4 star but really, I might be leaning towards a 3.5 star. We went for lunch on a week day. There was only one other table seated. We decided on our food quickly, but it took a while for it to arrive. Think "island time" which for us, it was okay since we were both off today. But keep this in mind if you are in a rush during your lunch hour. Food: We ordered the Mochiko Chicken, Huli Huli chicken, and island fried rice. Our favorite was Mochiko chicken for sure. We both agreed that it was the best dish, and definitely would go back just for that! The Huli Huli chicken was good, but lukewarm at best when it arrived. My husband likes his food piping hot and so he was disappointed in that. It was like teriyaki chicken with a thicker sauce. It was fine. The Island Fried rice was good, but also nothing to rave about. Seemed like a simple fried rice (not Chinese style fried rice tho) with fried egg, slice of spam, and slice of Portuguese sausage. Fine, nothing great. The server running the bar also was our waiter, he was really kind and patient. He also gave us some recommendations with the Mochiko chicken, he recommended that with would be tossed in something. It was good, but not sure if I needed that? Yummy, but I think I'll try it plain for better judgment next time! The waiter also suggested we come on a Friday or Saturday night for live band! And we will definitely want to come back for that :) Space: really open, cute space. The entrance area had a bit of a sticky bar feel, but other than that, clean. It's downstairs when you enter from the outside, there was an elevator to the left with a ram into the restaurant. Overall a good experience. We will be back with kids, but will order Mochiko Chicken and something else!

My friend and I dined at Pasifika Grill and Bar for lunch, and the food was delicious. So glad there's Pacific Islander food in Bellevue, which is not easily found thus is hard to come by. This is a gem in the area, but it's not for those in a rush. Pasifika Grill and Bar is located on the lower level of Hotel 116 in the Wilburton neighborhood of Bellevue. Hotel restaurants aren't always the best spots, and its predecessor, which was also a bar, didn't last for long. But Pasifika is much-needed in the area. My friend and I visited during our lunch break on a Wednesday and fortunately, we weren't in a rush because the service was on the slower side as there was only one server for the entire restaurant. But at least we knew the food was cooked fresh, which was obvious when we got our plates because we had to wait for it to cool down. I ordered the zesty coco beef, which is a coconut curry with tons of lemon and was sour with tender pieces of beef and rice. I really enjoyed the meal as it was comforting and delicious. I highly recommend trying! My friend ordered the beef kelaguen, which she enjoyed, but said the lumpia was mid. I'd love to come back and explore more of the menu for some island bites and cocktails made with POG! Oh yeah!

$5 for barely filled hot sauce

The good - the kalbi was outstanding, loved it so much. The really disappointing was that I asked for hot sauce on a to go order and they charged me $5.18 without telling me. I noticed this after I paid, thinking how could two entrees possibly cost $80? I get you have to pay for good food but if someone asks for hot sauce, I would expect to be told it costs something and it's really expensive. I couldn't find it on the menu either so I want to believe they wouldn't charge in the restaurant. Hulu Hulu chicken was mid at best, decent flavor, too chewy for me. I wanted to love the place but I was mostly disappointed.

Happy hour review: I went here during happy hour which is a bit challenging normally since it is Monday to Friday 2-5:30pm, right around most people working 9-5. But because it was the day after Christmas, it was easy for us to go on Friday around 4pm and surprisingly despite being holidays, it was not busy at all. We walked in immediately and were seated at a 2-top. The prices for happy hour are really really good - most items are $6-10 or more off so we saved almost 50% off. A bottle of house wine is $12 which is almost unheard of in Seattle restaurants. I can't even get decent wine for that low at a winery or most grocery stores, and that price is less than a lot of cocktails in bars. Happy hour food is at most $10 and they are regularly sized. We got the following to try - Old Fashioned Passion ($9) - really solid take of classic old fashioned with a tropical twist. It is a bit sweet but it is still a strong drink - Local Girl drink ($8) - really easy to drink, fizzy. At first glance I thought it was a mocktail - Pork lumpia ($6) - 3 pieces with dipping sauce. Decent start for food - Kalua nachos ($10) - lots of wonton chips and a decent amount of Kalua pork and cream. I recommend consuming immediately as it gets cold fast - Pork belly bites ($10) - very hearty, good fat to meat ratio. Perfect source of protein and fairly high quality - Ota w/ taro chips ($10) - raw fish with taro chips. Fairly fresh, love the combination. Extremely good value since you can't find good ceviche at this price point anywhere nearby - Pani popo ($9) - baked bread with condensed milk and macadamia nuts. Really good and fairly unique dessert Service is attentive as they give water refills and check up on us occasionally.

