Service - 1.5/5. The cashier was not welcoming or helpful at all, but she is just doing her job = get money. Ambience - 1.5/5. No ambience. It's a small, non-welcoming shop. Food - 2.5/5. Don't get your expectations up. Nothing is bad, but nothing is special either. You can probably get the similar level of buns at any dim sum places. Out of all the 4 savory buns and 3 sweet buns, we liked the salted egg custard the best. That one is worth coming back for. Sesame one was our least favorite because it wasn't moist at all and was kinda bitter. Any buns with pork pretty much tasted exactly the same. So just pick one pork and one beef if you want a different flavor. Maho tofu one was not bad, but not great either. They also have cold side dishes (some sort of Chinese veggie dishes, chicken feet, beef) besides these buns, but we didn't try it. Overall, we'd come back if we're in the area and hungry for a quick bite, but otherwise no need to make your way to come here.

The buns are sooo good! The outside dough is soft and fluffy and the savory filling inside is packed with flavor. They also manage to keep the filling super moist inside. The buns are $2.19 each or $19.99 if you buy 20. They are huge and such a great deal. I would pass on the fresh soy milk though, it had a weird taste to it. P.S: As of April 2024, they no longer offer the beef rolls or sweet buns.

We saw this place as we passed by and decided to check them out. They are new and replaced a bakery that was once there. The main focus here is the buns, but they are putting refrigerated food items as well. They had a selection of 12 buns (8 savory and 4 sweet). We got all of them to tried. My favorite out of the savory ones were actually the vegetarian ones as they were more memorable for me but all of them were pretty good. The buns not too thick, the filling is a mixed, some had a lot of fillings while others didn't. The sweet ones were also good. My favorite was definitely the salted egg custard one. Do wish there was more custard but it was yummy. My second favorite was the black sesame one and they definitely filled that one. If you like black sesame, this one is definitely a good one. It is $1.79/bun or 15.99/10 buns. So the price is not bad. Definitely not a sit down area but good for grab and go.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was recommended to try the hot fresh soymilk and I loved it! The baos are very affordable and delicious.

This newly opened place specializes in handmade steamed buns. They offer a wide variety of fillings from sweet taro to savory meat-filled and vegetarian options. It's a great option for a quick snack or meal. Overall, the buns are good - fresh and quite filling. They are running a promo and you can choose 10 buns for $16, which I think is a decent price. I enjoyed the tofu & pork bun the most, but they were all enjoyable. The dough itself is light and fluffy, but the dough to filling ratio is a bit off.

Stopped by for a quick to-go meal. Everything is self serve, which I'm always unsure whether we are doing at this stage of covid. The savory buns tasted simple and straightforward. I needed some spicy fish sauce to jazz things up. The sesame bun was one I was excited for, but it was a disappointment. The filling was gritty rather than smooth and velvety and I wasn't a fan. I asked about drinks and was told they only have beer, which was a let down. As I was checking out, I saw a container with a fried flatbread looking thing and asked what it was. The server said it was a beef roll. I asked if I could order one. She just handed me that one and said it was made fresh. I don't doubt her, but I was wondering why it was just sitting on the counter by itself. The items in the fridge didn't have labels which made it really difficult to pick something from there. If I knew what they were, I could've bought one and given them more business. I asked the server and she just said "different types of pickles" without explaining further.

Came across this newly opened (just for a month) steamed bun shop in Redmond (same plaza as the Malay Hut). I got 10 buns for $15.99 and there were about 12 different types of buns, sweet and savory. The salted lava egg type was very good, just like the ones you can get from dim sum. The buns are more northern style, so none of those dim sum bbq type but they have vegetarian options. They also have cold side dishes, freshly fried Chinese donuts and millets porridge.

    Veggie bao. Sweet dessert bao.

Great price! The baos are delicious. The flavors are reminiscent of traditional home-cooked Taiwanese and Cantonese dishes.

First thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was that the prices are very LA, but before you let that deter you, hear me out: the portion sizes are significantly larger than what you'd get for the same price back home. So in terms of value, you're actually getting a much better deal out here in Redmond. One thing that genuinely caught me off guard; they let me bring my puppy. If you're from LA or the 626, you already know that's basically unheard of. Redmond, Washington is on a whole different level when it comes to being pet friendly, and I loved every second of it. As for the food, it was great overall. The mala wasn't too numbing, which I appreciated, it had just enough kick without overwhelming everything else. The garlic a-choy was perfect, honestly no notes. The braised pork belly was good but I wished it was a touch softer, and I personally felt like my dishes could've used a little more salt or soy sauce, but that's an easy fix and purely personal preference. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.

I got the default wide noodles, but you can pick the thinner round noodles. Came out pretty quickly after ordering. Decent sized bowl, with a variety of beef offal pieces like tripe, tendon, maybe even intestine along with some meat pieces. Also has daikon and bok choy. The soup is slightly spicy and peppery, but not overly so. Nice savory flavor. Price was $20+ with tax and tip. Solid place for a quick bowl of noodles or rice.

But the food was delicious and the broth was great and the price was fine and I would be happy to come back here if I had reason to. (My office...gives me food, so I'm not all that likely to come here on a weekday, unfortunately.) We came as a large party, and the only large party seating they have is on bar stools, which isn't my favorite. But they have plenty of small ones for 2-4 people!

The restaurant serves incredibly traditional Hunan dishes full of classic aromatics and seasoning. Since our group can't handle heavy spice, we requested mild spice level for all our orders, and the kitchen adjusted perfectly. My absolute must-orders: * Stinky tofu: Ultra crispy on the outside, juicy and bursting with savory broth inside with every bite. The texture contrast is unmatched. * Beef siu mai: Super thin wrappers wrapped around generous, tender beef filling. Each bite is packed with meat, no skimping at all. * Steamed sea bass: Incredibly fresh and tender, steamed to perfection with light soy sauce that brings out the fish's natural sweetness. We visited on a busy night and waited a really long time for our food to come out. To make up for the slow service, the staff generously gave us complimentary icy sweet jelly (bingfen), which was refreshing and balanced out all the savory dishes. It was such a thoughtful gesture that softened the wait frustration a lot. Service was friendly once the food arrived, portions are satisfying, and the authentic flavors keep us coming back. Bon is located in the same plaza as H-Mart and so they have a shared parking lot or you could walk over from Redmond Town Center which is just a block away. The inside is surprisingly large with at least twenty tables, which is bigger than most Korean restaurants that I've seen on the Eastside. At 11:45am on a Saturday, my group of three had no problem getting a table. Their menu is extensive and has all the Korean food classics including seafood pancake, soondubu (stone pot tofu soup), galbi jjim (beef stew), Toppokki, bibimbap, and cold noodles (spicy and non-spicy versions). Their entrees are around $20 each, but some larger hot pot dishes (meant for 2-3 people) can be up to $70. I ordered the BULGOGI BIBIMBAP (~$24). Unfortunately they don't serve stone pot Bibimbap here, but the portions are large and beautifully presented. My dish came with plenty of fresh vegetables- pickled carrots and cucumbers, sesame bean sprouts, daikon kimchi, lettuce, and marinated black mushrooms (which I've never had in Bibimbap before but was soooo good) on top a bed of fluffy white rice! The egg was cooked perfectly over easy and the meat was marinated well too- I do wish the dish came with more meat though. They give you your typical sweet and spicy gochujang red sauce on the side as well as white vinegar and mustard sauce for added flavor. Service was fantastic and you get complimentary hot tea and ban chan (which are refillable). The ban chan included cucumber kimchi, daikon kimchi, sesame bean sprouts, kimchi, fish cake, and sesame choy. All employees were very friendly and made you feel at home. The inside is clean, but the only reason I'm giving them 4 stars is that they have an Okay health rating and not a Good or Excellent health rating.
