It was a hot day, and we thought we should get something to cool us down as we enjoy a nice walk around the park. Nana's Green Tea is a great place to get something to go or to stay in. They have drinks, soft serve and parfait options. We got the matcha swirl and the summer special Yuzu mochi cone. The service was quick; however, the matcha cone looked like it need a stronger base. It was literally almost falling over when we got it. The Yuzu cone was supposed to come with 3 mochis, but they only put 2. When I asked about it, the server quickly apologized and gave me 2 more. Unfortunately, one of the mochis promptly fell onto the floor as I was holding the cone. Other than that, we enjoyed our treat.
A unique cafe recommended to us that specializes in matcha and hojicha. They offered a pretty spacious area for indoor seating and seemed like a great place to study or do work. We tried the matcha espresso shot an onigiri which was a nice little treat. The staff were helpful in explaining the differences between the variations of drinks and we got a pager for our order. This place is definitely not your average coffee shop which is why we found it to be such a cool experience. The matcha espresso was very light in comparison to a normal shot but was tasteful. Prices were comparable to your local Starbucks. Would definitely come back to try something different next time!
NANA'S GREEN TEA @ BELLEVUE Parking is pretty easy here, there's a lot right next to the shop, and there's also free street parking. When I arrived around 8 PM on a Friday night, there were still a few spots open. If you see street parking first, I'd just take it. The walk isn't bad at all. My friends and I visited Nana's Green Tea after hearing about it nonstop on social media and from people we know. When we walked in, the place was packed, people everywhere and we had arrived around 8:30 PM, about 30 minutes before closing. By that time, they were only taking to-go orders, and all the bakery items were already sold out. They still had their full drink menu available, though. I ordered the matcha soft serve, and my friends tried a couple of the parfait-style drinks, one with cereal and one with horchata. Altogether, it came out to about $30. It's definitely on the pricier side. The soft serve came from a standard machine, and the matcha flavor wasn't anything special. For $8, it felt a bit overpriced, and I've had much better quality matcha elsewhere. As for the parfait, it was decent but very simple, whipped cream, three mochi pieces, and ice cream. The flavor was interesting, but again, not necessarily worth the price. The ambiance is nice, though. The space is modern, clean, and bright, with high tables and a really lively vibe. The only downside was the service, staff seemed rushed and pushed us to order quickly, which I understand since we came in close to closing, but it still felt a bit overwhelming. Overall, I don't think I'd come back. Nothing stood out enough to justify the price, and the flavors were pretty ordinary. But if you're a big matcha fan and you're already in the area, it might still be worth stopping by to try it for yourself.
Ok, so of all the Japanese icecream shops I've been to, Nana's Green tea has got to be my favorite so far! I Love All the flavors they offer. The Hojicha is my favorite! It has a strong roasted tea flavor, mmmm so Good! The Black sesame & Matcha icecream were so good too, with strong flavors of matcha and the Black sesame almost tasted like peanut butter. While here I also grabbed a bag of sencha & Hojicha tea. Whenever I'm in the area, I always make it a point to stop in for some ice cream or soft serve! Highly recommend!!
NANA'S GREEN TEA IN BELLEVUE~ What I ordered... {Matcha Warabimochi Parfait}: - The parfait had perfect sweetness (not too sweet). Matcha taste profile was nice too...pretty earthy. I really enjoyed the toppings included: matcha ice cream, whipped cream, red bean, warabi mochi, corn flakes, and matcha jellies. All of the toppings complement the parfait very well! Loved the corn flakes as it added a nice crunch and the warabi mochi too. The mochi was superrrr soft; tastes pretty authentic! This parfait is worth a try! {Strawberry Matcha Latte}; - I believe this drink is seasonal but I'd say it's skippable. I was highly anticipating the matcha in this drink to have the same earthy profile as the parfait but unfortunately it didn't. The drink tastes very milky/bland, and I don't think I'd be reordering this unfortunately. Ambiance wise, it's a very nice store inside and well-kept! Place is super clean/modern. This location, is definitely more accessible compared to the downtown Seattle location. Customer service has room for improvement...underwhelming...as the worker kept minimal interaction. However, because of the location and the parfait alone, I'd return and next time, hopefully the service is improved on :)
Consistent quality each time we come in. Delicious Japanese flavors, beautifully presented. We get parfaits each time, but I imagine you can't go wrong with other items. Staff were considerate and helpful with recommendations. Orders were fast. It is a little cramped, and can get busy at times, so plan accordingly as parking is sparse. Tables are also difficult to nab, so to-go might be more convenient depending on your party size and if you have kids.
