Pretty exciting to see a Vietnamese coffee place pop up in the factoria area! There are so many tempting options but as a first I wanted to try their signature Phin & Fire. This is their Vietnamese coffee topped with what they call "Fire Coffee Cloud" I asked if they put condensed milk into the cream but they didn't know what is in it because it's a "secret" recipe. With 50% sweetness this tasted perfect. It's sweet but not overly sweet where I feel like crap afterwards. The vietnamese coffee is strong with a slight beautiful viet coffee bitterness aftertaste. This is a very delicious and strong coffee and exactly what I need as a pick me up for the day. The staff traded fun banter with each other and seems to have a great time working there. They are charming and are eager to help me choose and explain the options. Service is fast and the interior is lively and cute. I'm definitely coming back to try other options. Located in a small plaza with plenty of parking. Upon entering, the inside decor was nice and there was plenty of seating. We ordered at a kiosk so didn't interact too much with the staff. Our biggest complaint is how long the drinks took to be made. There were two small parties of two, ahead of us, waiting for their orders. Even then, our drinks took close to 45 minutes before we finally ended up getting them. We debated on just cancelling our orders and leaving but glad we didn't. The coffee was actually really good and the pandan flavor complimented it without overtaking the roasty coffee taste. I've been here twice, right before a road trip. I love that they open early, so that I can get a bubble tea for my morning drink for the road trips. I've never seen any other bubble tea shop open that early. I've tried the Strawberry Twist and Dragon Lady, and they were both good. I normally like to get less sugar in my drinks, but I they don't have the option here, but they actually weren't too sweet. My bf has tried the Oreo Crumble and Viet Velvet, and he liked them. I came back just to give their matcha a try and it did not disappoint! The barista were kind and were able to assist with any questions. I got the chill out matcha which has jasmine tea infused into the matcha (not mentioned on their menu). I got the matcha cold foam on top as well. This was actually one of my favorite matcha drinks I've tried. It was fragrant and smooth, perfect amount of sweetness. I will for sure order this again! My husband got the La bean sip coffee which I thought was unique. Who knew peanut butter would taste good in Vietnamese coffee. Definitely an adventurous drink to try. I had wanted to try this coffee shop for some time and finally got a chance this morning. I had the ube latte with cloud foam. It was quite sweet, lika a frappe. It felt more like a boba tea treat than a morning wake me up coffee drink. Next time I will add an extra shot and ask for less sweetness (if I can tweak it). My friend and I visited LA Bean and had a good time here, drinking our teas and playing Chronology, one of the miscellaneous board games they have for patrons. LA Bean is a Vietnamese cafe in Factoria, selling teas, coffees and banh mis in a welcome setting. I was craving something with mango, so ordered the Mango Kiss tea, which consists of green tea, mango puree and mango pieces on top while my friend had a green tea with lychee. My mango drink was refreshing and delicious, with a ton of mango flavor. I could've easily ordered another one. I'd like to try the Vietnamese coffee with ube next time I visit for when I need more caffeine. There are a lot of different drinks to choose from here, so something for everyone here. Glad to have LA Bean in Factoria, which doesn't have too many boba spots around. Located in a small business strip, parking can be dicey with how small the lot is with the busy shops around, but it's nearby other businesses and walking distance to the Factoria shopping center. We got 2 espresso/coffee based drinks and they were both good! I prefer things "not too sweet", so personally I would've liked it a little less sweet, but probably the perfect amount for a lot of people! If you want the stronger coffee flavor definitely go for the "sunrise" (double shot) options. I just didn't want too much caffeine! I've tried a fruit tea drink in the past and it was pretty good. I do tend to like fruit tea drinks more, but at this shop I prefer their coffee ones. read more

