My friend dragged me out for lunch, and it was my very first time here. First challenge: parking. I managed to snag a spot on the street nearby, but I can already tell that hunting for a space here on weekends would be an Olympic sport. We rolled in after 1 PM on a weekday. Even though it was past the prime lunch rush, there was a tiny wait--but we were seated quickly. The place is deceptively spacious and super comfortable. Our server was an absolute sweetheart. She did accidentally ghost our request for hot water, but honestly, with the deal we stumbled into, she's completely forgiven! Turns out, they're celebrating their 15th anniversary with a special menu: $15 bowls and $5 drinks! Talk about perfect timing. ​We ordered the Beef Pho and the Grilled Chicken Vermicelli from the anniversary menu. The pho broth had that deeply comforting, "hug-in-a-bowl" flavor, and the meat was incredibly tender. The wait was... odd. There was a long line of people waiting to be seated, and it seemed like they were running out of space the way they asked if people were willing to squeeze onto the patio... and then I found out when using the bathroom that a good half of the restaurant was empty (and they weren't asking about reservations, so that wasn't it). I can only guess they were understaffed when we went. The food here was great! I liked the papaya salad (lots of textures and flavor), the crab noodles (classic simple butter + crab, though admittedly not a TON of crab). The panini dip sandwich was...interesting, tasty, but not really what I was expecting in a Vietnamese restaurant. We tried to order a different chicken dish they were out of before settling for the roast chicken, but the roast chicken was excellent and I'd recommend it! :D Very tender and juicy. I don't think I liked this physical location as much as the other Ba Bars I've been to. We were seated quickly and our server was polite. It wasn't too busy on a Monday around 5/5:30, so it was easy to walk in and grab a seat. The space is big and comfortable, and I loved that they have a separate vegan menu with lots of options. I ordered the lemongrass tofu Singapore noodles, and it was really flavorful and well made. It was my first time seeing Just Eggs used in a non-breakfast dish, unique and interesting! I do wish they had scrambled it instead of serving cubes, but it was still a fun twist. The vegan options here are superb, and they can make any of the "grab and go" options for dine-in as well. I ordered some sweet potato laksa and some soup from ba bar green at 7 pm on a Friday. Ordering was simple enough using their online system, and a take out charge and bag fee is automatically added. Estimated pick up time was ~10-15 min post ordering, and I got there a little bit early and it was ready to go. I was efficiently handed my food at the pick up window adjacent to the Ba Bar entrance. Everything came well packed, with the liquids rubber banded closed, plenty of soup spoons, chopsticks and napkins. Nothing spilled as I made my way home! The food was incredibly flavorful! Tasted great. Only very very mild complaint was that a lot of the things were lukewarm, with the middles of the sweet potatoes and tofus being cold. I've been to the University Village and First Hill locations of Ba Bar many times, so I'd been meaning to try Ba Bar Green for a while. If you're craving Ba Bar's usual dishes, you can still get them from here. But I was here specifically to try their Green menu. I came here on a Friday during lunchtime, so you can imagine that the place was filled with mostly Amazonians. But it was pretty easy to find a seat - no wait at all. For lunch, I got their roasted beet salad and their sweet potato laksa. The beet salad was ok. I wish they made smaller versions of their main salads. I really liked the laksa though - generous portions of sweet potato, kale, and crispy tofu, yum. Packed with flavor! Would I come back? I'm not sure. Despite the lunch rush, the wait staff were smiling and kind. They quickly made my iced coffee to go, and I was in and out within five minutes. I've never had a vegan Vietnamese iced coffee before. The flavor is definitely different, as the condensed milk in regular Vietnamese iced coffee is very distinct. I was in Seattle for a couple of days and had been craving Ba Bar since (wait for it) before the covid pandemic! In fact, the last time I visited there was probably late 2019 or early 2020. I was more than relieved to see that this restaurant is still going strong in 2024. I arrived during the lunch rush, but since I was solo I was seated quickly at the bar/counter. I ordered a tasty Georgetown beer and perused the menu for a few minutes before deciding on a bowl of steamy hot pho. It was perfect for the brisk, blustery day outside, and arrived quickly with allll the