I've been to Anna's many times but never tried the warobimochi parfait and babbyyyyyyyy I was missing out (their ice cream and lattes are great as well). But omg. Seriously this is one of the best things I've ever eaten. The wariobimochi is amazing, probably better than what I had in Japan multiple times. The matcha ice cream, superb as always. But the matcha on the botttom??? Wowowowow tantalizing and amazing! The matcha jellies at the bottom were fantastic too!! A bit too much corn flakes for me, but those were such a great addition too. I'm also not a red bean fan, but even this was fantastic I know people find this place basic among a sea of marchas in Seattle and Bellevue, but seriously, it's some of the best quality in the area!
The interior of this cafe is so earthy. There was a wooden beam structure that reminded me of a house. There was some seating but the area is quite compact. I was pleasantly surprised with the variety on the menu. I opted for a hojicha latte sweetened and with oat milk. The flavor was very rich and the roasted flavor really came through. I like that there were onigiris available along with pastries. Even though it appeared busy, I got my drink fairly quick. This is definitely a nice place to grab a quick drink and go!
Came here for dessert after dinner in old Bellevue. My friends convinced me to come here even though I'm not a big matcha fan. I got the matcha soft serve which I figured I'd give a chance just because it was something I hadn't seen before. Recommend getting it if you like matcha, not if you aren't a fan :) The service is good they added a self serve ordering kiosk which is convenient and makes the line move fast. Inside there's plenty of seating which is nice. Plenty of street parking always available in old Bellevue so no issues getting to the place.

Lots of people are studying or just enjoying their time there. Parking was difficult to find. There is only street parking, but the walk isn't bad. We ended up getting a couple of pastries (about $6-7 each), which were all so good. I definitely want to try the drinks next time. Since this place specializes in matcha/green tea items, I would recommend those items. I like that they describe the differences between all of the different kinds of matcha/hojicha on their menu. It shows that they did their research beforehand and presented it in a way that someone new to matcha/hojicha could easily understand. They have lots of options like red bean and sesame options too.
Great sweet potato seasonal dessert options and it was BOGO but they always run out of stuff which was a bummer. Still got to try the cake roll and drink though and my friend got like the last tart. Fav was the roll because it wasn't too sweet, they put waaay too much ice in the drinks but the flavor was alright. My advice to them would really be the next time you guys have a promo please factor in making more quantities because ppl will definitely be coming! The line was long and the place was Busy!,
Visited Nana's Green tea Bellevue location on a Thursday because they were doing a BOGO promo for their sweet potato items. I went on a Thursday at around 3pm. 3 out of 5 items are already sold out. With that said, I could only order the remaining 2 available items. Food/ beverage: The sweet potato ice cream was sweeter than my usual taste, same applies to the sweet potato latte. I almost feel like it was so sweet that covered the sweet potato flavor. There's no food offer at this location, unlike the Seattle store. There were some pastries in the fridge and small rice snack on the shelf. I really wish they offered food at this location. Service: Order at the counter, find your own seat, and pick up when it's available style. Staff were friendly to explain the ingredients of the beverage. But not much beyond that. I think this place is more known for green tea instead of sweet potato. So if I were to come back, I will only get green tea item.
Recently the quality of the drinks has gone down. I love the matcha from here and the frappes are so good! But recently over the last few months, there have either been ice chunks in my drink or I literally have to chew my drink due to it not being blended. It's quite busy and the parking situation is very difficult. They have gotten popular but the employees might be too focused on quantity over quality.
