Came here on a weekday evening and it was pretty busy--the indoor seating was full, but we were able to find a couple of seats outside. I ordered the strawberry cream soufflé pancakes and they were delicious! The pancakes were incredibly soft, airy, and fluffy, and the strawberry cream complemented them really well. I especially liked that they weren't overly sweet, so the whole dish felt light despite being a dessert. Definitely a lovely spot for soufflé pancakes, and I'd happily come back to try more from the menu! read more

We were in Redmond for the weekend and wanted to try this place. It was on our radar for some time and glad we stopped. I am also glad we didn't make a trip all the way up to Redmond just for this like we had talked about. While it's good, it's very pricey, and would not be worth an hour drive. I would totally go if it was near the house. I did the egg crepe (omlette) which was very good. Loved the mushrooms in it and overall great flavor. The pancake was good and not sweet, which you would assume from looking at it. It's a very small place, so if you go during busy times, good luck with having a place to sit. And you order on a computer. Yes staff bring you the food but the machine was very insistent on you providing a tip. Pay your staff better if that's required. If you are in the area, give it a try. It's always nice to find a good matcha place closer to the Eastside than always going to Seattle, and I'm glad to have finally tried The Screaming Parrots Cafe. Although the space is a bit small, it is decorated beautifully with parrot themed artwork. You can park in the garage behind the cafe and get it validated here. I ordered the Shakshuka Crepe and Mango Hojicha to eat and drink there. The Shakshuka Crepe was good but it was missing some of the herbs. It would've been nice if the batter was fully crepe instead of mostly egg too. The big wonder of going to Screaming Parrots was the Mango Hojicha. It was rich and sweet but not too sweet for my liking. They do the Hojicha well and hopefully the matcha. It is such a cute spot to either study or chill at although they say to stay at a limit of 90 minutes due to limited seating space. read more

What an adorable café right in the center of Redmond! There's ample street parking nearby which was surprisingly simple to find. Ambience is great -- though there's not that many tables, if you do manage a snag one, it's a great place to do some work or hang out with a friend. We were in the area and decided to try this cafe. We just tried the Strawberry Banana Cream Souffle and it was alright. It is a bit expensive for what we got. Definitely no comparison to the one we had in Japan or Thailand. There was a bit of a wait and the place was pretty small. Heard we finally had Japanese souffle pancakes on the east side, at Screaming Parrots Cafe so I had to check them out. Not sure why this place is called screaming. Parrots says there's no parrots inside but actually that's a good thing cuz parents can be pretty noisy. On to the souffle pancakes. I ordered the banana and strawberry one. I got here at about 6:00 p.m. and the place was fairly empty. I guess most folks are still at dinner. They were just finished making a new batch of the souffle batter and whipped cream as I arrived. The pancake shack was eyeing the 6 customers line and she made eight at a time anticipating the orders. Mine came out pretty quick. Very large size; you get two per order. Cover with lots of whipped cream and strawberries and bananas. This will basically be my dinner, LOL! So how do they taste? Well they were like a sponge cake, rather than a souffle. They did not have have the same lightness and jiggle, as the ones you would get from the Grams Cafe that you find in major cities across Asia. I also think that the dessert cafes in the San Gabriel valley in California make better ones. I also noticed on the menu that you can order them with either strawberry puree or mango puree. That may actually be better is then you can take the souffle pancake and swap it in the puree. Well if you never had these before I would come here and try them. I'm a super fan of Japanese souffle pancakes so when I saw that this cafe had them, I beelined over to try these! We came on a weekday morning, and made it there about 5 minutes before they officially opened. There was a pretty large line gathering already, but we were maybe about 5 parties from the front. So I would recommend getting there even earlier. The pancakes were legit! Yummy just like they were in Japan, but it does take a while to make these. So even though we were pretty far up in line, it was prob about 45 mins after we ordered before we got our pancakes. It was fine with us because I know they are still relatively new. It's just something to keep in mind! Oh and if you're a fan of strawberries and trying to decide on the strawberry or strawberry banana pancakes, get the strawberry because it comes with a lot of muddled strawberries/strawberry sauce at the bottom as you can see in my photo. The strawberry banana ones were more actual sliced strawberries and bananas, so it didn't have this amazing sauce to accompany your pancakes! read more

