501. Pomelo and Mango with Sago
David H.

Stopped by for dessert after dinner at tendon kohaku! I didn't believe it when people said their mango is ripe year round..... but call me a believer cuz golllllly, those bad boys were indeed ripe! Got an order of their pomelo and mango sago, which tasted just like a pomelo + mango sago boba drink. Sooo good. Was it the best mango dessert I've ever had? No. But was it better than the typical dessert I've had? Yeah! I will say.. my opinion might be a lil biased bc your boy loves mangos lolol

The mango drinks were incredibly refreshing and perfect for the hot weather. They had a fresh mango flavor without being overly sweet, which made them really enjoyable and easy to drink. Everything tasted light, fruity, and well balanced. Definitely a great spot to cool down with dessert and drinks on a warm day

Small cafe, not many places to sit but easy to take out! Mango romance (sampler of three) Mango chewy ball - I thought this would be my favorite but the ball is thick so the rice bland flavor comes through a bit too much, great chew though! 3/5 Mango mochi - so soft and chewy and extremely good! 4.5/5 Mango ice - so light and refreshing with a lot of natural sweet mango flavor that comes through 4.5/5

Food - healthy desserts that actually taste good. I guess I dunno how healthy but I think they use real fruit at least. Got a coconut mango sago & tried my husband's watermelon swirl. Watermelon not that sweet prob cuz it's real fruit. Mango was suuuper sweet. Also lots of sago maybe like 1/3 of my drink. So I kinda had to chew my drink. Next time I'll ask for less sago. Service - quick and friendly. Ambiance - more of a togo kinda place. Only a few seats inside. But there's a shared public outdoor seating area. Perfect for summer nights.

I came on a sunday around 3pm and there was no line. My drink also came out in less than 5 minutes! The shop is not that big, but since it wasn't too busy, I didn't mind. It was also well decorated. I got the coconut mango sago and it was very nice and refreshing. It wasn't too sweet either.

Came here for dessert after lunch, and it hit the spot! We got the mango crystal jelly dessert. It's a cold dessert with icy mango puree, mango chunks, clear jelly, mango coconut ice cream. Very delicious! Would love to come back. Happy eating!

If you love mango, then Hui Lau Shan must be on your list. The place whips up delicious mango desserts and is a treat to eat them. The place is quite tiny and doesn't have too much seating. The service is pretty quick though. Highly recommend the mango crystal jelly, it's delicious. I'm quite a regular here, love their desserts!

We arrived at 4pm which was good because they are closed from 3:30-4pm for a short break. Ordered the jumbo mango sago for my partner and I and got a fair amount (depicted below). Order came fairly quickly and was very tasty! Seating is decent at the store and it overall is pretty cleanly. Would come again (it's a good thing for my blood sugar it's not near my residence)

We had to stop by this place as it was across the street of the restaurant we had lunch at. This place has lots of mango based desserts and drinks. I had the pomelo mango with sago drink and a black sesame pudding to go. The drink was excellent and not too sweet. The black sesame dessert was rich. There are some other items that i would like to try next time.

I love this place so much, and not just because I like mangoes! This is probably the 3rd Hui Lau Shan I've been to in this state, but several times in this specific one before writing a review for this specific location. I got here with a friend on a Sunday night and used street parking nearby, which was rough to find. You won't find much seating inside the place either; there's several tables that seat bigger groups and a couple that seat a max of two people. The rest of the space is the kitchen where the desserts are prepared and, like its other location at Bel-Red, there's a ton of big boxes of fresh mangoes nearby and the scent of mangoes hits you pretty hard. For this visit, I shared the mango romance with my friend, then got a mango coconut with sago for myself. The mango coconut with sago was in quite a big cup, and I loved how sweet and refreshing it was! The mango romance is pretty delicious too; you have mango bits, mango ice cream, mango slush, chewy balls and even a mango mochi that's best shared in small bites though I ironically wasn't a fan of the coconut flakes on top of the mango mochi. You can't get these kinds of mango desserts anywhere else, so I highly recommend giving here and its other location a try if you love mangoes!

