    Biang biang noodles spread
    Vinh M.

I've overlooked this place even after driving to Bellevue for food for some time, even going as far as hitting up Shinya Shokudo right next to here. Kinda sad I didn't have here earlier since their food's hitting, especially their spicy cumin beef Biang Biang bowl! I came with a friend here around 6pm to a simple interior that almost reminded me of some of the Peking duck shops around the Chinatown International District. You can see the counter even from the back, and there's tables and booths for various parties to sit at. There was probably only one or two servers for the whole place; it did take a while to get utensils and refills on water but that didn't affect my experience here. You scan a QR code to get the menu, and place your orders and pay through there. I got their Biang Biang noodles with spicy cumin beef, along with a side of beef rolls to share with my friend. He also got Biang Biang noodles but with pork belly instead. To start off, they don't skimp on the spice here; even the noodles themselves were layered with red chili peppers, not that that was an issue for me since I love my spice and haven't had food this spicy in a long time! Noodles were slightly softer than al dente (a term for noodles that are firm but not on the verge of being hard; basically the perfect texture for noodles) and paired very well with all the spice inside. The cumin beef was so balanced and tasty in flavor and the spice added even more of a kick to the bowl. The spice includes the onions, red chili peppers as mentioned, a bunch of jalapeños with the seeds all around and the spicy cumin beef itself. My friend's version with pork belly was still really spicy though the pork belly was a slight relief from that. Portions here are quite big even though we both got the small bowl; there is a large one available. The beef rolls were all right; it comes with (non-spicy) cumin beef and some sweet bean paste wrapped in slightly crispy bread. The sweet and savory mix here actually works, and this is coming from someone who has expressed some displeasure in those two mouthfeels mixing before. Their noodles remind me so much of Biang Biang in Cap Hill, so it's actually hard to compare the two besides the different cities both are based in. I'm just happy to have more than one place to enjoy hand-cut noodles, and can't wait to make another trip here to try their other stuff!

Amazing spot to get authentic Chinese food! Friendly staff, lots of inside items! I loved the beef roll and the Biang Biang noodles the most! I highly recommend and would come back!

I have walked by this restaurant many times, but they never piqued my interest because they are always empty! I decided to look up their menu and turns out they sell Xi'an dishes. Their menu is comparable, if not bigger than Taste of Xi'an, Xi'an Noodles, and Fang Tang Noodles. Their prices appear to be more reasonable, too. Their dishes are traditionally prepared meaning most of the meat centric dishes are bone-in, FYI. There are many unusual dishes, and I love being adventurous. Their service is a shy tentative. They react to my beaconing but otherwise did not approach. Their interior is simple; it wasn't off-putting by any means. During our time inside, only Chinese people came to eat. All Chinese. (Yes, I can tell.) This must be authentic food! This restaurant doesn't do any social media as far as I can tell. If you click on their website link, old images of sushi will show up. Continue with "Order Online" and you can see their menu. Smashed Spicy Eggplant, $15.99 - 4.5 Stars I didn't know what to expect for "smashed" eggplant dish (maybe like baba ganoush), but I certainly did not expect a pestle and mortar on my table. We skipped the smashing and ate as is, which was delicious, even if a bit oily. I also liked that this dish is served with century egg at the bottom. Tomato and Egg Biang Biang Noodle, $10.99 - 5 Stars Surprisingly savory, their version is excellent. Better than others I have had. Spicy Cumin Beef Sandwich, $7.99 - 5 Stars By including veggies in the filling, they made the sandwich a more substantial and balanced meal. Flavor is very good. We approve of this modification! Beef Roll, $11.99 - 4.5 Stars The wrapping is a flaky pastry, while the beef filling is thickly sliced and plentiful. Hubby approved. Spicy and Pungent Rice Noodle Clay Pot, $8.99 - 3.5 Stars The nomenclature confused me. That is not a claypot. It is not pungent; it is ma la spicy. I was hoping for stinky tofu type of fermented pungent. Nope. They had ground beef in the broth, which is a turn-off for me (personal preference). Their menu could use a bit more description. Green Onion Pancake, $2.99 - 2.5 Stars This is the least oily green onion pancake I have ever seen. Even though it is nicely layered, it is unfortunately a bit dry. It would be good to dip in sauce, but not to eat by itself.