This location is less homey and warm like the one in SLU but nonetheless the matcha selections and taste are stellar. I'd also like to note that unlike the other location this location does not carry hot plated food My all time favorite thing to eat here is the sesame croissant and matcha tiramisu. My favorite drink of choice is not on the menu but custom ordered. It's a matcha latte float but instead of a vanilla soft serve I replace it with a matcha soft serve. It costs a dollar more but way cheaper than if you ordered them separately. The service here is always fast and friendly and most of the time pretty clean. Weekday afternoons are best for no line. Weekends should be avoided as the line gets pretty ridiculous and super hard to find a place to sit. read more

Tried two matcha drinks from Nana's Green Tea and both were seriously refreshing and well-balanced. The matcha soda with soft serve was the surprise favorite -- crisp, lightly sparkling, and not overly sweet. The soft serve melted into the drink perfectly and made it extra creamy without overpowering the matcha flavor. The matcha frappe with soft serve was richer and smoother, with a stronger creamy texture and a nice earthy matcha flavor. Friendly staffs. No more parking validation. read more

It's been a while since I been back here and it's still pretty good. I still need to try their ice cream and parfait items but I never had the opportunity since I'm always just by myself grabbing pastries for my family:) I came around 11 and it wasn't busy. It was pretty quiet. The people are nice and told me where to grab napkins and utensils. This time around, I grab the black sesame croissant, the sweet potato roll cake, the matcha cream puff, the tomato croissant and a chicken onigiri. The black sesame still taste delicious as before and the chicken onigiri was decent. The roll cake was soft and delicious. My husband love the tomato croissant. The matcha cream puff was just eh. I had better. The crust outside wasnt crisp and the cream inside was a little too thin Overall though, I would come back again. I do wish they make more flavors croissants. read more
I'm probably spoiled by the matcha options in the Bay but I just thought Nana was very mid. I got the seasonal yuzu black tea parfait. It would've been cool if the soft serve part was actly black tea or yuzu but it was vanilla. The jello was actly unpleasant. It was just bland with a slight bitterness. I've had jelly toppings before such as oolong and black/green tea that tastes much better. We got a hot matcha cup with whip cream which was nothing special. It was lacking that deeper flavor of matcha. & We also got ginger hojicha, this was actly not bad - you can taste both a blend of both flavors as the name promises. Very difficult to find parking and a small place - can be difficult to find seating. & The tables were sticky not just in one spot, the whole thing. Really wanted to like this placed based on past reviews. Unfortunately, this was a miss for me. Matcha Latte was 3/5. It was pretty milky and just okay. Coconut croissant: it was honestly the star of the show. I loved this. It was a bit heavy due to all the cream. We had a young lady helping us and she didn't seem to be in the best mood. One of the best matcha places in Bellevue! The matcha float is one of my favorite drinks to get. The prices might be on the higher end for some drinks, but for the quantity you get and the flavor, it's worth it. The parfaits are definitely the most popular item, but I'd say don't skip out on the soft serve. That's probably my go to when I visit. The ice cream and soft serve are super stretchy and very full of flavor. The interior is a bit small, and the line can get out the door sometimes, but wait time is usually less than 10 minutes with quick service. Also, I know this is a green tea centered cafe, but as a black sesame lover, they have some incredible black sesame desserts! They are packed with tons of nutty toasted black sesame. You can also get just scoops of their black sesame ice cream, which is equally just as incredible. Cannot recommend this place enough! read more
This review is for their matcha soft serve: I'm not sure what their matcha drinks are like, but their soft serve was pretty solid. Super creamy and earthy. I usually opt for ice cream in a cup but I really enjoyed their waffle cone because it was complimentary and very crunchy and well made. Would come again to try the parfait and other items! There's lots of seating and Wi-Fi available inside. The staff were very helpful at the front and the entire ambience is pretty peaceful, which makes it a great place to study in downtown Bellevue or meet up with friends and have a conversation. read more
Me and my childhood friend wanted to try this place out and it was both our first time, and overall it's so good! I was very surprised when I entered in because it was actually pretty spacious. I love their selections for matcha drinks and pastries, as someone who has started liking matcha maybe like 2 years ago so I'm still somewhat new to the scene but wow wow. The service was really fast and the ladies are really sweet and if you dine in they'll bring you your order! Overall will come again and maybe will check out their Seattle location! read more
