Last three times the baby back ribs were tough, less than flavorful and over cooked. I gave them more chances but the ribs have always been tough and overcooked. Not good. Employees were masked and bluntly stated I to put on my mask in my car. I put on my mask but told them I was not happy about wearing a mask in my own car. Just saying. I'm a home smoker, take that as you may. The jerk chix was good. The slaw stood out to me. Loved the flavors. Brisket was ok, not dry at all, but not that fragile beef deliciousness. Pulled pork was a winner. Ribs were above average. They deliberately have a meaty not soft texture. I appreciated them. Carolina bbq sauce was good. During the pandemic I know a lot of places had issues with quality. And I know one of the complaints as I would stand in line for my order was people being upset about the brisket price. I never order the brisket, so I've never personally had a gripe with pricing, though I get why that could be inconvenient for others. As for my experience, the quality of the food really depends on the time of day you pick it up, and how it's cooked (like sometimes it's good, and something it's like reallyyyy good), but I have never had a "bad" experience from Ray Ray's. The staff has always been friendly, never got an order wrong or forgot something over the couple years I have been going. And that's really all I can ask for as far as service goes. Well my first visit to the Westerville location did not go well. It's a really nice spread and smelled delicious! It's Thursday witch means Burnt Ends! I went up to order about 11:17am ( they open at 11) and was told they would check to see If they are ready and we'll they were not....I was told It would be about an hour. ????? My work days at the office are so much better from Tuesday to Friday. You wanna know why? It's because I am closer to a pulled pork sandwich! I'm so happy that the business made its way up to Westerville. The food is the same quality as the truck in Clintonville. I have to admit, I slept on the baked beans and, to be quite honest, I've never been a fan of them. That day changed when I finally tried your beans and I've been hooked. In some crazy, little way, its almost like eating dessert after I've finished my pulled pork sandwich and collard greens. The crew always makes me feel at home and they greatly appreciate newbies and regulars, and anyone in between. I about piddled with excitement when I saw that Ray Ray's had taken over the old Barbecue Shack location. I've been a fan of their food for years, but the trek over to Clintonville was just too much. I've had just about everything on their menu and never had a bad experience. The best thing they serve though is the grass-fed beef brisket. It is only available on Sundays but is worth the extra cost. The baby back ribs in Ray Ray's dry rub come in a very close second. They are so flavorful and moist. While visiting one time I heard several people complain about the lack of parking. I don't know how the missed it, but there is a great big parking lot for Home Depot right there. If you park on the edge of the Home Depot parking lot and walk it is a shorter walk than the parking situation at most large chain restaurants. The only reason why I'm knocking off a star is because they need to come up with a way to alert patrons as to what is sold out. I understand that the popular foods will run out. That's the nature of the food truck business. But to wait in a long line only to be told when it is your turn to order that all they have left is a one type of meal is a kick in the gut. Our daughter brought home Ray Ray's and everyone else loved it. She brought home brisket for our son, cheesy potatoes, and the jerk BBQ with buns for the rest of us. I've had real Carribean jerk BBQ in Jamaica, St Thomas, and Grand Cayman and I loved it. Now I make it at home. I just can't eat hot spicy food anymore and I found Ray Ray's to be far too spicy hot for me and the cheesy potatoes were too much for me - I don't eat saucy fatty foods anymore. I gave Ray Ray's 4 stars because everyone else loved it. Our daughter and her friend get it at least once a week. I really appreciate that the business commented on my review, offering an alternative I might prefer. I love ribs and will be sure to give them a try! read more

This was my first time at this location and overall, I'd give it a 8/10. The guy taking our order was very friendly and kept a conversation with me and my two friends. I ordered a half slab of spare ribs and it was appetizing. The only downside to my meal was that some of the ribs had sections where salt must have not been evenly spread as it was very salty. I sat in my car for close to 15 mins scrolling through yelp reviews to see if I wanted to give this joint a chance. I was hella hesitant after reading some of the reviews coupled with the fact that I couldn't smell any wood smoke in the air. Nonetheless, against my better judgement I parked my car and ordered a half rack of ribs only. The ribs were TERRIBLE. Like others have mentioned the ribs were tough as hell. After spending $11 on food that should of been ready to eat, I came home and wrapped the overcooked ribs in foil and baked them low and slow to moisten them up. I've had Ray Rays before in Franklinton (near Strongwater) and it was amazing but this location sucks. I regretted ordering the ribs and will never give them a try ever again. read more

