    Bánh Mì Drip

Saigon Drip has been on my list of places to go for a very long time! However, the fact that they close at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays makes it challenging unless you live/work near Pioneer Square! It must be that there aren't that many folks around here for dinner time, but I'd love it if they were open until even 6:00 p.m. on week days or just one day a week at a later time. I came down for some World cup festivities on a week day around 4:00 p.m. and utilized the opportunity to check them out! We shared the Banh Mi Drip, which is their most popular item, and for good reason! So much juicy tender meat and the caramelized onions just added depth and flavor. The bone marrow dipping broth makes this next level (and akin to a French dip, although WAY better in my opinion). I'd recommend eating this in store vs. getting to go as it can get soggy pretty quickly. Still tasty, but will be better in person, fresh. I didn't eve realize that it had pate on it (but after reading the description, that now makes sense why it was so flavorful). It was huge and enough for me to share (or for one person if you are very hungry). You order at the counter via a screen/app but there is staff around if you have a question. It's a casual spot but sufficient seating. They also have some Vietnamese coffee drinks which I would have gotten had it been morning and not afternoon. I want to come back for the weekend as I understand there are some different menu items!

Nut allergy friendly: I didn't even ask, just assumed a banh mi wouldn't have any problems, and I didn't have any problems. Time to Order: 7 Minutes for a to-go order placed at the counter. They're pretty quick! Parking; Difficult, we parked a few streets away and walked. It's a small shop, but don't let looks fool you. You enter a very modern interior with small fun decorations like a Taylor Swift cutout and a selfie booth. Orders are self-service at two kiosks, and a team works to make orders very quickly. It was packed when we went, already a good sign. We got our banh mi to go and got them pretty quickly. I initially balked at a $17 banh mi, but the concept seemed interesting enough and it was very hyped up by a good friend of mine. The banh mi drip opens up to a baguette packed with onion, beef brisket, and some cilantro. They give a container of pho broth wide enough to actually dip the banh mi, which I appreciated. It stayed decently crispy with a 15 minute commute, but I'd definitely recommend it fresh. Really, it looked more like a French dip than a banh mi. Anyway. It's a genius concept. It's delicious. Probably in my top five meals I've had in all of my Seattle trips. It really begs the question - what else works as a dip? Can we do baos dipped in tonkatsu Ramen? It's like they took a birria taco with consumme and made it even better. It was really, really good. Unfortunately, we also tried their regular pork banh mi and I found it great with the veggies, but very short on the meat. (2.5/5). Skip it. Just get the dipping banh mi. That's carrying their entire score. Would love to try their bun bo hue hot pot. I'd let these guys cook.

Saigon Drip Cafe is one of my favorite spots in the Pioneer Square neighborhood of Seattle. Not only is their logo cool, but I'm a fan of their free stickers and tote bag they give away with to go orders. They make delicious Banh Mi's. I don't think you can go wrong with any of their fillings, but I usually get the "Piggylicious". They also make mean Fresh Rolls. Shrimp is what I typically gravitate towards. They make tasty drinks, too. Yep, they drip in both style and the food they serve ;-)

The first time I had the Spam Slammin Egg was at a catered work event & I knew I had to have it again at Saigon Drip. It's truly so delicious and I've told multiple people about it. One of the best Bánh Mì's I've ever had... it may be my favorite ever. I appreciate the efficient, counter service vibe and tables inside. I'm truly a fan of Saigon Drip and will continue to revisit!

I absolutely love Saigon Drip!! The customer service here is truly top-tier. From the moment you walk in, they treat you like family and make you feel genuinely welcome every single time. The environment is always incredibly clean (even their kitchen) and comfortable, which I really appreciate. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their restaurant. The food is also consistently great. That's one of the things that keeps my staff, family and friends coming back. Everything is fresh, flavorful and always prepared the same way every time I visit, which, to me, says a lot about their ownership and staff. Honestly, this isn't just one of my favorite Vietnamese and pho spots in Seattle, it's one of my favorite restaurants overall. If you're looking for great food, great service, and a place that makes you feel appreciated as a customer, this is definitely the spot. Highly recommend! Easy 5 Stars

Parking: paid street parking only unless Sunday. Honestly it's overpriced. We served ourselves - cleaned up a dirty table when we arrived and bussed our own dirty plates after. Ordered via a tablet and there's no service or free water. It's limited tables/seating inside. We both ordered the beef brisket Bahn mi. The broth was luke warm, not hot, and too salty. The brisket would have tasted better if it came with pickled veggies. And it's a little sweet. We wouldn't come again.