Cute little coffee shop with an amazing variety of drinks. Self order at the front. I got the hojicha banana bread pudding latte. All I can say it was one of the best quality hojicha I've ever tasted. The drink itself wasn't too sweet but the banana bread pudding.. that was exquisite. It had real bananas and it was perfectly sweet. It was a great combination with the hojicha! I will DEFINITELY come back and have that drink and maybe one of their desserts My roomie got the matcha Einspanner and it also tasted like great quality matcha. Updating my review! I came here on a weekend, and it was so popular, there was a line out the door. You could tell they were busy but the staff were all working hard to get everyone's orders as quickly as possible, without compromising the quality of the beverages and food. Cute cafe by Redmond town center! Went around 3:10pm on a Sunday and there was already a big line out the door (they open at 3pm)- didn't realize they were so popular. I would recommend the restaurant puts clear signs and ask everyone to order online as they need all the staff to work in the kitchen, as the food does take time to prepare as everything is being made fresh. I was in town for an event and came here to grab tea and read. They have about 9 tables that are close together. There's some free 2hr parking nearby! You order at the kiosk and they bring your food/drink out to you. Da hong pao cloud: I got the less sweet option and it was closer to a 25% sweet you get at other tea shops. So if you still want sweetness, get regular sweet. The cloud part also didn't have any flavor or salt or sugar, it was straight up foamy dairy. I really really enjoyed the matcha and strawberry crepe! It was filled with matcha cream, strawberries, whipped cream, and dusted with matcha powder. My matcha einspanner latte and matcha crepe were both rich and creamy. I got the large matcha einspanner which wasn't too sweet or milky. I would definitely visit after work, but I'm terrible at driving. I wanted to try one of their cheapest drinks. I forgot the price of my cake. I thought the tea drink was a bit lacking in flavor, but that is my own fault for just randomly picking a drink. I came back to the counter and ordered a different drink. Latte with foam, much much much tastier than my tea. I think my drink came out close to $11 with tip. I've been eyeing this cafe for a few months. My friends and I were in the neighborhood, so I decided we go try. I had the iced matcha strawberry latte. Matcha latte was quite nice! I also thought the drink was overpriced - it came to be a little more than $9. That price point is starting to become a norm everywhere unfortunately, but that's still pushing it. I was oh so curious about the creme brûlée crepe, but I was too full from KBBQ that afternoon, so I passed it up this time. Next time! Service was quite attentive for a coffee shop and I was pleasantly surprised. My friend's order was given to another person with the same name by mistake, and the barista brought her drink along with a complimentary onigiri on the house to make amends. I've never seen baristas act so nicely, so I was impressed. The coffee shop managed to squeeze in surprisingly many seats for the small space. It is kind of crowded but once you move around the tables, it's possible to sit comfortably. There are very clean two gender neutral bathrooms. I wasn't too impressed by the aesthetics IRL, compared to what I saw on social media, but I would like to return here to try their other food. read more

When I think souffle, I think of a fat and fluffy pancake, not something that is matted down and soggy. It was not airy at all. Original Slice Basque: This was pretty good, dense and creamy with a slight tang. However, the price point of $8.50 was high for something so simple. We drove an hour from lake Stevens for their soufflé pancakes. We arrive and there are only 3 people ahead of us but it takes about 15 - 20 minutes to get through everyone. There is only one screen to order and no menu to look at while we're waiting. We order and look for 5 minutes for the soufflé pancake. We ended up ordering something else because we can't find it. We are waiting for our order and a staff walks by and we ask about it and we find out they run out. Aww I get a bit disappointed about visiting them. I was so excited because I wanted to try everything they had. But it just wasn't for me. Amazing find! My friend and I were looking for a place to work remotely, and stumbled across this one when we heard they sell matcha, which is something we both love. We decided to share the banana pudding as a treat and I will say that was one of the best desserts I have had in a long time. You could tell they use real bananas and it wasnt overly sweet. If anyone has ever had the famous Magnolia banana pudding, I might argue that this one is better! We also shared the blueberry matcha with oatmilk. The matcha taste was surprisingly good. It was strong, but not bitter. However, I would have enjoyed the blueberry taste to have been stronger. It seems like they use real blue berries, which was great since it added texture like boba, but the taste of the berries was very faint. I would have enjoyed it more if it was supplemented with some type of syrup to enhance the blueberry taste while drinking the matcha. The tuna onigiri was a great snack too! It had a decent amount of filling thankfully! Overall, this might be my favorite matcha shop outside of the Seattle area! I will definitely plan to return next time I am in the area. I