I had a great experience at LA Bean. When I went on a Saturday afternoon, there was no line and no crowd, which made the visit super quick and relaxing. The drinks were delicious--definitely the highlight. The coffee itself is very strong, which I personally enjoyed, and the flavors were well-balanced. I tried both the salted cloud and the matcha strawberry latte, and both looked amazing and tasted just as good. One thing to note: if you're particular about sweetness levels, the ordering kiosk doesn't let you adjust it. I ended up ordering with the cashier instead so I could customize my drink. Returning after 6 months and so happy to see this place thriving- both in their offerings and the foot traffic. It was very busy on a Saturday morning. Got the warm Ube matcha. It was delicious. Not too sweet and has good blend of both Ube and matcha. We also had the velvet brûlée- it was so good. Great taste of coffee and just enough crème brûlée making the drink creamy with a hint of sweetness. Highly recommended this drink. The pork banh mi was also a highlight for me. It was very tasty! I would come here for lunch tasty. It was a pleasant surprise since I didn't expect a beverage place would have super tasty banh mi. It was overall a satisfying (satiating) visit. My recommendation to the owner is to provide a little description of the drink as I can't imagine the staff having to answer to the many questions of "what's a velvet brûlée", or "brew-Bea" and they'd rather focus on crafting each drink. ;) also labeling the flavor of the various fun rice crispies would be helpful. read more

I came on a Monday for an afternoon snack. The staff was friendly and helpful in answering my questions. Too bad they didn't have the Croc waffle at the time. I had the pistachio luxe and the grilled pork Banh Mi. There were visible pistachios in the drink, which I greatly appreciated. The pork Banh Mi was sweet and satisfying. The store was decorated super cute, and it was a great place for me to sit down and work for a little bit since they also provided free Wi-Fi. Though the Wi-Fi didn't seem to allow access to all sites (such as Yelp), I was still able to get some work done. Overall, it's a great spot to grab some snacks and get work done. Top tier drinks, wonderful service, and super pretty interior decor puts this tea shop in my top 3 favs in the area. Love the adorable 4 month old husky puppy named Dong who chills in the far corner by the windows. The bahn mi can sell out near the end of the day, so highly recommend going to get one for lunch with a pick-me-up drink! The grilled beef option had a nice balance of greens, mayo, jalapeno, and the bread was baked nice and crunchy. It def hit the spot! The green tea was very fragrant and the la bean cloud was also delicious! The boba is cooked well and the fruit drink (lychee green tea) is very floral and had a great base tea flavor. Tried this place out for the first time and it did not disappoint! The drinks are very characteristic of Vietnamese drinks as they are on the sweeter and thicker side. I got the milk tea (with sea salt foam, grass jelly and boba). It is definitely quite sweet and there is unfortunately no way to adjust sweetness. Luckily I love sweet stuff though, so I enjoyed it. The sea salt foam is really good and the flavor is strong, one of the best/most flavorful ones I've had. Boba is also cooked well and is chewy. It's a thick drink and is sizable. The young coconut matcha was also good, it's very coconut-y and thick. There definitely is a good amount of ice though so you might have to be a bit patient in waiting for that to melt... I would say the coconut flavor is a bit stronger than the matcha, however we still enjoyed it! The store itself is cute and has great lighting! Really wanted to love this place but nope. Not returning! Love the location is near the factoria mall though. All the mentions about way too much ice is true. My drink was filled to the brim with ice. Walking in the atmosphere is beautiful but the service was chaotic and stressed. The tall light brown haired man was very stressed and I was told it would be a bit until he could help me at the register so I opted for the self ordering iPad everyone else was ordering from. On the self ordering screen I couldn't purchase the cookies as there was no option for that sadly so you have to order that with a cashier at the register which seems to be difficult. No ice level adjustment options available on the self ordering screens.... As it was super busy I waited more than 10 minutes for my drink. Probably 15-20 minutes. Once I received my drink the Chill Out Matcha I was super disappointed to see barely any drink and just tons of ice stacked to the top. The drink was okay, nothing impressive or memorable. Price. Expensive as hell. I live in Seattle and can get better for cheaper, bigger, and am allowed to ask for light ice or less ice at least. This drink was too expensive for such a small size, poor service, and wayyyyy too much ice. I paid $10 for basically ice it felt like a violation. Can't go back here again...it's just not it. I saw their grand opening sign while passing by and decided to stop in for a latte and bahn mi. It's such a cute cafe with garden themed decor and a tree at the entrance. I mainly went in to check out the Crocs waffle for