Haven't been here since 2 years ago. It was our go to place for good taiwanese chinese food. Restrooms: male and female restrooms Parking: plenty of free shared retail parking Menu: Chinese and English menu. Seating: plenty of big round tables for big parties Reservation: via phone We ordered: Pepper salt pork chops Honey walnut prawn Sweet sour intestines pork blood tofu dish Black pepper beef Sichuan shrimp tofu Stir fry Green bean w ground pork Crispy noddle w veggie gravy Steam seabass [forgot the sauce] Fried pancake redbean filling [not in picture] my fav. Overall food quality has gone down. Everything is super salty. Still like my seabass tho. Service is good, they are always there ready. However, the food took longer than normal which is wierd, there's only 4 other tables besides ours.

My family has visited Yea's Wok several times over the years and most recently, we picked up takeout to bring over to my grandmother for lunch. The service has always been friendly, and their King County health rating of "Excellent" stands out against other Chinese restaurants in general. We ordered four dishes, all of which we thought were alright. We wouldn't say any of them were extremely flavorful, but we would rather have that as opposed to them being overly salty. + MOO SHU PORK: I normally don't gravitate towards this dish, but I actually enjoyed it the most. Thin pieces of pork were mixed with a medley of vegetables including cabbage, carrots and mushrooms. The pork was tender and lean, while the cabbage retained a bit of crunch. The pancakes provided were thin, but held up well to the filing as we all made our little wraps. + COMBINATION CHOW MEIN: This was a typical chow mein with soft noodles, vegetables, chicken and seafood. It was okay, but nothing too memorable. The highlight for me was the snappy little shrimps. + GREEN BEANS w/ MINCED PORK: While the sauce coating these beans had a nice savory garlic flavor, the beans themselves were overcooked. Rather than having a crunch, most of them were wilted and soft. For some reason, they had an undertone of what tasted like a pickled flavor which was really strange, but luckily, it wasn't too strong. + PEPPER BEEF: Since we were bringing food to my grandma, we asked to tone down the spice on this dish, but by doing that, it may have lost some of its spark. The beef was tender and I enjoyed the various vegetables (bell peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, carrots) included, but the sauce also fell flat. One of their signature dishes is the Volcano Fried Rice, which I've had before. It's their fried rice with a reddish sauce that includes a mix of vegetables and meat, served upside down with the sauce cascading over the top, representing a volcano. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of fried rice in general, but I give it to them in terms of creativity! While I wouldn't necessarily order the above items again, I'd go back to try other dishes from their menu, given our positive experiences in the past. 3.25 stars.

We had lunch today at Yea's Wok in Newcastle, and while the service started off great, the food was pretty underwhelming this time around. We were seated and greeted very quickly, and got our water and menus almost immediately, which we appreciated. However, it took quite a while to get our soup, which is unusual here since it's normally brought out almost right after you choose between egg flower or hot and sour. I ordered the Mongolian beef, and my wife had the mushu chicken. Unfortunately, both dishes missed the mark. The chicken was room temperature or cooler and very bland, and there wasn't nearly enough plum sauce for the amount of food on the plate. The Mongolian beef was very tender, but also flavorless and really needed more seasoning or sauce to bring it to life. It was a slow lunch hour, quiet in the restaurant which is usual, so maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen -- Thursdays might be the "B team," because the food definitely wasn't up to their usual standards. We actually love coming here and usually look forward to a solid, reliable meal, which made this visit extra disappointing. Hoping this was just a one-off, because we've had much better experiences in the past.

Good and solid option for the Newcastle area and especially on the Eastside. The slat and pepper calamari here is one of my favorites in the area. The food is always hot and fresh. Every dish we have had here is always packed with authentic flavors. This place can get busy and the dining area in the main area is compact. The "waiting area" is essentially non existent. So if you have to wait for a table, you'll probably end up waiting in your vehicle. Calling in orders for to go is highly encouraged. Otherwise you end up waiting sitting in a chair feeling uncomfortable bc there is very limited space entering and leaving the restaurant. Not the most ideal set up so you'll end up waiting in your vehicle. The servings are family style and big portions. You won't be disappointed.

Been Coming here since I was a kid and it has been consistently decent Taiwanese food. The food were great. My favorite was the eggplant dish. Kids loved the noodles with meat sauce. Their walnut shrimp was perfectly fried with yummy walnuts. Basil with beef was also flavorful. The stirfry noodle was on the soggy side. Chicken in the clay pot was very fragrant! Forgot to order the hot and sour soup today but it is always good :) Service was excellent. We celebrated a birthday with a cake. They place the cake for us in the fridge during the meal and supplied us with little plates and knife for us to do the birthday celebration there! (Even turned down the lights for 5 second ) :). Really appreciate the small thoughtful gesture. Tea was $1pp.