    Loco Moco

Let me just say that this Loco Moco not only left me speechless but I found myself in horizontal mode on the couch. The dish comes with a generous scoop of rice, a well-seasoned beef patty, silky brown gravy, and a perfectly cooked sunny side egg on top. Each bite was heart and truly satisfying, the kind of food that makes sense as an all day meal but not just a "fun" menu item. The vibe matches the comforting style of the food, welcoming with the focus on hospitality over hype. Part of the charm is how tucked away it feels for a Bellevue restaurant, which makes it feel like a place you "discovered" and then keeping in your back pocket. Also, the servers were nothing but hospitable! If you're in Bellevue and craving series, comfort food, Pasifika Grill is absolutely worth a visit!

I've been been to Pasifika for dinner and for lunch. I have to say dinner experience was preferred. For dinner, the 3 of us ordered two appetizers, 3 entrees and 2 desserts. Good vibes with tasty mix of Hawaiian and Guamanian food. Favorites included the kalbi ribs, mochiko chicken, pork belly bites and homemade carrot cake. The place was hopping on a Saturday night and there was live music. Plenty of friendly staff on hand to help out. The lunch experience was a little more subdued. The garlic shishito chicken wings were crispy, but could've used a little more flavor. The musubi sampler was good, but the Portuguese sausage was on the unexpected spicy side. We may order musubi individually next time. Overall, the food is tasty here and a little on the pricey side. Free parking is a plus.

    Steak Moco

This rating is SOLELY for the Steak Moco. 5 Stars. Absolutely a surprise excellent meal. Been here a few times and the other meals were not bad but didn't prompt for a review just yet. Opening the box, it wasn't impressive looking, but underneath there is a good amount of steak! And it wasn't thin low quality steak either. WIN. The gravy was unique and mixed well with the rice, steak, eggs. The mac salad with tuna was not skimpy either. All in all, fully validate and appreciate the Steak Moco as 5 stars, for $29. An excellent post workout meal or if you only eating 1 meal a day, totally worth it! The fries though, not worth $15, maybe $8.

I've been to Pasifika twice now, and there's just something so special about it. Everything I've tried (both food and drinks) has been delicious. I especially love all the great shareable options (the hurricane fries and musubi platter are our favorites). The best thing about Pasifika, though, is the vibe and staff. Every staff member I've encountered has been so welcoming, helpful, and kind. The owners are regularly walking around, greeting guests and giving recommendations. This will definitely be a place we continue to return to!

We continue to come back for the delicious food and unmatched hospitality-it feels like home coming here. The island vibes are strong and you feel it the moment you walk in. They bring in island talent every so often and the place gets packed. Live music nights are our favorite as well as weekend brunches hanging with the Sunday crew!

We had a great experience here. The restaurant is pretty spacious and not too busy in a weekday dinner. Prices are a bit higher from other Hawaiian places we've been to, but taste good so worth it. Overall good vibes - the music and the servers! For 2 people, we ordered: 1. shoyu poke: pretty standard / good, comes with refillable taro chips (I think they're made in house) 2. steak moko: Not too heavy even with steak and gravy. Steak was a fancy upgrade from the usual beef patties. 3. Mochiko chicken: this was battered and fried very nicely! Came out hot.

I really wanted to like this place. The vibe and music were perfect, and the service was friendly and attentive. We had already eaten dinner but decided to stop by and try a few appetizers while we were in the area. We ordered the empanada, lumpia, and wings with shishito peppers. The empanada was a bit bland, and it seemed like there was sweet basil mixed in, which gave it an unusual, mint-like aftertaste that felt out of place for this dish. The lumpia was also on the bland side, and the wings were oily and lacking flavor. All that said, there aren't many pacific island restaurants around -- so I genuinely want this place to succeed. I've heard great things about their main dishes, so we'll definitely come back and give those a try. The atmosphere and service make me want to return, and I'm hopeful the entrées will shine more. Wishing them the best -- I'll update once I try more of the menu!

