    111. Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Saucebroccoli

ROYAL KITCHEN @ BELLEVUE (crossroads) Parking is pretty tight here, especially on the weekends when it gets super busy. Luckily, we were able to find a spot right out front, so I'd recommend slowly circling around and keeping an eye out for people leaving. I found this spot through Yelp and had been really craving good Chinese food, so I was super excited to finally try it. My family and I came without a reservation and were seated immediately, even though the restaurant was very busy. This place is definitely known for larger parties, there were lots of families and extended families dining together, which really gave it a classic family-style vibe. You order a bunch of dishes and share a little bit of everything, which I love. The staff were really friendly and greeted us right away with complimentary tea. Fun fact: in the mornings, tea is sometimes an extra charge, but in the evening it's free. We ordered a few dishes, including the honey walnut shrimp (which is my go-to order at any Asian restaurant), salt and pepper squid, house special vermicelli noodles, and Chinese broccoli. The vermicelli was a clear noodle dish loaded with different proteins like BBQ pork, squid, and shrimp. Everything had great flavor, but my absolute favorite was definitely the honey walnut shrimp. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. My only complaint is the portion size for the price, it was about $21 for roughly 10 pieces of shrimp, which felt pretty expensive. Overall, the portions were on the smaller side for what you're paying. Toward the end of the meal, they treated us to a complimentary papaya soup, which was a light, fruit-based dessert soup and a really nice way to finish. Our total came out to about $80, so it's definitely on the pricier side for Chinese food. That said, the food was delicious, the service was great, and if you're in the Bellevue area, I'd still recommend stopping by.

CHECK your bill here!!!!!!!! We took our daughters from out of town for Sunday dim sum. Longtime family tradition!! And while we have often gone to the CID In Seattle, for many years and almost exclusively in recent years we have gone here and the previous business at the same location. I highly recommend this place and in my opinion the staff is usually always fantastic and they bring the food fast!! Today the service and food was fantastic and ordered so much it almost didn't fit on a 4 top table. We love leftover dim sum! But at the end of the meal they brought me the completed card with a total at the bottom. Didn't look beyond the total before tip and just gave the nice (very young) hostess my card. A server brought back just the two credit card slips and the price was seemingly $20 more than what was presented to me on the service card!?? I politely asked to see the bill again and then a longhgggh wait...... Then a heavily altered card was brought back showing the new total. I was not happy suddenly and asked why it was altered from the first one etc and a big argument from the server began that I didn't proliferate but she kept on and on and could not explain why all the changes by pen and saying that she was honest etc. insisting we "do the math" over and over Now we may have ordered that much food, but I know for a fact that the bill was clean written without alterations and $20 less than the corrected one. But still she couldn't give me a valid explanation for the changes and new total. In my opinion the high school age hostess made a mistake adding up before presenting the total to me and someone else edited it before running my card. If they had just admitted that I would not have been so disappointed. I don't believe that the staff here are dishonest and understand about mistakes but they did not handle it very diplomatically and it was a scene I didn't want to make. But I know that this was not the total presented to me for payment! Take a pic of your service card before sending the credit card to be run!!! It absolutely ruined our family outing and everyone was quiet in the car ride home. Not cool!!

Food here still hits! I went here with family the day before Christmas Eve in a group of 5 and got seated after a couple of minutes since all the larger-party tables were taken or being bussed at the time. Got the usual shrimp dumplings, siu mai, chicken feet, radish cakes, beef tripe, pork stomach, Chinese donut rice roll... pretty much the same things I got from a previous visit here. Only difference was the addition of fried calamari, which was tender, soft and piping hot when it came out. Service is still fast just as before despite the sheer number of people taking their PTO and coming here to eat. This place shares parking with Kin Dee, Cathay Bank and other businesses, and is not too far from Ramen Nori and Dan Gui. This is not my first visit here... it might even be my nth or so visit here (where n is larger than 10 since 2017) because of the number of times I've been in the Bellevue area with family. Better than Sun Sui Wah in terms of both prices and quality.

Definitely a solid three stars. I think the thing that gets me is that restaurants like this one almost requires you to speak cantonese or you get a totally different experience. For example, there is definitely a dish here that's not in the menu but something if you have a good conversation you can get. Service is ok? Understaffed as usual and just lots of tables so when you go when it's busy expect service to be delayed. The food I think is decent. Probably a four stars on food but with everything else balances out at around 3 stars. The ambiance, well I think my watch triggered a noise warning so it's definitely not someplace that is quiet. Be prepared on a busy day to deal with a lot of different conversations and food coming in all different orders. I think we had food come in massive batches.

salt and black pepper calamari - barely had seasoning. flavorless.

