This is such an adorable little matcha shop with a cute aesthetic! We stopped in because we were wanting a some caffeine but didn't want a heavy coffee and the coconut matcha latte sounded too good not to try. It was super yummy and definitely hit the spot! The inside is super cute with lots of fun details, pretty plants and decor, fun colors, and lots of photo worthy spots. Definitely the kind of place where you'll want to take a few pictures! Service was okay though, nothing super memorable. We weren't greeted when we walked in and at first we weren't really sure where we were supposed to order so maybe just a quick greeting or direction would have been helpful! One thing I really love is that they're a woman owned business and donate 5% of their sales to Ladies Who Launch which supports women and nonbinary entrepreneurs. I really wanted to love Matcha Magic, but my first experience fell a bit short. All of their drinks sounded fantastic, and I ended up deciding on the black sesame matcha. The cafe was not busy at all, and service was quick, but a bit lackluster. The staff weren't super friendly, and it seemed like they didn't really want to be there. The matcha was definitely pretty, layered with black sesame sweet cream and swirl, but had so much ice in it that there wasn't a lot of actual matcha to drink. Overall, the flavor was really solid, it definitely made me want more drink, and less ice, for the nearly $9 I paid. The space is cute, and has ample seating, and fits in perfectly on Old Main Street in Bellevue. I definitely want to give this spot another try, and maybe try a concoction with a little less pizzaz to get the taste of their true matcha flavor. read more

It was very spacious and very colorful inside. Lots of pink all around. The service was good. It was a friendly and simple interaction to get my order and drink out. I have been hesitant on trying the matcha from Matcha Magic because I have heard mixed reviews and opinions. Instead, I opted to order one of their popular smoothies, the Strawberry Glaze. The total for my smoothie came out to be $14.34. The smoothie consists of banana, strawberry, avocado, dates, collagen, tremella, and almond milk topped with coconut cream and swirled with house-made strawberry puree. Matcha Magic feels like the closest local version of an Erewhon-style smoothie outside of Joe & The Juice. I tried the Strawberry Glaze and understood the hype right away. It was rich, balanced, and satisfying without feeling too heavy. Compared to Erewhon smoothies, this one was more drinkable and less icy, which I preferred. Definitely mix it before drinking since the strawberry purée settles at the bottom and gets very sweet. The shop is cute and conveniently located in old downtown Bellevue near the park, making it an easy stop during a walk. They also let me briefly bring my dog inside while placing a takeout order, which I appreciated. For the price, it feels fair given the quality and ingredients. My partner and I joke that this place is why we moved to the eastside because wowwwww wowowowowwowow. I don't think I've ever loved a cafe this much since moving from my hometown nyc like 4 years ago the drinks are SO good (I've tried to recreate them at home and...to no avail). My first time visiting Matcha Magic, and unfortunately it wasn't a great experience. As soon as I walked in, the two girls working there greeted me very coldly. It honestly felt like they didn't want me there. I ordered my matcha and waited, and when it was ready, they simply placed it on the counter without saying a word while continuing their conversation. I was the only customer there that early in the morning, yet they didn't even seem to notice when I left. The matcha was okay, but the customer service made me feel completely unwelcome. MATCHA MAGIC @ BELLEVUE Parking is a bit difficult here since it's right off the main road in Downtown Bellevue, so it's mostly street parking. Luckily, I was able to find a spot. Most street parking is free for up to 2 hours. I'd also recommend parking by Macy's and walking about 10 minutes to the matcha place (you'll pass the park), or parking near Bellevue Downtown Park, though that area can get very busy. I ordered two items through my ClassPass account, which cost me 11 credits (about $25 total). I got the Strawberry Matcha and their Banana Split Açaí Bowl, which has a coconut and açaí base with honey, cacao nibs, banana, strawberries, granola, and honey. The açaí bowl was $14, and the matcha was around $8. Overall, I absolutely loved the matcha. It was strong on the matcha flavor and lighter on the strawberry, but still very delicious and clearly high quality. The açaí bowl was a miss for me, I've definitely had better quality with more toppings for $14. That said, it was decent, and I really enjoyed the coconut base since it felt light and refreshing. I wouldn't recommend getting this however. Overall, I loved the vibe of this place. It's very spacious, and I'd definitely come back for the matcha and to get some work done. I want to preface this by saying my five star rating is for one drink: Strawberry Hojicha. And it is, by far, my favorite hojicha in Bellevue. There are 3 cafes I go to on the regular for my hojicha fix: Magic Matcha, Tendon Kohaku, and Bobae in Kirkland. While I enjoy all three, Magic Matcha is my favorite. The roasted tea flavor is strong, they allow me to adjust the sweetness level, and the flavor of the drink is always consistent. I've had issues with Tendon and Bobae either changing up the brand or the roast or adding too much milk on any given day. One of my gfs loves their horchata hojicha so there's that. I tasted it and it was objectively good. I wouldn't get it only because I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon, but if I were, it would be another go-to drink. read more

