Went in for dinner on a Saturday night - we got seated quickly (there was a wait when we left) and the staff did a great job checking on us. We stopped into Distract 13 and had the Mexican Street cork, which was plated nicely, but unfortunately we were not a fan. The flavor wasn't there and the chips were stale. We ordered the fried mozzarella which again was plated very nicely! They had great cheese pool and came out hot. We would have preferred the sauce on the bottom to not have been there since by the time we got to the last mozzarella it was soggy. They are definitely worth a try The mini corn dogs were good and the fresh fries perfectly cooked!! Whisky burger: the glaze was phenomenal, the burger flavorful but the bacon tasted like it was cooked earlier in the day and just warmed up. I would get again minus the bacon. Don't let the food photos fool you. Party of 2 arrived around 2 PM on a Saturday, a few other patrons in the restaurant but mostly empty. The sign said wait to be seated so we did, which took a while and what seemed like the busser was the one to seat us. After sitting at the bar, a young lad greeted us and got us waters. The bar top (employee working area) was anabolic absolute mess. I wanted a dirty shirley and he said he couldn't make it (assuming too young to handle alcohol) but asked the other bartender to get it for me. We placed our order for appetizers, pictured here. The food finally came out and looked nice but after taking a few bites realized it was seriously lacking ANY flavor. We were going to place an order for main course but decided to check out instead considering I still had not received my drink. Not for any purpose of them being busy, but because the bartender spent the majority of her time talking to two people seated at a table near the bar. The place was cleaner than a whistle and the service was smoother than buttered noodles (which, yes, made an appearance later). I started with the Fish and Chips--crispy, golden, and proud enough to fly their own Union Jack. Then came the Bangkok Brussels, which were so good they made me question every other vegetable I've ever snubbed. Crispy, tangy, and just a little spicy--like a flirty text from Thailand. And because I travel with a tribe that eats like champions, I brought home the Nashville Chicken Pasta (think hot chicken meets creamy goat cheese over linguine--it shouldn't work, but it does). The Chicken Littles were not so little--more like chicken "bigs" in panko armor, with fries that disappeared faster than peace in the Hunger Games. The sleeper hit? After leaving Surve without eating we drove across the square to District 13. We were able to get a table without a wait. The menu had many appetizing offerings- We finally decided on our choices- I got mahi-mahi fish tacos and my friend got the chicken sandwich with caprese salad on it. The meals were large and yummy. The fries were perfect- crispy outside and creamy inside with great flavor. My only negative were the chips and salsa that came with my dish. Chips were stale and the salsa was dry and flavorless. Service was excellent even though they were a little short staffed. We will go back here again. Parking is a problem-only street parking , no lots available. read more

This was my first visit to District 13 but certainly won't be my last. My wife and I try to go out to lunch every Wednesday and we have to find restaurants that aren't part of a national or regional chain. We like the small, independently owned and operated, local establishments. District 13 fit the bill for our weekly lunch. The restaurant is in an old Chase Bank branch and the beer taps are fitted into the front of the old vault. My wife ordered two appetizers as a lunch meal - the appetizer portion of crab cakes and the Crispy Bangkok Brussels (which the menu bills as "tossed in Thai chili sauce, toasted cashews, mint, and sriracha aioli". The brussel sprouts was a large portion - intended to be shared - and my wife did indeed share them with me. Both were excellent. I ordered the Sweet Whiskey Burger which was topped with carmelized onions, smoked bacon, white American cheese and a whiskey glaze. It comes with chips but I upgraded to fries and I am SO GLAD I did. The burger was exceptional (definitely makes my "TOP 5" list and the fries were incredible. These were among the best fries I've had. Since my wife was sharing her brussel sprouts, I shared my fries with her. She's not as big of a burger and fries fan as I am but she also loved the fries. My wife and daughter arrived for a late dinner just after 8pm on a Friday night and were seated quickly with a hostess and server introducing themselves to us. We felt welcome and appreciated! The menu looked great, plenty of options and several things sounded good. I asked our server for vegetarian recommendations since there was no veggie sandwich or veggie burger. They have a pasta, lettuce wraps, and some appetizers. We settled on the Brussel sprouts and braided pretzel for apps and were very pleased with both! I like getting Brussel sprouts when I'm out and these may be the best ones I've had. A generous portion too! My daughter didn't love the cheese that came with the pretzel, which is unusual, but I enjoyed it. I had the lettuce wraps which came with a thick peanut sauce. It felt filling combined with the Brussel sprouts and was a tasty meal. My wife had the crab cakes appetizer, which she was pleased with. My daughter had the bootie pasta with alfredo, but felt like the sauce was a bit too... thick? She's pretty picky. Lastly the drinks! We were very pleased with our margarita and smoked old-fashioned! Reasonably priced and professionally made. It was impressive and I wouldn't mind stopping at their bar for a quick drink when driving through even if it's not for food. The old-fashioned is served in a smoked box. My wife said it was one of the better ones she's had! We love this place. The ambiance and service are always good. There were a few disappointments this trip, though. My campfire chicken had a nice sauce, but the sundried tomatoes were dry and chewy; they should have been reconstituted a bit. The asparagus was woody and hard to cut even with a knife. Located in a cute town square District 13 is a gastropub inside a renovated bank. I enjoyed how they maintained elements of the bank after the renovation. For instance the beer taps are located inside the door of the bank vault. The bar itself is good sized and could fit a good number of people. To start off I ordered the drink Pineapple Express and a pretzel stick appetizer. The Pineapple Express turned out to be excellent.! I'm not sure if the smoke really added much flavour to the drink, but it was rather exciting watching the cover be taken off the drink and the smoke come bellowing out. I also enjoyed the pretzel appetizer. The