Definitely a solid three stars. I think the thing that gets me is that restaurants like this one almost requires you to speak cantonese or you get a totally different experience. For example, there is definitely a dish here that's not in the menu but something if you have a good conversation you can get. Service is ok? Understaffed as usual and just lots of tables so when you go when it's busy expect service to be delayed. The food I think is decent. Probably a four stars on food but with everything else balances out at around 3 stars. The ambiance, well I think my watch triggered a noise warning so it's definitely not someplace that is quiet. Be prepared on a busy day to deal with a lot of different conversations and food coming in all different orders. I think we had food come in massive batches.

Really yummy dim sum!! We came at a busy time but were able to get seated promptly and got our food quickly once ordered. Every dim sum dish was pretty good and it was nice and hot. I would recommend if you're looking to try dim sum.

Seriously, I don't know what is up with the reviews on Yelp and Google for this restaurant. The food quality is great. We come here after Thanksgiving for a dim sum breakfast. Have never been disappointed in the service, food quality, or the menu selections.

steamed whole black sea bass. LOVED IT!

Excellent Cantonese dinner here in the 'Irvine of Seattle'. Bok Choy with oyster mushroom was lightly seasoned and sautéed, very delicious. Seafood tofu clay pot was also a winner, with higher seafood-to-tofu ratio than other restaurants. The steamed whole fish (black sea bass), lightly sauced and perfectly flakey, was our favorite. Can't speak for other low ratings, you just need to know what to order. Our dishes were light in sauce but BIG in flavors.

Delicious! Order on Christmas the sweet & sour spare ribs, pork & shrimp fried rice, and spring rolls. Food was ready in about 15 minutes for pickup. When I arrived, the place was very busy but I was greeted with a warm welcome and my order was ready.

salt and black pepper calamari - barely had seasoning. flavorless.

The service here was extremely disappointing. The servers were rude and unprofessional from the start, no greeting, just handed us a paper to mark down our order. And I specifically asked for no pork, yet the shrimp rolls still had bits of pork in them, which was very frustrating and felt careless. The food itself was just okay and the atmosphere didn't feel very clean and overall everything was below average. To make things worse, it took about 10 minutes before anyone came over when we were ready to check out, only to find out we had to pay at the front (something no one mentioned). Definitely not a place I'd return to.

Yummy Cantonese food at a great price. Flavors were a little salty but good. Had some dim sum too and that was good. The service was really friendly, especially for Chinese restaurant, the server was so friendly to our kids and reminded us they had free green bean dessert. The atmosphere is basic but nice for Chinese spot. Restaurant is a chain from Vancouver so has good reputation.

When you can speak the language, you're treated like royalty. But be patient if English is your preferred language - the staff tries hard to answer your questions. The food is awesome though

Really fast service, 15-20 min for our 5 takeout dishes. Nice lady at the front. A little skimpy on the protein on some of the dishes, but also big portions and cheaper than some other places. Flavors on point, although could be a touch more flavorful for some dishes.

The food is consistent, the service is efficient. Ambiance is like every Chinese restaurant, not fancy but comfortable.

When is dim sum available? Weekends only? All week?

I know it's been a couple years since this question was posted, but they have a limited dimsum menu in the after hours. Mainly steamable items like shumai, chicken feet, lobak goh. Other than that, they have dimsum available every day.

I don't need a chef wildly experimenting with my siu mai, or dabbling with my baked hom bow. My analysis of Sun Sui Wah, very nice interior, ok service, solid food. Was it a few dollars more than similar fare in Seattle, yes. But I also didn't have to drive to Seattle, not to mention put up with the street spectacle that now exists in the International District. It gets 5 stars because it delivers as promised.

Service : nonexistent Food: 9/10…read morePrice: standard but not worth for the horrible service. We spent about $600 for a party of 9. Would rather go to Diamond Bay, Tasty Szechuan, Royal Kitchen, (can see why they're busy and packed on a holiday weekday night and Sun Sui Wah is not) Went here for dinner for my grandma's 89th birthday with a party of 9 at 7pm. We ordered dishes typical of a 10 course meal including crab, Peking duck, live fish, rice, noodles, veggies, seafood, etc. The food was really good and didn't take too long to come out. Everything tasted good and we were all enjoying the family meal together and that's why I am giving 1 star because we will not be coming back. The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

This new glamorous location in Bellevue required a cell phone number in order to be seated in the dining area (apart from the bar area), notwithstanding that there was no line when we arrived at 11am. Asked why, the receptionist said it was in case we left our belongings such as a purse or wallet. Another peeve is that the steamed rice cake with red bean paste has been taken off the menu. That is the only item that could not be easily duplicated at home. Maybe the preparation is too labor intensive to justify the economics. If you are on an expense account and the occasion places ambiance over value or quality, this is the venue for you. I calculated each wonton cost $2. In my opinion, Ding Tai Fung has lost its way.

