Matcha Magic feels like the closest local version of an Erewhon-style smoothie outside of Joe & The Juice. I tried the Strawberry Glaze and understood the hype right away. It was rich, balanced, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. Compared to Erewhon smoothies, this one was more drinkable and less icy, which I preferred. Definitely mix it before drinking since the strawberry purée settles at the bottom and gets very sweet. The shop is cute and conveniently located in old downtown Bellevue near the park, making it an easy stop during a walk. They also let me briefly bring my dog inside while placing a takeout order, which I appreciated. For the price, it feels fair given the quality and ingredients. I'm already looking forward to trying the coconut smoothie next time. read more

I want to preface this by saying my five star rating is for one drink: Strawberry Hojicha. And it is, by far, my favorite hojicha in Bellevue. There are 3 cafes I go to on the regular for my hojicha fix: Magic Matcha, Tendon Kohaku, and Bobae in Kirkland. While I enjoy all three, Magic Matcha is my favorite. The roasted tea flavor is strong, they allow me to adjust the sweetness level, and the flavor of the drink is always consistent. I've had issues with Tendon and Bobae either changing up the brand or the roast or adding too much milk on any given day. One of my gfs loves their horchata hojicha so there's that. I tasted it and it was objectively good. I wouldn't get it only because I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon, but if I were, it would be another go-to drink. read more

The food here is amazing! I've tried the avocado toast with salmon on top and it totally hits the spot! I've also tried their maca energy balls and I like that they're not too overly sweet! We always come back for the smoothies that's I find better than Erewhon IMO! Service is great! They're very friendly and make suggestions too! LOVE this place and wish we had somewhere similar at home - hopefully someday! I was in town for a week and came here twice. The decor in the store is SO cute. Service was quick (though admittedly I was not there at peak hours). I tried the regular matcha latte and a strawberry, and both were excellent. Smooth matcha flavor and the strawberry tasted like real puréed strawberries (which I think they were)! Avocado toast was delicious as well. Realistically, my review is a high 3 stars, like a 3.7-3.9, and is mostly weighed down by the fact that the matcha latte was meh. Not awful, not I'll-never-drink-again-bad, but meh. I've been here twice, once a few years ago with my cousins, and another three days ago. The people working were attentive and quick with their service. The ambiance of the place is cute, a lot of pink and green, very instagram-worthy, and I saw a few people with friends or working on their laptop so it seems like a great place vibe-wise. To expand on my matcha critique, I found the color to be a little on the green-yellow side, which isn't the end all- be all quality indicator for matcha, but I find matcha lattes that are more rich in color tend to taste better and this tasted like a matcha drink I could make with costco matcha. I've made some decent lattes with costco matcha but once I switched to the more higher quality ones, well, it sorta refined my tastes. There isn't a lot of parking, and to be fair, a lot of people who are in downtown Bellevue are parked elsewhere else and likely just meander their way to the cafe. However, if you're coming in by car, I'd suggest parking by the apartments nearby, DO NOT park at the Chase Bank lot, even if the bank itself is closed (learned my lesson...). Overall, a 3.7-3.9. Could be better. Maybe with other additives like cold foam or strawberries, the drink is better, but I'm judging based off the basic latte. read more

MATCHA MAGIC @ BELLEVUE Parking is a bit difficult here since it's right off the main road in Downtown Bellevue, so it's mostly street parking. Luckily, I was able to find a spot. Most street parking is free for up to 2 hours. I'd also recommend parking by Macy's and walking about 10 minutes to the matcha place (you'll pass the park), or parking near Bellevue Downtown Park, though that area can get very busy. I ordered two items through my ClassPass account, which cost me 11 credits (about $25 total). I got the Strawberry Matcha and their Banana Split Açaí Bowl, which has a coconut and açaí base with honey, cacao nibs, banana, strawberries, granola, and honey. The açaí bowl was $14, and the matcha was around $8. Overall, I absolutely loved the matcha. It was strong on the matcha flavor and lighter on the strawberry, but still very delicious and clearly high quality. The açaí bowl was a miss for me, I've definitely had better quality with more toppings for $14. That said, it was decent, and I really enjoyed the coconut base since it felt light and refreshing. I wouldn't recommend getting this however. Overall, I loved the vibe of this place. It's very spacious, and I'd definitely come back for the matcha and to get some work done. I'd also love to try their shakes next, they look incredible. read more

