The place was packed when we got there but they managed to seat us. They had some complimentary soup for us. Also I loved one of the servers, I think maybe Min. She was so sweet and was telling us the history of Taiwan. The food was pretty good too. We'll definitely come back.

I'm so glad to find this restaurant again in the Eastside! I used to come to its older location, Eastern Pearl, before it moved to Bellevue, and I loved the dim sum and breakfast items. I visited this restaurant last Wednesday, and was impressed by the great service despite coming in an hour before closing. There was plenty of seating, and a complimentary bowl of lotus soup was served before ordering our dishes. My family and I ordered 5 dishes (pan fried buns not pictured). All the dish portions are family size, and tasted like home. I was most impressed by the spicy chicken dish. It wasn't spicy, but the chicken is super tender while also having a nice, crispy breading. The sauce was amazing, kind of like a sweet, garlic with a light soy sauce flavor. I felt like I could keep eating the food even after feeling full! I also loved the silverware/plating! The dishes are like large flower petals, and the individual plates and utensils are minimalist. The dishes are a little pricier than I like, but worth the great food and service. I'll be coming back again!

We visited on Friday evening, with three adults and one child, and it was a very nice experience. We arrive and were seated right away, the place was almost completely full. Water was brought quickly, in a tea pot, but it took a bit to get a waiter for other drinks. We started with appetizers; Pot Stickers, Meat Dumplings, Scallion Pancake, Guo Gee, and Pan Fried Buns. They were all tasty and well prepared. From there we had Hakka Spicy Crispy Chicken, Hakka Beef, and Crispy Duck, along with white rice. Everything was excellent. The service was good, but sporadic. The bussers kept the tables cleared of dishes, but there were times when we had to wave down waiters to check on drinks and delayed items. Overall, excellent place for Chinese fare.

Very happy they're back in town - I went on their closing day when they were still in Bellevue a couple years ago. Food is still as good as it was, the lunch sets are good value and I loved the Beef Chow Fun, the free soup that came with it, and the Beef Noodle Soup. I also got the stuffed tofu on a sizzling plate and my friends loved the onions on that dish. Service is typical of that of a Chinese restaurant but they are efficient and attentive. Food tastes very authentic and I have never ordered something I didn't like from there. The Dim Sum tastes very fresh and would recommend trying some of the dim sum. Vibe feels very authentic and almost like you're back in Asia. They have youtiao on the weekends with soy milk! Will be a regular here, have already gone multiple times since opening!

My family decided to come here because they heard this place just opened a while ago and it's good. It wasn't as busy when we got there. Sitter pretty quickly. Idk why, they put one person in charge of pushing cart that is below average of slow. Where there are a few servers that are free to assist lol. That dim sum cart lady took a while to do a 360 loops. The staff are friendly. But just a little bit on the slower side. Overall, portion control can be a little bigger on some entrees. Dim sum portion are fair. This place didn't wow me for their dim sum. Maybe another time.

Happy to discover this new gem! If you are walking to the restaurant, there isn't any signage visible on the street at the moment (the establishment's name is above the sidewalk awning) but it's next to Palmer's and has an adorable wooden door. We were seated quickly, which felt lucky considering there were parties at nearly every table. Service was fast, and possibly a little disjointed as three separate people asked if we wanted water as they walked by. Cannot find any fault in their attention to customers! The owner stopped by a few times while we ate, too, to check on us. He is super friendly, and obviously loves his restaurant and what he is doing. I think nearly every table had an order of their stuffed tofu, and for good reason. It's delicious! Order a bowl of rice to eat with it- I like the practice of setting saucy food on the rice and letting it season the bowl, the sauce is too good to waste on a bare plate. (My sister lived in Hong Kong for a few years and was very impressed with my photo of this dish- I think her exact words were "Yeung tofu?! That's hard core." It's not often you find Chinese food this authentic here, as the owner was proud to point out.) Our second dish was the Hawaiian noodle cake with crispy guo gee. The noodles were thin wheat noodles that had been cooked before being set in a hot pan to crisp the bottom. I really loved the mixture of crispy and soft, it's not a dish I had heard of before. The noodles were topped with chicken, pork, shrimp, five-spice BBQ pork, and broccoli in a brown sauce. The guo gee were square wonton wrappers filled with seasoned pork and deep fried. Delicious meal, and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu! Their weekend dim sum looks like a yummy thing to look forward to.

