Taiwanese food done right. Ordered the pork belly bao, Taiwanese beef noodle soup (combo #2) and Lo-Rou Fan rice. At first it looked like a lot of food but we finished it all. Nice change from ramen. Flavorful and satisfying. Clean restaurant, friendly service and lots of seating. Go check them out

I was pleasantly surprised by this spot! My favorite part is definitely being able to upgrade the side rice to the lu rou fan (pork over rice) for only a small fee. I usually find that the rice isn't enough for a meal by itself but when paired with something like the pork chop or popcorn chicken, it makes for a delicious hearty meal! good portions for the price. Service was quick and minimalistic just the way I like it and it was a great environment to catch up with a friend. I am curious about their beef noodle soup, especially when there is a nuodle right next door, but that'll be an investigation for next time!

Nice, authentic Taiwanese restaurant. The staff here are like aunty and uncle styles. Like the beef noodle soup, hope the beef could in different cutting style and more tender. But overall I like this place for a quick meal.

MonGa Cafe is an adorable, neighborhood Taiwanese joint. I went for dinner around 7PM on a Thursday and there was a short wait for dine in with a bunch of folks picking up to-go orders. They share a large parking lot with Asian Family Mart and pricing is is reasonable enough with some of the combo meals clocking in just over 15 bucks. MonGa Combo (4/5): Lu Rou Fan is pretty great, but I wish the ratio of meat to rice was a little higher. Loved the fish ball soup - super light and perfectly savory. Would probably be my go-to! Pork Chop w/ Rice (4/5): I thought it would be a fried pork chop, but it's actually grilled. Flavor is great and till very moist with just a bit of a chew. Popcorn Chicken (3.75/5): Texture wise, this is perfection - meat is super soft with a perfect crunch outside. Flavor wise, I unfortunately thought it was a little bland. Golden Buckwheat Tea (4/5): Expensive, but it was delicious. Super fragrant, not bitter at all, and just slightly sweet.

PROS: Staff are super nice and friendly - also bilingual (English & Mandarin)! Authentic Taiwanese food! Noodles are nice and chewy and boba is SO good. The tea is strong and roasty hehe and perf amount of sugar CONS: The dumpling sauce was a little too peanuty and meat in the rice had A LOT of fat chunks in it. Ik it's supposed to be like that (don't come for me) but trust me when I say there was A LOT. IG:Spillingthe.beans

One of my favorite places to get Taiwanese food! They have meal sets that involve rice, soup, and some side dishes. The service is also fast and the interior is nice and clean.

Not sure why the reviews are so low - the food is really tasty here! The menu has a wide selection and also drinks + dessert. Ordered pork belly over rice + a beef noodle soup combo. The beef noodle soup is probably the best in Seattle- very flavorful and tender beef. I think a lot of criticism in past reviews was on the service but everyone was friendly to me. I could also just be used to Chinese restaurant type of service lol. This is def going to be on my regular rotation.

Ordered the beef noodle soup, beef tendon noodles, pork trotter rice bowl, and stinky tofu. The noodle soups had really good portions and the soup was not too salty. 9/10 The pork trotters in the rice bowl was sooo good! They were really tender and the pickles were well seasoned. 9/10 The stinky tofu wasn't as crispy as I thought they were going to be. I think the sauce they made balanced out the dryness of the tofu well. Slightly spicy but also has a sweet aftertaste. I did find a piece of hair stuck in the sauce though so that def brought my rating down a little. 8/10 The waitress was super nice though! She was really attentive and made sure we got our food quickly. She also made a lot of good recs for food and tea drinks. The restaurant had a lot of pictures of the owner on the wall which was really cute!

When I used to live nearby, I always wanted to check out MonGa Cafe. But it wasn't until finally moving elsewhere that I took the chance to try it! I met up with one of my Bellevue friends here to try out the food, and it's one those typical family-owned business that locals come to. They served Taiwanese/Chinese dishes here, and had a good sized menu to order from. We ordered the Lu Rou Fan, some popcorn chicken, and a few other small dishes. The food was comforting, but I wasn't impressed by the dishes. I've had Lu Rou Fan at quite a few restaurants, and while it is a simple dish, I just didn't like the way they made it. It wasn't bad by any means, but could've been a lot better. Popcorn chicken was decent though, very standard to other places that serve it. I'd like to come back at some point to try the other dishes, but for now the best I can describe this cafe as mediocre at best.

