This has quickly become one of my favorite places in town for a treat. You can really taste the difference with the high-quality ingredients--everything feels thoughtfully made and not overly sweet. The tea itself is smooth and flavorful, and most of the drinks already come with a topping, which I love because it feels like a complete drink without needing a bunch of add-ons. It's the kind of place I keep wanting to come back to when I'm craving bubble tea but want something a little more elevated and well balanced. Highly recommend if you appreciate quality and care in your drinks!

I would think that the 4 star is mostly because its a new tea place and there is the shiny appeal. Overall its ok. For milk tea there are better places like chi cha san or UG that recently opened. For fruit tea there's places like hey tea and yi fang. Which in my opinion does it much better. What is my critique? Well the tea feels watered down and the fruit seems to be stingy. I would love more tea taste or more fruit taste. What I do taste is more watery and artificial than I would like. The service was fine and the ambiance is clean and crisp. Overall there's just a lot that can be improved on.

Come here when you are craving something refreshing - their fruit teas are especially good - bright, fresh and well balanced. You can really taste the tea and fruit. Their boba also have great chewy texture, and the menu offers a good mix of classic milk teas and fruit teas. Service is quick, making it an easy stop to grab something to-go.

This is the third place I've been to that serves frappe tea lattes with the whip cream and pecans on top, the other two being Molly Tea (in the same city and almost vicinity as this place) and Chayan (in the U District). There's not much difference in the quality among them, which is to say I love the drinks I can get here. This could be the newer trend combatting - in my opinion - an imminently declining matcha craze in this state. I stopped by with a friend on a Friday night around 7:25pm after struggling to find parking nearby; you can usually find spots around the strip of 106th Ave NE just past Tapster, or along NE 2nd St. You're greeted by a pretty small cafe-like area that's clean, bright and a little noisy because of the drinks being prepared. They also sell pastries, which is pretty cool considering other places solely sell drinks. Throughout our visit, people kept coming in even when it was just 9 minutes before closing at 8pm and seating inside was almost full, so it's still gaining tons of traction even after several months of opening. Perhaps the time I went is more ideal given I've heard longer lines during peak hours. I got their osmanthus oolong tea latte at 30% sweetness and 50% ice as recommended by one of the servers at the front (15% sweetness recommended instead if you don't want it too sweet). Not too sweet, and the oolong tea flavors were really strong and floral here. Pecans added a nuttiness to the drink that I enjoyed, and it wasn't too heavy. Cup was on the smaller side though, and some of the flavors can be too strong for some tastes. I shared this drink with my friend, and he enjoyed it as well though I'm pretty sure neither of us got a good night's sleep after because of how strong their tea was. This is one of many drink places in competition with others around Bellevue, and I don't see myself coming here as often because of the wackier parking situations compared to near Downtown Bellevue Park or even around the UW Ave. Regardless, I loved my experience here and would consider taking others here if I'm around.

I'd give this a 4.5/5! I love the clean layout and aesthetic, it reminds me a lot of Molly tea. Service was quick and helpful, especially when I asked about the difference between the latte and salty foam drinks. I ordered the osmanthus oolong latte with light ice and 50% sugar. The drink is a little smaller than expected, but the tea flavor is the strongest I've had in a while! I love osmanthus, and the previous tea spots I've visited tend to be pretty light. This flavor tasted deep and refreshing, so I was pretty impressed. Though I wish the portion was a little bigger, I feel that the quality is worth the price!

3.5 rounded up. Waited 2 months after their opening to visit and there was still a pretty respectable line. When we arrived, the line almost went out the door. By the time we finished ordering, the line doubled and was literally outside. To my knowledge, no promotions were in place, so I'd say this spot is pretty popular. Parking is challenging as it's mainly street parking (though there are plazas nearby). Choo Tea seems to be one of those "premium" tea spots that have been trending recently with a focus on the frappe latte variants (tea with whipped cream). However, they do offer additional specialties and classic drinks which I appreciate. They have some appealing bakery items but the flavored pastries are a bit dry, so would skip. Black Sesame Basque Cheesecake - rich, creamy cake though the black sesame definitely covers any hint of cheesecake. Black sesame flavor was great though, so definitely recommend for black sesame lovers. A little small (looks bigger on the Creamy Milk Tea w/ Boba - honestly really good, great creaminess although too sweet. Black tea base that wasn't too strong because the creaminess is more of the emphsis (hence the name). A 30% sugar adjustment tasted like 70% so honestly not sure how their sweetness scale works. There were clear brown sugar drizzles on the side so I'd imagine 0% sugar is still on the sweeter end.

