Chicken and Chicken Katsu Combination Paid extra for the garlic sauce ($1) & sriracha ($0.50/ea).
Abby Y.

I Love Teriyaki is located in a little plaza with plenty of parking. It's got a cozy, hole-in-the-wall ambience, it was clean, and not too noisy neither. Looked like they had a few regulars coming in and out while I was dining in which was nice to see. Mrs. Lee is very sweet and has such a cheerful demeanor. Service was 10/10 and brought a smile to my face! :) They offer free water, hot tea, and egg drop soup with your order which was nice! You do have to pay for extra sauces but I thought the portion you got was generous unless you like to drown your food in sauce. I ordered a Chicken and Chicken Katsu Combination plate which was great! The size and portions of the proteins are a little smaller than other teriyaki places but they tasted fresh and made to order. Katsu was crispy and thin (how I like it) and teriyaki chicken was soft and juicy. I really like that the plates come with a side salad, which was fresh, because it helps lighten an otherwise heavy meal. Overall I had a great meal during my visit and I would come back again!

I work in the area and this is a weekly visit for me for lunch. Used to be a time, many years ago, where Seattle had an amazing Teriyaki scene with Nasai and Toshis. For $6 you could get a full meal in the U-District. Obviously those days are gone and I'm now an Eastsider - mostly because I like parking and getting to where I'm driving. For those craving consistently solid Teriyaki Kumae and her husband run this place and do it right. I personally don't see an issue with two portions of chicken and a bed of rice with salad and it's quick, convenient, and tasty. If you're looking for ambience and table service, go elsewhere. The best part of this is the Hole-in-the-wall, GreasySpoon vibe.

This isn't $30 fried rice ... and they charge for any sauce even hot sauce don't go here

I got charged $30 for fried rice and a soda. Hot sauce isn't free like any other restaurant. Don't go here they play with the price and stereotype

Just a good old freshly made salad with some very very tasty homemade dressing

This is the best Teriyaki around the area and rest assured you will consistently get nothing less than the bestest fresh ingredients and that includes their absolutely beautifully made salads! I've been in the food business for over 35 years and I have never ever had such delicious freshly made salad! I mean a salad.....right ?! Something so small and seamingly so simple is consistently made fresh for EVERY ORDER. Mrs. Lee and her husband really know what they are doing and In my opinion that is why they remain a success. *** Give them a break in the hot summer months as that kitchen is very small and it gets extremely hot back there-take it from someone who knows there way around a kitchen.

Naveed S.

They charged me full price but said they couldn't provide the salad cuz they ran out for several days now. I asked why are you charging full price, atleast offer a drink as a replacement and they said no. So I had already paid full price for 2/3rd of a meal. Good food. Super Stingy service. And they charge 50 cents extra for literally like a tinnnny cup of sauce.

Spicy Chicken with egg rolls

This was a restaurant that I used to come a lot when I was a kid. My friends and I usually would bicker about where to go, but when someone mentions this place, we usually end up going here. The portion size was generous, the cost was reasonable, and most importantly the food was delicious. Jump to now and I believe the owners have changed since, but the atmosphere of the place hasn't and I'm glad to say that the quality of the food has not changed. Usually when I order spicy chicken from other places, sometimes the chicken gets really burnt or there's a harsh bitter after taste with the spiciness. Fortunately, I got that spiciness that I like, but the tanginess from the sauce and the chicken wasn't burnt which made a combination of a nice flavour combo in my mouth. As a change of pace I got the egg rolls in comparison to the gyoza that I usually order and it has a nice crunch on the exterior and is dense with lots of veggies inside. I'm more of a fan favorite of the gyoza, but it could be that I'm just not used to the egg rolls here. If you haven't tried this place, I would definitely recommend trying it out. I'm happy to say it was my go to and will still continue to be my go to.

Teriyaki Shrimp

There are countless teriyaki restaurants in the Seattle area, so I decided to try one. This restaurant is a local restaurant with good food and service. I ordered the teriyaki shrimp and pork yakisoba, both entrees tasted very good. The shrimp were slightly overcooked but the flavor was good, the yakisoba was delicious and came with a lot of meat and vegetables. Overall, this was a good dinning experience.

This small business is located in an almost ghost town area of Redmond, yet it is still open, providing food like Normal :) We came in to order take out and got the spicy garlic chicken teriyaki and the broccoli tofu dish. The flavors was pretty unique as it's not the same as other teriyaki joint. The chicken definitely had both spicy and garlicy taste and it was balanced. The chicken was pretty tender as well. The sauce in the broccoli tofu dish was awesome, it was flavorful and went well with everything. Price and portion was good. I asked for mine to have no rice, they basically gave me a whole container of meat in it. The main focus here though is the service. The lady made a barrier between us and her to ensure we were at least 6ft away. Any payment was made by a box. And we were provided with gloves to sign the receipt. I never seen a restaurant took so much effort in making sure it was a clean and safe environment. Kudos to them!!!!

They only served food in plastic containers instead of how they are supposed to serve it in a plate to customers. The environment looks kinda run down, the portion is a bit low, bigger portion would of been nice

This place slaps. It's OG in feel and the food is mint. I love the steak and egg roll side. The service is very good. Front desk is polite and full of charm.

