Finally I get to try their fried chicken here like my first time here back in 2021! My party of 3 got seated immediately since this was during a lunch hour around 11am with almost no tables filled. We decided to get several dishes, including their well-known fired chicken: - Spicy cumin lamb: this appetizer was fire, not literally. The spice was almost nonexistent but it was a nice, chewy texture without the usual gamey taste. - Wonton in chili oil: this was a step up in terms of spice. Fresh, piping hot, and the chili oil paired well with the coating of the wontons. - Basil fried rice: full of basil, seasoned with eggs and what tastes like sesame oil. Great palette cleanser. - Signature fried chicken: we got a mixture of mid wings and thighs to split among the three of us. We got 6 of each so we each got 2 of each kind. Our favorite was the chicken things because of how juicy they were despite usual chicken thighs losing their juiciness compared to mid wings. So Tasty is right! The husband heard about this place and had been talking about trying it out. We ordered the must-have item, fried chicken, of course, and a couple of side dishes. The staff was super friendly, and the restaurant was roomy and clean. We went right as they opened on a Saturday morning, so we were pretty much the only ones in there. Now to the food. The chicken was perfectly spiced. We got the spicy chicken, and you can tell it's marinated in spice and just coated with spice on the outside. The tomato brisket soup was delicious. It definitely was a bit sweet from the tomatoes, so if you don't like sweet soup, it's probably not for you. Stir fried green beans with garlic were spot on, and lastly, the intestines were a nice side dish. Ordering intestines can always be a gamble, especially if they aren't cleaned properly. The best piece was thigh then drumstick and then full wing. The waffle fries were decent. The plum drink is unique and alright. Found a new person on YouTube to watch and discovered So Tasty. On our way there, we realized we've driven past this restaurant countless times. We were seated quickly and ordered via QR code. Ordered the egg tarts, fried rice, two types of fried chicken(spicy and original), and the won ton in chili oil. Fried chicken thigh pieces were HUGE. I was vacationing in Seattle and prior to leaving I wanted to hit up some good spots. I found YouTuber Matthew Norman's channel and he gave a recommendation for So tasty chicken. Now you know I must have really wanted to try it because I didn't take UBER because it is way overpriced in Seattle. I caught the bus lol lol. It's a restaurant in a strip mall. When you are seated you scan the menu on your phone and it takes you to the restaurants page. Ordering was so easy and simple. Now the pricing is kinda high to me but what do I know I'm not from Seattle but seemed kinda overpriced. We ordered fried rice, chicken and the beef brisket soup. The chicken can be ordered by pieces, so we ordered to flats, two whole wings and some chicken thighs all two pieces. The flavor of the rice was very good. I loved the beef brisket soup and the flavor of the chicken was good. That being said I like my chicken fried a little extra crispy so I wish it had been crispier. After re-visiting So Tasty a couple more times, I have to say the consistency and quality in the fried chicken here is genuinely unparalleled. The chicken is Jollibee levels of juicy and flavorful all the way through, even the non-spicy version! The outer shell is seasoned perfectly and perfectly crunchy; even after leaving the chicken overnight, it manages to maintain its shatteringly crisp texture, which simply must be witchcraft. Overall, I think I might have to agree with their statement that So Tasty has the best fried chicken in Seattle. Every time I've gone, I've never had to wait for a table, though they do share a small parking lot that can fill up even on weekdays. I tried the braised pork feet and while texturally they were super tender, they were unfortunately a bit bland. The cabbage on the side was way better than it needed to be, but I'd probably just stick to getting the fried chicken. This is a Cantonese/Chinese fusion restaurant but mostly offers fried chicken. The fried chicken here is fairly huge portions, so a $14.99 combo is a really good deal that is more than enough food for 2 people (comes with 3 pieces of chicken of your choice of preselected combinations, fries, and drink). We also got 2 pieces of mid-wings, mala chicken as it was still 50% off ($8 instead of $16), and 1 durian and 1 regular Portuguese egg tarts. We had more than enough food so we ended up boxing the mala chicken to-go. You can pick original or spicy for the fried chicken. Original is a bit bland, but the crispiness of the batter and the juiciness of the chicken is spot on. The spicy is better, but the taste of the spicy is more peppery than the Chinese spicy herbs that you would expect. It is still good, but not as much of my preference. The mala chicken order was really good, just a bit less numbing spicy as I would've thought, but the ingredients are mostly there. The durian egg tart and regular Portuguese egg tart are fantastic. The durian one had a strong durian flavor but did not linger long in my taste buds, so I was able to savor the regular egg tart right after. The regular egg tart is quite buttery. Both have fairly flaky crusts. Charging $2.75 for regular and $4.75 for durian is a bit steep, but I am glad to try it out and at least they were solid. Service is expected is more hands-off after food is delivered. You just need to flag down a server to fulfill any necessary requests. Visited during Seattle Restaurant Week and was blown away by the food and value. We got a drink, an appetizer, a main, and dessert for $20 which is so hard to come by nowadays. Everything we had was delicious but the fried chicken burger in particular was phenomenal. The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried and the amount of spicy sauce was great. First let me start off with their hospitality. My husband is currently mobility impaired and in a wheelchair. Once we came in, they quickly helped us and made sure that he was comfortable and could fit in the table with ease. This was beyond my expectations and we greatly appreciated this gesture. The pork belly combo with kale. The pork belly is very thin but flavorful and that kale is amazing. It's bright and perfectly seasoned. Easily one of my favorites and just thinking about it, I want some now. The sweet potato pancakes were a pass for us and a heavy on the oily side. Now, what was a 10/5 was the pig feet or pork hock. It was cooked perfectly and the seasoning and braise was so good. We didn't expect to enjoy this as much as we did but I would hands down come back for this alone. If you love pig feet, then this is a must do. I would undoubtedly come back here for the pig feet over the fried chicken any day of the week. I upgraded the soup to a combo to include the mango green tea, cucumber salad, and grass jelly--- really good deal! It was only like $6 to upgrade to this combo.