The vibes in this place were so chill & relaxed. I loved the music playing , (Island Reggae), the bar was open and welcoming. The wood esthetic added the warmth and inviting atmosphere. Service was friendly and prompt. Perfect timing when asking if we were interested in drinks.....what we would like to order......how everything was. Could not have asked for better service. Old Fashion Passion! Highly recommend if you like whiskey. Uncle Nearest, so smooth, paired prefer with the passion fruit, bitters, orange and cherry garnish. Classic Mimosa good balance between Coppola Prosecco and Orange Juice Kalbi Short Ribs: Seasoned really well, seared nicely. Paired well with the coolness of the Tuna Mac Salad, the tangy bite of the Kim chi and the Furikake on the rice. Mochiko Chicken: The chicken had a savory marinade and a nice crunch from the Mochiko. Tastes amazing by itself and with the citrus dipping sauce! The Tuna Mac Salad was creamy and eggy without being too wet (if you like your Mac Salad more dry then wet, you know what I mean), Kim Chi had the nice crunch with spicy vinegar flavor. Rice was topped with Furikake. I spoke with the owner, she was so kind and friendly. She said Friday and Saturday they have music and Karaoke. I definitely plan to come back again soon! Amazing vibe, friendly service and delicious food!!!!

Instead of 3 stars this could have been a 4 or 5 star experience. Highlights: both appetizers were very good. Crispy chicken wings with the mango BBQ sauce were delicious. The poke was fresh and well plated with nicely made taro chips. The Hulu chicken was really appreciated. Low lights start with service. We clearly ordered appetizers to share then entrees. Out came both appetizers and 3 of the 4 entrées - all at once. Very disappointing. Then the 4th entree, the green papaya salad with shrimp came out almost 20 minutes later. Also disappointing. When we finished our food we ordered the carrot cake dessert. The server cleared half of our dishes and left. He came back with the dessert and started to leave. We had to ask him to clear the rest of the dishes. Other low lights included the papaya salad. Tasty, but as I ate it I kept coughing. I moved some of ingredients around to see the salad was sitting in a deep pool of vinegary dressing. I tried to let the dressing drip off each bite, but I couldn't finish it. Other food notes: the person who ordered the short ribs would have enjoyed them more if they were less salty. No one was crazy about the tuna in the mac salad. We had mixed feelings about the carrot cake. Very rich, it almost seemed more like a confection than a cake. We might have liked it more with vanilla ice cream instead of the very sweet sauce. Most things wrong with our experience seem easily fixable with the right focus.

Thankfully dine-in is back open again, so we got here on a Saturday morning around 11:20am to indoor seating that was nearly full and a small line that was forming at the front counter. Walls have a bunch of photo frames, and overall place felt very homely. They have a ton of Hawaiian style plates and even burgers and some seafood, though we and most others got the former to eat. I ordered their chicken and pork combo Hawaiian style plate, and my bestie got their chicken katsu Hawaiian style plate. Portions are huge for both plates and both also came with macaroni salad. They give you sooooo much meat no matter what you get. To go in slightly more detail: - Chicken and pork combo: both meats were flavored very well, and a little sweet too though pretty salty without using the rice as a palette cleanser. Chicken had more depth in its flavor; the pork's flavor was a little too much for my liking, and was slightly harder to chew. Both meats had some sauce hat went onto the rice itself. This didn't detract from my overall experience here, though. - Chicken katsu: we both agreed this was our favorite after exchanging pieces of each other's dish. The katsu is crispy and crunchy, and the chicken itself retained a lot of its juiciness. Katsu sauce on the side is honestly optional since the meat itself is already salty enough. This place does share extremely limited parking with Cakes of Paradise next door, so get here early or be prepared to drive around the area to find some. Parking is scarce, so plan ahead and be patient. We came on a Wednesday and happened to score a parking spot right in front of the bakery. Once you arrive, get in line immediately--there will be one. The woman taking our order was incredibly peppy and friendly, even while juggling everything: taking in-person orders, answering phones, serving customers, and bagging food. Seriously impressive. All the seats were filled, so we ordered everything to-go. We got the famous crispy ginger chicken, spam musubi, and chicken long rice. I was hoping for oxtail soup and asked about it--she explained they only offer it on certain days and recommended calling early in the morning to check, then getting there quickly because it sells out fast. Can't wait to come back and try it. Back at the hotel, we feasted. The crispy ginger chicken is famous for a reason--so flavorful, perfectly crispy, and somehow even better the next day. The chicken long rice was packed with noodles directly in the soup (not separately) so the broth had mostly soaked into the noodles, but it was still deeply flavorful and comforting. The spam musubi leans on the sweeter side, which is great if that's your thing. Overall, this place is all about heart, hustle, and seriously satisfying Hawaiian comfort food. Come early, expect a line, plan for parking--and you'll be rewarded.