The service here was extremely disappointing. The servers were rude and unprofessional from the start, no greeting, just handed us a paper to mark down our order. And I specifically asked for no pork, yet the shrimp rolls still had bits of pork in them, which was very frustrating and felt careless. The food itself was just okay and the atmosphere didn't feel very clean and overall everything was below average. To make things worse, it took about 10 minutes before anyone came over when we were ready to check out, only to find out we had to pay at the front (something no one mentioned). Definitely not a place I'd return to.

Really yummy dim sum!! We came at a busy time but were able to get seated promptly and got our food quickly once ordered. Every dim sum dish was pretty good and it was nice and hot. I would recommend if you're looking to try dim sum.

Seriously, I don't know what is up with the reviews on Yelp and Google for this restaurant. The food quality is great. We come here after Thanksgiving for a dim sum breakfast. Have never been disappointed in the service, food quality, or the menu selections.

steamed whole black sea bass. LOVED IT!

Excellent Cantonese dinner here in the 'Irvine of Seattle'. Bok Choy with oyster mushroom was lightly seasoned and sautéed, very delicious. Seafood tofu clay pot was also a winner, with higher seafood-to-tofu ratio than other restaurants. The steamed whole fish (black sea bass), lightly sauced and perfectly flakey, was our favorite. Can't speak for other low ratings, you just need to know what to order. Our dishes were light in sauce but BIG in flavors.

Yummy Cantonese food at a great price. Flavors were a little salty but good. Had some dim sum too and that was good. The service was really friendly, especially for Chinese restaurant, the server was so friendly to our kids and reminded us they had free green bean dessert. The atmosphere is basic but nice for Chinese spot. Restaurant is a chain from Vancouver so has good reputation.

Delicious! Order on Christmas the sweet & sour spare ribs, pork & shrimp fried rice, and spring rolls. Food was ready in about 15 minutes for pickup. When I arrived, the place was very busy but I was greeted with a warm welcome and my order was ready.

When you can speak the language, you're treated like royalty. But be patient if English is your preferred language - the staff tries hard to answer your questions. The food is awesome though

Really fast service, 15-20 min for our 5 takeout dishes. Nice lady at the front. A little skimpy on the protein on some of the dishes, but also big portions and cheaper than some other places. Flavors on point, although could be a touch more flavorful for some dishes.

When is dim sum available? Weekends only? All week?

I know it's been a couple years since this question was posted, but they have a limited dimsum menu in the after hours. Mainly steamable items like shumai, chicken feet, lobak goh. Other than that, they have dimsum available every day.

My mom and I went in right at opening time in a weekday and were both pleasant surprised by the quality of the dishes. My favorite dish (chewing fun/shrimp rice noodle roll) was very fresh. I also loved the duck and the baked goods including pineapple bun (I usually don't like the custard once but this one was not as gooey as it usually is) and bbq bun - the bread was sooooooo soft. The fact it was already so busy at opening time on a weekday really says a lot! I'm sure it's pretty crazy during the weekends... My small nitpick would be the service and ordering. You order through your phone using a QR code but the reception was really bad for me and they don't have WiFi for guests. We were able to put in an order with a waiter but that took a while. The food is worth it tho!

My first time ordering from here, we got the Chinese sausage and bacon stone pot rice, stir fried rice noodles with XO sauce, and braised pork feet rice rolls. All were delicious but my favorite was the stone pot rice. Second time I ordered here, I got garlic chicken wings and fries. Loved it! The wings and fries tasted so fresh. Super crispy and juicy, flavorful. And they were super generous with the fries. There were tons and so yummy - crispy on the outside and soft and hot on the inside. Service is good too. First time, they didn't secure the lid to the bowl of congee and it arrived all over the poor uber driver's car and in the delivery bag. Second time, they served us burnt congee that reeked of chemicals and had little burnt bits in it. Then this time, the congee is absolutely tasteless and they gave us the wrong soy sauce for the shrimp rice rolls. Shrimp rice rolls usually come with a sweet soy sauce, but they always pack you a whole sauce container of regular soy sauce that you won't realize until you pour it over the rice rolls. Sure they might be more reliable if you're dining there; but please don't even bother ordering take out or delivery. It's funny because every time i order congee, it's because I'm so severely hungover and sick and am so desperate for some comfort food. You can tell there's real attention to detail, from the way the dumplings are folded to the balance of flavors in every bite. The soup dumplings were the highlight of the meal. It's one of those dishes where you instinctively slow down because you don't want to waste a single bite. We also tried a few other dishes to share, and everything was just as impressive. The noodles had the perfect texture, the fried items stayed crispy without feeling greasy, and every plate came out hot and beautifully prepared. Nothing felt rushed or mass-produced, which made the meal feel even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself had a clean, welcoming atmosphere with an open kitchen that let you watch the dumplings being made by hand.