Parking for this area takes place around the same area as the Asian Family Supermarket and other nearby restaurants such as Nuodle and Spicy Popo, which is to say it gets unusually packed here despite a large parking lot. If you can make it, then this place is worth trying! My friend and I went here on a Friday weeknight and got seating pretty easily; the inside is very huge with plenty of tables and booths which can seat a lot of people. The menu consists of a large selection of foods, with one whole side of the menu nearly completely dedicated to milk teas and drinks, and the other side being the main entrees and dishes. From there, I got the MonGa combo, which comes with lu-rou fan (which s a Taiwanese pork rice bowl), pork meatball soup and two sides of my choosing, in which I chose a braised egg and pickled cucumbers. My friend got the same dish and a braised egg as one side but triangular tofu as the second side. Portions here aren't big, but everything tasted very homely, which was a relief given I had already eaten out quite a bunch! Pork meatball soup was just right in flavor, and the flavoring of the pork in the lu-rou fan wasn't too overwhelming either! The pickled cucumbers remind me of those made by Dough Zone in Chinatown, which is to say also very good! And braised egg was solid. There are similar restaurants like this around Bellevue (such as Looking for Chai) and it's easy to overlook this place given the presence of the other surrounding businesses where it is, but if you want something great and not too heavy, this is an ideal place to go to!

pork cutlet with lurou rice

Taiwanese cafe in Bellevue, in the same plaza as Asian Family Market, and in the same row as a bunch of mostly Asian restaurants. The place is actually larger than it looks from the outside as the space is pretty deep. Casual cafe atmosphere. Decent number of customers for a Saturday night. Snagged a small table without having to wait. Menu is printed on one sheet of paper. Has a list of sweet teas, and Taiwanese favorites like the fried chicken pieces, chicken and pork cutlets. Also has some some noodle bowls. No personal hotpot/soups on the menu though. I got one of the teas and it was a nice refreshing drink for the sumer. $7. For food, I got the fried pork cutlet for like $16 and paid $2 extra to upgrade the rice to the lurou (marinated pork) rice. The pork cutlet is pretty big and comes with some veggies and half a marinated egg. Comes with a slight tart and sweet dipping sauce. Pork cutlet not the crispiest, but flavor was decent. The lurou rice has a richer flavor thanks to the pork sauce bits and sauce covering the rice. Overall, food was decent and portions are good for the price.

B3. Beef Shank and Tendon Noodle Soup. S7. Ten Wonton in Spicy Oil. Sauteed Mustard Greens.
Jordan L.

I don't know many Taiwanese restaurants in the area nor do I have a lot of experience eating a variety so I can't speak on how well their food stacks against other Taiwanese restaurants but I can say I really did the like dish I got, which if I recall correctly was their B3 Beef Shank Noodle Soup spicy: 3/5, sautéed fresh mustard greens, wontons in spicy oil, and peach black oolong milk tea. Their mustard greens tasted as expected from any Asian restaurant that does them, but their wontons in spicy oil was definitely one of my favorites compared to other places like Din Tai Fung. The peach black oolong milk tea was pretty good. Not too strong on the peach, not too sweet, and you get the dryness of the black oolong tea. If you want something really fruity, I wouldn't go for this, but the sweetness level was just what I wanted. The service was also great. Friendly and attentive staff. And probably the best part is walking into the restaurant and seeing the ethnicities people are actually working there along with the people eating were Asian. Not one none Asian was there at the time we went in and I knew it was going to be a good place. If you walk into a restaurant and don't see one person of that restaurants homeland working or eating there then don't expect much...

Came back after a short hiatus and it feels like they've amped up their food. I especially like how you can combo up some of their dishes and we had the beef noddle soup combined with pigs ears and crunchy pickled cucumber side dishes. The beef was very tender and the bowl of soup came out piping hot. We've had many of their other dishes over the course of numerous visits and you can't go wrong! The service is good and the interior is nice and clean with pictures of Taiwan adorning the walls.

I made a reservation ahead of time, but when we got there around 8 pm we realized we probably didn't need one because it was seat yourself and still pretty open. No complaints though, it made it easy to grab a table and settle in. The vibe was cool. Definitely a sports bar feel with TVs around, and as the night went on the DJ started getting set up which I can imagine makes it a fun spot on a Friday night for people meeting up after work or hanging out with friends. We decided to share a few things so we could try a little bit of everything. We ordered the catfish bites, lemon pepper wings, garlic parmesan wings, and macaroni and cheese. I'll start with the positives because the service was great. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful, which always makes a difference. Food-wise, it just didn't totally hit for me. The catfish bites had a really tasty batter, but the texture threw me off a little. I personally like my catfish cooked a little harder, and these were a bit soft for my liking. The lemon pepper wings were a little too salty for me, and the wings themselves weren't cooked quite the way I like them. I tend to like my wings cooked a little harder, so these felt a bit soft and bulky to me (if that makes sense). The garlic parmesan wings were okay flavor-wise, but still similar in texture. The macaroni and cheese was okay. Nothing bad, just pretty standard. The menu itself has a good mix of comfort food and bar favorites like chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, burger & fries....so there are definitely options to try. Overall, the service were great, the vibe was cool and I can definitely see this being a fun spot once the DJ gets going and the place fills up. The food just didn't quite land for me personally this time. I gave it 3 stars, but if Yelp allowed half stars it would probably be closer to a 3.5 for me. I'd still be open to coming back and trying a few other things on the menu.

