Bobae Coffee & Tea is a popular spot for boba, treats and all things sweet in the Seattle area. Like its Kirkland location, this Issaquah one offers all the yummy favorites and their seasonal donuts, which are a must when they're available. Located in a small business strip in Issaquah across from the Gilman Village, parking is easy to find in the lot, but it can be limited with the space and other businesses around. Inside, the shop is very cute, with pastel decore, velvet seats and tables, and plenty of places for photo ops. I ordered the ube matcha latte and the seasonal pandan donut, which were both good. I love ube, so was glad to know that they make their own ube flavoring here, which was the best part of the drink. I also liked the pandan donut, but it was very sweet and rich. The menu offers a lot to choose from, with different drinks and treats, including those you can see in the case, such as the ube cookie, ube basque cheesecake, etc. Glad to know Bobae has another spot on the Eastside, making it easy for me to get to. read more

4.5 stars. As stated in my review a year ago I do loveeee Bobae but the Kirkland location will always be the best. I enjoy this location has free parking and seating inside but feel this location could be more welcoming in many ways. I was the third customer and it wasn't busy yet (said by an employee to another employee who was late), but the employee rushed me talking extremely fast and in a let's get this over with tone. But the two behind me were regulars and got a very relaxed tone, slower pace convo, and smiles. She remembered their names which is cool but she could've smiled at me like she did to them and not rush me? Just a little unwelcoming to those who are not regulars tbh. Also if there is seating inside why are there no trash cans around? I had to throw my donut wrapper and napkin trash in the restroom since all trashes were behind the counter and again the employees were caring for the regulars. The regulars behind me also were given napkins with their donuts and I was not so after I heard the male employee offer napkins to them I went up and asked for one since he never gave me one or asked if I wanted one...Just felt like my business did not matter compared to the regulars which is disappointing being honest. Maybe they should keep napkins and a trash readily available for customers in the lobby since they do have seating inside which would make sense and is the norm?... My Goma Goma drink with oat milk and standard sweetness was delightful and finally got my hands the famous donuts! I tried a matcha donut and honestly probably one of the best donuts I've ever had. The dough is so soft, fluffy, perfectly sweet with plenty of matcha filling as they don't skimp! The donuts are big! Soooo delicious. I love Bobae but this location isn't my go to. read more

Bobae has pretty great tasting drinks and they're so creative, too. The workers are nice and they offer some food options, mostly sweet things like cakes. There are a handful of tables which is nice and plenty of parking in the shared lot. My friends frequent this place since it is in Issaquah and convenient. The workers are trained well and are very polite. The drinks are made well, too. The space is kind of oddly shaped, but I like that they try to curate some seating and it's cute. The drinks are a little more classy than your average boba shop. I like that they offer seasonal flavors and on my last visit, I tried their sweet potato one that was their seasonal fall flavor and it was excellent. The drinks are maybe a little on the pricey side, but I enjoy the proper unique flavors and that their drinks are made well. If you ever find yourself in Issaquah and wanting some boba, this is the place to go!! There really aren't a lot of other places to go honestly. I'm so happy Bobae is in Issaquah. It's one of my favorite Boba shops and I frequent it 2-3 times a month. Their Red, White and Matcha is very popular and I love their Nitro Thai Tea, but what I really come for are their Monthly Creative Drinks. There's 4 different Creative Themed drinks and I try to drink them all. I have never had a bad drink here and I'll always stop by when I'm near Gilman. When I'm hungry, I also pick up a pastry as well. Their mochi croissants are so unique and delicious. I love that Bobae is so close to me. I've been on a jasmine tea kick lately and this one of my favorites I've had! I got the Jasmine Silver Tip Milk Tea with 25% sweetness and light ice and added boba. So good. We have been getting Boba here for about a year, on a weekly basis. Ever since they've gotten their soft serve ice cream, we've also been getting that. Today we came in and asked for the ice cream, and when we got it, the serving seemed unusually small, but besides that there was a huge air bubble in the center, when I brought it up with the individual behind the counter, they seemed to completely blank minded and they're only response was well I did what I'm supposed to do. I had high expectations on the place given the high price and the newspaper in store saying the owner was included in the James Beard woman entrepreneur cohort. However, I was extremely disappointed at the store environment, the service, and the food. The food on display was very discolored, looked days or even weeks old. I wouldn't want to order any of those if I had ordered in store (I ordered online). There were only two temperature options for boba: either iced or hot. I didn't want iced. Had no choice but to order hot. I also added boba. And then they served the boba in a coffee cup with a coffee cup cap that had a tiny hole for liquid. I understand there's concern about using a straw for hot liquid. But I didn't know how I was supposed to get to the boba thru that tiny hole. Also when I was handed the boba, the cup cap had dirty smudges right next to the opening. Cheesecake tasted fine. Overall, didn't think it was worth the price. Won't visit again. read more

