Food gets 6 stars! The special grassfed brisket is incredible, dry rubbed spare ribs are fantastic, and I love the greens (they're spicy, meaty, and hide the fact you are eating veggies!). The only downside was getting honked at and flicked off because the parking/entrance situation is awful. No signage, they want it to be one way (enter from Home Depot only!) and if you don't follow this underground rule the other patrons will run you off. I won't make that mistake again. Mediocre and overpriced. I don't know if we went on a bad day or if the the positive reviews are written by the proprietors but our experience was less than stellar and a far cry from the BBQ Shack that this establishment has replaced. It's an awkward set up with a nearly empty drink refrigerator outside. Unless you want Diet Coke or one of several never heard of before bottled soda, your only option is overpriced bottled water. My wife and I both ordered a pulled pork sandwich with one TINY and not very good side a piece. I had the "spicy Habanero" sauce it had apparently been thinned with water because it was neither hot nor flavorful. The Baked Beans and Cole slaw were the same as the BBQ, just okay. The two sandwiches and a side and drink for each of us was $22. and change. . The proprietors and I assume their grown children were sitting at a picknic table asking people what they had ordered and what they thought of their experience as patrons left. My wife asked me to avoid them because she would have been mortified had I told them my impression in person. A two star is being somewhat generous. read more

New location in a previous BBQ Hut. The pulled pork was OK not much flavor or smoke taste. Did get the carolina sauce, Taste like they put a bunch vinegar in their tomato based sauce. Not bad, but not NC sauce. The st.louis ribs were much bigger and not done. The baby back were done but not tender or fall off the bone. This may be because it was 11am. We've had the food three or four times now, just to try everything on the menu. I'm sorry to say, I enjoyed the old BBQ place at this location a lot more than the new one. The old place offered an amazing smoked cheeseburger, great smoked chicken wings, and delicious French fries. Ray Ray's has none of these and I miss them all! read more

This place has so much potential, but falls short in too many ways to give it more than 3 stars. The Clintonville location is much better run. First, their meats are quality. The brisket is delicious, and their bbq sauces are house made and really tasty. Their ribs are pretty good as well, but their sides fall short in my opinion. Often, the coleslaw is just chopped cabbage with a pool of white liquid underneath it, as it doesn't hold together well. The mac and cheese is okay, but tastes somewhat different each time I'm there. The baked beans are also sub par, taking on a very sour flavor, not smoky or reminiscent of baked beans you'd expect at a bbq. They frequently run out of ingredients early, which isn't atypical of a bbq joint, but it's happened so often that you would think they would adjust the amount they make on a given day. They need to get more drinks or at least fill the cooler, there was only coke and weird bottled sodas I've never heard of- on a Saturday at 630pm the place wasn't busy. I heard people order a sampler platter and things that weren't on the menu. Something about returning patrons from the truck, that rubbed me the wrong way as I would have liked that option. They need to have extra sauces available on the side, my sandwich didn't have nearly enough BBQ sauce. The baked Beans had three large chunks of fat and very liquid and not enough beans, more like a soup... I would rather go to City BBQ where there are more side options, and fountain drinks or free water. Not worth it... read more

This place is awesome. We were visiting the area from out of town, and Ray Ray's was recommended to us. The first time, we had the spare ribs. Delicious! We had to come back just a few days later on Sunday to try the beef brisket. Again, delicious! We also enjoyed the mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. Even in this time (June 2020), their drive-thru and walk-up window are both open. I highly recommend this restaurant, and will definitely go back the next time we travel near Columbus. read more

Stopped into the Westerville drive thru last weekend and ordered some brisket, a pulled pork sandwich and some sides. As I was driving to my daughters apartment, I was trying to justify the $25 charge for the food....I'm pretty sure I was overcharged, but I thought I would check the receipt when I got there. When we did get there, I discovered that I had no receipt and no pulled pork sandwich. So I called the number on their website and left a detailed message on the answering service. This was Sunday so I figured I would get a call back at least by Monday. Never received a call or refund to my credit card. So I paid $25 for some brisket and two sides. Not worth my time to drive all the way back to confront them, so I guess they have my money. Check you order before you leave and get a receipt. And yes, I take some responsibility because I didn't do this. No excuse for not getting a call back from Ray Ray's. read more

