wasn't nearly as good. This is my new favorite Dough Zone location. The inside seating is gorgeous and very spacious. They even have an insanely huge hallway for waiting. They serve some items here that are not always available at all locations.

I'm speechless. Recommend the xoa long bao and the dan dan noodles! The chrysanthemum tea was an exceptional delight. We appreciated the natural lighting and sleek interior!

What an incredible meal! It was 6 of us and we were able to get seated right away on a Friday night (lucky us)! They also have an online waitlist feature that definitely can come in handy. The service was perfectly attentive and the spacing of the food was great. We ordered a variety of things but the highlight of the meal was the hot and sour glass noodles. YUUUM! The chili sauce dumplings were also a fan favorite. Great ambiance, service, and food. And the price!! All 6 of us dined for around $115. Very reasonable.

Cool local chain to get dumplings and Asian cuisine. Dough Zone has a few locations, including this one in the International District. It has a slightly fancy yet still pretty casual feel, if you can call it that. Has a good variety of dumplings and plenty more to choose from. There's pretty okay options for vegetarians it seems. At dinner we came to get a few of the favorites. It's a popular local chain that has quite a few locations around Seattle. This seems like the best one, with it being in Chinatown and all that. Got seated and it wasn't a long wait for everything. It's $5 for the Green Tea. Cold and refreshing. Of course we needed to get food too. It's about $5 for appetizers. The Sweet And Sour Cucumbers are sliced cucumbers with chili oil and a sweet and sour sauce. Good but it was too light. The main course would satisfy us. It's about $6 for an order of dumplings. The Vegetable Dumplings are filled with carrots, mushrooms, and peas. For sure we could visit this location or another one again. It's got this one on 5th Avenue at King. There's a few things to get for vegans and vegetarians.

    Yes they accept AmEx.

Do we need reservations to get a spot?

You can get on the yelp waitlist when you get there or when you're almost there. As far as I know and have seen, this is the only way to get a spot! (tldr: no res only waitlist )

Are you guys open for dine in today; New Years Eve?

Are they open on Christmas? If so, what are their hours?

All our locations will be open for take-out and delivery on Christmas at regular hours. As usual, you can order take-out by giving us a call or order on DoorDash/Caviar/Chowbus for delivery.

What gluten free options are available? I don't expect there to be many, but it's nice to have a little when others order it :)

Absolutely there are plenty of dumplings made with only rice flour or even tapioca flour. And there are awesome meet and veggie appetizers like spicy beef brisket and tendon and crispy tofu those are all gluten free . There are dumplings made with… Read more

Can you take food to go?

The website menu doesn't show any gluten-free options. Are there any? I am meeting friends here and don't want to end up just watching them eat delicious dumplings and not have anything myself.

I am afraid the answer is no. I have a menu at my desk and see nothing about gluten free or even asking for options. Some of the noodle dishes might be gluten free depending on what kind of noodle it is but also not sure how sensitive you are to… Read more

I also waited until they are really closed to write this review (no need to write a 2 Stars review when they are already closing). Their food was rather bland and looked lifeless; in Chinese terms, that means no wok hei. The inside was filled with people who read the same Seattle Times article. The servers were very busy trying to keep up. We sat at a table that is normally used for themselves, looking at their statues of deities that have blessed with decades of business (despite meh food). The Food: Beef with Barleygreen Hand Shaven Chow Mein, $21 - 2 Stars We are big fans of hand shaven noodles (go to Spicy Talk). When I read about a barleygreen variant, I was totally - sign me up! These noodles are boiled and lightly stir-fried with minimum seasoning, oil, and flame in a way that I would have made at home. That is a low bar (no joke). These are pale, possibly seasoned with maybe salt only. It was a dull dish. The beef is separately cooked; those pieces have a touch more flame. House Special Barleygreen Hand Shaven Chow Mein, $22 - 2 Stars Same comment for this combination dish of shrimp, chicken, and squid - it is even more pale and lifeless than the beef version. Pork Steamed Dumplings or Xiao Long Bao, $15 - 2 Stars Though folks will argue the origins of XLB, Shanghai is one of the supposed origins. With a restaurant name that has Shanghai in it, I thought their XLB should be good. Wrong. The skin is thick, and they have the look of machine-made pinched tip. These are similar to ones that I can buy frozen in an Asian market. The only good thing is the inside does have broth.

Good dinner! Very tasty, served promptly, the tea was hot and fresh too. Not very crowded. Good…read moreatmosphere.

We went on a Wednesday around 6:30pm and had no wait to get seated. The restaurant has parking that is shared with many other vendors along a line, and I can definitely foresee parking becoming a issue during busy hours as there aren't a ton of parking spots - just to note during peak business hours. We were the only diners during our visit, so service was focused entire on us - I personally felt that the service could have been better as the waitress made us feel a bit rushed when ordering. The ambiance is casual dine in, with Chinese inspired decor. The lighting was a little bit off as it was pretty dim with a fluorescent color - unfortunately felt a bit like they were at closing time with the ambiance vibes. We ordered three dishes, which I'll review down below: Lions Head Meatballs ($25): I've had lion's head meatballs at another Chinese establishment on Eastside, and these are decent meatballs in comparison for very slightly cheaper. Tender and nice light flavor, it is nice that they are supplemented with bok choy as they are quite hearty. Salted Egg and Shrimp Tofu ($20): I think this was my favorite dish out of the three. Better quantity and the salted egg gives a nice creamy and subtle savory flavor, and goes nicely with rice. Tofu is cooked well, and there is a small scattering of shrimp throughout the plate. Shanghai Style Braised Kaofu ($15): A cold Shanghai kaofu is a classic dish that I've tried many times, and I think a restaurant should serve if they are Shanghainese. The kaofu has nice flavor - not too sweet and not too salty with a pleasing spongey texture. I only wished that the quantity was bigger for $15 - the spoon for scale really gives the impression of how large the plate was, and underneath the initial layer of kaofu you see in the picture, there unfortunately wasn't any more, just other components like bamboo shoots and woodear. Though most of the dishes had good flavor, the pricing was steep considering the amount of food you get for the price you pay. I left still feeling a bit hungry as Shanghai dishes are usually lighter and don't fill you up as much. Though there aren't too many other Shanghai restaurants to compare to on Eastside, I'll probably put Shanghai House at like a 3.5/5 in all things considered.