Love the soft serves from here. Anyone who love matcha; Nanas is a must. The tea flavors are strong and very fragrant. The service was quick and surprisingly there was no line on Monday afternoons. My personal favorite is the black sesame scoop and a vanilla soft serve put together. The black sesame icecream taste exactly like black sesame soup; very rich in flavors but can be a bit strong. read more
Omg I'm in love with this matcha spot! I came to visit Bellevue for the weekend and wanted to get matcha here and saw this place and wanted to try it out. The place is really cute and people can work and chill with friends here. The servers here are so nice and helpful too. I ordered the matcha mocha parfait and the matcha roll and it was so good! NO PARKING VALIDATION If you want to swing in here for a tea or some ice cream and get your parking validated, don't bother. You'll end up paying for both the parking and your food/drink. They won't validate the parking anymore. There really should be a very obvious sign outside and/or at the register to let customers know they won't validate the parking. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the ice cream was not bad. I didn't really want it that badly, but it's not bad. read more
Came here for a treat after spending the afternoon at the Bellevue park nearby and grabbed an ice matcha latte. Many friends in Seattle recommended this dessert chain and while I wanted to try the parfaits I settled on a matcha latte for something lighter. Really loved how strong the matcha flavor is! There's definitely more matcha powder to milk compared to other matcha shops and this definitely got me caffeinated for the day. This location is small but has a few tables so you could stay for a while. Will definitely be back to try the parfaits! read more
Never would have thought Nana's Green Tea would be serving really good soft serve ice cream, albeit only in matcha flavor. If you like matcha, this is the place to go. I don't know much about matcha, so we took our daughter's advice when she recommended coming here for ice cream as dessert. It was quite busy, with a mix of customers ordering various teas and others doing work in a coffee house environment. My wife and I shared a soft serve matcha with red bean and mochi ($8.25) in a waffle cone: it was the perfect amount for two in a really good waffle cone. I really liked the matcha flavor in the ice cream, and the soft serve was really good quality: creamy and dense. read more
BEST MATCHA/ASIAN ICE CREAM SUNDAE IVE HAD EVER. im from the bay so that says something, so sad they don't have it back home. fairly priced, $13 parfait (warambi mochi, hojicha jelly w syrup, white ice snow, corn flake, scoop of bean paste, whip cream, scoop of hojicha ice cream), shared among 2 ppl. we also got the matcha cone, soft serve is $6, ice cream cup is $5 and cone is not extra charge. high quality ceremonial quality, thick + creamy. id be here every weekend if i lived in seattle. plentiful seating inside, parking hard to find. nice outdoor seating too. read more
Overall: Nana's Green Tea has a lot of options to order from, there will be something that you like on that menu. The parfait balanced textures well and had strong overall cohesion. Food: The parfait was solid, but in all honesty, the green tea wasn't very pronounced. For a place that specializes in green tea, you would think that the green tea flavor is strong. For a place with "Green Tea" in the name, you would expect a 5 star rating on the matcha. Although it wasn't the worst I've had- it was very disappointing to say the least. As someone who drinks matcha religiously, the matcha latte here tasted like sweet grass. The soft serve was actually better but you would think the matcha latte would be the star. The service was also terrible. The girl working the register honestly ruined the experience before it even started. 4.5 stars. Nana's is a must for matcha lovers! If you love matcha you have to try this place at least twice... I always have a great experience here and my latest experience here was amazing!!! The matcha croissant is soooo delicious! :) Parking can be difficult sometimes but I usually don't have a problem with people coming and going in the nearby businesses. I find free street parking quickly. Reading other reviews it seems they may validate garage parking? I'll have to ask about that the next time I visit, so not sure. The store is so beautiful and so relaxing to me even when busy. I really enjoy the atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and extremely nice even when busy! The only thing I've had that is inconsistent here is the matcha chocolate iced latte...as no chocolate was detected. And the price of the parfaits is a bit high in my opinion. These are the two reasons I drop my rating by .5 stars. However I've been here so many times now and loveeee this