usual toppings. Including house-made pickled vegetables which, if you haven't tried them, make an excellent topping for this spicy Vietnamese soup. The only snag in my visit was that it was almost impossible to get my check. I didn't seem to have a server assigned to me and, since they were busy, finally had to flag someone down to bring it. Not a big deal but definitely something to keep in mind if you're in a hurry. Someday, I'll go here again and order something else, but I can't seem to resist their pho. Ba Bar Green functions as a vegan take-out counter but you can order food and dine inside the full 'Ba Bar' with drinks and the works. My friend and I did that and enjoyed some really bomb Asian inspired vegan food. I ordered their Curry Laksa ($18) and it was my first time having laksa since going plant-based, and it did not disappoint. Thick rice noodles with a spicy, coconut curry with fried tofu, beansprouts, and other veggies - overall very aromatic and tasty. My friend ordered their Dan Dan Mien with Beyond Meat and it was delicious as well. We also cheers to two of their frosty drinks which was perfect for a nice summer Seattle evening. Definitely one of the best spots for a good vegan meal here in the city. Stopped by here after work and thought it was pretty decent. They had a promotion this week where you can BOGO banh mi so we opt for that. This place is a green counter outside of their main restaurant and focused solely on vegetarian food. The main restaurant have normal food. They had 3 types available, so we got the tofu and the plant based chorizo sandwich. Typically, each of the sandwich cost $9.75 but with the promo, it's 2 for 1 which is a really good deal. Both sandwich had some highs and lows. The high was that the bread was nicely toasted and stayed perfectly crunchy for a while. The veggies was very refreshing and fresh and nicely pickled and there was a lot :) for the me, the protein was a little of a miss. The tofu was big slabs and sturdy which is good, but lack in flavor. It was very light that you mostly get the flavor from the veggies. The chorizo on the other hand was very salty that you need the veggies to help balance it out. Overall, I wish there was a middle in terms of flavor. Otherwise, it was very tasty. Once again came back to ba bar green for takeout on a warm summer evening. Everything is 100% vegan / plant-based, and so incredibly flavorful and delicious. We always get the Dan Dan noodles because my partner says they're the best outside of what he had in China (vegan or not), and this time I tried the papaya salad for the first time. Papaya salad was so flavorful and refreshing, perfect for summer. It came topped with tofu, fried tofu, fried taro strips, tomatoes, mint, onions, and dressing on the side. Be aware that papaya salad is really just a base of grated papaya, there's no lettuces or grain or anything, so you might want to add on something else for a full meal. If your looking for asian cuisine vegan food this is the place to try. It's a walk up window at the Babar SLU serving all vegan friendly versions of sort of an pan-asian menu. Dan dan noodles: uses Beyond meat as the protein. Not my favorite faux meat but covered up with all the sesame and tahini and it tastes pretty good Lao crispy rice and quinoa salad: one of my favorite laotian dishes now using beyond meat sausage substituting for the lao sausage which is a tough ingredient to replace. Crispy rice adds nice texture. Lemongrass tofu Singapore noodles: probably my favorite of the stuff tried today. Lots of different textures between noodles, mushroom and fried shallots. I would get this again for sure. Side of kimchi is a must for any meal and their vegan version still hit all the funky fermented notes. Parking in SLU was once a headache but since the pandemic has significantly depleted SLU of Amazon employees parking is much easier to find. Was able to angle park right outside! read more

They do vegan right! Even meat lovers will love this restaurant. Very rarely do vegetarian/vegan restaurants get it all right and Ba Bar does. Everything we had was delicious. Special shout out to the Chorizo Bahn Mi and the Dan Dan Noodles. We didn't get to try the boozy slushies but many tables had them and we'll try them next time. I stopped in for a late lunch and got their sweet potato laksa ($18.95 plus tax). It's not common to be able to get vegan laksa, so I was excited to try it. Coming from Vancouver, we have a fair bit of vegan laksa options, so I guess my standard is a bit unrealistically high. The soup came out in about 10 minutes, with all sorts of different tofu, Asian greens, bean sprouts, and round noodles that aren't exactly my favourite. The broth was rich and fairly authentic, with tons of depth -- not exactly what I'd expect from a Malaysian