Wontons in hot sauce (chili oil)
    Mae D.

Walked in mid morning and wasn't busy so I was able to order right away. The lady at the counter was sweet and helpful. I ordered the wontons in hot sauce and the shu mai (how I base any place that sells dim sum). Just waited 14 mins to get my food which was hot and fresh. The wontons were generously covered in chili oil. It was juicy, perfect amount of chili oil, and topped with scallions. I did enjoy the shu mai more as it was much more flavorful as I tried it plain first and then dipped it in the chili oil after. It's a hefty size and comes with four to an order. I would like to try more dishes if they are just as good as these two items. It is casual dining and they have plenty of seating. Also to note, the menu is extensive AND they serve bubble tea and smoothies which I'll be trying next time! I only come to Kirkland when I have a doctors appointment but when I'm in the area I will definitely be paying them a visit. I will make it a nice routine of going to the doctor and then getting yummy food after (or before).

the lunch special Monday thru Friday from 10:30AM - 3pm is the tastiest deal ever. Pair that with a DIY tea drink also offered here and it's a lunch to remember! The beef chow fun is flavorful with giant slices of beef and onions. It has that authentic charred flavor :) I paired that with a classic milk tea and loved how the boba was cooked nicely. Lunch special Mongolian beef was stir fried in a hearty sauce, and that was devoured fast, needing a bit more rice at the end but the owner was more than happy to oblige, giving us a little scoop extra to round out the sauce at the end of the dish. We appreciate the care and generosity put into this entire restaurant. All the tables are clean and neat. The service is fast and excellent. You can use at the self-order pad or order at the front counter if someone is available. Overall, love the vibe of this place. I always enjoy getting a special milk tea with my food so I'll be coming back to visit their extensive menu for different drinks and authentic canto dishes!

    Wontons in Hot Sauce

My office building was doing a delivery from here, and have always wanted to try out the place. I already had lunch, so I just ordered the Wontons in Hot Sauce, since I like to try these everywhere. I also ordered one for my bf. My bf and I really liked it. Lots of chili oil, and good texture of the wonton. The filling was good. Would order them again. And lots of other stuff I want to try.

Today I ordered something different from Early Bird Cafe and it was a disappointment. I ordered the Mongolian Beef lunch. First of all this Mongolian beef is too dried and chewy. Most other place I had Mongolian beef, they are tender. Some restaurants can do it right and lots can't. If I order again in the future, I will try something different. For this dish I didn't even finish it . Couldn't eat it anymore.

Their MaPo tofu is very tasty. Egg rolls are small but are good to eat. Prices for meals are reasonable. D sum prices are a bit high though imho Service is good

Best food!! Best service !! Hong Kong Chinese style and also Asian fusion soon. Amazing ambience and vibe. 10/10 recommend. the bathrooms be clean. And the loco moco is my favorite. Chicken wings too. *ask for the secret menu special kungpow poodle

Ordered Chicken Curry special and boba drink. Really surprised at how good my curry was -met/exceeded expectations. Good amt of meat and veg. Always taking a gamble when ordering boba at a non-boba exclusive restaurant, but the boba was tender and chewy. My drink met my expectations. The gentleman that took my order was very nice. The food came out in a very reasonable amt of time. There were several to-go orders going out while I waited for my food. I will be back to try their other items!

I came in at a pretty odd time for a meal aka 3:45pm on a Saturday. It wasn't super busy although there were people. There was a decent amount of dimsum items that were no longer available. I hadn't had lunch and had originally come in for popcorn chicken. Looking at the prices, I decided to get the fried chicken steak in hopes that it would be a good enough substitute. I also added in a taro milk tea with boba since it was only $2.50 which feels like a miracle these days. The food came up relatively quickly and in a takeout box although I ate it in the store. They have a total of 4 large table but given the closeness of 3 of the tables, if there are people occupying seats closest to the middle table, it isn't really feasible to use the middle table. I ended up just sitting near the windows. Overall I don't feel this particular meal was worth getting. The chicken didn't have a significantly distinct flavor to me beyond too salty in certain bites. The broccoli was as bland as I expected. The boba wasn't bad and was reasonably chewy. The taro milk tea was the expected powered taro milk tea that I wanted. Perhaps I'll give them another try if I'm in the area but for now this is my opinion.