It's nice that there is half order as a lot of Hawaiian restaurants tend to be full orders so it is incredibly hard to try a variety of options if you're solo or in a small group. The Hawaiian chicken and karaage both are juicy and delicious. It's great that the combo is the same price as the standard individual options so I got to try more variety without paying extra. I looked at the reviews and opted to remove the rice and get extra salad which was a good move - their chop chop salad is very delicious with a nice balance of dressing, cheese, and ham. I still had some rice from the loco moco, which was sufficient for me. The loco moco is good - I wished the patty was a bit less tough but the gravy and egg make up for it. I was originally going to order some musubi, but after seeing a curry dish, I couldn't resist. Curry Loco Moco Don ($16) - The chef first piles a mound of rice in the bowl. It seems to be higher quality short grain rice, giving great mouthfeel at first, but then biting into it, the overcooked mushy qualities emerge. The rice is sprinkled with a bit of furikake, adding a briny and savory flavor profile. Two beef patties are set on top, both with seemingly fake grill marks, perhaps indicative of commercial patties. They are homogeneous with a kind of spongy texture, pressed into a puck with a bunch of filler like Japanese hambagu. The beef is somewhat tender, but isn't soft enough to be cut through with a plastic fork. There's a fried egg on top, complete with runny yolk and even a small amount of runny white. They then ladle a couple of scoops of Japanese curry over the top. It's somewhat generic, probably a normal boxed curry mix with no embellishment, but it's cooked well. It has a nice thickness, isn't too thin or runny, lending a good curry flavor to the dish. I do with it came with a bit more curry since after eating about half the dish, it was all gone. Finally, some pickled ginger on top completes the dish. The curry is quite filling, probably close to 2 pounds of food. (4/5) Musubi Kai is a convenient and quick stop for a bite while downtown. All the staff were pretty chill and nice. Love all their smiles. I got my favorite, Beef Stew. I ordered this often in Lynnwood site, especially when I was sick. Regarless, it's on different location, the taste is the same! So, I'm happy about it. The vibe is completely different than Lynnwood one. This restaurant is darker and guests are way louder. Mostly, university students, I think. I like dim light atmosphere, unfortunately, I can't enjoy it much here. Too loud? Too dark? Or it's just not the right light bulbs, it got me dizzy. It was at night, it made the room even gloomy. Upon returning to the parking lot, the atmosphere is somewhat unsettling. This is particularly true for a woman walking alone. To access the parking lot, I had to walk through the darkness to the back of the building. Unfortunately, due to the narrow parking lot, one car was parked in a manner that blocked the exit way, requiring me to reverse all the way out. Overall fantastic staff, fantastic food, but I may not comeback because the vibe just doesn't suit me. This restaurant will most likely be very busy in the better location and fresh look.

The space is small but it doesn't bother us at all. The milk shake is good. Fries are amazing. And their sauces are all so good. You really can't go wrong with any of the katsu burger, but we do prefer the chicken katsu patty vs the others. That's just our preference. My friend likes the beef. You can't go wrong either way! When choosing the sauce for your fries, I highly recommend the garlic sauce. It is so good. The staff is also always very kind and friendly. We just love it. PLUS I noticed that they had this sign that said they do not use peanuts. So that's a big win for us as we have a kiddo with peanut allergy.

Loved the crispness of the tofu, crunchy veggies and the sweet and salty flavors oozing from the sauce. The Kanna Akuma is for folks who like it spicy-- there's a lot of jalapeños so beware! The fries were crispy with a nice earthy-with-a-kick Indian masala flavor! Not much of a dine-in experience just so you know. Its more of a pick up joint. I placed my order online and it was ready at the estimated time. My bill came up to $34 total, but these are specialty burgers so it makes sense. I would totally recommend this to a friend. And looking forward to trying other items on their menu.