I mean, seriously? Why should I have to keep calling just to give feedback about poor food quality?A manager should have taken my number, followed up, and actually cared about customer experience. But no one ever called back. It feels like they don't value their customers at all. The food quality has completely changed, and the way they respond to feedback is even worse. Saying a casual "okay" without taking any action is not acceptable. Honestly, service-wise,food wise it's a complete zero now. Very disappointing.

The price was as expected for Seattle/Bellevue so not shocking. The meal and location was WORTH the $200 (with a GENEROUS tip and an alcoholic drink). This was while the place was practically empty, so I'm not sure what else could have been occupying their time. Second, I ordered the pork shoulder stir fry which wasn't bad but had several large pieces of pure fat & gristle in it that I felt a high quality restaurant would have taken out of the dish. It's indicative of lazy & careless food preparation skills. Also, the basmati rice was very under-cooked...some pieces were even crunchy. Lastly, after leaving the place, I realized that I accidentally left my sunglasses there. So I called later that evening to inquire if they had found them. I discovered they route all incoming calls to a bot that instantly made me feel unimportant and unappreciated. What's worse is it tried to connect me with someone in the restaurant, but kept looping back into its own messaging narrative. What an absolute PITA. This enables me to make a broader point: Restaurants have to get it through their heads that cutting costs has negative impact on customer experience, putting the lifeblood of their business into jeopardy. Take the widespread adoption of QR code-based menus during COVID...how many restaurants do you know actually switched back to real menus after COVID passed? The answer is very few. The reason why? They are too stingy to pony up the dough and ignore the benefit to the customer experience. They figure, 'people already know how to do that so why spend the money on printing up menus anymore?". They couldn't care less about what customers might actually enjoy more, and that's the real travesty. If restaurants are going to force their customers into a self-serve model (as so many have nowadays), then why bother tipping anyone? I am so fed up of a world where the idolatry of wealth has surpassed the appreciation and value of real, engaging human experiences. The Central Bar + Restaurant could help reverse this course if they ever decide to they put customer experience first instead of their own profits. UPDATE: Added one star because they actually had my shades...went ot go pick them up today.

It turns out that it's their new brunch special, so if you accept the mimosa on the way in, it's $4, where the regular price is $10 -- definitely good to keep in mind if you're visiting during weekend brunch! When it came down to the food, I ordered the fried bologna sandwich while my husband had the tom tom benedict (green and red tomatoes). The signage is hidden, but you'll spot it if you walk around 106th Street, like I did, to see the lunch menu. I visited Superkim Crab House on a Sunday afternoon earlier this month. Upon walking in, there weren't a lot of diners, but at most, two tables total about 12 people within the two tables. We were greeted by Zack, who allowed us to pick where to sit. He was a very welcoming and kind server. Zack allowed us to look at the menu but provided us with some of his favorite dishes to help us narrow down what we wanted to dine on. He mentioned the clam chowder and crab croquettes as being a few of his favorite dishes, and we were very intrigued by them, so we ordered them to start with. We were not disappointed with either of the items! The crab croquette and clam chowder were so flavorful, and the crab croquette was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. For drinks, we decided to order from the mocktails menu: Lychee Lemonade, which had a strong taste of the cucumber, was an okay drink, but if you love cucumbers, you'll like it; Prickly Mint, was more my liking, as it had more of the fruity cranberry taste; and then the Mango Spritz, which my friend wasn't a big fan of the taste. In terms of food, we were thinking about the boil, but in the end, we decided on two entree dishes: The Holy Crab and the Dungeness Crab Fried Rice. The menu clearly shows three pepper icons next to The Holy Crab, and they were not kidding about the spice! It was spicy! The spiciness gradually kicked in after consuming it, but don't get me wrong, it was still a delicious dish! The Crab Fried Rice was also very flavorful, and we used that to cool down our palettes after a spoonful of The Holy Crab. The restaurant's atmosphere was pleasant. It wasn't too loud or quiet, and ample space between the tables. The bathrooms were interesting. I believe they kept the Lot No.3 bathroom layout with the industrial look, and there were gender-neutral individual bathroom stalls. There are two levels for seating, so if you choose to, you can also sit upstairs for a more private dining experience. Within about 10 minutes of us being seated at our table, Mr. Kim, the head chef, came to visit and chatted with us for a bit. He was very kind and welcoming, ensuring we enjoyed our time at his restaurant. Overall, our experience dining at Superkim Crab House was superb! Everything was terrific in terms of service and hospitality. We interacted with the great waitstaff, including Zach and Trish, who made us feel like we were chatting with friends. The food was delicious, but the price was somewhat on the high side for the portion size. However, the quality of the food was worth it. We heard that their Happy Hour menu is a good value, so I will try it out when it is available, M - F, 3PM - 6PM. TL:DR Get the crab croquette and clam chowder for sure! The Holy Crab is a very spicy dish, so get it if you like a lot of spice! The staff is friendly and helpful! Happy Hour is M - F, 3PM - 6PM. Parking in the parking garage is free for now, while construction is being done in the area.
