Teriyaki House is located in the strip mall in Lakemont, so there's plenty of parking available. No one was dining in when I stopped by, but there was plenty of seating inside. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and the chicken teriyaki and katsu combo to go, and both were fairly large portions (many teriyaki places put the meat on top of the rice so it looks like there's a lot of meat, but Teriyaki House stacks meat on top of more meat). The katsu was crispy and the meat was cooked well and not dried out. The teriyaki was grilled well with a nice char, and decent flavoring. My one complaint was the teriyaki sauce was a little salty and I prefer it more sweet, but that's totally personal preference. I'll definitely be coming back here when in the area! read more

First of all, I have been a resident of Lakemont for 15 years. I have come here multiple times a year to get one thing Shrimp Yakisoba with No Vegetables It is THE BEST YAKISOBA ever. The noodles are cooked EXTRA well and aren't super soft! The portion sizes are very good and I really enjoy this as a to go place. This place is pretty close to home and so I decided to check it out. It's located in the same complex as the town country market so there's ample parking. It's also right next to a park so you can enjoy food outside. 3 stars for food + 1 extra star for service. Food: I got the chicken teriyaki + katsu combo (large) with no rice and it was a lot of food. The meats were pretty good and cooked well. The salad was pretty fresh as well. I also got an order of gyoza which was standard. Everything was pretty good, the price is a little higher but reasonable. I like that they have an option of doing regular or large sizes. It's too bad there's not a lot of good Teriyaki places on the Eastside. Once every 3-4 months, I'll stop by Teriyaki House to grab. This place is a mom-and-pop restaurant which I love and the couple are always so nice when they take my order behind the counter. The portions are large here, so come hungry. There's nothing mesmerizing about the food, but it's near my house and I prefer getting Teriyaki here versus a franchise like Toshi's Teriyaki. When I'm here, I usually order the Chicken Teriyaki or one of the combo plates with Gyoza or the Beef and Chicken Combo. Pretty much staples at a teriyaki restaurant. As mentioned before, the portions are very big. So big, I'll usually split them into 2 meals. Each plate comes with 2 generous portions of white rice and you can upgrade to fried rice for $2 more. The fried rice has more of a sticky texture versus your traditional fried rice, but I like that once in a while. As for the chicken, it's just your regular run of the mill teriyaki chicken. They give you an extra serving of teriyaki sauce in your to-go box, but it's just overkill. There's already enough sauce on there as it is. Overall, I prefer coming here out of convenience. It's close by and the people are really nice and you never have to wait for seating. As for the price, it's a little on the expensive side. My large chicken teriyaki order came to a little over $14, which I guess is on par for Eastside pricing. I still think it's too much for teriyaki though. Gone are the days where I only had to pay $6 on the AVE in the U-District for a plate like this. Oh well! read more

This place FUCKING SUCKS. The lady who's job it is to serve customers is a total fucking Bi$&ch. I came in to place my order and waited for 8 minutes before the lady got up from eating to take my order. Once up, this lady acted like "why are you interrupting my lunch?" After all these heavy sighs like I'm putting her out to get my order right, I tell her, simply, you know, if I actually ordered Mongolian beef, that is NOT what's in the bag. More heavy sighs and crazy looks. "Well, you can't bring food back once we make it." Even if you screwed up my order beyond recognition? Oh OK. Then she says, "I will make ramen soup" with an attitude like it's my fault for not ordering correctly. Finally, after a heavy dose of her attitude and shit talking, I had reached my limit of frustration, and I said the following: "You know what? Don't even worry about it. Keep the money. I don't want your food, I don't want to talk you anymore and I absolutely want nothing else to do this place" and walked out. Very happy this place is just up the hill from me. I had been interested in trying this out for some time but oddly enough had only craved teriyaki the past few Sunday's and they are closed on Sunday's. Lots of indoor seating and parking outside as they are in the same lot as the marker up in Lakemont. While I agree with the other reviewers that It's a bit $$$ but considering the convenience (because there is nothing else to eat up in Lakemont!!), location being pricey, and the overall quantity and quality of the food it's honestly worth it. I also will say they added some bonus points in my book by having not only teriyaki sauce at the table BUT ALSO that amazing salad dressing that most teriyaki places have. I have lived so close to this place, even drive by a lot for the last few years and have never tried it until recently. I typically only order Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, which i gotten twice from here now. I really enjoy their sauce, it's different then others around this area and has a great taste and good amount of heat. You can tell it's a mom and pop shop, maybe friend and family as employees. Very friendly and very CLEAN! I have been very happy with the portions that they offer, ordering the large and eating it in for two meals. The only difference between the Teriyaki House and the gazillion other teriyaki restaurants in Seattle is that the Teriyaki House is situated near the top of gorgeous Cougar Mountain. Up here at this time of the year, wildflowers are busting out all over, including some incredible purple lupines. On any given day too, you may well see a deer or bear moseying to the side of Lakemont Blvd. Heck, I even remember one time when we were living up here I went out jogging one night and I heard a loud growl from behind a bush. I knew for sure it was not someone's housecat that had made that fearsome noise. Well, it is named Cougar Mountain after all. Anyways, I came to the Teriyaki House for lunch today, never having been here before. Besides me, there were three Washington State Patrol troopers chowing down and talking shop. Soft pop oldies were being played at a light volume on a boom box (or ghetto blaster, if you prefer) near the ceiling in one corner. The restaurant décor was rather spartan. At least half the tables had legs supported by wads of newspaper. Your usual food fare: teriyaki, yakisoba, katsu and bento boxes. I ordered the combination shrimp and chicken teriyaki, and a side of gyoza. Also, an iced tea. A warning on the iced tea - it come pre-sweetened. I know it's groaner, but forgive me for saying it: sweet tea is not my cup of tea. Sorry! I was surprised how quickly my teriyaki and gyoza came to the table (in well less than five minutes). That smacks of "pre-made." The shrimp (three on a stick) were quite good, but the chicken teriyaki was average. Though obviously frozen in a previous existence, the gyoza wasn't bad - it was seasoned nicely (light on the ginger) and came with a good dipping sauce. If you want quick, and are willing to settle for rather expensive and unremarkable teriyaki, this is your place. read more

First time here and I ordered the chicken and tofu stir fry..once I got home, my stir fry was soggy....no flavor not even a drop of salt and covered in wetness maybe a lot of oil. A tiny tiny container with teriyaki sauce I think was supposed to flavor this whole meal. I literally counted 5 pieces of chicken, and way more tofu. Not to mention very bland. My favorite thing I got was the miso soup....3$ 15$ for this stir fry and I'm really sad and disappointed how much I paid for this dish to get literally all vegetables and 5 pieces of rubber chicken in soggy veggies.