All the staff here was super friendly and informative on their menu as I had a few questions as this is a unique coffee and bubble tea shop! I also kept an eye on their social media to see when they would have their popular donuts. Luckily, our cashier immediately pointed out that we came on a good day as they had those donuts and each one looked amazing that day. I got two of their limited time specials which was a Orange Creamsicle and Lavender orange creamsicle donut as well as a strawberry kimono flat croissant. My boyfriend got the house-made lavender latte. Everything was super delicious and just be aware that the donuts are really sweet! Our drinks were made to perfection accommodating our specifications. Despite the small location, they had quite a bit of chairs and tables inside. I saw lots of people taking a seat while waiting for their order, having a casual chat with a friend or studying. My friend and I were excited that Bobae finally opened up in Issaquah (where the old Share Tea was)! I remember when the original Bobae in Woodinville had a huge write-up in the Seattle Times and driving all the way out there just to try their nitro boba. They have since expanded to Kirkland and now Issaquah- which saves me 40 minutes of driving! Bobae is a local boba business with a cute pig logo. They serve premium quality drinks and boba (for a premium price). In the past, I've tried both their nitro BO and BAE drinks (one is traditional oolong and one is Earl grey, but I don't remember which is which). Both were great and the texture of the tapioca pearls is always on point! I love that they always have a seasonal menu too (this past summer they had a mango series and it looks like this past month they had a peach series- can't wait to see what's next)! This past visit, I tried the GOMA GOMA (+$8) with a shot of hojicha (+$1) as suggested by the bobarista at 50% sweetness with light ice. GOMA GOMA is basically their black sesame latte without espresso. I didn't get pearls as toppings are another $1, and $10 already seemed high for a drink. The drink was delicious and reminded me of Coffeeholic's black sesame latte, but without the coffee. I think I could've saved money and gone with just the Black Sesame Latte as the black sesame was strong and covered up most of the tea taste anyway. My friend ordered the BOBAEJICHA (+$6.50) with pearls (+$1) which was basically hojicha tea over milk. She enjoyed the smoothness of her drink. I would consider getting this drink next time. Service is excellent and the bobarista makes your drink to order. Atmosphere is modern and casual. They sell loose leaf tea and apparel at the side of the store. There is plenty of indoor seating. Bobae is a solid place to grab drinks with friends. My only complaint is that prices can be on the higher side, depending on what you order. They also don't put prices on the dessert case, so a palm-sized cookie being $5 is a huge rip. The cashier couldn't hear me though all the loud talking of another cashier taking a phone order, but she explained their creative menu is monthly, and the rest of the shop was quiet and empty 30 min before closing. This place is stingy with their servings. If you ask for less ice in your drink, you get a 1/2 empty glass instead of just filling the rest with your milk of choice. So, be warned, you are paying almost $10 for primarily a cup of ice; or a 1/2 empty cup if you ask for less ice. It has usually been the same smaller, caucasian girl with colored hair who skimps on the serving sizes so not sure if this is applicable for all if their locations. That being said, their boba is perfect and their flavors are real-ingredients with housemade jams. They have a few pastries too. Yesterday, I stopped by your Northwest Gilman location and purchased two Nitro Bae iced drinks with almond milk. I'd like to share my experience: 1. The price felt very high for the size of the cup, even compared to other coffee shops like Starbucks. 2. About 1-2 hours after drinking them, both of us began feeling unwell and had to use the restroom multiple times. We normally don't have upset stomachs from drinks, so this was unusual. I noticed while the drinks were being prepared that: * Monkfruit sweetener, tapioca pearls, a yellowish liquid, almond milk, and a milk-coffee-colored liquid were added before ice. * By the time the drinks were handed to me, they were barely cold and had very little ice. Because of the high price, small size, lack of proper chilling, and the fact that both of us became sick shortly after, I wanted to bring this to your attention. read more

Not the typical boba place like happy lemon, coco or sharetea. Btw the place used to share tea boba. Plenty of private shared parking area with other retailers. I ordered Bobaejicha hojicha, Goma Goma black sesame and Bae Kok Thai. The taste was pretty good. Not creamy enough for me. They still use manual stickers for your orders. The cups are regular ice drink kinda cups with cap, not the usual sealed boba cups. And they are a bit more expensive than other my usual boba place. I came here after lunch since I was nearby. I decided to get the goma goma this time with a shot of hojicha per staff recommendation. Omg!! This was the best drink I've ever had! It has a strong taste of black sesame milk and hochija together. Best combo ever! This will be my new go-to order from now on! I swear the workers there are so creative with drink ideas. It was my first time coming here. The shop was cute when walking in! I ordered an iced Nitro OG Milk Tea. Half sugar. It tasted great! However, I ordered a large and they could of at least topped off the drink. It was weird to have that much space. My husband ordered a hibiscus Lemonade and that one was topped off. This is another Bobae location with gnernally the same options, quality, and experience you'd expect to find at their other locations. This one is located in a strip mall with lots of parking. FYI- there's not a "no ice" button, so they can't not put ice in your beverage at Issaquah. I've been going to Bobae since the Woodinville only days, then glad when they opened Kirkland location. Bobae used to put 4-5 ice cubes on iced baes, which is reasonable for a draft beverage (who puts ice cubes in their beer?). When they started putting my cups half full of ice, I started getting no ice by ordering in person (mobile doesn't have that option). Today I tried to get just Tea and boba at a tea shop, and was unable to do so because they couldn't physically not put ice in my "custom" beverage. Delicious matcha drinks and the colour pink is the perfect recipe for a happy girl like me, and Bobae checks those boxes! Upon entering, you ate greeted by the smell of fresh loose-leaf tea brewing and the pink interior is the perfect cutesy aesthetic. Joshie helped me at the register- I told him it was my first time at Bobae and he eloquently explained the menu and their shop specialties. It's a shame I could only order one drink for myself as all their matcha drinks looks/sounds divine. I ended up going with the Matcha Bomb (Matcha+Espresso) and it was a beautiful blend of earthy and creamy with slight bitterness at the end. I came here at around the time of opening. I was super excited due to the cute and trendy vibe, and was hoping it would be as good as the Share Tea it replaced. The service was friendly and the manager seemed to know what he was doing. I ordered the matcha strawberry latte drink, and remember being met with only the flavor of milk and strawberry in my drink. I expected a bit stronger of a matcha flavor considering the high price point, but the presentation of the drink was very pretty. I think that adjusting the ratio of the milk and matcha would be able to remedy this. Every experience I've had here so far has been great, and today was no exception. The sweet staff who helped me was Lars, who detailed the quality of the matcha drink that I ordered.