joint but very impressive. Good food, horrendously overpriced, friendly, astute service. Really beautiful and trendy place around SLU with healthy, vegetarian (vegan?) food. I was a huge fan of the refreshing crunchy rice salad and the generous use of mint. Ooh this place was super yummy. I came here for an event and ordered at the outside window. I asked the person working there what they recommended and they said the Dan Dan noodles. It was ready in about five minutes and I took it to-go. The different components of this dish worked so well and I dumped in all the peanut and chili sauce in. The numbing peppercorn in their chili sauce gives it a wonderful kick and the peanut sauce is well balanced with all the pickled veggies, basil, cilantro and more. I was impressed with how complex the flavors in this dish was. I'm not usually a cold noodle person, but this really hit the spot. I'm also not vegan but loved whatever meat substitute they used . Misleading when it advertises on yelp as a "plant based" business. They have a "plant based" window next to the very large doors... which is the entrance to their carnivorous establishment. Rather than just being transparent that they are a regular restaurant with vegan options, they try and lure the hard core vegans but labeling themselves as such. I rode a scooter 3 miles down treacherous Seattle hills after radiation treatment, thinking I was support a pure vegan establishment. They will hand you a purely vegan, cheap paper menu (all the same items on their fancy regular menus) and then you sit and are served next to others eating flesh. I found this highly manipulative .. shady. Positives: place was very clean and decor nice. read more

While I'm a regular meat-eater, I always love trying vegetarian spots because I find, with their generally more limited menus, they usually do everything a little better. Ba Bar Green was next on this list and a great lunch stop in SLU. Around the façade there are a number of signs telling you what to expect here: plant-based street food. I usually associate "street food" with relatively quick turnarounds from ordering to serving but that wasn't the case here. Unfortunately, while I was told I would be served around 10 minutes after ordering at the outdoor window, it ended up being 20 which isn't ideal if you're taking a short lunch break. I think it's possible my order was misplaced since a number of folks who ordered well after I did were served before I was, so this may not be a typical wait time for my lunchtime choice: the Kabocha & Sweet Potato Laksa. When I did finally get my food (and an appreciated apology for the wait time) at the takeout window, I elected to eat at the outdoor dining area. This area isn't particularly special in any way but has ample covered seating. The curry was *fantastic* as was the dish overall. It was well-seasoned, well-portioned, and everything worked well together. The only downside might have been that, while the curry was fresh and hot, the squash and sweet potato were quite cool which made for an odd pairing of temperatures while eating it. We have ordered take out from Ba Bar Green about 3 times now and it is fantastic. I have to say, even though I'm not vegan, I prefer the vegan menu to the regular Ba Bar menu at the other locations. I love Ba Bar on 12th, so i was surprised how much I liked the vegan menu. The tamarind soup is SO delicious and comforting on a cold day. It sour, and salty and unique. We also love the tofu banh mi. The French bread they use is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's just perfect. Everything we have ordered has been great, filling, and really healthy. I can't speak to the service or the restaurant because we have only done take out, but I can say that the food travels well, is prepared quickly, carefully packaged and tastes very fresh. read more

Hello, you can stop looking for a place to eat now because this place is a GEM. Fully vegan, but doesn't taste like it. They've got all the flavors going on without the plastic-like textures you sometimes get at vegan restaurants. This place is all fresh, and all delicious. They have a takeout window, so you don't even have to enter the restaurant. Very Covid-friendly. Staff is kind and quick in my 3 experiences. They have a small menu that they do really well. My personal favorites include the Lao Crispy Rice & Quinoa salad (surprisingly filling!), the Lemongrass Tofu Singapore Noodle, and the Kabocha & Sweet Potato Laksa. The menu has such a great selection! I got the laksa, kimchi fried rice, and miso eggplant. The miso eggplant was so tender and savory. The laksa was rich and creamy with chunks of sweet potato and kabocha squash. So many flavors and textures! The kimchi fried rice was delicious but wasn't as flavorful as the other two.
