Mila = Xiao Chi Jie This place is located in a food court and that makes it a very easy dining experience. You'll need to order from a kiosk and you'll get a text message when your food is ready. Everything is packed in take out containers. This place doesn't look much but man oh man! Their sheng jian baos are outta this world! I've never had anything like it and am still dreaming about it's texture, consistency and it's delicious taste! The juiciness is what sold me. Definitely the best sheng jian baos ever! Don't be like me and bite into the dough and ended up squirting majority of the soup juices out and ended creating a giant mess on the table. Thank god the juices didn't end up on my clothes. Xiao Chi Jie's highlight is suppose to their xiao long baos but I find that the skin of the dumpling isn't as thin as I like it to be. Also, I don't think their soup dumpling is as juicy as I want it to be. This is completely my honest opinion. They also sell their frozen soup dumplings at Costco with the brand Mila. I also tried their jian bing (chinese crepe). It's good as long as you it eat fresh, before it gets soggy. Their dan dan noodle's flavoring is pretty good. This is something worth ordering. I think it's way better than Ding Tai Fung and Dough Zone's version. Their parking lot allows 2 hours of free parking.

Even though I often will order my XCJ (Mila) dumplings to make at home, I still love visiting XCJ tofor dine in or take out. For this visit, I ordered the Pho Beef XLB, which I've been wanting to try ever since Mila first offered it as a special order item. So when I saw I could order Pho XLB from the XCJ menu, I couldn't wait to drive there and order some. My first thought was the soup flavor was delicious - all the right spices exactly like a good Pho. The beef tasted great as well. My only thought was in my dumplings the meat was a little bit broken up -not as together as the pork filling in their standard pork XLB & I think I would have liked the filling better if it the meat was together more like a Pho meat ball. The Jian Bing was a great accompaniment.

I stopped by here for lunch yesterday afternoon as I've been meaning to try Xiao Chi Jie for a long LONG while now. They're known for selling Chinese street foods, and they also sold one of my favourite dishes, the Jianbing! There isn't much service to go through since it's all through a screen where you select the items yourself. It was simple though, and food came out surprisingly quick after. I ordered two items: the Jianbing and their pan fried soup dumplings. For the Jianbing I will have to be honest, it was very bland compared to other ones I've had before. I admit I didn't add any meats or other toppings as I wanted to have the original taste, but there wasn't much taste to begin with. I've had traditional jianbings in other places and they had much more flavour than this one. If I try XCJ's Jianbing again I'd have to add more to see if it's better. Their Pan Fried Soup Dumplings was pretty good though. I love soup dumplings, and got a huge surprise (I got soup all over my shirt) by the amount of soup that was juicing inside the dumpling. Regardless the soup was tasty and so was the pork inside! Some of these other places that sell soup dumplings never put enough soup inside, but XCJ was on top of it for this item. Not much to say about ambiance as it was located in a small food court below the high rise. They also have parking below too and I believe they validate parking. I plan to come back again soon since there are other items I would like to try out from them, it's worth giving this place a chance.

We came here for a quick bite, but it took a surprisingly long time for the food to come out. Since this isn't an actual restaurant (you submit your order at the kiosk and wait to receive it at the counter), I would have expected it to come out faster. We ordered the jian bing with spam, shen jian bao with pork, and xiao long bao with pork (not pictured). The shen jian bao was super juicy, like it exploded everywhere when we took a bite xD and I liked it almost as much as my mom's! The xiao long bao was not the best, but I totally get that because they're frozen and sell them frozen by the bag. I regret getting them -- definitely better to splurge at a real restaurant that makes them fresh. The jian bing was surprisingly good. Spam is probably not the right choice of meat here but I was REALLY craving it! It's crunchy, chewy, and very juicy too! One comment is that the cucumber side is NOT worth it. It was like $4 and it comes in a tiny cup. You can definitely make it yourself with some garlic and sesame oil.