I've been to choo tea twice so far, so I can't say that I'm knowledgeable or have experienced many of their teas but the two I ordered weren't bad. The mango fruit tea was good; I got it at 30% sweet but could honestly go down to 10%. I also ordered their lychee oolong tea latte. I asked the server what the difference was between a tea latte and a milk tea and he didn't seem so sure. I tried it anyway, 30% sweet, iced. It tasted OK, a good lychee tea flavor. But with absolutely no ice, as you'll see in the picture. Extremely disappointing to not get any ice when you're expecting a refreshing iced drink. Also, the wait at both visits were horribly long and slow. They move at glacier speed.

Choo Tea is the newest boba spot to open in Bellevue, bringing a large menu of different tea beverages and some sweet treats. My colleague and I visited Choo Tea as it's walking distance from the office in downtown Bellevue and for their soft opening, it was pretty busy with patrons. There was a lot to choose from. My colleague ordered the coconut jasmine tea while I tried one of their handcrafted, specialty items, the matcha Oreo blend. When I attempted to order without sugar, they advised to have some sugar, so I ended up ordering it with 30%. It was a good amount too as it was not sweet, which I liked. I tasted more of the matcha and cream with the boba that came with. I'd be curious to try the other drinks offered here since the menu is large and you can customize the amount of ice and sugar in your drink. Although it's not my favorite spot or one I'd crave again, Choo Tea was solid. If I'm nearby the place, I'll check it out. But with how many boba spots there are in downtown Bellevue, I'd most likely only visit if it's close by.

Love the design of this place because it looks super neutral and modern. There is no parking that we could find. The employees were great and quick at what they do. I got a unsweetened oolong tea with salted cold foam. It was good with a strong tea base. I would come back. The desserts looks amazing too.

Taro and Purple Potato Milk: The taro and purple potato was tasty, I really enjoyed the texture. The taro ball was nicely chewy. You can't customize sweetness for this drink, and I wished this drink was a little less sweet. Lychee Oolong Tea with Salty Cream: This drink was great. The 30% sweetness was just right. The salty cream was a great complement to the tea, and tasted yummy when everything was mixed together. The lychee flavor was subtle, but you could still taste it. When we arrived at 1pm (opening time) on the weekend, there was already a line out the door. (Though it seems like they are slowly expanding their hours, since the last time we went, they opened at 12:30pm) It took a little less than half an hour from the time we started waiting in line until we got our drink. The inside had nice decor and was well lit from the big windows. There is indoor seating available, but might be full during peak hours.

Choo Tea is a great addition to all the Boba in the Bellevue area. It's a little bit hard to find parking since it is street parking. The interior is really nice. They sell a bunch of pastries as well and have a decent amount of seating. I would say it is on the pricier side for drinks since most of them start around $7. Staff: Nice (5/5) Sanitation status: Clean (5/5) Osmanthus Oolong Tea Latte (4/5) The tea flavor came out pretty good in this drink. I felt like it was on the spendier side because the cup is on the smaller side. The candied pecans on top are actually pretty good but I can see some people not wanting it. When I ordered this drink the staff told me I couldn't add any toppings to the drink so that was a surprise. Taro and Purple Potato Milk (4/5) This drink was good, It was pretty thick considering the amount of purple potato they put in it. You could taste the taro in the drink as well.

Very messy opening. No crowd control, no wait time estimates, no good handle on their inventory. Prices are insane too. Went on day 3 opening and they sold out of most teas by 5 pm. In addition to the 1 hour wait, the people in front of me got their teas sold out too, and were called back inside to change their order. It was loud and crowded with nowhere to sit, with people milling around with their drink tickets mixing with the confusing line for the register. I ended getting a refund for my drink and likely won't come back to check this place until 1 year later, if they survive that long ...