It's packed and I'm PUMPED to have this again!!!

WHOO this place was CROWDED and rightfully so! This was my second time coming here, the first was for a yelp event, and I was soooo glad I came back. We came around lunchtime so the place was packed but people rotate in and out pretty quickly so I was able to find a seat just as my food was ready. They are great with making sure their staff is nice and full so the service was quick despite the crowd and they were all so friendly and helpful. I love the vibe of this place and seeing it during Christmas time was cool. The food was SPECTACULAR as always. I was trying to suppress the delightful sighs that wanted to escape after each bite of sandwich, melting in my mouth, and each sip of bone broth. 11/10

Steak didn't cook because broth was not hot.

Came here for some comfort pho based on great reviews. Ordered pickup and I was there before it was ready, hotel was 5 min drive and the pho was cold. I paid extra for rare steak and it wouldn't even cook!!!. I valet my car so it was literally 8 mins to eat. Horrible experience and overall the food wasn't good or authentic. Family is Viet and the pho went to waste.

Such a cute, swanky, place with an ode to Vietnam. I love the art, plants and recycled code container canisters! I ordered from their computer screens but there were people there to help if needed. Delicious Tofu Bahn Mi!! Well balanced flavors and textures. Strong Vietnamese coffee, mine could've used a little more sweetened condensed milk but that could be just my taste buds. I've only gone once but definitely want to try their pho or pho dip with my sandwich!

    Ribeye pho hotpot
    Matthew Y.

Came in for the ribeye pho hotpot and a grilled chicken bánh mì. The hotpot was a showstopper.... generous portions of ribeye in a rich, flavorful broth with a huge basket of fresh accompaniments (noodles, bean sprouts, herbs, cabbage, lime, chili). Great for sharing.

I had a 24 hour layover in Seattle and decided to yelp the area for pho. After reading the reviews, I had to check this place out. It did not disappoint! The restaurant itself is not big but I love the energy and the set up. There's enough space if you came with a group but you don't feel awkward if you do decide to come alone. There's smaller tables that make it easy to dine by yourself. I came for the pho but the reviews made me order the bahn mi drip as well. It was delicious! Very meat heavy so if that's what you enjoy, you will love this! I wish I ordered pickled vegetables to balance the sandwich more but you definitely get your moneys worth with the amount of meat in the sandwich. The pho was SO delicious that I swear I didn't use any sauce condiments. I truly didn't need any of it!! I was tempted to ask to take out just the broth so I could have it later. Ordered a bunch of the teas/coffees to go and tried them at home. Most delicious milk tea and Vietnamese coffees I've had in the states. The Thai tea was a little too much for my personal taste but the rest of it was amazing. I will be back the next time I'm in Seattle!

    Tori Z.

Saigon drip was not worth the hype. I got the bahn mi drip, and there was too many onions for how much meat there was, the sandwich does not hold its shape because the bread disintegrates, and it was too single dimensional in flavor. There are much better places for a sandwich in Seattle, this just doesn't make the cut for me.

    Stephen P.

Got the grilled pork banh mi, it's good, but I don't know if it's $15 good, when there are better and cheaper options elsewhere. Size was pretty small also for the price.

Fast forward a year later to a Sunday at 12:30pm and I finally made the long drive here without going through Aurora Ave since my GPS randomly decided to give my road rage some grace. This place has plenty parking around the perimeter, so it was easy settling in. Only confusion was finding the entrance to this place, but when I did I was actually surprised where I was stepping into. Inside is laid back and cool with plenty of seating for groups of various sizes. There's tables and booths, and I got booth seating for myself when I walked in. There's a TV playing sports nearby where I was, and Vietnamese pop music was playing in the background too. Menu consists of regular foods in most Vietnamese restaurants, though their provincial noodle soups and banh mi sandwiches caught my eye. They even have bún măng vịt (duck and bamboo shoot noodle soup), my favorite that I gotta try next time I come here! From my IG feeds and as a starting point, I got their bánh mì thịt heo nướng (grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich), which comes with all the works of a regular banh mi sandwich, though I was kinda surprised how brightly orange the grilled pork was. Regardless, it was tasty and the meat was juicy. The pork pate added a nice savory touch to the sandwich, and no other condiment was in excess that it took away taste from the flavorful grilled pork. Staff was very kind throughout, and refilled my water every now and then. It was also nice chatting with one of them about our day and other recommendations from the menu. But that's the only beef I have with Ba Bar. NOTE: The pics below are from my review 10 years ago. Sorry I don't have any recent pics. Alas, they no longer offer the catfish or the beautiful, layered cronut. Tears.