Xiao Chi Jie is a bit hard to find, especially if you're coming from the North side of the building. It took us a bit of walking to locate since we first thought it was on the second floor, but instead It's in the little food court-like area on street level. Since it's basically a food court (but with only one other restaurant), there's plenty of seating. Ordering is simple on a touch screen kiosk and the food comes out fast. They have utensils and little cups of vinegar and chili oil that you can pick up from a station on the counter. There's no soy sauce for some reason. Jianbing, Traditional ($8.99) - I can't say that I eat jianbing too much but I thought this one was decent. Thin eggy crepe, with a crispy bao cui and youtiao inside, with a bit of hoisin to add saltiness and sweetness. It's wrapped in aluminum foil and a paper sleeve, so it's very portable. (3/5) 10pc Xiao Long Bao, Pork ($11.99) - These seem to be frozen factory made XLBs, with thick skin, dry dough, and a tough texture. The faux pleats on top are also a giveaway. I guess these are the same ones they sell online and all they do is steam them and serve. When we got the XLBs, they had already cooled down a bit, resulting in most of the aspic re-gelatinizing and creating a pretty dry dumpling (e.g. not much soup to sip on). Flavor-wise, the filling is good - porky and aromatic from ginger and scallion. It's just the exterior that is weak. Good for a frozen XLB, but not restaurant quality. I wouldn't order this again. (3/5) 5pc Sheng Jian Bao, Pork ($12.99) - The SJBs, on the other hand, are served piping hot, with the interior aspic completely liquefied, almost like lava. The amount of soup inside is pretty good - you can get around two spoonfuls of liquid to sip on before chomping into the rest of the bao. The interior has a fantastic porkiness and quite a bit of umami - I feel like they might put mushroom powder or something inside to amp things up. Based on the texture and shape, these seem to be hand made, with perhaps a bit too much dough on the twisted end and a thin top that almost falls apart. It's garnished with black sesame and chopped scallion. I've had better SJBs, but these aren't bad at all. (4/5) Bathrooms - Larger ones up the stairs Xiao Chi Jie is honestly just kind of mediocre. The food is fine - it fills your stomach and tastes good enough, but I don't see myself visiting again. Overall rating of the food this visit: 3.33/5

Pregnancy Craving for Shanghainese comfort food-pan fried dumplings and this hits the spot! I also tried the milk tea and pho xiao long bao. Both super yummy!!

One of my favorite spots in Bellevue to grab some quick food solo or with some friends. There's some street parking and they also have a parking garage (I haven't parked in the garage so I'm not sure how much it costs or if they validate?). Sheng Jian bao ($14.48): juicy, juicy, juicyyyyy. You gotta develop some kind of procedure to eat these without squirting yourself or your neighbors with hot soup. My steps include biting the top off to let the steam escape, sipping some soup, halving the meat inside to let the steam out of that, pour some chili oil and vinegar in the middle, then trying your best to take a bite without messing up the whole thing. I was 4 for 5 this time. Solid score! Garlic cucumber ($1.49): I needed some kind of cool refreshing side for these hot baos. This is my favorite side for them! Crunchy, garlicky, cold. Although I wish I got more for the extra amount paid. Not quite enough for me.

I've been here a few times before and only get the Sheng Jian Bao now because it's too good to pass up on. The service is generally pretty quick, and it's very casual dining, which I think is perfect to get these delicious dumplings and devour them. The dumplings are a little pricey, but there are five of them and they're bigger than xiao long baos. Be careful when you take your first bite because there is hot soup inside each of the dumplings. It's possible to actually spray yourself with the hot soup if you're not careful (and also very possible if you are careful). I like to take a tiny bite of the dumpling, drink some of the soup to see how hot it is, and then slowly eat the rest of the dumpling.

Xiao Chi Jie is in a pretty small food court on the outskirts of downtown Bellevue. It was pretty empty when I went on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered their soup dumplings, their pan fried baos, and Dan Dan noodles. Their soup dumplings were pretty good, pretty sure they just reheat the frozen mila dumplings, but delicious all the same. Weird thing is they only provide vinegar and chili oil, no soy sauce. The pan fried baos were okay, the dough was dense but thin (I prefer soft and fluffy). The soup and filling were good and flavorful though. Be careful when eating these! The soup will shoot out everywhere lol. Dan Dan noodles were okay as well. Spicy and good flavor, but the noodles had a weird texture... kinda like they were stale? Overall, would only come again for the soup dumplings. Everything else is just okay at best.

I've been meaning to try XCJ (aka Mila) for a while and wanted to see if it's worth ordering their items frozen. Parking was a little difficult as it's mostly downtown street parking. I've seen some reviews state there's parking in the Soma garage but then there's also been lots of fines given out. Inside the food court is XCJ and a poke place - there's lot of seating as there's only two restaurants. You order from XCJ on their two iPads and the dishes are made right after so it can be a while. Sheng jian bao (pan fried pork dumplings): the bao's are crunchy on the outside and full of soup on the inside. I don't think I've ever had so much soup inside a bao. The soup was meaty and delicious which was nice. The only downside was the the pork inside was rubbery so there was a weird texture when eating the bao. Zhajiang noodle (sweet and savory noodles): The noodles were of good quality but the dish as a whole was way too sweet. It was off putting and I couldn't finish it. Overall, just an okay spot.

