Fresh Spring Rolls (shrimp) Combo Pho Shrimp & Pork Noodle Soup
    Esther L.

We decided to get takeout from here because we saw the good ratings online. We ordered Fresh Spring Rolls (shrimp), Combo Pho, and Shrimp & Pork Noodle Soup. After coming home, we realized they forgot to give us sauce even though we marked it on the order form. The portion size was pretty small for the price so that was kind of disappointing. The taste of the food was good though. I liked the the fresh spring rolls had more varieties of veggies and fillings than normal. The amount of proteins and noodles in the two other dishes was lacking. The flavor was nice.

Giving them 2 stars for really great service, but the food was a bit disappointing. We rolled into Happy Autumn for our first time with high hopes of trying a new place. We were pretty hungry since we just finished a workout, the staff were very kind, professional, and attentive from the beginning to end. We ordered the steak and meatball pho and the special combo cơm tấm (broken rice). We substituted the pork chop with their grilled chicken. Our pho experience: we tried the broth without putting anything in it to see how their original flavors were, and boy was it SWEET. Like, actually super sweet. I drowned it in Sriracha to hopefully counter the sweetness but it didn't help too much. Other than the sweetness of the broth, the soup lacked flavoring the actual pho aroma and flavor we were hoping for. It was also a tad oily unfortunately. The noodles and meat were fine but it was hard to enjoy due to the broth. The cơm tấm (broken rice) was no hero either. The broken rice chicken came out on the sweeter side too -- was really hoping for that smoky, savory kick, but got more of a sugar-glazed surprise. And the egg was a bit over fried, it was a little tough and rubbery, but the rice itself was nice. I think this place has a lot of potential because the restaurant and staff were great as long as they work a little more on their flavors.

An extra star for the most friendly service ever! They treat you with so much love and are there at every step including packing the leftovers! The chicken fried rice was the best! We ordered 3 stars and it fit well in our spice level. The pho ga (chicken pho) was also great. The tofu spring rolls were good, the peanut sauce could have been better. It was a little watery than being a little more viscous. And yes, the mural is amazing, you tend to keep looking at it always!

I got to try this Vietnamese restaurant for the first time recently, and was surprised that I hadn't been in sooner since I'm pretty familiar with the area. Their dining space was huge and had enough seating for groups or solo diners; service was quick and attentive; food was fresh and delicious! I got the combo bùn (vermicelli salad bowl) and a Vietnamese iced coffee, and really enjoyed my whole meal. I got their short ribs and fried egg rice plate as takeout and that was really tasty and well portioned too! I will definitely be back here to try more of their menu.

I learned about this place with a little sign on the street and was curious about their food. The inside is nice and very spacious. I came before the lunch crowd so it was quieter. I ordered a small combo pho and the lime soda. The broth lacked a lot of flavor. I'm not tasting much when it comes to spices. The little plate that held the bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, basil, and lime wedges were fairly small. I could have used a few more pieces of basil. It was alright but it can be better. The broth is what makes the dish. I might seek other places for pho but may come back to try their other dishes.

    Kung pao chicken

The servers were super nice, the vibe and atmosphere is great as well, they had cooking on TV which was cool and nice music. I love kung pao chicken, so I got it. I asked if it had bell peppers and the server said sure. When it came, it was pretty much just chicken and bell peppers In sauce on a bed of like hard fried noodles that I didn't like at all. It came with rice but the hard noodle things were all over the meal. Not a fan. I will probably be back to try their pho, because it seems like a really nice restaurant, I just feel like they should have just put it right on the rice or next to it. The hard noodle things are unnecessary.

wow! the foods was super fresh and handmade. Owner served us because we came in around 8:30. the food we ordered i got the porkchop and rice, and my daughter ordered chicken glass noodle soup. it was delicious. the vegetable salad with mine was super crisp and fresh. loved this place and will come again! There were allot of really cool fish tanks with Vietnamese specific fish. I loved all of this and watching the owner feed the fish. they all swam over to him for food.

I went to see my dentist and saw that this place opened up next door! Though I would treat myself since I hate going to the dentist! I must say, the Food is really great! The spring rolls are super fresh and tasty. And the Pho was a very healthy serving with just the right amount of broth. Sometimes there's too much noodle per broth ratio and I have to order a side of soup. The service was great. Stephen was very friendly and fast! This place is a little hidden but I know once it catches on, it will be super packed. Come on by, you will love it.

At Happy Autumn in Renton today we began with two well-seasoned chicken skewers accompanied by a side of cucumbers, daikon, and carrots, finished with a sprinkle of peanuts and scallions. I like that the actual skewers had already been removed! For my main course, I chose the small Rare Beef And Brisket Pho, featuring a robust and flavorful broth, with perfectly thin slices of rare beef and brisket, along with onions and cilantro. Additionally, we ordered the large Tofu & Veggie Pho, which was a wholesome offering of clear broth, rice noodles, tofu, and an assortment of vegetables including carrots, cabbage, bok choy, bean sprouts, and fresh mushrooms, garnished with green onions and cilantro. While I have a preference for meat and found the beef broth particularly satisfying, the vegetable pho was a solid option for those preferring a plant-based meal. (I'm basically saying the beef broth was tastier though!) The staff was welcoming, and parking was conveniently accessible. The overall value for the quality and amount of food was very reasonable. A return visit is certainly in order.

