Free hot chocolate
Pigs Out S.

Don't try more than one or two flavors from the sample jars. I took three different ones and was warned "you are taking too much". I guess only one or two pieces are allowed.

Love that this place is local and family owned. They have tons of unique flavors and you can sample the chocolate. They also had samples of their hot chocolate. Staff were very friendly. It's in a busy shopping center where REI and a bunch of other things are so popular spot.

Purchased a signed book and 5-3oz bars of their 68% dark chocolate (6/8/24)

Previous visit was back in Jan 2022 at their production site. Yesterday (6/8/24), I made a spontaneous visit to their larger retail site, near REI. Both brothers were onsite to sign their new published book. Same stuff the past 2.5 years: *high quality chocolate and product line *still enjoying Adam's daily e-newsletter New updates: *Look forward to reading their new book. *Nice selection of Peruvian merch. *No more free hot chocolate due to rising costs of Peruvian cacao. It's available, but at cost. *No 17 ounce dark chocolate block available. I bought 5 × 3oz bars instead. *No samples of chocolate, just their extensive chocolate product line. I tried two while onsite, the rice krispie one & quinoa + chia one. Amazing as always. Support this indie, family run, and award winning bean to bar business. The dedicated efforts here in Issaquah and via the many family farms in Peru, the high quality is duly noted. Global prices and availability due to climate change make this a rare indulgence.

This place, wow! First of all, beautifully set up and accessible. The staff were 2 of the owners, such genuinely good people. And do they know chocolate? Yup. Wait until you taste the chocolate. They greet you with their incredible drinking chocolate. I have traveled the world and never had drinking chocolate so delicious. Check this place out, support these terrific local folks and have the BEST chocolate of your life.

Get a cup of free hot chocolate. But some chocolate confections. This is not a chocolate maker. It's a chocolatier. Fortunato chocolate uses cacao from the Marañón river canyon of Peru. Brian Horsley & Dan Pearson (owners along with other family members) discovered cacao from this region with a large percentage of white cacao beans. Genetic testing revealed it to be a unique variety of Nacional cacao long thought extinct & related to the Nacional cacao of Ecuador. It's not the rarest cacao in the world, but it is remarkable. Fortunato send the cacao to Switzerland and has Felchlin make chocolate from it for Fortunato. The chocolate has an exceptionally smooth texture and a creamy mouthfeel--precisely what one would expect from a typical Swiss-made milk chocolate. Flavors are gentle caramel, dairy cream, and vanilla (the bar has added vanilla). A faint orange note flits across the palate along with the cream, and there's also a hint of banana. The finish becomes nuts and cream, with a rich chocolate buttercream frosting. And the aftertaste is that with a very faint hint of orange. If you love real milk chocolate, you will like this chocolate. It's a rich, mild, luxurious milk chocolate experience with little to no bitterness. I put a review of the dark chocolate on the kitchen's Yelp page. And then they make confections--many, many, many of them--from this and the dark chocolate at a small commercial kitchen nearby that you can also visit. This is the retail store. Worth a visit.

Peruvian chocolate in the Seattle area. How cool is that? They have the usual solid blocks of various milk and dark chocolate as well as quite a lot of different varieties. We were initially drawn in by their sign for free hot chocolate on a cool day. Got to meet one of the owners and chatted a bit about their process. Love to see the business supporting the folks in Peru. Aside from the free hot chocolate, they have almost all of their chocolates varieties to sample. And the samples are large enough chunks to get a good sense of the flavors. I'm usually partial to the 70%+ dark chocolate, which they've decided to make sugar free with monk fruit. The result is a more gritty texture that doesn't appeal to me, but maybe to others?

Skimming reviews we were also drawn in by a free cup of hot chocolate. Met the owners as well. Bought some chocolate covered gummy bears and their hot chocolate mix. There's something about their dark chocolate that makes it taste cleaner. Don't live in the area but worth a stop if visiting.

Oh Boy free hot chocolate. I went in and got some hot chocolate and I grabbed some dark chocolate. I talked to the owner and told them that I talk about them to my friends ( I only have 2 so not much talking) I do enjoy their chocolate, only wish there was ice cream.

This little chocolate shop in the corner of the Safeway/Rei/Verizon Wireless strip in Issaquah is a gem. This is at least my 3rd bag of these delicious turtles. Full pecans covered in caramel and chocolate you can never go wrong. The service when you walk in is friendly, they offer you to try a sample of everything they sell in the store, they got spicy chocolate, solid chocolate, truffles, you name it! The space is spacious and you get to look around at each of the items you sell. It's not set up the a bougie chocolatier bar. I'd you look for a special gift! I highly recommend Fortunato 10/10!

Ordered from Massachusetts. Doesn't taste like chocolate. Maybe sat in a warehouse for a year?

I appreciate the free members item the most but regardless I'm happy that I joined. I chose Pcc often for their healthy options + baked goods. My personal favorites are the mighty'o donuts! And their vegan pies, brownies, and cookies. Staff are friendly. Market is easy to navigate and clean. My biggest complaint is the inconsistent offers of vegan pies. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. I was happy to see the vegan pumpkin and vegan fruit pies. But then I go to this location and nope!! It is easy to just make them dairy free and you do t have to add the vegan sticker. That's what Costco does now with their fruit pies!!! The other complaint is the deli switched to pre-packaged items only. Which probably makes a lot of sense with staffing issues and or peak rush hours. However, if that's the plan, at the very least please secure your containers. And even offer stickers or rubber bands for extra support. Why is this upsetting? I got home from my last haul and my curry tofu spilled out everywhere, landing on my rug & me, which stained it yellow so obviously very disappointing.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a sandwich I've gotten from here, and I swear I try them at least every other month.
