I've travelled all over the USA and had barbecue in Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia and Now, OHIO. Found this little gem after a weekend getaway to Columbus. The barbecue was delicious, great flavor in the sauces, cornbread was the best I've ever had, dirty beans were very tasty, even the chocolate pie was homemade. Great location, I highly recommend.

This place does an amazing job at smoked meats! I got the sampler platter , which included 3 meats and a sample of all 6 sides and cornbread for $15. I also got the smoked cheesecake and a banana pudding. All of which were homemade and delicious !!

So I drove all the way out here on my west to find awesome barbeque around central Ohio. When I first arrived, the first thing I noticed were the dirty tables. I was trying to find one to sit at and it was like trying to find gold in California. I then. Noticed all the news personalities that had been here on the wall. I ordered the brisket with fries and one wing. I asked for the barky brisket but got a lot of fat. So that was a minus. My mouth was all set for some awesome cue once I got past that. Well I was not too impressed by the brisket. It wasn't really tender and it tasted kind of off. Not sure if they seasoned it enough. The fries were good but they put a lot of salt in them. The wings though. I will say I would drive back for the wings. They tasted AMAZING! If crack were chicken wings, these would be the wings to have everyone in a 12 step recovery program.

Well, had to take my brother to see the FatMan finally. Of course had to get him the FatMan Special. He was more than happy afterwards. Had to wheel him out. Food is always great. The FatMan is always there to talk to you. He is what every business owner should be, completely down to earth and a great guy. Thanks FatMan!!!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch after fishing. The place threw us off just because it wasn't what we were expecting. It was pretty small. But we stopped and went inside. I got the Oak Hill Sampler that came with 4 sides (pickled peppers, greens, cole slaw, and like a cabbage slaw) and my wife got the chicken legs with fries(literally small turkey legs and fries were crispy perfect). Food was great and the guys there were very nice. He asked if I'd leave a yelp review, well here it is buddy!!! Great food and great service, will come back again!

Pulled pork. So juicy I didn't even put sauce on it. Smoked cabbage was delicious.

The service here is phenomenal. The owner greets everyone like he's known them for years, people walked up to him with the same familiarity. From reading the Yelp reviews I knew to walk inside to order. But I can see how that might have confused some folks (not worth docking points though. Come on.) I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of smoked cabbage. The sandwich was piled high with some of the juiciest pulled pork I've ever tasted. So juicy that I didn't even need to put a drop of sauce on it. The smoked cabbage was tangy and crunchy and perfect. I was hesitant to skip out of something cheese covered or deep fried, now I'll be hard pressed to ever stray from it. More than enough food and tough to beat at $8. My only complaint is that I came so hungry I inhaled my meal, only to wish it would reappear on the tray. Will be back, soon.

Full slab of meaty delicious ribs.

In central Ohio good BBQ is very hard to find. Oak Hill BBQ in Sunbury is an oasis of deliciousness in a desert of bland fast food style BBQ. Everything is made in house with love by the proprietor Ron "Fat Man". All of the meat is seasoned to perfection, so the sauce is only needed as a compliment. The gold sauce is spectacular! All of the desired BBQ staples are available. The lineup includes: Beef brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork, ribs, rib tips, and the most delicious jumbo chicken wings I've ever tasted. All of the sandwiches are a half pound of meat. The fat man really lets his passion show in his side dishes. From spaghetti mac to his smoked greens all of the sides are inventive and delicious. Try the dirty beans because they will knock your socks off. I don't even like pinto beans, but these are excellent. Fat Man also does daily specials such as Taco Tuesdays, Chicken and Noodles on Wednesdays, and Fried Chicken Fridays. He also has orgasmic homemade desserts including Granny Smith apple crisp, Nilla wafer banana pudding, and cherry cheesecake. Throw in real southern style sweet tea, and it makes for the perfect BBQ experience. My wife went back the next day. Take a trip to Sunbury for Oak Hill. You will not regret the trip. BBQ lovers will most assuredly become repeat customers.

Try the smoked cabbage and the drumsticks but the Fat man special is the way to go if you want it all!

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND EAT HERE!!! First off the owner (Ron Mosley aka The Fat Man) is amazing and personally takes your order. But I'm from Oklahoma and have lived in Kansas and this is THE BEST BBQ I have ever had!! Everything is authentic and amazing! I had the chicken drumsticks and I've never had anything like them(Not Fried)! All of the sides are delicious(we got the fat man special) but I HIGHLY Recommend the smoked cabbage!!

I would give 6 stars if I could. Very good. Friendly. We stopped while on a road trip. Glad we did.

Might want to call ahead before making the drive over. Drove over at 2:30 on a Wednesday and they were closed.

They appear to be closed indefinitely. Website, Yelp and Google say "open" but the place was closed at lunchtime on a weekday.

We ordered the fried mozzarella which again was plated very nicely! They had great cheese pool and came out hot. We would have preferred the sauce on the bottom to not have been there since by the time we got to the last mozzarella it was soggy. They are definitely worth a try The mini corn dogs were good and the fresh fries perfectly cooked!! Whisky burger: the glaze was phenomenal, the burger flavorful but the bacon tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day and just warmed up. I would get again minus the bacon. The chicken Philly was filling and flavorful. I enjoyed the chips!!! 3 stars on food, 4 on service, 5 starts on decorations and atmosphere The kids burger with bacon was ok I was told and she didn't like the bacon either but the enjoyed the burgers without The kids Mac and cheese was good and creamy! They came out looking like plain, boiled wings and very unappealing. Also ordered a side, also unappetizing. Sent both back and ordered chili. There was a five dollar difference between my first order and the chili. The server gave me a bill for the meal I sent back and got mad when I pointed it out and politely asked for the correct one. She argued that they were the same. When she returned with the right one, she slapped it down on the table and was very rude. Why would I ever return?

Where Breakfast Pizza Rules and the Morning Rush Tests Your Patience Skills…read more I swung into PJ's Family Restaurant because someone whispered the words breakfast pizza, and honestly, that's all the marketing I need. I ordered it -- and wow. Very good. So good, in fact, that I'm now convinced their regular pizza is probably amazing too. I must return for scientific research. This place was super crowded at 9:00 AM. I'm talking "half the county wanted eggs at the same time" crowded. I grabbed a seat at the bar, which at least gave me front-row seating for the Breakfast Olympics happening. The servers? Absolutely slammed. They were doing laps around the restaurant like they were training for a marathon. Zero blame -- just respect. If you come here during peak hours, bring patience. And maybe a snack. I also grabbed to-go fuel for the tribe: biscuits and gravy, French toast, and bacon -- classic hits across the board. They inhaled everything with the enthusiasm of people who hadn't eaten in 3 days. I'll definitely be back -- but next time I'll arrive earlier, like the seasoned diner ninja I aspire to be. Final Verdict: PJ's serves comfort food worth the wait, breakfast pizza worth a pilgrimage, and morning chaos with a smile.