My friends and I had dinner here on a Monday night. Environment - it is not the fancy reataurant vibe, and it is a little old, but it is clean. It has tables for groups from 2-8 people, and it is pretty quite, so it is good for staying longer and talking. Taste if Xi'an is another place we go for 陕西 food, but that place is in a food court in a grocery store, and it is always noisy, and u often have to share tables with people. It is good for a quick bite but not for long stay and chat. Staff - there is one lady helping us with order and serving food. She is bilingual and friendly. Food - food is served pretty fast. Lamb soup with glass noodle is yummy, and broth is so good. I wanted to ask for a refill on the broth but i did not haha. 肉夹馍 is not quite like the one i had in China. The meet will taste better if it has a little more fat. My friend said that she prefers the 凉皮 from taste of Xi'an. Overall, it is a good dining experience, and I would come back to this place.

I love this place but last experience is a little bit disappointed because they did not have air conditioning during hottest days in summer, and their main dishes are normally quite hot. But their food and service are great! Authentic Xian food. The 水盆羊肉 tastes great!

We have been to this place many times over the last few years but this is still my first review for it. They specialize in cuisine from northwestern region of China with lots of flour based dishes so if you are looking for low carb food this isn't the place for you. Our favorite is the Big Platter Chicken, which is shown below. We've always ordered this dish whenever we dine here. The portion is huge so don't expect that you will be able to finish it. Just enjoy what you can and pack the rest to go.

It's a pity the average review score has been brought down by the previous owners, because this place is a gem. A female owned family business, Miah's Kitchen puts heart, tradition and incredible flavor in all its dishes. It's tough to pick highlights, but since I got a photo of this luscious smashed spicy eggplant dish, I'll share that it was delicious. The handmade Biangbiang noodles are not to be missed, with that chewy texture that only comes from making the noodles by hand. Pro tip: Sunday mornings offer breakfast, which is not found through the restaurant website. I know from the owner it is a labor of love, keeping her up late the night before and early every Sunday to serve this special meal, and my friends have raved about it. I was in briefly from out of town but am eager to try it the next time I'm in town. If you're looking for authentic, traditional Chinese cuisine, and you're lucky to be in reach of Miah's Kitchen, this place is a must!

Hot chili oil biang biang noodle

One of the few biang biang noodle places on the east side. The restaurant was really spacious and clean, they had hand sanitizer by the door and all workers were masked. We ordered the hot oil biang biang noodles, cumin beef biang biang noodles, and the shredded potato appetizer. The shredded potato appetizer was 5/5. Perfectly crispy and tingly from the peppercorns. Loved the texture and the balance of flavors. I loved the textures of the biang biang noodles. Probably one of the best textures I've had in the Seattle area. However both noodle dishes were very salty. It seems like the sauce didn't really absorb into the noodles. Same goes for the beef pieces in the cumin beef noodles. If they made the sauce a little less salty it would be a perfect 5/5. Very affordable prices for a big portion (we got both noodles in the smaller size but still had leftover).

I like the food here, fairly priced. I wouldn't call it super authentic XiAn style since they are not spicy enough for me. But I keep coming back for the location and friendly service.

I see the pork, but Where is the black bean sauce? Also cucumbers are half cut.