Yea's Wok will always be our favorite Chinese/Taiwanese restaurant. Food is excellent, service is great, ambience is homey. It's a go to place for any occasion. Owner and servers are always attentive. Favorite dishes: Camphor Wood and Tea Smoked Duck, Mongolian beef, General Tsao's chicken, Buddhist delight with seafood and chow mein.

Extremely dissapointed because I've been searching for a Chinese restaurant and found out this one was fairly close to me...but I will NOT go back. $60 for 3 dishes (Hot and Sour Soup, General TSao's Chicken, Orange Beef). Hot and Sour soup was probably the best thing if I had to choose, but they put every mushroom that was grown in Newcastle in the soup. The chicken and beef I'd have to chew and then spit out because it wasn't consumable. Honestly can't remember the last time I wasted $60 like this... don't go

Friendly staff and good Chinese in the Renton / Newcastle neighborhood. Nice to not have to drive into the city of Seattle for authentic / good Chinese food. Menu had a good variety. Some of my favorites were the Happy Family dish with seafood, protein, and veggies. Also liked the green beans, walnut prawns, and house noodles. We also had the pepper steak, prawns, Mongolian beef, black bean clams. Everything was good. Would recommend and will be coming back for sure.

Good place to get large portion sizes of Chinese lunch specials! Quick and friendly service. Well, it's not the best lunch special that I've had, they do give big portion sizes, it is a bit on the sweeter side, the chicken with cashew tasted like teriyaki. Overall great spot.

I found the dishes to be affordable and fairly big here. The taste of each dish wasn't bad either and my favorite was the eggplant for sure. I think the service was pretty good and I got my water filled pretty often. The space can get quite busy, so don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit. Overall, I think this place isn't pretty good and would recommend it.

My last visit here was actually at its Kirkland location, so it's my first time here in their Newcastle location, which has a large parking lot that it shares with other neighboring businesses. I'm not sure what I got from here about 3 years ago but I do remember loving it a lot. This time I got their braised pork ribs rice vermicelli soup while my friend got what looked like their 12-spice beef noodle soup, both of which were decent when I had mines and tasted some of my friend's bowl. Soup is rich and relatively clean in flavor despite it not being clear soup, and vermicelli noodles went well with the broth. Pork ribs retained a lot of their taste even after being in the soup, but that's because the soup itself was really salty. My friend's soup for his order wasn't too spicy, and was about as salty as my order. We both agreed that we've had much better noodle soups in similar locations elsewhere, be it somewhere else in Bellevue or around the Bay Area. Regardless, I did love what I had and was satisfied enough to grab some dessert after. I might come back, be it at this location or the one in Kirkland.

First thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was that the prices are very LA, but before you let that deter you, hear me out: the portion sizes are significantly larger than what you'd get for the same price back home. So in terms of value, you're actually getting a much better deal out here in Redmond. One thing that genuinely caught me off guard; they let me bring my puppy. If you're from LA or the 626, you already know that's basically unheard of. Redmond, Washington is on a whole different level when it comes to being pet friendly, and I loved every second of it. As for the food, it was great overall. The mala wasn't too numbing, which I appreciated, it had just enough kick without overwhelming everything else. The garlic a-choy was perfect, honestly no notes. The braised pork belly was good but I wished it was a touch softer, and I personally felt like my dishes could've used a little more salt or soy sauce, but that's an easy fix and purely personal preference. Would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Parking was super easy, which is always a plus. The restaurant is located in a large shopping area surrounded by other food spots and grocery stores, so there's plenty of space and no stress trying to find a spot. As soon as we walked in, the space felt bright, clean, and welcoming. It had a fresh, well-kept feel that immediately made us comfortable. We were seated right away since it wasn't very busy at the time, which we appreciated. The gentleman who greeted and seated us was incredibly kind and patient. He introduced us to their online ordering system which was new to me, haha, but he made the whole process feel easy. He happily answered our questions and even offered thoughtful recommendations, which we really appreciated. We decided to order a few dishes to share family-style: chow mein, wontons in chili sauce, fried rice, and beef with broccoli. Setting everything in the middle and sharing made the experience feel even more warm and connected. The food overall was really enjoyable, and you could tell care went into how everything was prepared. The chow mein was especially nice because they were willing to adjust it to my mom's preference, which says a lot about their flexibility and service. The noodles had a great texture, soft with just the right amount of bite. The wontons in chili sauce had a rich, flavorful taste with a gentle heat that built slowly but never became overwhelming. It had just the right kick to keep things interesting while still letting the flavors come through. The sauce paired beautifully with the wontons and added a nice depth to each bite. The beef with broccoli was probably my favorite dish of the night. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and not overdone at all so it still had a slight crunch that gave it a really fresh feel. The beef was tender and soaked up the sauce nicely, and the sauce itself was savory, smooth, and full of flavor without being too salty or overpowering. Everything about that dish felt balanced and satisfying. The fried rice was solid, simple, comforting, and exactly what you expect from a classic fried rice. It wasn't anything overly fancy, but it was well-made and paired nicely with the other dishes. Sometimes simple done right is all you need. Overall, it was a really enjoyable dining experience. Between the kind service, the clean and inviting atmosphere, and the flavorful prepared food, it made for a lovely night out with my family. I'd definitely come back again and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, satisfying meal.