So happy to finally try here! And again I should temper my expectations... As part of my early birthday celebration, my friend and I came here around 12pm after a meal elsewhere to give this place a shot. It's pretty chill inside, with several tables near the entrance and near the counter where drinks are made. There's even a table near the back entrance where you can sit at as well. The pink walls and several neon lights with funny quotes add a cutesy picturesque feel especially when you get to sit inside. Though I used street parking near the Downtown Bellevue Park, you can actually utilize the small parking lot right next to this place to get 1 hour free parking if needed. This location specializes in drinks made with matcha in many ways, which was pretty appealing to me and my friend to the point where we had a hard time deciding what we each wanted. I ended up getting the purple rain, which has lavender, ube puree, oat milk as a default and matcha sweet cream. This was delicious, and the matcha undertones were perfectly strong and floral throughout. I will say that the ube and lavender mix ever so slightly overpowers the drink when mixing the whole thing, so I'd probably not stir the drink the whole way and try to get sips of both the matcha and ube separately to get a feel of how powerful each part is individually. My friend got their matcha horchata, and unfortunately he was disappointed with his drink overall. Ironically, the matcha overpowered the horchata and the ice in his drink very quickly watered his drink down. It's actually great to know that this place doesn't skimp on their matcha, but there was an imbalance between the matcha and horchata when I had several sips of his drink, especially at the very beginning and the very end where either the matcha or water took over. Despite all this, I'd come back again to try some of their other drinks, and maybe chill there longer for even more photo ops. I'm currently eyeing the cookies and cream matcha for my next visit! read more

Was looking forward to trying this place but was disappointed. Matcha quality didnt seem very good. Got matcha strawberry latte and it tasted bitter and grainy. Usually , matcha bitterness when its strong is smooth and have a nuttier taste of som sort. This felt bad bitter and adding more sweetener didnt help. Cafe itself has a fun vibe and staff. So happy to get a chance to try this place. Parking: free parking validation on the parking lot next door, or free street parking around the area. Can taste the pumpkin, and really like creaminess of the matcha, but a tad too sweet for me. As fot the smoothie, it is like a dupe of erawon smoothie, better and cheaper. Service is fast. Seating: plenty indoor only seating. Restroom: require a key from the cashier, go all the way back , follow the directions. Kinda loud to talk. Stopped by Matcha Magic and I'd give it a solid 4 stars! I tried the Oreo & matcha mix and while the matcha flavor was a little on the stronger side, you could still taste the cookies & cream which made it pretty tasty overall. My friend got the toasted matchamallow latte--it was okay, nothing too crazy but still fun to try. We also had the house avocado toast, really good toast. The olive oil really compliments the tomatoes and makes the whole bite feel super fresh. All the girlies working there are so sweet, and the cafe itself is the cutest pink vibe. Definitely a good spot for girl dates or just to hang out and sip on something matcha-y! read more

TLDR: a really cute place with cute interiors and trendy matcha drinks. I really enjoyed my visit. We discovered this spot on ClassPass, and so glad we did! The interiors are so fun and whimsical - I could totally see myself chilling here for a couple hours with a friend over matcha. They have a variety of matcha drinks including ones with mushrooms and different flavors like strawberry. As a matcha lover, I was so glad to have discovered this spot! They have more cute and trendy type matcha latte than traditional Japanese matcha tea - just fyi for aficionados, but I loved it and it was just up my alley. We got the magic mushroom potion one, and a strawberry matcha latte. The strawberry one was nice and had a good amount of sweetness. Did I drink 1.5 matchas back to back and then have energy all day? Decided to check out Matcha magic. Such a great name When you walk in the store is clean and really cute. There are some tables outside if you wanna sit outside also. Nice verse menu you can get some tasty sounding bites, but I decided to just try one of the Matcha drinks I decided to try a Horchata Matcha. I love a good Horchata and I with Matcha. Let's do it. The staff was very friendly. Placed my order and was very comfortable waiting a short time for my drink to be ready. I found the combination of the Matcha with the Horchata very pleasing. I loved the pink decorations and overall ambience, there were many cute spots for pictures and they had some cool matcha drink candles based on their menu. The service was good and efficient, we ordered a Matcha Horchata, the Dreamsickle, Blueberry Matcha, the Banana Cream Matcha and the Lox On toast. The Blueberry Matcha was a bit too sweet and the toast was okay, I didn't feel it was quite worth it compared to what I could make at home. What we got: 1. Regular matcha latte 2. Strawberry matcha latte I usually go for the regular since strawberry tends to overpower the matcha but here I lovedddd the strawberry matcha!! Not overpowering at all! They use 6g of matcha per cup so you definitely taste the matcha. Flavor is smooth, sweet, and slightly nutty. They sweeten with simple syrup but it is the perfect sweetness. They also sell tins which I've tried and love. If you like a nutty matcha this tin is for you. Decor is very cute and service is also great! read more