I came here with my coworkers for lunch, and to be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the food here. The restaurant was like a typical Chinese restaurant, with lots of seating. The service was decent, probably since we had a big group-- our server was pretty attentive to our group of 8. The food came out relatively fast too. Maybe it's because I don't know what Xian food is, but I ordered the Zha Jiang Mian (炸酱面), or fried sauce noodles, and it was just not what I expected. I was expecting some noodles with fried pork and black bean sauce, with sliced veggies (usually cucumbers) on the side. What I got was a different story. The noodles I got looked like they had fried pork but they forgot the black bean sauce. Like it was just cooked ground pork on top of noodles. Okay, I guess that's fine. The cucumbers look like they were supposed to be sliced, but didn't get sliced all the way. That's fine too, because I thought looks doesn't matter as long as it tastes good. The noodles themselves were actually pretty good-- they were wide, chewy, and had good consistency. However, the part that really breaks this meal for me was how the noodles were DRENCHED IN OIL. there was at least a few tablespoons of straight up oil at the bottom of my bowl, which I really didn't like. Even when I tried to mix the noodles with the pork and the oil, the oil was very overpowering. The ground pork was kind of tasteless, so the ENTIRE DISH JUST TASTED LIKE THE OIL, and even the noodles and cucumbers were not able to salvage it. I was only able to finish half the bowl before the grease started to make me feel sick. I definitely would not recommend this dish, so if you come here, order something else! They have a lot of other food to choose from. I personally probably would not be back.

Miah's Kitchen has a humble, family restaurant vibe. The food is mostly from the style of northwestern Chinese cuisine, which I like because it reminds me of my parents' home and is different from the typical Sichuan cuisine you tend to see. If you come in a group, I recommend getting the big platter chicken because it is full of flavor and you get so much that you can share. I also recommend the biang biang noodles, rou jia mo, liang pi, or yang rou pao mo.

    Stewed Chicken with Rice

We came here for dinner and I enjoyed my meal. Located in the Bel-Red area in a shopping center, it's an understated Chinese restaurant. On a weekday evening, the place was not at all busy. There were only two other parties, and it seemed like most of the business were those getting take-out. I ordered the Lamb Noodle Soup and my boyfriend had the Stewed Chicken with Rice. It didn't take long for our food to arrive, and for mine, the portion was large. Although my boyfriend did not like his dish, I have to say, I really liked the Lamb Noodle Soup and was what I was hoping it would be. The handpulled noodles were good, with a perfectly cooked texture and there were plenty of slices of lamb with. Of the entire dish, my favorite part was the lamb broth. It was very flavorful, a little creamy, and fulfilled my craving for soup. I would happily order this soup again! My boyfriend thought his Stewed Chicken didn't have enough actual chicken pieces, since most of it was fat, so would not recommend it. Overall, Miah's Kitchen provides an option on the eastside for hand-pulled noodles and other Chinese favorites. I'm glad to have found a spot, just for that Lamb Noodle Soup.

Not sure what the English names are... Left: beef pancake. Right: cold sesame noodles.

The chicken is incredibly tender and there are some nice fatty pieces in there that add a lot of richness and flavor. Exactly what you want from a proper Hainan chicken. It comes with two sauces and both are delicious. I personally felt like it was missing a soy sauce component, but then again the ginger sauce does a great job of tying everything together so I get why they went that route. Small thing overall. I did takeout and the whole process was quick and painless. The soup that came with it was really flavorful and had just the right amount of salted elements to help cut through the richness of the chicken. A nice touch that rounded out the meal. One thing worth mentioning is that I noticed it was available on DoorDash for a bit cheaper, so if you are ordering in, that might be the move. But if you are picking up in person the experience is smooth either way. Will definitely be ordering from here again. Very solid, especially coming from an LA Native

From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.