Newly opened milk tea place. currently soft opening, limited 2 tea per person. Great tea. Only have 50% and 100% for sweetness for the fresh tea series, but 50% is still too sweet for me. But the tea is great. Everything quite well, the taste, the service. Hope they could maintain high quality over the time!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #100…read more One hundred Seattle-Area boba shop reviews, in less than a year since moving to Washington. Yeah, I drink way too much boba... This is certainly the most unique Don't Yell At Me location, consisting of a little standalone building fully enclosed with floor to ceiling windows. The bobarista station is situated right in the center, and there are full walkways with seating surrounding the center in a circular pathway all around. While they don't have dedicated parking, there's limited street parking in front and free 30 minute retail parking in the Bellevue Tower Garage down the street. Traditional Milk Tea, Less Ice, 50% Sweet, Lactose Free Milk w/ Golden Honey Pearls ($6.85) -This drink has a pleasantly strong tea flavor. It's very nicely sweet (not from the sweetener) and has a robust earthy and herbal flavor that kind of tastes like liquid grass jelly. Quite pleasant, and stronger than what I remember receiving from other DYAM locations. Too bad the boba is mediocre. The pearls, small transparent golden balls, are sweetened well in honey, but are far too firm to give a great chew or bounce. Definitely undercooked, albeit not rock hard. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 Given the undercook on the golden honey pearls and the typically softer brown sugar pearls, I might have to opt for the latter in any future visit. Turns out it's a boba spot. Since we were already there, we decided to grab a snack and hang out for a bit. They've got Hong Kong-style egg waffles for about $5, plus an assortment of desserts like Japanese dessert sandwiches, egg tarts (a few looked a little on the "extra toasted" side), and boba tea in more variations than I could keep track of. If we'd been hungrier, we probably would've ordered more, but we settled on the egg waffle. The space itself feels almost like a bonus add-on to the building kind of a big kiosk and I saw the running supplies over from the building next door. There's a small seating area by the pickup window, but most people seemed to take their orders to go. Our waffle took a long while to come out, but when it did, it was perfectly baked warm, crisp on the outside and that perfect chewiness on the inside, ideal for snacking as we continued exploring the fair. If you're driving, parking nearby might be a bit of a mystery, but if you're already on foot around the Bellevue Galleria, it's worth stopping in for a boba or a quick treat.

It did not come automatically, and it also was not listed as an add-on option at the kiosk. So, if you want boba, order at the front counter instead with a representative. I wish that they clarified that upfront because the visuals were misleading. The staff was not interactive. They were focused on making drinks and keeping the space clean -- which is the bare minimum -- but it did not feel welcoming at all. There was also no clarity on when orders were ready. They would just place the drinks at the front and move on without calling out numbers, or confirming which order was what. It would help a lot if they announced the order number and drink name so that customers know when to step up. There is not much seating here either. The shop is tidy and had custom Seattle / Bellevue art on the wall, which was a nice local touch. There is a very small section of seating inside, but no tables, so most customers merely just pick up their tea and go. Macu specializes in dessert drinks which sound tempting and indulgent, but all of them are "fixed", so you need to order them as-is with no customizations to the sweetness and ice levels. Since I had just finished lunch, I wanted a lighter drink and noticed their Golden Leaf Tea is a "Macu Exclusive", so I knew I had to try it. It's described as a unique variety of Oolong. You can get the Golden Leaf Tea in just its plain brewed form, in a milk tea, or as part of their Chi-Chi series, which comes topped with cheese foam. + CHI-CHI GOLDEN LEAF TEA w/ 10% sweetness & light ice ($6.00): I feel perplexed by this drink. Despite not having much of a tea flavor, I endured a little caffeine buzz a couple hours later. I am not sure if the tea itself is supposed to be more mild in flavor, but I just couldn't sense its strength. However, the drink was crisp and refreshing, with the 10% sweetness level being perfect for my taste. The cheese foam was pretty light, smooth and not too salty. As I sipped it, the foam melded gradually with the tea and took over the flavor, making it slightly creamy too. One of my companions got the RUBY GRAPEFRUIT LI-LI TEA ($6.75 + $0.75 boba) and couldn't taste the tea either. It was very grapefruit-forward, including lots of pulp from the fruit. She said the boba was nicely cooked and lightly sweetened. We ordered at the kiosk and the staff called our number in just a few minutes. It didn't take long since they just had a couple mobile orders other than ours. I am willing to give Macu another chance, but was just let down since my tea seemed quite diluted compared to other Oolong teas I've ordered elsewhere. 3.25 stars.

To expand on my matcha critique, I found the color to be a little on the green-yellow side, which isn't the end all- be all quality indicator for matcha, but I find matcha lattes that are more rich in color tend to taste better and this tasted like a matcha drink I could make with costco matcha. I've made some decent lattes with costco matcha but once I switched to the more higher quality ones, well, it sorta refined my tastes. There isn't a lot of parking, and to be fair, a lot of people who are in downtown Bellevue are parked elsewhere else and likely just meander their way to the cafe. However, if you're coming in by car, I'd suggest parking by the apartments nearby, DO NOT park at the Chase Bank lot, even if the bank itself is closed (learned my lesson...). Overall, a 3.7-3.9. Could be better. Maybe with other additives like cold foam or strawberries, the drink is better, but I'm judging based off the basic latte.