Very nice in terms of everything! We went for lunch here on a Friday. We did make a reservation in…read moreadvance but it was not crowded, so I would think walking in would be okay too in lunch hours. But this is a really upscale place and assume the place runs at full capacity during dinner hours. There is parking under the building and you can get your parking ticket validated by your server before leaving - so no stress with parking in downtown. Yes, this is an expensive place but since we were here during lunch hours, we were able to take advantage of the Executive Lunch - Set menu for $45 per person. Among us 3 people, we were able to taste everything available in that set menu and every single dish was amazing - like truly, from presentation to flavors, especially the 3 appetizers - so so very good! This is everything we had - Starters - 1. Sunchoke Cebiche - must try 2. Roquitas Nikkei - must try 3. Clásico Cebiche - must try Main 1. Wild Mushroom Saltado 2. Lomo Saltado 3. Arroz con Mariscos Dessert 1. Tres Leches de Coco - must try Service was very well timed. We had an amazing time. Great place for a team lunch/dinner. Location is perfect, heart of downtown but none of the road noise or human traffic. A wonderful add to downtown Bellevue!

I took my husband here for a birthday lunch and if it's just for the food, I would give it a 4.5/5…read more The food was excellent with one with one bad part but not enough to deter us from all the other foods. Eggplant dish -berenjena criolla 5/5 -- favorite dish of the day. Love that you can still taste a bit of the fried texture on the eggplant and flavor was nutty, creamy, and citrusy. Achupado 3/5 - this was a good dish, there was a variety of seafood and they were all good except for the octopus. That was inedible. I wished they cut it to smaller pieces so it can be eaten easier or give us a knife but as is, it was way too tough and chewy. Flavors was spot on, I do wish they gave more noodles to absorb the sauce Ceviche tasting - 5/5 love the variety. All of them was fresh, tangy and flavorful Complimentary corn - 5/5 this was addicting Service 3/5 : our server was very knowledgeable, he gave us a little of a tour of the menu, cam check on us a couple of times. However, I wish he would have clearly explained that the executive lunch was for the whole table, not just individual. Also, cleaning our table while we are still there is a bit rude in my opinion, almost feel like they are rushing us out. The place is fancy and very very pricey. Good for special occasions or once in a while splurge.

Order via QR code at the table and pay there, or I think you can order at the front counter. They bring the food to your table. Self serve water, cutlery and small bowls. Menu is mainly noodles and rice. They have dishes from different Chinese cuisines, but are more known for Hunan-style. My friend from Hunan recommended I get the beef combo rice noodle soup. I got the default wide noodles, but you can pick the thinner round noodles. Came out pretty quickly after ordering. Decent sized bowl, with a variety of beef offal pieces like tripe, tendon, maybe even intestine along with some meat pieces. Also has daikon and bok choy. The soup is slightly spicy and peppery, but not overly so. Nice savory flavor. Price was $20+ with tax and tip. Solid place for a quick bowl of noodles or rice.

Whoa! This place is so close to my office and I never knew about it!!…read more I got the pickled long beans dish and I think from what I saw was the only one that had "enough" vegetables-- the others were very meat focused/biased. It was interesting that they hid the bokchoy on the bottom of the bowls- I wonder if they were raw and only cooked with the dish poured on top? But the food was delicious and the broth was great and the price was fine and I would be happy to come back here if I had reason to. (My office...gives me food, so I'm not all that likely to come here on a weekday, unfortunately.) We came as a large party, and the only large party seating they have is on bar stools, which isn't my favorite. But they have plenty of small ones for 2-4 people!