The only reason why this review gets two stars is because the food is delicious. When me and my family went in today we were astounded by how rude the employee at the window was from start to finish. He made it seem as i was an inconvenience to him for being there to place an order. It was my parents first time coming and they needed a minute to decide. I wish i would have read the reviews before hand because there was a recent review written about the same employee. Sad to see my love for Ray Rays fall because of the employees they have working for them. I would not recommend the Westerville location. Ordered a full slab of short ribs and half pound of brisket for 3 girls and we were all very full at the end of it. We got the sweet barbecue sauce and it was good but the meat didn't seem that amazing. The price point is pretty good ($28 for it all) but the brisket was rather dry and tough and the ribs weren't the best I've had. The line didn't move too fast but the wait wasn't long after ordering. If you're looking for an indoor place to eat, you won't find it here. There are tables & benches with umbrellas overtop but the building is small and it's more of a walk-up ordering situation. Also, their immediate parking lot along the building is small but there are tons of spots available in the plaza, so parking is not an issue here. Perhaps the quality and timing was just lacking since it's a new location. I've had ray ray's at their other location and I remember it being better, but I could be wrong. Normally i am not one to leave reviews but after my experience today i thought it was necessary. After working a long day i decided to stop in to get barbecue. The mask requirement is new to all of us and they do require masks at their walk up window which i think is good to protect everyone they are serving. However today when i came in I accidentally forgot to grab my mask out of my car until the man in the window abruptly asked me to put on a mask. My response was "Im sorry I left it in my car" and as i turned back around to go get it I heard him say "yeah turn your ass around and get your mask" underneath his breath. I thought that was absurd to say to a customer under any circumstances especially when i was gladly going to go put on a mask. I am sure he did not think that i would be able to hear him. I did decide to place and order anyways and the food was delicious but if there is the same man who looks to be in his late 30s with tattoos there I wouldn't even bother. I loved ray rays but its sad to see them hiring people who dont have common customer service skills and respect for others. I was finally able to eat here. It took a while, not sure why, but who cares, right? Anyway, I ordered their Jerky chicken sandwich and cheesy taters, 12 Smackers! Both items was worth the 12 million Bs.F (venezuelan bolivar). Let's start with the very well seasoned Jerky chicken sandwich on a sesame bun with to very succulent, moist, juicy and plump breasts! Gotta love the breast, honestly I wasn't expecting two chicken breast on a sandwich. However, I was delighted when I saw it. My only negative with the sandwich was they were out of the onion pickled topping which normally comes on the sandwich. Instead they offered and put on their coleslaw on the sandwich. Which didn't enhance the sandwich nor did it distract from it. It was still good. Now my fave, item of the combo meal was the CHEESY TATERS. It's creamy cheese and ultra-tender potatoes made forget about the last year and it gave me a new found love and hope for the future. Seriously, you have to try it. I became a fan of Ray Ray's Hog Pit on High St. My favorite thing to get there is the brisket. So I figured that I would travel out to Westerville and check their location out there. I will say that I was not disappointed. They had the same taste that I had grown accustomed to with the High st. location. The meat just melts in your mouth it's so good. The big bonus of this location vs. the High St. one. Is that they have a drive-thru. Whaaaa?! I know right? This is a big game changer. I have used the drive-thru feature at this location 3 times and you get excellent and surprisingly quick service. The staff is very knowledgable as well as friendly. Ive tried this place a couple times. My reason for 4 stars vs 5 is simply the inconsistency. The first time I had ribs there I didn't care for them at all, they were super dry. The second time they were amazing. I had baby back and st louis style both times. I got the spicy rub and it was super delicious. The ribs the second time were mouth watering and super delicious and meaty. I loved them. Their bbq sauces are also super tasty. My favorite thing at this place? The cornbread pudding. OH MY GOSH! Stopped here last weekend to pick up a rack of ribs and a couple sides for dinner. The price was ok and the sides were better than average. The ribs however was another story. I LOVE ribs, in fact it's my go to Birthday meal for at least the last 5 or 6 years. The sauce was good but the ribs did not come off the bone well. The meat was fatty but that would have been ok if they cooked them longer. After one bite I had to stop and decided to cook them longer at home (like another hour and a half). This softened the fat up and melted some of the fat and the rib meat came apart much better. How a rib place can offer such tough meat and not know when it's ready to serve...