Realistically, my review is a high 3 stars, like a 3.7-3.9, and is mostly weighed down by the fact that the matcha latte was meh. Not awful, not I'll-never-drink-again-bad, but meh. I've been here twice, once a few years ago with my cousins, and another three days ago. The people working were attentive and quick with their service. The ambiance of the place is cute, a lot of pink and green, very instagram-worthy, and I saw a few people with friends or working on their laptop so it seems like a great place vibe-wise. To expand on my matcha critique, I found the color to be a little on the green-yellow side, which isn't the end all- be all quality indicator for matcha, but I find matcha lattes that are more rich in color tend to taste better and this tasted like a matcha drink I could make with costco matcha. I've made some decent lattes with costco matcha but once I switched to the more higher quality ones, well, it sorta refined my tastes. There isn't a lot of parking, and to be fair, a lot of people who are in downtown Bellevue are parked elsewhere else and likely just meander their way to the cafe. However, if you're coming in by car, I'd suggest parking by the apartments nearby, DO NOT park at the Chase Bank lot, even if the bank itself is closed (learned my lesson...). Overall, a 3.7-3.9. Could be better. Maybe with other additives like cold foam or strawberries, the drink is better, but I'm judging based off the basic latte. read more

So happy to finally try here! And again I should temper my expectations... As part of my early birthday celebration, my friend and I came here around 12pm after a meal elsewhere to give this place a shot. It's pretty chill inside, with several tables near the entrance and near the counter where drinks are made. There's even a table near the back entrance where you can sit at as well. The pink walls and several neon lights with funny quotes add a cutesy picturesque feel especially when you get to sit inside. Though I used street parking near the Downtown Bellevue Park, you can actually utilize the small parking lot right next to this place to get 1 hour free parking if needed. This location specializes in drinks made with matcha in many ways, which was pretty appealing to me and my friend to the point where we had a hard time deciding what we each wanted. I ended up getting the purple rain, which has lavender, ube puree, oat milk as a default and matcha sweet cream. This was delicious, and the matcha undertones were perfectly strong and floral throughout. I will say that the ube and lavender mix ever so slightly overpowers the drink when mixing the whole thing, so I'd probably not stir the drink the whole way and try to get sips of both the matcha and ube separately to get a feel of how powerful each part is individually. My friend got their matcha horchata, and unfortunately he was disappointed with his drink overall. Ironically, the matcha overpowered the horchata and the ice in his drink very quickly watered his drink down. It's actually great to know that this place doesn't skimp on their matcha, but there was an imbalance between the matcha and horchata when I had several sips of his drink, especially at the very beginning and the very end where either the matcha or water took over. Despite all this, I'd come back again to try some of their other drinks, and maybe chill there longer for even more photo ops. I'm currently eyeing the cookies and cream matcha for my next visit! read more

Stopped by Matcha Magic and I'd give it a solid 4 stars! I tried the Oreo & matcha mix and while the matcha flavor was a little on the stronger side, you could still taste the cookies & cream which made it pretty tasty overall. My friend got the toasted matchamallow latte--it was okay, nothing too crazy but still fun to try. We also had the house avocado toast, really good toast. The olive oil really compliments the tomatoes and makes the whole bite feel super fresh. All the girlies working there are so sweet, and the cafe itself is the cutest pink vibe. Went in today for another visit to get my kiddo an after camp smoothie with my toddler in tow. We order the Strawberry Glaze smoothie and asked if it could be split for my kiddos to which I'm told yes, but not given notice that they charge $2 to split cup. I already think $14 is a bit steep for a smoothie, but they are good and convenient to my location so we still come in. When I was surprised by my tab- the employee tells me they have to charge us because more ingredients are needed when they split the cup. To me- it looks like I'm getting exactly the same amount of ingredients and smoothie as a normal size order, but just an additional cup. $16.58 for a smoothie seems like too steep a price to pay in my opinion. I guess maybe it's cuz we don't have an Erewhon nearby to make this place seem like a reasonable price. Anyways- better communication about the up charge at least would be good. read more

Decided to check out Matcha magic. Such a great name When you walk in the store is clean and really cute. There are some tables outside if you wanna sit outside also. Nice verse menu you can get some tasty sounding bites, but I decided to just try one of the Matcha drinks I decided to try a Horchata Matcha. I love a good Horchata and I with Matcha. Let's do it. The staff was very friendly. Placed my order and was very comfortable waiting a short time for my drink to be ready. I found the combination of the Matcha with the Horchata very pleasing. The Matcha balance the sweetness of the Horchata so you got a nice sweetness without being overwhelmed. I look forward to going back and checking out some of the other foods read more