my kiddo, but of course I couldn't resist trying their bánh mì too--so I got the chicken, no butter. I prefer a sweet, tangy bánh mì, and butter or that creamy sauce kind of throws me off, so I skipped it. Honestly, I'd rather have a Sriracha option. The Crocs waffle took about 15 minutes, which they told me when I ordered. I crisped it up again at home to serve it to my son, who was so excited to eat a waffle shaped like a shoe. It literally looked like his yellow Crocs, lol. Ahhhhhh... but then--he wouldn't even swallow his first bite. Even after dipping it in his favorite ube cream. So I tried it... and hmm. It honestly felt like it was missing something? Like... baking powder??? It was extremely dense, doughy, and very heavy. Almost like undercooked egg-flour batter. The ube cream was great, but not enough to save that failed waffle. We were expecting a fluffy, airy, pillowy waffle with a light crisp on the outside... but oh, well. The bánh mì, on the other hand, was actually good. I just wish the bread had been gutted more--it was a bit too heavy. We had extremely high hopes for this place because of the recent loss of Coffeeholic House on the Eastside. LA bean is decent, but it's not quite the same as what we were wanting. The main problem is that most of their drinks are really thick in texture, so it's not the best consistency when you first get it. Waiting a little bit for some of the ice to melt makes it better, but then if you wait too long it gets watery since there is quite a bit of ice. The flavors are pretty good, so if they were able to fix the texture issue a little, I would probably come here pretty often. read more

This is by far the tastiest coffee I've had. I saw a video of the velvet brulee on Instagram and needed it immediately. The small parking lot was filled on a weekday around lunch time so I parked in the lot by Amazon Fresh and walked across. My coffee came out fast and it tasted delicious. My only wish is that they would serve the Vietnamese coffee with less caffeine as an option. Although the drink is beyond delicious I could barely drink half. Vietnamese coffee makes me very jittery. I've recommended this place to friends and they also loved the velvet brulee. I plan to bring my sisters when they visit too. Hopefully the lower caffeine coffee is a viable offering soon, if so I'll be coming back several times a week. I definitely want to try one of their Croc waffles they look so cute! read more

If it wasn't for this lady, I would have given it a 3 star for sure. This particular lady went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied with everything. I asked for a non-caffeinated drink, and the cashier person wasn't helpful, she told me I had one option and that's it. The other lady heard my question and came over suggesting other drinks that they can make with substitutions. So I ended with the coconut water with ube cloud. It was refreshing and yummy. The ube cloud was light and fluffy and smooth and flavorful. Only issue was there was a lot of ice. They need to cut down on ice as I see other yelpers having the same complaints. I also order a pork banh mi, cookies and cream cookie, and the crocs with peanut butter cloud. The banh mi was good in flavors but the bread was very chewy/tough, even when I first got it. The cookie was very very hard and dry. The crocs was cute but the star was the cloud. It was fluffy and soft and smooth. The crocs was soft in the beginning but it got denser as it cooled down and the cheese inside also hardened. I had to wait almost 25 minutes for the crocs so the lady felt bad and made me an extra one which was nice of her. She also saw I had a lot and made sure I was able to get everything to the car. We visited LA'bean on opening day. We came in around 7pm and there was no line. Their store is charmingly decorated. They have a couple of tables if you prefer to have your drinks (and food) in store. We got the Pearl Lychee and the Ube Matcha. I loved the pearl lychee, it was just the right level of sweetness. For the ube matcha, it had a good ube flavor. I assumed that the cloud will be slightly sweeter, next time I will probably ask to add a sweetener to my order. Service was great, they were friendly. This is a pretty decent coffee/boba shop. The ambiance is really nice; plenty of seating; friendlt staffs; and it was plenty of people when i went. Its the usual where you place your order via kiosk and pick what you want. Plenty of options to choose from. They sell a croc shaped waffle if you into waffle. This had been my Eastside go to for Viet coffee ever since Coffeeholic House closed its Bellevue location and shifted back to Seattle. Their Salted Cloud is creamy and packs the Viet coffee punch as expected. If they could improve/reduce their ice amount, the drink would be even more perfect; although those who nurse the drink will get the volume as the ice melts. Otherwise they have a decent variety of tea, matcha drinks and coffee variations to try out. Service is nice and parking is very tight within this complex. read more