Located inside of the Marketplace at Factoria Mall, they amassed a reputation that they've held onto for the last decade plus. It's been both good and bad, which is why my rating, along with many other others have been somewhere down the middle. Some good things: * There is plenty of group friendly seating. One could have a large group without having to experience much of a wait, even on the weekends. * In addition there is plenty of parking. No one will ever have to deal with looking for places to park, since the mall has so many spots. * The portions are excellent. One has every right to be nervous about how much dim sum will be served given shrinkflation, but there should be no problem here. For example, one portion of shrimp dumplings will have 8 pieces and the price reflects this as well. The bad: * Prices are objectively terrible. And by terrible, I mean expensive. Usually, I'm not one to care if the portions make up for the price, but seeing as everything is $15-20 a pop, things can add up quickly. Even a single can of soda was $5. Yes, really. * I appreciate the staff speaks Cantonese, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Even when they're not busy, they're not always the easiest to get a hold of and don't necessarily make attendance a priority. * What's worse than subpar tasting food? Having a lot of it. Mediocre execution for various popular dishes meant that food was going to be wasted. This is already a big no no with Asian culture, but the price being factored into it meant folks got hosed twice. At the end of the day, I think there's a lot of potential. It's just that much of it was wasted and I do not rule out a return, but I am not likely to come back anytime soon.

The person taking the order was disappointed when my wife just ordered one dish and pushed her to order more dishes. She refused. We only wanted the one. Then he tried to push her to pay cash instead of using her card. We arrived to pick up the order and he said, "You are very lucky. Tonight our best chef was here to cook your order!" LIAR We got home and all we had received was a pile of little broken, mushy, greasy, pieces of noodles mostly 1/2 to 1 inch long, 2 or 3 noodles perhaps 4 or 5 inches long, and 4 small pieces of chicken each approximately 1/2 inch across. And then looking closely we noticed bits of food that didn't belong there, peas and other bits and pieces we couldn't even recognize. My wife wouldn't eat it. And I unfortunately did have a plate. 20 minutes later I was very ill! We were abused, lied to, cheated, and served contaminated 'food'. I was going to give this 'restaurant' 2 stars because the first time we ordered the dish it was good. But this was SLOP! Five stars, every year…read more We've been coming to Baron's Sino Kitchen & Bar for Chinese New Year for the past seven years, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. We were back again this year and it was just as great as ever. The restaurant is always lively and busy, but the staff somehow still manages to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. What really stood out this time was that the waiter we had last year actually remembered us and stopped by our table just to say hi. That kind of personal touch says a lot about the place. We also have a toddler, and they've always been very relaxed and accommodating. If we need to walk around with him for a bit, no one makes a big deal about it, which parents will definitely appreciate. We started with drinks, and I have to shout out the Fire Breather Dragon--it's made with mezcal and has a really nice kick. Highly recommend if you like something smoky with a little heat. Of course, we always come for the Peking duck, which never disappoints. We ordered a bunch of dishes family-style so everyone could try a bit of everything: - Pickled garlic cucumber salad (so refreshing and one of my personal favorites) - Seafood noodles - A fish dish - Black pepper wagyu sirloin We also tried to order the special fresh lobster, but unfortunately they were out that night. The kitchen did send over a spicy duck platter, which was a nice surprise. Honestly, everything was great, but my personal favorites were the seafood noodles and the black pepper wagyu sirloin--both were packed with flavor. Seven years in and Baron's is still one of our go-to spots for Chinese New Year. We'll definitely be keeping the tradition alive and will be back again next year!

The honey walnut prawns were crispy with a nice light breading, though the walnuts were a bit underwhelming and had gone slightly soggy, likely from not being toasted enough. Pickup was smooth and right on time, the food was packaged carefully, and the front desk staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, everything was solid and we'd absolutely order from here again.