really wanted to love this cafe- and I think the menu items are all unique and great to try. The price for some items, however, is a little high for my preference. I got a hojicha latte and pistachio crepe- the food and drinks came fairly quickly, around 10-15 min max. I appreciate that the server gave us two sets of utensils when they noticed my friend and I were sharing the crepe. My hojicha latte came already mixed, and the flavor was strong and not too sweet. I wasn't very impressed by the drink, because the texture wasn't thick or creamy. I know a latte is milk-based, so my knowledge of a good tea-latte is lacking, and this is just how the drink should be. Maybe it is texturally better hot than cold. The pistachio crepe was delicious, the presentation is beautiful and the portion is plenty for two people. The flavor isn't overly sweet, and I love that there's a generous variety of nuts, cream, and banana slices. Overall, I'm not very impressed by my drink choice and I'm hesitant to buy another. First time visiting this location for their matcha, took a rain check on food this time but after looking at them preparing everything, definitely need to go back and try their stuff. I will say it was definitely very busy today, and understandably so due to all of their trendy items circulating on social media. However, I did wait about 30 minutes for a singular matcha, which I felt was a pretty long time. The reason why I'm not docking points was because the staff was receptive of this and very accommodating. Without even mentioning the wait, I was given a free onigiri for waiting which was so sweet. Not sure if it was the GM or owner sine they were running around everywhere, but it was very kind of them to do that. I did see only one person (with their help) was making drinks also, and everyone was working very hard in the kitchen. Not sure if they would possibly benefit from having a second person on drinks as the space to prep everything is pretty tight, but just something I thought about! The ceremonial matcha itself was very good, very strong. Not milked down at all, and a nice earthy profile. I would definitely come here to grab a matcha instead of other matcha shops around the area (on a day that I have time to spare granted haha). They have so many different alterations to it that I also want to try. Some items on my wishlist are any of their soufflé pancakes and/or basque items!! 4.5 I am so glad a late-night dessert cafe has finally opened in Redmond! We don't have many coffee spots that stay open late, let alone ones that serve delicious desserts. The staff is incredibly hardworking and was hustling to get a variety of treats out to everyone. We tried the crepes and they were so good, just as the drinks were! The vanilla latte was especially smooth and a total dream to sip on. What's really exciting is that this place offers a unique mix of crepes and Japanese soufflé pancakes, which are actually pretty hard to find in WA! Since it's a brand new spot, they're still ironing out a few details--totally expected--and I'll share a few little things that could make it a five-star experience next time: The ordering system could use a bit of tweaking. Part of our order (the crepes) got missed. After 30 minutes, we asked about it and the staff was so apologetic, jumping right into action to make it. The owner even came over and offered a free item as an apology, which wasn't needed, but shows how much they care. The lighting was a tad dim, probably due to the high ceilings. Maybe lowering the lamps or going with brighter ones could help set a cozier vibe. A numbering system for orders might be helpful! The counter is a bit far from the tables, so it could make it easier for people to keep track of their orders. Overall, this place is a total gem, and I'm definitely coming back! This is another place I've been seeing on my IG feeds, and I decided to come here on a Sunday night around 8:30pm. It's surprisingly not too far of a drive from Mox in Bel-Red, and I've been hearing about how happy everyone is that this place closes at 11pm, a rarity for most dessert places even in the greater Seattle area. You'll need to use street parking, which was oddly easier to find than I thought. It's cozy as hell inside, with bright lights and a nice decor of parrot photos and artwork near some of the tables. You could easily do some work or read a book here, as some patrons were doing when I walked in. As for ordering, you place your orders on a kiosk near the front, where a bunch of pastries are kept behind glass. If you're tempted to order more or wanna stop looking at computer screens for a brief 10 seconds, there's some laminated paper menus at the front to look at instead. For this visit, I went basic and got their blueberry matcha latte as I didn't want to be too full. It's a great blend of ceremonial-grade matcha, milk and... whole blueberries! I didn't realize until I tried getting them through my boba straw. I used that and a spoon to eat the blueberries inside. There was definitely still a puree but the fact that it had actual blueberries inside was actually pretty cool even though I did struggle to get them out the cup. While that was happening, I could literally imagine a parrot in my peripheral screaming, "Get their Basque cheesecake! It's good!" Or it was my mind playing with me because of how relaxed I felt.