The food is AMAZING! If you are needing to find a great place to eat something new, you have to come to Happy Autumn. And what better time of the year than Autumn, to come and get yourself a little something yummy. The staff are very attentive and check on you often. The restaurant AND restrooms are very clean. Great place to bring groups or just a couple. Every time we come here, the service and expectations are consistent. You MUST try Happy Autumn!

Pretty good hidden gem for Vietnamese food in Renton! Very large restaurant with a wide variety of options, perfect for large parties and family meals! I had the deluxe broken rice (com tam) and my friends all had their pho. We all enjoyed the meal a lot! I wasn't too hungry going into the meal and wasn't expecting to finish, but the broken rice was so good I considered ordering seconds! Good portion size. I also loved the service here. We were helped by a friendly young man that was extremely helpful and attentive. Prices being a bit high is my only complaint. FYI - there was a 20% off coupon for checking in on Yelp as of the time of this review, but the restaurant confirmed this is expired and they no longer accept it.

My takeout was well packed. This is the R9. SPECIAL COMBO W/ BROKEN RICE

I ordered the broken rice special and it was delicious! I cannot wait to come back to check out what else is on their menu.

Park in the garage and then validate your parking; it looks pricey but it's completely free if you validate it. I love the attention to detail on the menu. It's split by region, which is cool - I am not familiar with Vietnamese regional cuisines, so scrolling through the menu is a learning experience for me. - Northern crab rolls: 2/5, felt a bit heavy for an app - Beef skewers: 5/5, really nice sauce - Golden pho pillows: 4/5, interesting concept and I liked the pillows - Water fern cakes: 4/5, another interesting concept - Hanoi pork vermicelli: 3/5, generally good but didn't feel special - Fish sauce caramel coffee: 5/5, I quite enjoyed this Overall, the food was good. I wasn't impressed with the service, though. We ordered 3 starters, a small dish, and a main dish. All our food came out around the same time, randomly... which led to our food getting cold because we couldn't eat fast enough. I was disappointed that they didn't think through the serving order. I was also served the wrong drink; of course they corrected that. And finally, perhaps because we sat in the back, it was really hard to get our server's attention at the end! I'd definitely come back despite that. The food was good and it's such a pretty location.

Recently, I kept hearing from people that it had gotten a lot better, which is why I decided to bring my mom here for Mother's Day since she loves Vietnamese food. Overall, I would still describe this visit as pretty mediocre. It was not terrible, but it was definitely not worth the price point in my opinion, especially after spending over $400. There were a few dishes I genuinely enjoyed. What we ordered: Liked / okay: * Pho-spiced ribs: tender and flavorful, but expensive for what it is * Lemongrass pork belly: the standout dish. Crispy, juicy, and very flavorful * Shaking wagyu salad: the beef was tender, but it needed more salt. It could benefit from some more oyster sauce or fish sauce * Water spinach with garlic: Good * Southern pork egg rolls: Crispy and enjoyable, but the dipping sauce tasted watered down and lacked flavor Didn't really enjoy: * Clay pot fish: overly sweet and quite fatty. The fish itself was tender * King salmon sour soup: also very sweet. It needed more acidity and sourness, like tamarind * Villagers pork belly: the only noticeably salty dish. It had a strong porky fermented flavor that was good, but it really needs rice and fresh vegetables like cucumber to balance it * Lemongrass clams: fairly plain. The dipping sauce was the same watered-down sauce as the egg rolls * Calamansi margarita: extremely sour and overpowering * Spiked coconut with rum: it was warm, which made it less enjoyable Overall, most dishes leaned too sweet for my taste. Southeast Asian food is usually a balance of sweet, spicy, salty, and sour. Here, the sweetness often overpowered everything else. There were also quite a few items sold out when we arrived around 5 PM. I was not sure if they had been sold out for a while or just for the evening. As for service, ordering is done through an iPad. The first one to two rounds of food came out quickly. However, anything we ordered afterward, like extra rice or additional sides, either took a very long time or never came at all. We also tried using the call function on the iPad, but no one came over. I am not sure if they were short staffed or if the system was not being monitored. The restaurant itself was not busy at the time. Since many of the entrées are meant to be eaten with rice, this disrupted the flow of the meal quite a bit. At one point, we just ate everything without rice because we were hungry and did not want to keep waiting. That said, the staff we did interact with were very kind. Overall, I do not think I would come back for a full dinner again. I might stop in just for happy hour drinks and a few small bites since they have a nice water view!

