Matcha and milk swirl with shiratama kuromitsu kinako in a waffle cone
    Vivien L.

Indigo Cow is one of the few dessert places in Bellevue open after 9 on weekdays (we visited on a Tuesday), so my friends and I stopped by for a sweet treat! I tried their seasonal yaki-imo (sweet potato) brulee soft serve and it was yummy. It wasn't too sweet and It would be nice to have this as a permanent menu item! My friend had the matcha Hokkaido milk swirl with mochi and she enjoyed it! I'll be back to try another new seasonal menu item.

Came here on our most recent visit to Seattle. I do think it's worth trying out once, but I don't know if I will be back because there is so much other good soft serve in the area that actually tastes creamier. We got to regular milk soft serve with Hojicha syrup. I really liked that the Hojicha syrup was strong and complemented the soft serve well. Because of all the hype surrounding it, I was expecting the soft serve to be *extra* creamy and smooth which it unfortunately did not live up to my expectation. Parking in this area can be a little challenging to find during busy hours.

First time trying Indigo Cow and it was a little confusing as to where the shop was located. It is located inside of The Whale Tea right when you first walk inside. So, there are two separate counters: one for The Whale Tea and Indigo Cow. There are also two separate self-ordering kiosks for the two spots. You need to walk straight ahead to get to the self-ordering kiosks, or you can just order at the counters with the staff members. So, the layout is a little funky to me. Other than that, the shop is spacious for what it is. There is even shared outdoor seating. The menu is quite limited at Indigo Cow, which can be a pro and a con. It makes your choices less overwhelming at least! My boyfriend and I decided to do the swirl (Hokkaido Milk and Hōjicha) soft serve ice cream in the waffle cone with the Theo Dark Chocolate wall as the topping. The soft serve is good, but I think the flavors aren't that distinctive. I could hardly taste a difference between the two flavors.

New location in Bellevue! Came here for the soft serve, it did not disappoint. You order at the front and they hand you your soft serve shortly after. The inside was cozy and had plenty of booth seating. I just traveled to Japan and the Hokkaido Milk soft serve tastes just like it did in Japan. Adding some local Theo dark chocolate made it an extra tasty treat. There are currently only 2 soft serve flavor options: Hokkaido Milk and Ceremonial Matcha.

I would give Indigo Cow a 2.5/5. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. The lady at the counter was unwelcoming and not very pleasant, I was unsure what to order and she seemed like she was getting really impatient even though we were the only ones in line. It's really expensive. We paid $19 for my matcha soft serve + waffle cone + the MBR and a creme brulee soft serve. Both smalls. I understand you pay a higher price for the quality of ingredients but I think some things could have easily been better. Like, the waffle cone was soooo subpar like it was so thin that my soft serve kept melting through the tiny cracks. Also maybe I came at the wrong time but my mochi was a bit harder than I was expecting. The creme brûlée was also okay but nothing special. This place just seems a little sad. Maybe its the grumpy cashier or the dying thirsty plants on the walls but on the bright side, I really enjoyed my matcha soft serve, it had a great matcha flavor. But for the price, I think I'll go to a different matcha spot.

Located inside of Whale Tea- shared space. Register is first one on right as you enter. *Size large hakkaido milk with MBR ( mochi, brown sugar syrup and roasted soybean powder) $8.31 after taxes. Flavor was creamy and good. Toppings were good, mochi soft. Service was good- I went back to ask for more brown sugar syrup and they hooked me up. Value- I can't go over inflammation so it felt expensive. Recommend- if you're in the area, and want a delicious soft serve treat- YES! Bonus- since it's inside of whale tea- we got boba tea too. So many sugar options.

Excited to finally try this soft serve spot! It's been on my list for a really long time and the Bellevue location is super cute. They share a space with Whale Tea and it's located near a little parking lot. The inside has booth and plenty of seating to enjoy your drink or ice cream with friends. I got their vanilla soft serve and added their Halloween special for $2 more. The Halloween special came with a strawberry and pumpkin sauce which tasted amazing and had some fun little Halloween sprinkles and spooky decor. My husband got the mochi, brown sugar, and kinako powder on top of his vanilla soft serve and that was super tasty! Highly recommend this spot! It's probably our favorite soft serve in the Seattle area!

My family and I visited the Indigo Cow in Wallingford during COVID when it was a walk-up window. We enjoyed it when we first tasted it and then saw that they had opened in Bellevue so we decided to try it out. It is located inside The Whale Tea Boba Shop and has its own counter right at the front door on the right when you first walk in. There aren't many choices when it comes to the menu. Only 3 flavors: hojicha, Hokkaido milk or swirl and then it's in either cup or cone. They have some toppings and we chose the injeolmi powder which is fine soybean powder. It was tasty, just as I remembered from our first visit. Parking is very tight here: mostly off street.

My first introduction to Indigo Cow was to the location in downtown Seattle and although it was expensive, the quality truly impressed me as it was the closest to Hokkaido soft serve you could probably get out here. Thus, I was super excited to find a new location in Bellevue had opened with indoor seating! Unfortunately, this location provides a severely subpar experience. The milk soft serve didn't taste very creamy and that might have been because it was so completely freezer burned; it was to the point that you could feel the ice crystals with every bite. The dark chocolate wall was really nice quality chocolate and the waffle cone was solid, but I walked away from the experience with soft serve that was worse than McDonald's and 5-6 times the price. The store was at 50% capacity on a late Sunday afternoon and parking appears to mostly be along the street.

The Indigo Cow is also combined with Whale Tea! We ordered the yaki-imo brulee soft serve and the swirl. I think the ice cream texture is lighter and less creamy than other ice creams. The matcha flavor was present without being overwhelming and the hokkaido milk is lightly sweet and creamy. I really liked the yaki-imo brulee topping because the sweet potato goes really well with the hokkaido milk ice cream and the brulee portion gave it crunch and a hint of smokiness. There is wifi and a couple of cute couches in the store, and the whale decor is very cute

(Small) Hokkaido Milk Soft Serve with M.B.R. topping

An amazing soft serve experience! I'm so glad they opened a new location in Bellevue (sharing a space with The Whale Tea). The ordering process is extremely simple as they have a small menu. The soft serve is assembled quickly as well. Hokkaido Milk Soft Serve with M.B.R. Topping: The small size was enough for one person. The Hokkaido milk flavor was creamy and subtle, and the soft serve texture was very smooth. The M.B.R. topping was absolutely delicious! The flavors were amazing and the mochi was a good amount of chewiness. However, given the subtlety of the existing flavors, it would have been nice for the mochi to have some flavor cooked with it.

We stopped by Indigo Cow in Seattle and tried the yaki-imo brulee soft serve and matcha soft serve in a cone. The yaki-imo was hands down amazing--I couldn't resist taking it from my fiancé! The warm, slightly hardened brûlée top combined with the cold, creamy soft serve created a perfect balance. This was one of the best desserts I had on my trip, and I'll definitely be back for more. Highly recommend if you're in Seattle and looking for something unique and delicious!

We have been looking for soft serve places and finally tried Indigo Cow. We got the Hokkaido Milk and Ceremonial Matcha combo with dark chocolate. We got there close to closing time and they didn't have a lot of the dark chocolate sauce left (we could only get it on one serving, not on the 2nd one). I like the Hokkaido Milk soft serve, the Ceremonial Match not so much (I am not a fan of matcha).