Well, let me start by saying, I'm a little biased. Texas brisket and Georgia and Carolina pork are my favorites. That being said, Ray Rays dry rub ribs are meaty, have a perfect amount of fat and the smoke is superb! Pulled pork sandwich good but a little pricey. Best smoked Pork/Beef in town. They serve chicken, beef brisket, chopped or pulled pork, baby back and spare ribs. A couple simple and delicious sides (Mac, greens, cheeses potatoes and slaw). Service with a smile. It's walk-up window service, i.e. it's simple and the nicest staff I've ever with met. We saw a man in the Home Depot parking lot with a whole tray of BBQ meats in his lap. I suspected it came from the small drive though near by. I was right! My wife and I shared the "Meat Sweats" and a side of Collard Greens. This place blew the other BBQ competition in the "City" away! It absolutely made our day. I took away lunch one Friday. I ordered a rack of back ribs, brisket sandwich, potato salad, and cole slaw. It they always screw you at the drive through! I came home with spare ribs instead of back ribs, but they were still delicious. The brisket sandwich was great too (they forgot the BBQ sauce, but I believe it was better dry). Sides were OK. Good barbecue should not need a lot of sauce, the smoke and rub should season it. the sauce here is on the side and is really not needed unless you want an added flavor. The food was beyond delicious! I was in on Sunday and was super impressed with everything. I got the beef brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese. The brisket was super tender and the Mac and cheese was probably some of the best I've had at any restaurant. My meal was $13, but was more than worth it for the quality I received. The staff however was really what made the experience worth it. The girl in the window, I believe her name was dakota, was super personable and was able to answer every question I had about the menu! So excited to have Ray Rays in Westerville! I have been to the new location a few times already and it is consistently great. I brought my son with me today and upon hearing it was his first visit Alec offered my son a forkful of brisket and he was hooked. Each time I've been Alec has been at the window and is always helpful and friendly. The downside of ray rays is that it's so good that everyone wants some, so you're gonna wait! But it's worth it!! Do yourself a favor and check these guys out, plan ahead and give yourself some extra time and know that you're either eating outside or taking it home. One of my favorite places for BBQ! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu though. The brisket is tender and flavorful and the ribs are second to none. Hard to choose a favorite side but probably have to go with the baked beans. I love how easy it is to get in and out of this location too. Brisket was good, the St Louis ribs were horrid, actually threw them out they were so tough. Mac and cheese was like some Pasta noodles with some shredded cheese melted on top, very dry. Today I waited in line 20 min at 4PM to purchase the Meat Sweat combo. At the window I was told they were out of : BRISKET, HOT LINKS and PULLED PORK. That is 3/5 of the choices in the combo. This is 5 hours into their work day with 4 hours remaining on a Saturday. The last time I visited it was also at dinnner time and they had no ribs. I am amazed at the high reviews this establishment gets! When do you get to eat the BBQ? And why on earth would a business that is in business to sell BBQ not have any to sell? After that fact, why couldn't you at least be kind enough to greet cars to say that you have no product to sell so that your potential customer can at least choose to bail out of the line and go to City BBQ where there is always plenty of BBQ available?? read more

I talked my work group into coming here for a team lunch and it was a good call. The place used to be one of the drive up film places so it was fun to see it getting a new use. We waited in a line that was backed up to the road and were surprised that it only took about 10 mins to get our order in. I have had a lot of their stuff and nothing will compare to the rib tips on Thursdays but this time I got the ribs. They weren't all I hoped they would be but they were pretty decent. Everyone else loved their food and was excited about the portions so I think it wasn't them but rather me. I will never stop coming to Ray Rays but ribs aren't in my future. They have picnic tables outside to sit at when it is nice and that let's you eat it hot from the press. If you haven't had Ray Rays then this is a must try spot. If you have tried Ray Rays then you already know to go there and don't need my input. read more

Consistently excellent chicken, pork and beef brisket. I love the grass-fed brisket they have on some Sundays as well. The sides are great. They have a burnt-ends sandwich that is great when they have it. Plus, the staff is friendly and funny. Then there's the ribs, oh, the ribs - and this is from someone who really never "got" the "rib-thing" till I had Ray Ray's. Fantastic! I always order mine with the dry-rub and no sauce. Every few weekends they'll have some kind of one-off cook of something special. The meat-corn was a knock-out. Plus I hear they may be doing some kind of smoked sausage soon. Can't wait. read more