Rating: 3.5/5. I stopped by this place for a quick dinner with a friend. It is inside a food court shared with 2 other businesses, and is on the bottom floor of a high rise. Ambience: no-frills take out spot, seating is not a problem as there are multiple indoor and outdoor tables. Noise level is moderate chatter. Food: I tried the lu rou fan (braised pork belly rice bowl) and the xiao long bao (soup dumpling). Both of them are fairly standard and what you would expect. The price is very reasonable, fairly cheap compared to other downtown restaurants. Parking: there is free parking in the garage of the building for up to 1 hour, and free stree parking nearby.

The pan fried buns are pretty tasty and juicy. But I really miss the egg pocket they used to serve. Not a fan of the current jianbing at all

We went on a Wednesday around 6:30pm and had no wait to get seated. The restaurant has parking that is shared with many other vendors along a line, and I can definitely foresee parking becoming a issue during busy hours as there aren't a ton of parking spots - just to note during peak business hours. We were the only diners during our visit, so service was focused entire on us - I personally felt that the service could have been better as the waitress made us feel a bit rushed when ordering. The ambiance is casual dine in, with Chinese inspired decor. The lighting was a little bit off as it was pretty dim with a fluorescent color - unfortunately felt a bit like they were at closing time with the ambiance vibes. We ordered three dishes, which I'll review down below: Lions Head Meatballs ($25): I've had lion's head meatballs at another Chinese establishment on Eastside, and these are decent meatballs in comparison for very slightly cheaper. Tender and nice light flavor, it is nice that they are supplemented with bok choy as they are quite hearty. Salted Egg and Shrimp Tofu ($20): I think this was my favorite dish out of the three. Better quantity and the salted egg gives a nice creamy and subtle savory flavor, and goes nicely with rice. Tofu is cooked well, and there is a small scattering of shrimp throughout the plate. Shanghai Style Braised Kaofu ($15): A cold Shanghai kaofu is a classic dish that I've tried many times, and I think a restaurant should serve if they are Shanghainese. The kaofu has nice flavor - not too sweet and not too salty with a pleasing spongey texture. I only wished that the quantity was bigger for $15 - the spoon for scale really gives the impression of how large the plate was, and underneath the initial layer of kaofu you see in the picture, there unfortunately wasn't any more, just other components like bamboo shoots and woodear. Though most of the dishes had good flavor, the pricing was steep considering the amount of food you get for the price you pay. I left still feeling a bit hungry as Shanghai dishes are usually lighter and don't fill you up as much. Though there aren't too many other Shanghai restaurants to compare to on Eastside, I'll probably put Shanghai House at like a 3.5/5 in all things considered.

No one else seems to do them the same way. Noodle Nine doesn't serve dan dan noodles BUT the dipping sauce for the scallion pancake is the same as what Tian Tian used in their noodles! I absolutely used it as a dipping sauce. The scallion pancake was great- SUPER crispy. Cucumber salad was really good but aggressively garlicky. Actually spicy from just raw garlic alone. Beef noodle soup was delicious- we added a fried egg (I would skip it next time) and extra noodles on the side.

My parents and I were lucky enough to grab the last table, and we ordered 4 items: the dry noodle with scallion oil and braised pork chop, the secret dumplings, large wonton, and salty soy milk (dumplings and wonton aren't pictured). I was most curious and most disappointed by the scallion noodle and pork chop. The portion size seemed too small to justify its price point, and I felt the pork chop tasted dry. The noodles however, had a great flavor, so if I were to try the place again, I'd only go for the scallion oil noodles. The dumplings were amazing. They were a little pricey but worth the cost, and worth the restaurant name. The dumplings were larger than most dumpling places I've been to, and the meat and soup inside were super flavorful. The wontons were also good, though it can't beat the pan fried dumplings. The salty soy milk was a very unique experience- it was thicker, rich and flavorful than other salty soy milk soups that I'm used to. It almost has an umami, seafood-ish taste to it. Though I'm not a big fan of soy milk, I enjoyed this dish more than expected! After our meal, we got to choose some magnets to take home, which was a creative and sweet gift. For the overall price point, I don't think I'd be coming here regularly for a meal. I may drop by for choice items like the pan fried dumplings!

There is plenty of parking and you just have to walk in and order with a QR code and then pay at the front when you're done. I didn't try their noodles as they seemed a bit expensive. I would return for the tea egg and wontons!