place! I still need to visit the Seattle location. I've tried the frapps, lattes, soft serve, and pastries now and so far my favorite thing I've tried has been the matcha croissant! The croissants are huge and cost $6.50 which I was satisfied with. I tried both the matcha and black sesame. Both sooo delightful. Croissant was perfectly soft and flaky with the delicious cream inside and glazing on top. Soft serve is rich in flavor and the waffle cone adds a sweet crunch! I have stopped by with my boyfriend here multiple times, brought my friend here so she could try Nana's for the first time as she loves matcha, and I've stopped by many times so you could say.... I LOVE NANA'S GREEN TEA!! So happy that there's one super close to the bellevue offices. I went here after work with my friend and it was kind of small compared to the downtown seattle or nyc location. The service is typical, you order at the front and they bring it to you at your table. You have to put up your dishes and trash up yourself. The matcha mochi parfait always hits and is shareable in my opinion with another person. The matcha flavor is really good compared to other places! Love all the combinations of red bean, matcha jelly, mochi, corn flakes, vanilla ice cream! Nana's has become a go-to for me. The drinks and treats are always consistent so you know what to expect. Their offerings are on the sweeter side but not sickeningly sweet. The parfaits are a must and can easily be shared. Big fan of their hojicha drinks but their matcha (iced) is nice too. It can be hard to find seating, and a clean table at that. You'll also have to bus your own dishes. Besides the constant busyness, sometimes not-so-clean tables, and having to bus your own tables, the smooth drinks and well-balanced parfaits will keep me coming back. read more
Nana's Green Tea is a matcha lover's heaven! I was so excited when they opened on the Eastside a few years back so that I don't have to trek out to SLU anymore! It is my favorite place in Bellevue by far. And if you don't like matcha, they also have plenty of hojicha and black sesame options too! No matter what you order, their desserts never disappoint. My favorite items are the... MATCHA SOFT SERVE LATTE - vanilla soft serve in an iced latte. Basically a matcha affogato, but with a higher matcha to ice cream ratio. You can choose from three types of matcha for the latte base: Kyoto (mellow umami taste), Shizuoka (strong and smooth), and Mie (sweet, slight astringency, but clean aftertaste). Substitute matcha soft serve for $1 more. MATCHA SOFT SERVE ($7) - rich and vibrant green soft serve in a cup or waffle cone. You can really taste the matcha and they give you a lot! You can also order with mochi anbd red bean paste (+$1.25), chocolate cake (+$1.75), or my favorite, warabi mochi (mochi made from brackenstarch that is less chewy and dense than your typical mochi) (+$1.25). BLACK SESAME ICE CREAM ($5 per scoop or $12.75 per pint) - super potent and honestly better than their matcha hard serve in my opinion. Their ice cream is made by Olympia Ice Cream company. Note that they only serve black sesame hard serve ice cream (they unfortunately do not offer black sesame soft serve). MATCHA WARABIMOCHI PARFAIT ($12.50) - an Instaworthy dessert that looks like you got it in Japan! It comes with vanilla soft serve, matcha pudding jelly, corn flakes, and matcha hard serve. Similar to the matcha soft serve, you can order it with mochi and red bean paste. It's very big and filling and so I recommend sharing it with a friend! You can also substitute matcha soft serve for $1 more. The hojicha and black sesame parfaits are the same as the matcha parfaits, except they contain hojicha and black sesame hard serve and pudding respectively. Note that service can be slow as they are usually very busy, especially during the weekends. There is a kiosk to order to go orders, but you can also order at the register. Their interior is very modern and they have limited indoor seating. If you can't snag a seat indoors, you can take your dessert to go to enjoy at Downtown Bellevue Park which is only a 2-3 minute walk away. TIPS: - The Bellevue location has a shared parking lot (Venn). If you buy something at Nana's, you can get your ticket validated. Otherwise, you can park on the street or at the park. - The Bellevue location does NOT have hot food like the Seattle location. However, they do offer onigiri (rice balls) for about $5 each (limited quantities) - The Bellevue location does not have reward points. Only the SLU location does. The space was nice and clean, I would consider bringing my laptop and working there. Do they allow dogs inside if we choose to dine in? If not, can we bring our pup in to order then leave after we pick up our to go items?
Unsure if they do. But if they do it can get quite crowded and loud in there. A dog could get anxiety.
Are there savory foods at this location?
No there is not. I heard there is no kitchen at this location so doesn't sound like there will be future plans either. All the pastries are made at the Seattle location.