The prices felt very high for the portion sizes, and the food didn't taste authentic to me. I came during happy hour, which requires purchasing at least a $6 drink with each food item which was ok, but it didn't feel worth it. I ordered the egg rolls appetizer and was surprised to receive only one egg roll cut into bite-sized pieces. After adding the drink minimum, I ended up spending about $14 for a single egg roll and a small serving of vegetables, which felt very overpriced for what I received. Overall, the food wasn't bad, but it also wasn't memorable enough to justify the cost. With so many great Vietnamese restaurants nearby, I'd probably choose somewhere else the next time I'm craving Vietnamese food.

Honestly this has been one of our favorite dinner date experiences in Seattle this year!…read more Food blew our mind! Especially the appetizers! We loved the hollow bread, clams, and the egg! The noodles were tasty but we felt didn't quite fit the flavor palate. The pork was honestly a bit on the salty side. We ended our night with their scallion cake which was tasty! Service was friendly and wonderful to start but we noticed by the end of the night they kind of forgot about us and it took quite a while to order dessert and get our check to leave. That was a tiny bummer for the overall experience but we really love this spot and will continue to recommend it! Especially for the appetizers!

We arrived for our reservation on time but there was a small wait since we had larger party. We were able to get some drinks at the bar while we waited so there was no issues at all. Once we were seated we got a great overview of the menu from our server. We loved everything so much that we made a reservation for the next day on the spot. Hamachi Crudo 5/5: The kumquat sorbet with the yellowtail was amazing. It made the fish bright and refreshing. Grilled Cabbage 5/5: An unexpected top 3. Didnt think much of it since it's a cabbage, but it became a star at our table. We ordered an extra one on our second day. Will definitely be thinking about this one. Manilla Clams 5/5: For our table of 8, we ordered 4. It was nice and savory, add the sliced kumquat to add some acidity! amazing! Oysters 4/5: First day we got the oysters as is, but the second day we knew that they used to serve it with some type of fish sauce. Our server brought out the yuzu fish sauce, game changer with the oysters! We honestly tried everything on the menu by the end of the second day, even the desserts but those are my must haves. Thank you to Ramie and team for such a great birthday dinner and we will definitely be back next year!

I can't say it was anything super special but it was definitely worth a try. Food & drink: (4/5) There are for sure certain items that they excel at and some that need some work. We got the banh uot tower with heo quay, banh khot, banh mi chao, and com tam. I see the appeal of the eye catching banh uot tower, but unfortunately I felt like it was very mediocre. I felt like the portion of veggie and meat wasn't enough for all the rice rolls, plus the actual heo quay was dry with barely any crispy skin. I think they also forgot to give us the heo quay because we had to ask for it much after the banh uot came out. I would skip this next time. I would also skip the banh khot as it was on the softer, chewier side when my personal preference is light and crispy. Those who do like it soft will definitely enjoy it though. As for flavor, it had an extremely prominent coconut taste- it usually isn't so strong in banh khot so I wasn't so fond of this. My family did really enjoy the com tam and banh mi chao. I only had one bite of each, but I would get these items again. Their drinks on the other hand, were delightful. I got the tamarind black tea and my step dad got the lychee green tea. Both were super refreshing and even addicting. I think they tend to do sweet items better, including their rice crispy treats that they sell on the front counter. Service: (4/5) The service here didn't really stand out much but I didn't pay much mind to it. They were very nice but there was a sense of disorganization, mostly due to us not being acknowledged when we first walked in and having some of our food forgotten about.

I ordered the stir-fry egg noodles, which were very good, but not worth the price. I also ordered the Pandan Vietnamese coffee, which was excellent. I definitely recommend that. Something I didn't enjoy was the service. There really wasn't much service at all. We walked in and were pointed to a table with menus, but there were no utensils or water. We had to struggle to get the staff's attention whenever we needed something for the table, so that's definitely a one-star experience for me. Fortunately, the ambiance was great. It's a very nicely decorated place, so I guess they have that going for them. Will I be coming back? For the coffee, yes. For the food, no. For the service, absolutely not. Anyway, I'm glad I tried it.