Chicken Lo Mein. Noodles have a nice texture to them. Not super flavorful but better it being too salty.

Quick and easy place if you are in the mood for some simple quick Asian dishes. The Xiao mai is huge and the congee is tasty. We enjoyed the Szechuan cold noodles was tasty but a bit overpriced. So if you aren't in the mood to drive all the way to Seattle, I think this place will meet your cravings.

A wonderful little Chinese place having a mix of dishes from both North and South of China, dim sum in the morning, plus special bubble tea drinks. Oriented for take out, but they do have a few tables too. We stopped by around 4pm and ordered a snack of spicy wontons and crispy chicken, and diet coke. The wontons were home made and full of large pieces of shrimp, and the chicken was just perfect. We would have ordered more, but we had a big family dinner coming up at 7. Will be back to try more dishes...highly recommended

Curry Rice Noodle (aka Singapore Rice Noodle), $11.75 – 5 Stars
    Eva M.

Their current rating is a solid 4, maybe even 4.5 stars. I think they have the ability to become a 5 Stars rating because I find their food to be largely authentic, even if regionally mixed. I still need to try their dim sum. Early Bird Café, as the name implies, opens early to attract a morning breakfast crowd who wants some authentic dim sum. Their chefs, cooks, and some staff members spoke Hoisan and Cantonese, which is always a comfortable starting point for some Southern Chinese cuisine. Their menu extends beyond Southern Chinese, encompassing some Hakka dishes, as well as some Taiwanese dishes. For this first order, I ordered a mix to test them out, and the results were a bit of a mix. They need to improve their consistency. For a very small venue (ex DIY Tea Lab, ex Wah Luck location), they are outperforming. I think they can be stellar, if they streamline for consistent output. I ordered in person, which can be via the giant screen or with a staff member. There is minimum seating inside, so it's mostly a to-go venue. The Food: Beef Noodle Soup, $15.95 - 4.5 Stars The portion size was generous. 3 large chunks of meaty beef accompanied pieces of bok choy and noodles. In an unusual turn, there weren't enough noodles in proportion. Luckily, that is easily solvable. The broth was very, very fragrant, though it was a tad salty. Also, easily solved with some hot water. This dish impressively became hubby's lunch and dinner with some added noodles, veggies, and water. (He has a BIG appetite.) Sour & Spicy Soup (aka Hot and Sour Soup), $4.75 - 4 Stars I was first of all impressed with the price. In Kirkland, there isn't much for $4.75. The soup ingredients are legit, with tofu, cloud ears, bamboo shoots. What I don't like is the consistency of the soup - thick/gelatinous commonly due to added corn starch. Soup as a liquid without the corn starch is always better. Salted Pepper Tofu (aka Salt and Pepper Tofu), $8.50 - 3 Stars By the time I was home, it has lost its crunch; I'm not surprised though. Covered in red chili flakes, this dish was also salty. This is what I meant by the lack of consistency. Neither the beef noodle soup or a simple fried tofu dish should have been salty. It's fixable! The portion size and the tofu quality are otherwise good. Curry Rice Noodle (aka Singapore Rice Noodle), $11.75 - 5 Stars This dish was EXCELLENT! Perfectly cooked noodles, perfect curry flavor, with the right amount of bean sprouts and meats. Thumbs up! For self-pick-up orders, this site works. The staff also said I can phone in the order. Note that the menu is time adjusted to show only Breakfast or Lunch/Dinner menu. https://www.ordertogo.com/restaurants/earlybird/mesh