At 11:45am on a Saturday, my group of three had no problem getting a table. Their menu is extensive and has all the Korean food classics including seafood pancake, soondubu (stone pot tofu soup), galbi jjim (beef stew), Toppokki, bibimbap, and cold noodles (spicy and non-spicy versions). Their entrees are around $20 each, but some larger hot pot dishes (meant for 2-3 people) can be up to $70. I ordered the BULGOGI BIBIMBAP (~$24). Unfortunately they don't serve stone pot Bibimbap here, but the portions are large and beautifully presented. My dish came with plenty of fresh vegetables- pickled carrots and cucumbers, sesame bean sprouts, daikon kimchi, lettuce, and marinated black mushrooms (which I've never had in Bibimbap before but was soooo good) on top a bed of fluffy white rice! The egg was cooked perfectly over easy and the meat was marinated well too- I do wish the dish came with more meat though. They give you your typical sweet and spicy gochujang red sauce on the side as well as white vinegar and mustard sauce for added flavor. Service was fantastic and you get complimentary hot tea and ban chan (which are refillable). The ban chan included cucumber kimchi, daikon kimchi, sesame bean sprouts, kimchi, fish cake, and sesame choy. All employees were very friendly and made you feel at home. The inside is clean, but the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is that they have an Okay health rating and not a Good or Excellent health rating. Lee's Kitchen is located in a business strip close to Microsoft, walking distance from the Overlake Station. There are plenty of places to eat around here and you should eat at those places if you're on a lunch break and need to get back to work because Lee's Kitchen is really on their own schedule. No shits given. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon around lunch time and were the only ones dining in for most of the time we were here. Most of the tables had not been cleared, so they must've had a rush of people before we visited. There's a QR code at the table where you can order and pay for your food. I ordered the braised pork belly with rice and shared the rice noodle roll with shrimp and beef with my friend. He ordered the wonton noodle soup, which took over an hour to get. My meal came out first and then eventually the rice noodle roll dish came. And then half an hour later after sitting there, the server comes by and tells my friend they ran out of bamboo noodles, which is what he requested for his dish. Over half an hour later, he received his food. Was it worth the wait? No. Sadly, I can't recommend Lee's Kitchen especially with how many more fantastic Chinese restaurants there are nearby. Service is lackluster with food that does not impress or would have me visit again. Not for me and it shouldn't be for anyone on a schedule.

Updating my previous review. Fang's has a remodeled interior that is sleeker, colder, less…read morefriendly, less funky, and less playful than it was when it opened. The colorful wall murals are gone. The bowls used to serve noodle dishes are now HUGE and DEEP, leading some to say portion sizes are not generous. That is not correct. They are plentiful. You're just getting your noodles in a gargantuan bowl. Service is acceptable, but just barely. It's often negligent. I ended up getting up to get my own new set of chopsticks when I had an issue with mine and some extra napkins because the server was too focused on playing with the TV stations (which they were two or three times while we were there). You order from a QR code and pay in advance--including tip--now. The food is still very good. Noodles are great. They've also gotten creative and gone a bit overboard there with the addition of colored noodles, which I did not try. Dumplings have gone creative too. The flavors are very good, and the dumplings are well made. The colors for the dumplings make a bit more sense than for the noodles, but I still find the whole idea a little much. Still solid noodle dishes. Maybe a tiny bit less balanced and authentic than when they opened, but the noodles are well made. Flavors are good. Will definitely return, but I just hope they don't eventually lose their way by trying to be different and trendy instead of reliable and fun.

Our first visit to Fang's and I can see some of the themes others have mentioned. The quality of…read morethe noodles and the ample fillings in the Xiaolongbao are the standout stars of this establishment, 5+. However, I can only assume that most patrons are assumed to be regulars so the basics of welcoming you in and explaining menu and ordering protocols require getting the attention of the server. As it was our first time visiting, the menu off of the QR code was confusing as noodle options show at the top "let's meet our noodles" with $0, followed by menu items with prices. All can be selected and added to your cart however we found out later that they are only there to show you noodle options for the dishes below. There is ample seating, however the bathroom is gender neutral and could do with a deep cleaning and a sign that asks people to put the seat down after use. Perhaps take-out next time. Including photos of just a couple of the dishes we ordered...
