First time ordering here, I ordered an acai bowl for pickup on doordash and there was a moldy blueberry.

    Dragonfruit freeze

Was so excited when they opened up a Pressed in Issaquah. We enjoy taking walks during the summer and then treating ourselves to a freeze. Our favorite is the chocolate flavored freeze but surprisingly it is not a regular flavor, which I think is odd. Tried the dragonfruit this time since it wasn't a first choice but was craving a freeze. It was ok but hoping they bring back the chocolate soon.

Fortunato chocolate uses cacao from the Marañón river canyon of Peru. Brian Horsley & Dan Pearson (owners along with other family members) discovered cacao from this region with a large percentage of white cacao beans. Genetic testing revealed it to be a unique variety of Nacional cacao long thought extinct & related to the Nacional cacao of Ecuador. It's not the rarest cacao in the world, but it is remarkable. Fortunato send the cacao to Switzerland and has Felchlin make chocolate from it for Fortunato. The chocolate has an exceptionally smooth texture & a thick & luxuriously creamy mouthfeel. Flavors are primarily floral, with a strong hint of slightly citrusy fruits & caramel. There's also an underlying current of earthy & nutty flavors hinting at coffee. But the floral notes sing here so much that you would swear (too much) vanilla is added. None is added. The overall effect is a rich, barely bitter, & profoundly dark chocolate that brings different flavor notes almost every time you taste it. This palate & soul-satisfying chocolate keeps you coming back for more. And then they make confections--many, many, many of them--here at this small commercial kitchen and sell them. Worth a visit.

It's been a while since we've been to a Baskin-Robbin, and it's always nice to see what new flavors are available. In our case, it was Beach Day (Salted vanilla: milk chocolate caramel sea turtles, frosting flecks, swirls of graham cracker sand) and our favorite Jamoca Almond Fudge (coffee ice cream with roasted almonds and fudge swirl), a generous two scooper is $7.29. There was enough ice cream for the our server to put the sugar cone upside down in a cup to prevent a mess. My wife really enjoyed it. I got a medium strawberry shake (two scoops of strawberry ice cream), mixed with milk and topped with whipped cream topping (special price of $6). It was made correctly, but tasted like really weak chilled strawberry milk. Ice cream is the way to go here.

There are a handful of tables which is nice and plenty of parking in the shared lot. My friends frequent this place since it is in Issaquah and convenient. The workers are trained well and are very polite. The drinks are made well, too. The space is kind of oddly shaped, but I like that they try to curate some seating and it's cute. The drinks are a little more classy than your average boba shop. I like that they offer seasonal flavors and on my last visit, I tried their sweet potato one that was their seasonal fall flavor and it was excellent. The drinks are maybe a little on the pricey side, but I enjoy the proper unique flavors and that their drinks are made well. If you ever find yourself in Issaquah and wanting some boba, this is the place to go!! There really aren't a lot of other places to go honestly. Located in a small business strip in Issaquah across from the Gilman Village, parking is easy to find in the lot, but it can be limited with the space and other businesses around. Inside, the shop is very cute, with pastel decore, velvet seats and tables, and plenty of places for photo ops. I ordered the ube matcha latte and the seasonal pandan donut, which were both good. I love ube, so was glad to know that they make their own ube flavoring here, which was the best part of the drink. I also liked the pandan donut, but it was very sweet and rich. The menu offers a lot to choose from, with different drinks and treats, including those you can see in the case, such as the ube cookie, ube basque cheesecake, etc. Glad to know Bobae has another spot on the Eastside, making it easy for me to get to.

My friend and I came here for a Saturday lunch based on her recommendation. We arrived at noon and surprisingly were the only customers dining in. They have a large main dining area, a seemingly private section, large bar area and a nice patio. About half of the patio is completely shaded and the tables along the balcony had umbrellas. I'm not sure if lunchtime on Saturdays are usually slow for them, but we ended up having the whole patio to ourselves for the entire time. The menu has a good selection of meat and vegetarian options. They also have Tandoori plates which sound like individual meals, but the two of us opted for a couple dishes to share. Once we ordered, our waitress brought out a complimentary appetizer of papadum & mango chutney which was a delicious starter. The papadum was so crispy, like a very thin cracker. We broke it into pieces and dipped it in the chutney which was chunky and sweet with a spiced kick. A few minutes later, our food arrived! + COCONUT CHICKEN CURRY ($19): Meaty pieces of chicken simmered in a coconut milk and tomato-based sauce. The sauce was creamy, but a little sweeter than expected. Not that this was a bad thing, but the curry flavor needed more oomph. Regardless, I still mopped it up with some naan. While the chicken was nice and tender, that's really all that was in the curry. I found two slivers of zucchini, but that was it; I would have liked to see more vegetables included. + DAAL MAKHANI ($17): Whole black lentils and red kidney beans slow-cooked in a signature sauce with spices and butter. I didn't know what to expect of the dish, but it was substantial, rich and filling. I wouldn't consider it super bold in flavor, but it must have had a variety of herbs to give it its green color. + GARLIC NAAN ($5): This was delicious, super garlicky and brushed with butter! It was light and had a crispy bottom. I appreciated how it wasn't too thick nor doughy. + MANGO LASSI ($6): So refreshing and the perfect consistency. It had a bright ripe mango flavor and wasn't too sweet. About halfway into our lunch, a gentleman (who we believe is the owner) stopped by and asked how everything was. He was so personable and I could really sense the passion and dedication he puts into the restaurant. He brought us an extra bowl of rice during lunch and one more for us to take home with our leftovers. This was so generous of him! Our server was also super kind and checked on us a couple times. You can tell that customer service is one of their top priorities. I would definitely return again to try their biryani and tandoori plates. We ordered the two dishes above at a 1 on the spice scale, but next time, I would opt for at least a 2 for a little heat. 4.25 stars.