We came here after a meal. We are here for a mango dessert. You will notice they do not use powder or any form except fresh mangoes. You will see lots of boxes of champagne mangoes and this is the good one. It's in season. We ordered mango coconut jelly and mango, sago and tapioca drink. The coconut jelly was in a real coconut shell filled to the rim with real coconut , mangoes and rice balls. It was delicious! The mango drink was also delicious! Service was fast despite having a line. People are friendly and assured us fast, The place had lots of parking. The place was clean, nicely decorated and packed with people. Will definitely come back and enjoy more mango desserts.

Not sure why she canceled this order. Had to go to the store and reorder and wait because kid what to eat this. Not busy time, no one is waiting there. She used her hand to order, pull hair, handle fruit and pick fruit. Last time being there.

Dessert was good, especially the mango pomelo. However, the amount is not too generous.

We ordered shrimp rice roll, har gow, football, shrimp with eggplant, shrimp with bell pepper, spare rib, Xiao long bao, sautéed pea tips, chicken feet, meatballs, shrimp and chive dumplings, tripe, and mango pudding. I really liked the filling in the football, which contained ground pork and mushrooms, not so much the flour for the outer layer. I also liked the tripe, pea tips, and chicken feet. They were delectable. Other than that, it seemed a bit plain. I didn't really like the chili oil they used, it was more like a sambal. I'm glad we ended with the mango pudding for dessert. The mold for it was so cute. Hopefully next time I come here they change up the chili used.

My mom and I went in right at opening time in a weekday and were both pleasant surprised by the quality of the dishes. My favorite dish (chewing fun/shrimp rice noodle roll) was very fresh. I also loved the duck and the baked goods including pineapple bun (I usually don't like the custard once but this one was not as gooey as it usually is) and bbq bun - the bread was sooooooo soft. The fact it was already so busy at opening time on a weekday really says a lot! I'm sure it's pretty crazy during the weekends... My small nitpick would be the service and ordering. You order through your phone using a QR code but the reception was really bad for me and they don't have WiFi for guests. We were able to put in an order with a waiter but that took a while. The food is worth it tho!

All were delicious but my favorite was the stone pot rice. Second time I ordered here, I got garlic chicken wings and fries. Loved it! The wings and fries tasted so fresh. Super crispy and juicy, flavorful. And they were super generous with the fries. There were tons and so yummy - crispy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. Service is good too. Honestly I don't even know why I even bother ordering Uber Eats from Lee's Kitchen (Factoria…read morelocation) anymore. They've messed up my orders about 3 times now. First time, they didn't secure the lid to the bowl of congee and it arrived all over the poor uber driver's car and in the delivery bag. Second time, they served us burnt congee that reeked of chemicals and had little burnt bits in it. Then this time, the congee is absolutely tasteless and they gave us the wrong soy sauce for the shrimp rice rolls. Shrimp rice rolls usually come with a sweet soy sauce, but they always pack you a whole sauce container of regular soy sauce that you won't realize until you pour it over the rice rolls. Sure they might be more reliable if you're dining there; but please don't even bother ordering take out or delivery. It's funny because every time i order congee, it's because I'm so severely hungover and sick and am so desperate for some comfort food. And every time without fail, they make the situation worst some how lol. Also every time we do call in to complain it always sounds like a teen kid that's working and is not helpful at all. Ugh.

With just the right amount of their house-seasoned soy sauce, it was perfection. The restaurant is small, and the dining room was completely full and buzzing with conversation. The AC was also extremely weak--to the point that it felt almost nonexistent. There were basically only two staff members serving the entire room, so while they weren't overly attentive, our water was refilled promptly and empty plates were cleared quickly. It was so loud that the waitress misheard our shrimp order, so we ended up waiting a little longer for the correct dish. However, it still arrived before the clay pot rice. We had already been warned that the clay pot rice takes more than 20 minutes to prepare, so it wasn't a problem. Overall, I really enjoyed dining here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for legitimate, fast-casual Cantonese food.