Jumbo Chicken Teriyaki

Teriyaki binge month! I had a teriyaki craving this month and sent me all over town looking for a new favorite. My old favorite place went out of business, victim of coivd. Sad! This place came highly recommended from yelp with all the reviews. 5 stars and 4 stars rave/ recent reviews. So I came! I got their jumbo chicken teriyaki. Came with salad. Standard. The chicken wasn't bad but it was covered in so much sauce. Sweet sauce. Way too much sauce for me. Also had peanuty taste. Not sure if they use peanut oil. Its just very peanuty. I didn't have peanut allergy so it was fine. Chicken itself was also a ok. A little dry. Wasnt crazy about the meat either. verall, it was underwhelming. Maybe I came at an off time. It was in between meal time.

Teriyaki Salmon Teriyaki

Quite happy with our lunchtime teriyaki today. We ordered over the phone just after opening at 10:30. Our food was ready in 15 which is great. Hubby got jumbo chicken teriyaki and I got teriyaki salmon. He really enjoyed his and I enjoyed mine. The salmon looked different than any I've ever had, but thankfully that didn't change the taste for me. I do wish they gave more teriyaki sauce on the side, but most places don't. I also got a side of miso which I liked, but wish it was a bit stronger. Finally, the salad dressing was very interesting. Very thick and sweeter than I am used to. I enjoyed it though. This is so close to home and I'm willing to pay the higher prices to know I am getting something good.

Itadaki - Uni toast - must try

WOW! Not often do I get blown away by a restaurant and immediately text friends and family about…read moreit, but Itadaki IS that place. From the moment I stepped inside to the decor and service to the taste and quality of food, I was impressed the entire night. Most bbq places are laid back and loud, but this place is refined, sophisticated, and everything you'd want for a date night or celebration. Starting off with service, everyone we spoke with was lovely and inviting. We felt welcomed and our server kept checking on us, but wasn't too invasive, so we were able to catch up. We were greeted with hand towels and 3 options for water. Cutlery and tableware were nicely set up and I'm obsessed with their plates! I was blown away by all of the dishes we ordered but my favorites were definitely the Uni Toast, Wagyu Volcano, and honestly all the meats we ordered to grill. They grill your meats for you, so it is a bit awkward because the person stands there until everything is done, but it's cooked to perfection! Highly recommend for a nice date night or celebration dinner.

We started with a wagyu toast and the meat just melted in your mouth. We also had alaska king crab with A5. Kind of a surf and turf nigiri. The uni toast was a little too much toast but it was a generous amount of uni. The Rubik's cube was a literal cube of meat. They cook it to perfection in front of you. Lots of sauces and sides to try. Everything was very good. It's amazing how different each cut of meat tastes. I loved the silky egg yolk in the volcano. They offer bottle service as well as drinks and their drinks were excellent. Would definitely go back!

Super fairly priced at around $19 for the chirashi and $16.50 for the aburi sake don aka seared salmon. We found a seat and they brought the food out to us in under 10 minutes. By this point, the restaurant is filling up with customers so they get quite busy! It's a small space so I imagine they get a lot of take out orders as well. Food was delirious, my seared salmon was super fresh, I'd not a little on the thin side. It paired well with the fresh wasabi. My friend said her chirashi bowl was delicious as well, though the tuna was lean and she preferred the fatty tuna. When you finish your meal, just bus your own tray and you're good to go. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area!

Although it was pretty busy inside, we were able to be seated in about 10 minutes, which was great for a last minute decision for Shabu Shabu. I haven't done many Shabu Shabu places, but this one is a bit different since you get a set of vegetables and meat rather than ordering multiple rounds. The quality of the meat and vegetables, in my opinion, was much higher compared to those places where you're able to get multiple rounds of meat or select your own vegetables/sides. The broth (I had kombu) was pretty light, so it wasn't the best. The service was pretty friendly and the only fault to them was they didn't come around to refill our pots with hot water. I enjoyed dinner here and would definitely come back again. The quality of the food, the calm restaurant atmosphere, and the polite staff made it an enjoyable experience.

It's a very cute Japanese restaurant, with very patient staff who answered all our questions. (Thank you for doing that). Tha takoyaki was pretty good but if it memory serves I believe it was over $10. It wasn't too mushy and it was well-flavored. The salad was worth its price. It was very small. The dressing was pretty good, not too overpowering of sesame. The crunchy tuna rice was really good (I really like crunchy rice) but it felt over priced. This could honestly be made at home. The shabu shabu was very impressive. I got the sukiyaki shabu shabu, which I think had the most flavor out of the ones my family got (spicy miso and original). The ponzu and nut sauce that comes with the dish is delicious as always, and the meat was really fun to cook. If you don't know, it is called "Shabu shabu" because you swipe the meat back and forth and by the time u finish talking it's cooked! We got the Americans wagyu, beef, park belly, and pork. Everything was well made, fresh, and beautifully presented (the pork belly had a rose made out of meat!) Overall it was good. It's a fun experience. And hot pot type meals are usually expensive, but nothing quite tops MalaTang.

I don't remember what I ate at the time but I do remember Kizuki having pretty salty ramen, and that still holds up today. I know there is an option to order low sodium and/or order a clear broth to dilute it, but I completely forgot. I got the garlic tonkotsu ramen and it was super good! I can see why it's super popular. I will say I wasn't a fan of the jasmine milk tea, it was way too sweet while simultaneously too milky- otherwise everything was fine. The waiters were polite and lenient with my preferences and gave excellent service, no complaints there. I came in on a Tuesday or Wednesday at 2:00 ish by myself, so it wasn't crowded. I can't say for weekends but judging by other reviews the waitlist can take a while (not sure if it's different if you come on a weekend but by yourself). There were some people there hanging out over ramen and some people working on their laptops, so it was the perfect environment to get work done (not sure if wifi is free though) and/or chat with friends without having to raise your voice.