I don't need a chef wildly experimenting with my siu mai, or dabbling with my baked hom bow. My analysis of Sun Sui Wah, very nice interior, ok service, solid food. Was it a few dollars more than similar fare in Seattle, yes. But I also didn't have to drive to Seattle, not to mention put up with the street spectacle that now exists in the International District. Service : nonexistent Food: 9/10…read morePrice: standard but not worth for the horrible service. We spent about $600 for a party of 9. Would rather go to Diamond Bay, Tasty Szechuan, Royal Kitchen, (can see why they're busy and packed on a holiday weekday night and Sun Sui Wah is not) Went here for dinner for my grandma's 89th birthday with a party of 9 at 7pm. We ordered dishes typical of a 10 course meal including crab, Peking duck, live fish, rice, noodles, veggies, seafood, etc. The food was really good and didn't take too long to come out. Everything tasted good and we were all enjoying the family meal together and that's why I am giving 1 star because we will not be coming back. The service was absolutely horrible; ruined our dinner and wasted an extra 1-1.5hr of everybody's time. There was only 2 other tables in the restaurant and the servers started having dinner together at a table instead of working. I would understand if we were high maintenance customers or were giving them attitude but we did not. My cousin and I have both been FOH and BOH staff so we try to be understanding and patient when it comes to service especially coming from a Chinese background too. However, we asked for water several times, they never refilled anyone's water or the tea even once at this point it was end of dinner and 5 out of the 6 of us had completely empty glasses for about 30 minutes. We finally got water when we signaled to the Busser and he went to tell the same server again. We finished eating and decided to pay first so my grandma wouldn't try to pay. We tipped 18% off the bill since we were a large party and I wasn't about to punish all the workers for some water but what happened after made everything much worse. We asked for togo boxes and the server lady just dropped them off stared at our table and left. I was already wondering why she was seeming to be upset but seems like we were interrupting their dinner because 3 or 4 chinese servers were eating together at the table at the front when my sister's boyfriend went to pay. (That's why we didnt have water) I don't mind the workers needing to eat because I have been in their shoes before but please provide some service if you still have customers inside the restaurant waving at you. We wanted to leave just as much as they probabaly wanted to close at 10 pm(it was around 830ish now) We noticed that the cake they had been holding for us in the fridge was just sitting at another table in the restaurant. They saw us go grab it ourselves. We packed all the leftovers and started putting our dirty dishes and stuff onto the table because the workers were doing nothing. They saw that we were done but didn't want to stop their 8:30pm dinner I guess. Finally we asked them to bring us plates and clear the table. I have never had to ask the Chinese servers at any restaurant to clear the table before dessert, normally they do it for you, especially after you just tipped them almost $100 lol. The Chinese servers sent the bus boy to clear our table and guess what returned to their dinner! We again asked them for plates for the cake. It took so long to the point my sister missed picking up her prescription at 9pm. Not sure if the dim sum service is better but I'm pretty sure those 5 star service reviews are from the chinese servers' friends and/or family. Or the servers are taught to do nothing besides get the order and drop it off. Unfortunaly we will not be spending money at this establishment again because of the service and will be telling our family and friends in Issaquah and Bellevue to choose better places for sit down family meals. Hope others enjoy their meals because the food is still good

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads)…read more Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

CHECK your bill here!!!!!!!!…read more We took our daughters from out of town for Sunday dim sum. Longtime family tradition!! And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!

Noodle Nine delivers a genuinely authentic dining experience that feels like stepping into a slice…read moreof everyday Asia rather than a polished, commercialized version of it. From the moment you walk in, the cultural atmosphere stands out--many of the patrons are Asian, and on my visit, a few were even dressed in traditional garments, which added a vibrant, lived-in feel to the space. It's the kind of detail you can't manufacture, and it speaks volumes about the restaurant's credibility within the community. The interior itself is fairly average--nothing particularly modern or upscale--but it doesn't detract from the experience. If anything, it keeps the focus where it belongs: on the food. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. There were only two servers handling the floor, and they were clearly stretched thin. Ordering is done digitally, which helps streamline things, but you can still feel the strain during peak times. That said, the food started arriving quickly--our tofu noodle dish came out almost immediately, while the beef dish lagged behind a bit. Presentation leans traditional in a charming way. The plates and chopsticks have that classic, no-frills aesthetic that complements the overall vibe of the restaurant. Now, let's talk about the food. First, a word of caution: spice levels here are no joke. If you're sensitive to heat, you'll want to dial it down. But if you can handle it, the flavors are absolutely worth it--rich, bold, and deeply satisfying. The tofu was exceptionally soft, almost silky, and clearly freshly prepared. The noodles matched that texture perfectly--tender, well-cooked, and comforting. Pricing is another strong point. For the quality and portion sizes, it's very reasonable, making it an easy spot to revisit without hesitation. Overall, Nine Noodles is a great pick if you're looking for authentic flavors, a culturally immersive atmosphere, and solid value. It's not about fancy decor or polished service--it's about good, honest food. I'd definitely come back.
