    Kimchi! It was fire

My friend and I came here for dinner a few days ago, and I was pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in the Factoria area! With ample parking and few customers inside, my friend and I were seated immediately (well she got there first but that's what she told me). My friend mentioned that staff kinda just look at you and give you either the Korean or Chinese menu and since she's Korean we got the Korean menu - I don't really have a problem with this but maybe I wanted to check out the Chinese food too! I saw some other reviews complaining about the service but I didn't encounter any problems! They were prompt, checked in on us, and very friendly! My friend and I definitely felt bad though cause the restaurant closed at 8:30 and we were there until close just chatting. In terms of food, my friend and I split the black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork - both of which I HIGHLY recommend. I personally like how the sweet and sour pork came separated between the pork and sauce, so we could either pour the sauce over or just dip individual pieces. The sauce came in a massive bowl with tons of toppings, and the pork itself was perfectly crispy! I also really enjoyed the sauce for the black bean noodles - good seasoning and not too salty! The food was also well-priced for the portions you receive. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try! I can definitely see myself coming back in the future!

Went with a large group (reserve a room in advance) and was able to try a lot of dishes. Although it was hit or miss, I would definitely go back just for the stir fried rice cake with shepherd's purse, the fried pumpkin coated with salted egg yolk, and Shanghainese yellow eel -- so good! Service is also fast and a bit no-nonsense. A spot with some very delicious and unique dishes that you can't really find anywhere else in the area. I can see it becoming one of my go-tos.

The food here was pretty flavorful! It is more Asian fusion with a Korean menu as well. I went with a party of 4 and we ordered 4 dishes and white rice for the 4 of us. The rice was nice and fluffy and it was tasty! Always a good idea to have a side of it because it goes with everything. We also got the noodles which had beef and it had a lot of flavor. We got the string beans with garlic -- delicious and full of garlic flavor. The fish was flavorful as well. The fish is a more numbing spice so if you are sensitive to spice I would not get this fish. We also ordered a pork dish that I did not eat and forgot to take a picture. It had a good amount of pork for 3 people and it also had a lot of tofu curd string type thing in it as well... which kind of seemed like a filler to me, however it may just be how the dish is supposed to be! Everyone seemed to like it. It was in a brown sauce. FYI They do check vaccination cards.

tldr; delicious food with great portions, quick service Visited today for lunch around 1 pm - not many people in the restaurant and ample parking. Our party of 3 was seated at a booth immediately. We ordered off the Korean menu, and got the classics; (black bean noodle) (spicy seafood soup) and (sweet and sour pork). The Pork came out first, and I could tell it had been freshly fried - some places pre-fry and reheat, but it was so good here because it tasted fresh. The sauce was not too sweet or sour and had a great amount of toppings inside as well. The other two dishes were surprisingly delicious too. The black bean noodles tasted a bit overcooked, but the sauce was really good and not too salty. The spicy seafood soup had a fair amount of seafood in it, and the broth tasted really clear. Wasn't super spicy. Overall, I would recommend if you're looking for some good Korean-style Chinese food. They also have a regular Chinese menu for Shanghai dishes, but we only ordered off the Korean menu.

Not sure why Yelp also has this place listed as Korean in addition to Chinese but it's definitely wholly Chinese lol. We came on Chinese New Year and it wasn't very busy. Service was pretty fast too but the dishes each came out in very distinct intervals. For 3 people, this was a perfect amount (we finished everything) - kao fu, veggie fried rice, salted egg yolk covered pumpkin, red braised pork belly, and green beans. We weren't originally going to get the fried rice but rice was $2 a serving anyway so we figured might as well. I've never had kao fu before but it's this seitan dish thats's saucy and sweet. Quite good. Green beans were good as the standard, and I love any salted egg pumpkin dishes anywhere so that was good. The pork belly was quite thick and sweet for me but I'm weird about not liking that. Others definitely did. It also came with tofu skin knots in it which was good. Overall good taste but a bit expensive and it's weird we were able to make our way through so many dishes. Could probably do with slightly larger servings.

I think certain menu items are good but not all. For example I enjoy the jjajangmyun and would come here to order that dish alone. Mapo tofu on the other hand, not gonna happen. So if you have been there enough times to figure out what you want, then it works

I really enjoyed this Shanghainese restaurant. Every dish was perfectly cooked to the right texture. Nothing was overly salty or greasy. All flavors brought me back to Hong Kong Shanghainese flavor. I also enjoyed their private rooms for our party of 6.

would give 3.5/5. my favorite dish was probably the black bean noodles. it was well cooked and the sauce had good flavor. most of the other dishes were very salty and oily and it was hard to taste the actual food. the drunken chicken was pretty moist and tender though! service was okay considering they weren't very busy.

The bamboo shoots dish tasted rotten. Others were pretty typical Shanghai cuisine.

Food This is my family's go-to jjajangmyn place in Bellevue. We love eating here because the food and kimchi are so good. Our regular order is jjajangmyun, jjambbong, and tansuyuk (Sweet & Sour Pork) with sauce on the side. Value The value is pretty good, especially for lunch. We always order off the Korean menu, but the jjajangmyun is always bigger than I can eat myself. The jjajangmyun is pretty decent for the price. The sides look expensive, but it's worth it if you're sharing with the group. Service I've come here for several years and always has great service. The waiters/waitresses can take Korean orders and check in once in a while to refresh the tea or kimchi. They also can accommodate most requests, like removing eggs or getting sauce on the side (for some dishes) Setting The restaurant is really clean and pretty well spread out. There are two sections of the restaurant that can accommodate larger and smaller groups. The larger group area features circular tables with a rotating platform and the smaller area features tables that seat 4-5 people. Other Haven't tried takeout, but dine in always offers a good experience.

    Menu

Food is very SALTY! We ordered a total of 6 different dishes, would recommend the double cooked fish. Beside the fish, tofu and spring rolls, Lion Head (pork meatballs), stir fry noodles, and the duck were overly salty. I appreciate the service is very attentive so we can just enjoy our food actually.. lol Sharing the tofu dish picture because you'll expect the fried style tofu when you read the menu.

3 star for food, 4 star for service. I come here alone for early dinner, ask recommendation. Servicer are not bad, they help me order food in my budget. I got spring roll just processed and taste good. And the noodle is chewy and nice. Other food are not impressive.

I don't need a chef wildly experimenting with my siu mai, or dabbling with my baked hom bow. My analysis of Sun Sui Wah, very nice interior, ok service, solid food. Was it a few dollars more than similar fare in Seattle, yes. But I also didn't have to drive to Seattle, not to mention put up with the street spectacle that now exists in the International District. Service : nonexistent Food: 9/10…read morePrice: standard but not worth for the horrible service. We spent about $600 for a party of 9. Would rather go to Diamond Bay, Tasty Szechuan, Royal Kitchen, (can see why they're busy and packed on a holiday weekday night and Sun Sui Wah is not) Went here for dinner for my grandma's 89th birthday with a party of 9 at 7pm. We ordered dishes typical of a 10 course meal including crab, Peking duck, live fish, rice, noodles, veggies, seafood, etc. The food was really good and didn't take too long to come out. Everything tasted good and we were all enjoying the family meal together and that's why I am giving 1 star because we will not be coming back. The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

CHECK your bill here!!!!!!!!…read more We took our daughters from out of town for Sunday dim sum. Longtime family tradition!! And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!