The interior is cute! Nice staff and a chill place to stop by and get a drink or acai bowls. I got the coco glow and it was fantasticc. The portion of the bowl is pretty big and i love the little granolas and the cripsy rice stuff in it. The flavors of the fruit and the coconut were a good mix! Didn't really taste the matcha chia seeds though. The bowl overall is super refreshing and delicious -- i'd come back for the bowls! On the other hand, i wasn't a fan of their matcha latte. It's very very earthy. It didn't taste like any matchas i've ever had and i've had a numerous amount..Maybe the best choice isn't the matcha latte? The vibe is so unique here so it's no surprise that you're paying mostly for that. The service is good, nothing terrible to note but also nothing above and beyond. The actual drink are pretty solid, but I don't know if I'd say they are $7-$15 good, especially since the size of the drink is pretty small. Parking can be difficult since it's packed area, but that's to be expected. Giving 4 stars mostly because of the value when getting something like a smoothie. I think they can do a bit better on pricing. read more

I bought a matcha tin to try at home because as I said earlier, I love trying different matcha. Also, for around $30?? the powder was not worth it. I think it lacked complexity and even a strong matcha taste. I usually add 3 grams per cup, but I had to use around 5g to taste matcha. There was a line on a weekday in the morning. I ordered the strawberry matcha iced drink and it was delicious. The bottom of the drink was a little more "matcha" flavor so definitely give it a good stir. If you don't drink it fast enough it also becomes bitter. But great drink and store. Decided to try this place again after not liking it for the first time. Going this time, it was pretty good. I got the toasted matchamallow latte, and my partner got the strawberry matcha. He was not a fan of the strawberry matcha and couldn't really pinpoint why. I liked the toasted matchamallow latte but wish there was more marshmallow flavoring in it. The presentation is cute and the patcha does taste pretty high quality but wish it was maybe a little sweeter. Service was great, we left with a matcha tin as well. The menu is quite small with three cold sandwiches and three hot ones, each inspired by a different region of the globe with the South Pacific, South America and Mediterranean as a few examples. There were two salads listed as well. I've been here twice and both times, when I went to place my order on the iPad, the menu stated they were out of stock for the sandwich that I wanted. However, when I asked the employee, she said that was not correct. So if you see the same message when ordering, it's worth asking about it! During my first visit, I ordered the RENDANG ($14). This hot sandwich came packed with SO much meat! Very tender chunks of marinated beef tasted of coconut, curry and warm spices. The flavor had true depth and I could actually taste hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Thin spears of pickled cucumber and carrot added crunch and a perfect zing of acidity. They were refreshing and cut through the rich beef. A drizzle of Sambal Terasi (chili) aioli gave it another layer of flavor. Cilantro, mint and Thai basil were all fresh and vibrant. The bread was lightly toasted, being a little crinkly in texture without being harsh against my gums. If I could change something, I would include a couple extra slices of the cucumber to balance out the ratio of vegetables to meat, and add a bit more of the aioli. Other than that, this is a great sandwich influenced by flavors of the South Pacific. My companion got the STEAK sandwich ($15) and enjoyed it. The steak slices were thinly cut and tender as well. They do their beef right! On another occasion, I tried the PROSCIUTTO ($14), one of their cold sandwiches. The delicate layers of prosciutto were placed on top of sliced tomatoes, pickled onion and arugula, all between pressed focaccia bread. Truffle mustard was spread on both pieces of bread, which was WAY too much in my opinion. With this mustard having a stronger flavor, it overpowered the sandwich and made it too tangy, especially in combination with the pickled onions. The menu stated this should include pistachios, but I didn't notice any, and they were all out of provolone, so there was also an absence of cheese. For the prices, these sandwiches are pretty generous in size, so I consider them a good deal, especially for the Bellevue area. The ingredients are fresh and make for a fantastic lunch option. While I wasn't a huge fan of the Prosciutto sandwich, I'd definitely go back again for another Rendang!

There was also jelly in there but couldn't quite figure out what the jelly tastes like and there was no description for what the toppings are in the drink. I came here to try the hailey bieber dupe and was a bit disappointed. In addition to the strawberry glaze, I was also really interested in trying their matcha so we also got the Toasted MatchaMallow Latte. I thought the two components -- matcha and marshmellow would be a bit more intertwined given the name but they were just totally separate. It was just a toasted marshmellow on a stick stuck in the straw hole of the lid. The matcha was just normal matcha but really pasty. The smoothie was priced at $13 for 16 ounces which is kind of similar to the $20 for 20 ounces for the erewhon one in terms of price point but it wasn't as good. Aesthetic wise I also feel a bit lied to by the yelp pictures because there wasn't actually labels on the cup, only sleeves and the smoothie drink I got looked nothing like the pictures. The total for the two drinks was $22 so it was really pricey in my opinion. The chairs inside were also really uncomfortable. I don't think I will be back but anything is worth the try. read more