Great service and loved the Taiwanese beef noodle soup! The soup had lots of flavor and the noodles had a nice bounce to them. It was a large bowl and very filling. The lunch specials look like they come with many smaller side dishes as well. There is plenty of seating and on a weekday for lunch we were seated right away. As soon as we sat down, we were served a small bowl of complimentary lotus root soup and brought hot water/tea.

Love this restaurant the owner and his staff are so nice. Food is delicious as well. We ordered 3 new dishes tonight, steamed beef tripe, hakka pork burger, and Hakka salt & pepper pork knuckle. All 3 dishes were very tasty. Will definitely be back to try more dishes

Glad to finally try this place now that it's reopened! The dish to get here is the house special cake noodle with guo gee. Sooooo good! And the portions are very generous for the price. Will definitely order takeout here again!

I seek out places that offer Hawaiian style cake noodle with crispy guo gee so I was so happy to hear that Hakka House opened in Redmond! It was indeed super ono (delicious). We also ordered the salt and pepper knuckles which was tasty but I wish they offered their salt and pepper pork during dinner service (they offer it for lunch) Service was friendly, fast and very attentive.

My quest for excellent Chinese food is finally complete. My takeaway order was everything I hoped for. Friendly fast service at the door. After a brief 20 min drive the food was still hot, flavorful, and crispy. Honestly everything was delicious. Not one bad dish of the bunch - but tops was the sizzling black pepper beef ribs. Kalbi rib style. The beef was tender and perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of pepper. My only regret was not dining in. The place was buzzing on a Thursday night. Hakka House is my new regular. Call to order. No online ordering yet.

Lunch special - crispy chicken with rice and veggie sides

Coming to Hakka House feels like visiting an old friend or relative that cooks comforting home cooked meals. The owner, Charlie personally welcomes every single patron with a smile even during peak lunch hour, and he makes sure you're situated with steaming pot of tea while you wait for your sumptuous lunch to be prepared fresh straight from the kitchen! The bento style lunch specials great with your choice of entree (I chose the Hakka crispy chicken!) and comes with several yummy sides like tomato egg scramble (so nostalgic of my childhood!), sliced radish/beets, cabbage mix and a heaping scoop of steaming white rice. I also ordered the Abacus Seeds, a taro dish that's not easy to make and hard to find in the States in general so I was excited to find it here! It was yummy with lots of woodear mushroom and snow peas included. Beef horfun was good as well though I would've liked a bit more meat included. I will absolutely be back to try the stuffed tofu and lion head meatballs next!

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

CHECK your bill here!!!!!!!!…read more We took our daughters from out of town for Sunday dim sum. Longtime family tradition!! And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!

I had my all time favorite dish at a Hong Kong café cuisine, gon caau ngau ho (乾炒牛河), aka beef chow fun, along with a childhood favorite drink, iced Horlicks. I liked how everything moved at a quick pace here and yet the staff were still friendly. The best part was that no one stopped by to ask how the food was while your mouth was full, because they already knew the food was good. The beef chow fun was just as good as the ones back home. It was savory and full of wok hei (iykyk). The bean sprouts were added at just the right time, so they were still a slightly crunchy. The sliced beef was tender too. If you like adding extra spice, be sure to try the crunchy chili sauce on the table. It was awesome, fragrant, spicy, and full of flavor. Just be careful not to choke on it, I did, and it wasn't fun. I hadn't had Horlicks in twenty years, and the first sip brought back so many memories. Be sure to stir it well and maybe wait until the ice melts a little, otherwise it may be slightly too sweet. My partner is a vegetarian. He looked through the entire menu and said there weren't many things he could order (listen, people, choose your future SO accordingly if you like sharing big meat dishes). He ended up ordering the curry vegetable rice and added a fried egg. He said the curry was delicious. I tried a bite of it and agreed. I think there may have some coconut milk in it because it was rich and creamy. The rice was a little too dry to my liking. Sitting there and listening to the background music from the Hong Kong TV news, I felt like a kid again.

I also loved the duck and the baked goods including pineapple bun (I usually don't like the custard once but this one was not as gooey as it usually is) and bbq bun - the bread was sooooooo soft.