This place has it all for your sit and sip spots. They e got thee most amazing drink menu. Absolutely everything we tried scored 10 out of 10 for the family. I don't even know where to start. The facility was fluid, inviting and very clean. From bathroom to the back of the house. You can tell the owner takes pride in a presentable product. It's pet and kid friendly with relaxing spaces to sip and socialize. Game area. Counter seating, table seating and lounge area to settle in, relax or get some work done. The authentic hot coffee... I had never experienced the Vietnamese phin process and was really impressed with the flavor from the condensed milk and boldness from the coffee. Loved it! My wife had the coco pandan dream and boy was it dreamy! Sooo delicious. Literally could go on and on with the raving but you gotta just come in and experience it for yourself. The young coconut matcha was subbed with ube for the kiddos so it could be caffeine free. We also got the tigers kiss milk tea for the kids. Additionally we also ordered an Oreo crumble sunrise sip and pistachio latte for the road. Finally, I had to try the croc waffles. Intrigued and cute. I got a couple different dipping sauces. The salted cream is sweet and salty deliciousness. The croc itself dealt up a great shot for a cheese pull and it's stuffed with mozzarella cheese. 10 out of 10 for this and across the board. Really really good. Only sour note of La Bean would be that they're not in pierce county where I reside. Otherwise I'd be a daily regular for my coffee fix. I was here in the beginning when they first just opened! They now have hot beverages! But since the sun decided to show up I had to get another iced drink. Such a cute space. The staff again is very friendly I was so indecisive I wanted to try everything! They all look so delicious and pretty. Great concept and place, but I felt like I didn't get enough for what I paid for. This location takes the place of what used to be Daboba in the Factoria area not too far from both Katsu Burger and Mama's Kitchen. It shares a small parking lot with those same businesses, though parking was surprisingly not hard to find in any way. I got here with a friend at around 7:30pm on a Friday, which is kinda late but you can still find seating even though there's literally just a couple tables and chairs. You order at a kiosk immediately to the right-hand side when you walk in, and it shows pretty much everything that's on several copies of their laminated menus up at the front counter. Servers would come up once in a while to answer any questions guests had, which I appreciated a lot given this is a new location. While waiting for our drinks, I enjoyed a huge flowery tree to the left, along with words behind most of the tables that say, in short, "Sip happens." And "sip" did happen, in good and not-too-great ways. I got their Oreo crumble latte while my friend got their LA'bean tea infusion. My latte includes black coffee, milk, and an Oreo cream cloud. The coffee was very fresh, and the added Oreo bits accentuated the coffee taste a lot by adding a nice layer of chocolate. Servers were very patient and kind with us and others who placed orders and always made sure everyone got their orders even with mix-ups here and there. As seen in some reels advertising this place beforehand, I also ordered one of their La'beanbubus to go with my drink. This was actually provided separately in a plastic container, so it was up to me to throw this in my drink. For a price of $3.75 for what is essentially egg pudding, it's pricey. It also fits well with heavier drinks like milk tea and my coffee. I actually wouldn't recommend putting it inside any tea-based light drinks because of the taste and texture imbalance. I would have enjoyed my drink a lot more if ice didn't make up 75% of the cup I had. My friend found a similar amount of ice in his cup after finishing his drink, and his cup is taller than mine for an iced coffee cup. For a price of $7.50 for my cup and $7.75 for my friend's, the amount you get doesn't justify any of these costs. There really should be an adjustment for ice levels for those who don't want too much of it, and this is taking into account other Vietnamese iced coffee locations I've been to with very similar cup sizes. I actually finished my drink really fast because it was just that good! There just needs to be more drink content and an option to adjust ice levels to make this a truly 5-star experience. I'd come back if I'm craving some great coffee or want to try their other selection of drinks, though. I even got a young coconut matcha without the cream cloud for my sis, which she loved as well. read more