One member of the group is vegetarian, hence a reason why we ended up going to a vegetarian restaurant for our first meal during our trip. Blossom Vegetarian is located on the southwest corner of 3rd and Burnett. We came in three cars, and the lot immediately in front of the restaurant can only hold about a dozen cars. The adjacent lot has more spots, but all three of us were able to find spots easily when we arrived. That's likely because we had arrived a few minutes prior to opening, so the door was locked when I tried to open it. Right at 11 AM, an employee came out with a signicade to place in front of the front door. Shortly afterwards, we entered and sat at a table for 8, which I found kind of odd because they had tables of 4 and 8, but not 6. Our table had a sign advertising a limited time special, which was Hanoi Beef Fried Rice at the time*. However, we were interested in the lunch specials, which were available weekdays from 11 AM to 2 PM. Knowing that our schedule wouldn't have allowed for a lunch special any other time during our trip, we went for lunch specials, which mainly consists of rice combos. Rice combos at Blossom Cafe come with rice, either jasmine or brown, the latter of which would incur a $1 upcharge. The combo also includes an option for a juice or coffee, and if you choose either, you get $1 off. With plenty of rice combos to choose from, two of them chose the same lunch combo while the rest of us went with different lunch combos, but shared family-style with one another. I chose the Blossom Rice Combo, which consists of shredded "pork", tofu pie, "beef" skewer, and vegetables alongside a lime vinaigrette dressing. I'm not too certain of the other combos, but I do know that the Cashew Chicken was another combo, and that's because one of my groupmates heard it was their most popular dish. Since I prefer brown rice over white (jasmine) rice, I opted for the $1 upcharge for the brown rice. Between the coffee and the juice, I went with a coffee since I was needing some after a long morning of traveling. They have four choices of Vietnamese Coffee: Cheese Cafe, Cafe Latte, Dalgona Cafe, and Cafe Sua. I went with the Cafe Latte, which consists of both condensed and whole milk. The coffee drinks can come either hot or iced. For whatever reason, everybody else ordered the iced drinks, but I went with hot knowing I'd have to brave the pretty chilly weather outside. It took about 13 minutes for the kitchen to prepare our orders, and then we feasted! The coffee was ready about a minute before the main dishes arrived. Everything tasted good, but I wouldn't say great, though that's probably because I'm not vegetarian. However, rest assured that all their meats aren't real meat, and this is indicated by the use of quotation marks encompassing the meat names. You can definitely tell these meats are truly vegetarian, though it took a few bites for me to discern the vegetarianism of the "beef" skewer. The brown rice tasted kind of odd. I don't quite know how to describe it, but it was way different than the brown rice I'm used to e.g. Flame Broiler. The rice tasted pretty meh by itself, but exhibited a much more elevated flavor profile after adding the lime vinaigrette, which I'm thinking was actually a fish sauce. But that Cafe Latte was smoooooooooooth. Just what I needed after not getting enough z's the previous evening. Since I ordered mine hot, my coffee came in a mug while the others who ordered iced coffee got theirs in a wine glass. These coffees supplemented the glasses of water we were given when we placed our orders. Service, unfortunately, was quite slow, so exercise patience! We were the first customers to eat there, and there were a few others who came in after we did. We stayed there for over an hour even though I think we could have gotten in and out in much less time. They didn't really check on us even though there were very few other customers inside as well; I guess we were supposed to proactively go up to the counter to let them know when we were ready to order as well as pay. 2026 calendars were available for purchase at a cost of $20, cash only. I don't know how many people would constitute a "large" party, but we were considered one, which resulted in an 18% gratuity fee that was already added to our individual bills. One of our groupmates, who was fluent in Vietnamese, needed to let the server know prior to paying. So overall, Blossom Vegetarian is a decent spot for vegetarians; I just wouldn't recommend for a quick lunch break since service is nowhere near as quick. * My visit was back in November. I waited until January to post this review as I took a brief hiatus from posting reviews upon traveling to the Pacific Northwest.

The edges around the tables, walls, and planters were also very dusty and dirty. It honestly made us wonder what "extras" might be making their way into the food. My friends got a lemonade with tea, Thai tea, shaking beef and combo vermicelli while my boyfriend got the shaking beef and egg rolls and I got the Bun Bo Hue and spring rolls. My boyfriend got his egg rolls and I didn't get my spring rolls until after everyone's' order came in so I have a feeling that the employee who took our order forgot or the kitchen forgot. There was no apology or anything for it either. I got my food first, after several minutes the shaking beef came out and after another a while my friend got his vermicelli bowl. Luckily we weren't pressed for time but it made it awkward as we didn't get our food at the same time and it took a bit to get them. I am a slow eater so I guess it worked out that I got mine first but I also didn't receive my spring rolls until I brought it up once we received everything else. The food was phenomenal and our friends said their drinks were perfect too. I did enjoy my Bun Bo Hue, though I did make it a bit more spicier with their chili oil. They have plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate all party sizes. They do have a bathroom but you have to go through a long, scary hallway to get to it. The tables have probably the cutest container for their chili oil but I appreciate that they have napkins, sriracha, hoisin, and utensils on the table. The employees don't really check in often and they didn't really come by to fill our waters until we were down with our meal. The service was also pretty much non-existent, it wasn't rude but just felt rushed and cold.
