After our morning coffee stop, we headed straight to Saigon Drip Cafe for a quick lunch. The cafe is very casual -- we placed our orders at a kiosk and waited for our names to be called before picking up our food. The space is pretty large, with plenty of tables and high-tops for dining in. BANH MI DRIP - 17 Prepare your stomachs in advance because this sandwich is dense. After our run, I thought I'd be ravenous, but I still only made it through about 75%. The banh mi was stuffed with incredibly tender beef brisket, pork pate, and grilled onions, creating an intensely savory, rich, and umami-filled bite. It's definitely a messy meal, so I didn't dip it in the accompanying beef bone marrow broth as often as I wanted to. The broth itself was outstanding -- deep, rich, and packed with beef flavor. What an incredible meal. I probably would've finished it if we didn't already have early dinner plans that day. This has easily been one of my favorite meals in Seattle so far. It's hard enough to find a good banh mi, let alone one paired with a good pho broth. Based on how good the dipping broth was, I'd love to come back and try their pho next time. The tofu banh mi (vegan vortex) was pretty good. The baguette was super soft and dense. I do appreciate that they were generous with the fillings but it was honestly a bit much. It was kind of hard to eat the sandwich because of how thick it was. The pickled daikon and carrots were cut into thick pieces as well. There were 2 slices of jalapeno for the entire sandwich, so if you like your spice make sure to ask for extra. I LOVED the vegan broth so much. It tasted almost like chicken broth!!! They do have a "banh mi drip" combo, but you can't pick which banh mi or broth as it's preset. I would love to see that option get added to the menu, since that's basically what I ordered for a higher price. Or even if they had a "vegan banh mi drip" option. It seemed like more of a fast casual restaurant. They do serve and bus your table for you. You self order on a kiosk and they allow options for modifications. I will say I asked for no mayo, but unfortunately there was mayo in my banh mi. There is a bathroom that requires a code. They give tap water when asked. Oh Saigon Drip, you never seize to amaze me. I came here today because I need some of the strong coffee that you have, because none of the neighboring coffee shop compares to you. Vietnamese coffee hits differently, you know. I patiently waited for you to open, even though I was yawning so much in the office. 9am couldn't come any sooner. I ordered on the kiosk for a foam cafe sua da. It wasn't even afterward that your employee inform me that there's no salted foam available. It's okay, regular is fine with me, I didn't think much of it. What blew my expectations is that I was gifted a card for a "drinks on us" for the short-coming which I wasn't expecting and definitely exceed great customer service. Saigon Drip has been on my list of places to go for a very long time! However, the fact that they close at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays makes it challenging unless you live/work near Pioneer Square! It must be that there aren't that many folks around here for dinner time, but I'd love it if they were open until even 6:00 p.m. on week days or just one day a week at a later time. I came down for some World cup festivities on a week day around 4:00 p.m. and utilized the opportunity to check them out! We shared the Banh Mi Drip, which is their most popular item, and for good reason! So much juicy tender meat and the caramelized onions just added depth and flavor. The bone marrow dipping broth makes this next level (and akin to a French dip, although WAY better in my opinion). I'd recommend eating this in store vs. getting to go as it can get soggy pretty quickly. Still tasty, but will be better in person, fresh. I didn't eve realize that it had pate on it (but after reading the description, that now makes sense why it was so flavorful). It was huge and enough for me to share (or for one person if you are very hungry). You order at the counter via a screen/app but there is staff around if you have a question. It's a casual spot but sufficient seating. They also have some Vietnamese coffee drinks which I would have gotten had it been morning and not afternoon. Nut allergy friendly: I didn't even ask, just assumed a banh mi wouldn't have any problems, and I didn't have any problems. Time to Order: 7 Minutes for a to-go order placed at the counter. They're pretty quick! Parking; Difficult, we parked a few streets away and walked. It's a small shop, but don't let looks fool you. You enter a very modern interior with small fun decorations like a Taylor Swift cutout and a selfie booth. Orders are self-service at two kiosks, and a team works to make orders very quickly. It was packed when we went, already a good sign. We got our banh mi to go and got them pretty quickly. I initially balked at a $17 banh mi, but the concept seemed interesting enough and it was very hyped up by a good friend of mine. The banh mi drip opens up to a baguette packed with onion, beef brisket, and some cilantro. They give a container of pho broth wide enough to actually dip the banh mi, which I appreciated. It stayed decently crispy with a 15 minute commute, but I'd definitely recommend it fresh. Really, it looked more like a French dip than a banh mi. Anyway. It's a genius concept. It's delicious. Probably in my top five meals I've had in all of my Seattle trips. It really begs the question - what else works as a dip? Can we do baos dipped in tonkatsu Ramen? It's like they took a birria taco with consumme and made it even better. It was really, really good. Saigon Drip Cafe is one of my favorite spots in the Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle. Not only is their logo cool, but I'm a fan of their free stickers and tote bag they give away with to go orders. They make delicious Banh Mi's. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their fillings, but I usually get the "Piggylicious". They also make mean Fresh Rolls. Shrimp is what I typically gravitate towards. My wife and I stumbled across Saigon Drip Cafe completely by chance while wandering around Seattle on a Saturday, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The cafe itself is on the smaller side and was quite busy when we arrived, which is usually a good sign. Even with the crowd, we were able to find a seat fairly quickly, and it was worth every minute. We both ordered the Banh Mi Drip, and I can honestly say it's the kind of meal that makes your mouth water just thinking about it afterward. The sandwich was absolutely loaded with meat - tender, juicy, flavorful, and generously portioned. Every bite was incredible. And then there was the pho broth. Wow, don't even get me started on that! Rich, deeply flavorful, and clearly made with care. Even on its own, it would have been worth the visit. What impressed us just as much was the value. The portions were generous, the quality was outstanding, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable, especially for Seattle. We left already talking about when we could justify making another trip across the water just to eat here again. That's probably the highest compliment I can give a restaurant. The environment is always incredibly clean (even their kitchen) and comfortable, which I really appreciate. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their restaurant. The food is also consistently great. That's one of the things that keeps my staff, family and friends coming back. Everything is fresh, flavorful and always prepared the same way every time I visit, which, to me, says a lot about their ownership and staff. Holy guacamole!! (Actually, no guacamole, this was Vietnamese food.) These were far and away the best Bahn Mis we've ever had. Self-service at the kiosks was easy, and staff were friendly when bringing out our meal. I got the grilled pork sandwhich; my wife had the cold cuts. WHOO this place was CROWDED and rightfully so! This was my second time coming here, the first was for a yelp event, and I was soooo glad I came back. We came around lunchtime so the place was packed but people rotate in and out pretty quickly so I was able to find a seat just as my food was ready. They are great with making sure their staff is nice and full so the service was quick despite the crowd and they were all so friendly and helpful. I love the vibe of this place and seeing it during Christmas time was cool. The food was SPECTACULAR as always. I had a 24 hour layover in Seattle and decided to yelp the area for pho. After reading the reviews, I had to check this place out. It did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is not big but I love the energy and the set up. There's enough space if you came with a group but you don't feel awkward if you do decide to come alone. There's smaller tables that make it easy to dine by yourself. I came for the pho but the reviews made me order the bahn mi drip as well. It was delicious! Very meat heavy so if that's what you enjoy, you will love this! I wish I ordered pickled vegetables to balance the sandwich more but you definitely get your moneys worth with the amount of meat in the sandwich. The pho was SO delicious that I swear I didn't use any sauce condiments. I truly didn't need any of it!! I was tempted to ask to take out just the broth so I could have it later. Ordered a bunch of the teas/coffees to go and tried them at home. Most delicious milk tea and Vietnamese coffees I've had in the states. I got the bahn mi drip, and there was too many onions for how much meat there was, the sandwich does not hold its shape because the bread disintegrates, and it was too single dimensional in flavor. I ordered 3 Banh Mi, 2 Pho GF* one with added brisket (not sure what GF stands for), 1 Vermicelli Noodle Bowl, and 2 Vietnamese Coffee that totaled about $124. You order at 2 P.O.S monitors at the front counter when you walk in. Their menu is a bit confusing. At least it was for me, so I took a little bit longer to get my order in. The workers were very helpful and friendly. Just ask anyone if you have any questions. It's not a very big seating area, so you have to be quick if it's busy and grab a seat(s) if you want to dine in. Their Pho broth and quality of ingredients was top notch. I tried my better half's Banh mi drip. The meat was so tender and the dipping broth was flavorful. My cult cut classic was just that. Classic flavors and ingredients of a Banh Mi on a toasted baguette. I enjoyed it. The coffee was nice and strong. Just how I love it. I got the iced Cafe Sua and one to go. I docked a star because we saw a reel on Instagram that this place was dog friendly and the dogs were eating in a very nice seating area (which we discovered was actually indoors) so I went out of my way to drive here to eat (not knowing what to expect since we are from Los Angeles). While I have no regrets with the food, when we got there, they told us that its service dogs only inside and the only dog friendly tables was two tables outside on the sidewalk (which is not what the reel depicted). Being in Pioneer Square, the sidewalk area is not the cleanest or most pleasant to sit outside. So maybe communication should be more clear. Also, I wanted the rib eye pho but that was MP. The place offers a very authentic banh mi while also having a clean, modern atmosphere. We ordered two banh mis. First of all, the Banh Mi Drip's marinated meat was insanely good--tender, flavorful, and juicy. Honestly, you almost don't need the broth to dip because the meat is already that juicy. Next time, I'd enjoy the broth just as a soup on the side. The cold cut classic had thick cuts, pâté, and all the right flavors comparable to some authentic spots in the ID. I randomly stumbled upon this restaurant between meetings and was pleasantly surprised by my experience. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by staff and oriented to the ordering process which was completed through the kiosk. A staff member brought me my food when my order was ready which was within five minutes. Multiple staff members checked on me and offered to bring cups of water. 10/10 service. I ordered the drip banh mi, and the meat was arguably some of the most tender, flavorful meat I've ever had in my life. The portion was extremely generous, and I ended up taking half home. Featured in a lot of foodie lists and blogs, this place has been bookmarked for quite a while and I finally got to try it. It took a while for me because the location is a bit hard to find parking, and I often try to not go around central downtown / pioneer square area. I got the banh mi drip ($17) and a side of mango salad. But I ordered via Grubhub solely because I had to use their monthly credits, and they do mark it up quite a lot but with my credits and offers, it ended up being cheaper to book non-direct. The banh mi drip has very generous amounts of brisket and it is so flavorful. The brisket has just the right amount of meat and it has really good texture. Like I can associate this brisket to the nice BBQ briskets I have been! On the side is a dipping bone marrow broth, so think about this dish as kind of like a French dip sandwich, but better. Half a sandwich is enough for a light meal, but because I am going on a trip the next day, I finished it all and I was so stuffed, in a good way. The mango salad is like a papaya salad but with mangoes instead. Mangoes start to be in season so I can savor the freshness and sweetness of the mangos, contrasting with the slightly spicy and tangy fish sauce dressing that I enjoyed. Fish sauce in the states are very hit or miss, but this one worked out. Prices are a bit intimidating but given the portions of respective ingredients, I am okay with it.