pretzels were warm, soft and didn't have an excessive amount of salt (the way I prefer it.) Later I ordered a second drink that was a Pumpkin Bourbon Smash. It wasn't my favorite. It wasn't bad, but something about the flavor seemed a little off. I should have ordered a second Pineapple Express. For dinner I ordered the Not a Date Night Burger. It was topped with a creamy garlic cheese sauce that was excellent. The burger came with a side of house made chips. I thought the chips were just ok. I would have preferred the french fries (I sampled my friends fries and they were much better.) Lastly, I need to mention the service. There were several women working the bar and they were all very friendly and attentive. Multiple staff members stopped by and asked if we required anything else. I really loved this place before. Although my most recent experience just wasn't that great. Horrible wait time & there were more people standing waiting to get seated than people sitting down eating. Many empty tables all over but no one getting sat with a 25 minute wait time. Very odd. I had their drunken shrimp Alfredo. In the kindest way..I could have made this at home from a box. No flavoring. No extra seasoning. Just boiled steamed shrimp with some seasonings & flavorless pasta. Some of the worst Alfredo I have had. You could add a piece of garlic bread to your meal for $1.98..which is odd to me. That should just come with the meal. Why is a piece of bread that much lol. My dad got a cheeseburger & he said he has never tasted a cheeseburger without flavor before until now. My mom's chicken was so hard & burnt when I tried it, I thought I was going to lose a tooth. All very weird. I wouldn't recommend the drive out there. Not worth it. There are other average places for much cheaper closer to Columbus. I love the idea. It used to be an old bank they renovated but it is so dang bright inside. I chose to take my daughter to District 13 prior to Big Walnut Graduation. We get there at 630 pm and take seats at the bar. We got a lemonade and an Arnold Palmer and ordered chicken fingers and a campfire chicken meal. Graduation was at 8pm. We patiently waited for our meal and at 740 pm we asked for the manager. I let him know we waited 50 minutes and he said our food was almost ready and we unfortunately were going to have to take it to go. I wanted 10 more minutes and watched 3 meals get packaged up and they were not ours. At 750 pm we asked for the bill to pay for the beverages I verbalize my disappointment and the manager said it's graduation night what do you expect. I paid for the beverages but he made it known that he comped the meals as we hadn't received them after an hour wait. This was tacky at best and made it seem like he was doing us a favor. I really wanted to love this because I've heard great things about their dinner and the place is adorable, but the food quality of Sunday brunch was a little bit of a disappointment. My waffles were sooo dry and were supposed to come with whipped cream, but didn't. The hashbrowns were unlike any I've had during brunch and I think it is because they cooked them in some sort of meat grease which is why they were so brown. The chicken on the chicken and waffles was also incredibly dry, so all around it was kind if a flop. Also they use plastic condiment containers for every little thing and it just seems like a major waste of plastic. The service and ambiance were great though, so I'll have to come try lunch or dinner sometime. read more

I've been there and it's all about the approach. Other than that ONE time out of more than two hands worth of visits, service is typically extremely prompt and timely. Prices are also decently fair. Been in several times and each time there's been something that was mishandled in some way. To me it seems like poor management as each time we brought something up it was blown off with just a casual almost uppity "sorry about that" . Issues related to long waits for no apparent reason, menu items not prepared properly and one time an off smell that was combined with the smell of bleach or an industrial cleaner that was enough to ruin your appetite. They were slammed because of the nice weather, but they still made us feel welcome and got us what we needed with just a bit of patience on our part. The food was amazing. The busy servers were very organized and attentive. A friend had the fish tacos and loved them. The pretzel braids were amazing! Another friend ALWAYS orders a Reuben at places that have them and said it was one of the best he'd ever had (and took 1/2 home). The Nashville Chicken Pasta I had was good and nicely spicy - although it needed a little more of some flavor or another to mix with the heat. Decent given the lack of variety in Sunbury's central square but lots of room for improvement or new additions. Let's start with husband's burger. Husband got the Whiskey BBQ burger and asked for it to be cooked "medium"; it was extremely well done -- gray was how he described it, and the seasoning was "eh, pretty bland. The bacon and sauce were good but it was underwhelming. Not alot of toppings and the meat was underseasoned". My MIL got their pasta bows & is a semi-regular client. She describes it as "they open a can of French's tomato and that's it!", then she seasons it with the table salt and pepper. No oregano? No basil!? NO THYME?! Nothing notable???? I wouldn't believe it were seasoned if I hadn't seen my MIL season it. My daughter's tenders were the best executed dish on our table. Period. Pretty hard to butcher Kid's tenders unless you're a farm to fork restaurant-- pun totally intended. My D13 rendition of a Nashville Hot chicken sandwhich was okay, not a slam dunk but ok. It would've been amazing if the sauce tasted more unique as opposed to like storebought Frank's, and they had maybe put more pickles or even house made pickles. Just my honest opinion. The fries were good. Maybe next time I'll try the Frog legs or gator?! It's pretty amazing they offer either. My Husband and I went to District 13 on Sunday 2/23/25. We had three people waiting on us at different times. My husband ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich, and I the chicken tacos. They gave him the wrong sandwich and the sandwich they gave him was way overcooked! We did let the waitress know and she brought him a new top bun and coleslaw. (Warning) The sandwiches all state they come with chips. We were charged for the chips. I received the tacos and picked one up and all of the filling fell out. I asked for a plate, so I could eat my tacos with a fork. They gave me a tray, with a piece of paper on it. It had sour cream & Pico etc.. I asked him for a plate or bowl and he said, I can put the food on the tray if you do not want to. He was extremely rude! First and last time we will ever go to that place.
